  1. You really like talking about your country on a board called pro wrestling only, don't you ? It must be one of your favorites hobbies. I bet this board loved WM 35. A black man won the wwe title and the main event featured women for the first time !
  2. If Conrad does a series of podcasts with Jim Ross, I may listen all of them. I love this man.
  3. I'm not surprised. He's not most of the women's type nowadays. I think, in fact, even in the eighties, The Rockers, Lex Luger and Barry Windham were considered as prettier. But I agree lot of women loved Flair at the time, he was sleeping with hundred of women. You have to keep in mind that a lot of women are attracted to the type of man presented in movies etc. In the eighties, there were a tons of mid-length blond hair men like Flair, Luger, Windham, Michael Hayes, Bobby Eaton, Stan Lane, Shawn Michaels, Stan Lane, Buddy Landel etc. Nowadays, it's not the case at all. Wrestling changes along cinema and fashion. Currently, those are wrestlers like Cena, Orton, Rock, Batista, Reigns and Rollins that are seen as pretty. They have a really short brown hair or have a shaved head. It's not the case at all for Reigns and Rollins but they're not blond and both have an exotic side. I much prefer the look of the wrestlers from the eighties.
  4. He deserves it. One of the greatest entertainers of the eighties. His theme song is awesome.
  5. I think Flair doesn't care about Balor's performance.
  6. God Becky Lynch doesn't look badass at all. It's pretty pathetic.
  7. Fuck you KawadaSmile, really. You really piss me off with your titles. It's not the place to talk about it for god sake. Really, I'm not a contentious person at all. But each and every week I read his provoking, off the subject and inapropriate titles.
  8. As far as I'm concerned, I don't see things in a different way because of the history of the company. I have to say I despise this point of view.
  9. It's really enjoyable. The clock was a nice touch. Explosions add enormously. The finish could have been better. The pinfall shouldn't have happened before the final explosion, the explosion should have happened before. Then, the match should have been declared as a draw. When two wrestlers do sadistic things to each other in a match, they shouldn't just after take each other in their arms. ****1/2
  10. This match is better than the first one. The fact that the first fall ends quickly is likeable because it adds drama but doesn't add urgency to the rest of the match by any means because there are too many kick outs after big moves. How do you want to create sense of urgency with so many big moves kick out ? It's not great, fun or likeable. The past is too fast to be likeable. They're all the stars here.
  11. I'm going to watch all Toshiaki Kawada's matches from 1994 and give a rating and possibly some comments to almost each of them. They all took place in AJPW. ***1/2 1. Kenta Kobashi & Satoru Asako vs Takao Omori & Toshiaki Kawada - 2/19 ***1/4 2. Mitsuharu Misawa, Kenta Kobashi & Jun Akiyama vs Akira Taue, Takao Omori & Toshiaki Kawada - 1/20 *** 3. Stan Hansen vs Toshiaki Kawada - 3/24 4. The Patriot & The Eagle vs Akira Taue & Toshiaki Kawada - 2/24 5. Mitsuharu Misawa, Kenta Kobashi & Giant Baba vs Akira Taue, Masanobu Fuchi & Toshiaki Kawada - 1/29 Unfortunately, there are some boring parts. 6.Toshiaki Kawada & Akira Taue vs Jun Akiyama & Takao Omori - 3/5 **1/2 7. Toshiaki Kawada vs Johnny Smith - 3/19 8. Stan Hansen, John Nord & Brian Costello vs Akira Taue, Masanobu Fuchi & Toshiaki Kawada - 1/25 ** 9. Toshiaki Kawada vs Steve Williams - 3/29 Unranked matches : The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton and Tommy Rogers) vs Akira Taue and Toshiaki Kawada - 1/2 Mitsuharu Misawa & Kenta Kobashi vs Masanobu Fuchi & Toshiaki Kawada - 1/7 Stan Hansen & John Nord vs Akira Taue & Toshiaki Kawada - 1/12
  12. I think All Japan and NOAH should merge. They have a similar product anyway, haven't they ?
  13. Oh sorry you're not talking about politics this week. I didn't know. It's tragic indeed.
  14. How can you enjoy watching this shit ? Each Rumble in the 90's was better.
  15. I rate and comment numerous wrestling matches. I don't pretend it's interesting or well developed. It's just for my own enjoyment. El Hijo Del Santo vs Espanto Jr - UWA - 4/10/1988 Pleasantly surprising match. The finish is thrilling because there are loads of nearfalls, it's difficult to figure out the winner. ****1/4 Devil Masami vs Shinobu Kandori - JWP - 7/14/1988 Captivating match. There is blood at the end. There is a struggle throughout the match. ***1/2 Carlos Colon vs Hercules Ayala - Fire Match - WWC - 9/10/88 It's not an interesting and thrilling match at all. Pathetic. 1/2* Tatsumi Fujinami, Keichii Yamada, Shiro Koshinaka, Yoshiaki Fujiwara & Kengo Kimura vs Hiroshi Saito, Kuniaki Kobayashi, Super Strong Machine, Masa Saito & Riki Choshu - Elimination Match - NJPW - 9/12/1988 It's an awesome match, thrilling from the beginning to the end. The end with Fujinami, Choshu and Saito is really great. A must see. ****3/4 El Dandy vs Pirata Morgan - Hair vs Hair Match - EMLL - 9/23/1988 Really nice. Everything seems fluid and natural. El Dandy is very good. So is Pirata Morgan. **** Ric Flair vs Ricky Steamboat - WCW - 3/18/1989 Those two wrestlers really have a humengous chemistry. Not as good as the chi-town, clash, wrestlewar or even 94 Spring Strampede and 94 Saturday Night matches though. **** El Satanico vs Sangre Chicana - EMLL - 5/26/1989 Disappointing seeing as the two wrestlers involved. It's not a good match, there's nothing really interesting. It's slightly better when Satanico is on offense but it's not exceptionnal either. ** Masakatsu Funaki vs Tatsuo Nakano - UWF - 7/24/1989 It's really thrilling. ****1/4 Rick Rude vs Ultimate Warrior - WWF - 8/28/1989 Whether you like The Warrior or not, you can't deny his entry is electrifying and thrilling. He goes really well with his theme song. Those two wrestlers are known for having a good chemistry together. Anyway, this match is really pleasant. The commentators Tony and Jesse really do a good job. **** The Rockers vs Fabulous Rougeaus - WWF - 10/10/1989 ****1/2 Atsushi Onita & Tarzan Goto vs Kendo Nagasaki & Masanobu Kurisu - Texas Death Match - FMW - 4/1/1990 Fun Hardcore match. ***1/4 Atlantis vs Blue Panther - EMLL - 8/9/1991 ***1/4 Jushin Liger vs El Samurai - NJPW - 4/30/1992 Extremely disappointing match. The two men tearing off each other masks is the only compelling thing. * Stan Hansen vs Toshiaki Kawada - AJPW - 2/28/1993 ***3/4 Toshiaki Kawada, Akira Taue & Takao Omori vs Stan Hansen, John Nord & Brian Costello - AJPW - 1/25/1994 **1/2 Toshiaki Kawada, Akira Taue & Masanobu Fuchi vs Mitsuharu Misawa, Kenta Kobashi & Giant Baba - AJPW - 1/29/1994 Unfortunately, there are some boring parts. *** Tsuyoshi Koshaka vs Volk Han - RINGS - 8/24/1996 ****1/2 Kiyoshi Tamura vs Volk Han - RINGS - 9/26/1997 Amazing. ****3/4
  16. Really nice. Everything seems fluid and natural. El Dandy is very good. So is Pirata Morgan. ****
  17. Pleasantly surprising match. The finish is thrilling because there are loads of nearfalls, it's difficult to figure out the winner. ****1/4
  18. It's extremely hard and in constant change but nonetheless I can try.
  19. Decent match, not great. I like the violence present in this match. The after match is long. First, Sawyer and Duggan continue their fight for a moment. Then the referees and then the wrestlers come to try to separate them. The two wrestlers are escorted each by a group of colleagues in the locker room or in a place whose name I don't know. But they meet again and the fight resumes. They are finally separated for good. I like the way Sawyer screams like a possessed man. Unfortunately, the after match is way too long.
  20. Too chaotic. I'm not staying I didn't like it but still. My issue with that kind of tag matches is that too many things happen in the same time. So, I'm not able to see well everything that happens. From what I've seen yet, AWA is a better tag team territory because of Buddy Rose/Doug Somers and the Midnight Rockers.
