WWE TV 7/5 - 7/11 I guess no one watched Raw last night

I think it's past the point of recovering. They have burned people so bad that they would need at least a year of amazing programming to even get people to start giving them a chance again. They would need an entire flush of creative and just start over with new people.

Yeah, exactly this. He's going to keep doing it and getting away with it until a jury is overly hostile to him or he causes an accident.

I mean it is cute when Ryan Satin pretends to be a real journalist.

They always pick the dumbest fights with Dave.

It's also not uncommon for athletes especially to just get repeated slaps on the wrist for DUIs.

Jury trial as well. Defense attorney might have done a better job. I read an article and he lawyered up quick which probably helped him as far as a trial goes.

Is Impact the best promotion in wrestling history?

    Lana needs a job...

    Terry Funk's Health

That's really sad. I sent him a letter years ago and he signed some stuff for me and even scribbled a little drawing of Texas on the index cards I used to make the envelope more sturdy. He truly was an amazing talent.

    R.I.P. The Patriot (Del Wilkes)

The GWF's biggest accomplishment as a promotion. I really liked the gimmick and thought he was a pretty good worker. Some of his All Japan stuff was a lot of fun.

WWE TV 6/28-7/4 Euro 2020 is pro wrestling

I have a hard time blaming Bloom. They seemed to do a decent job in his early days. It has to be next to impossible to give properly attention to 100 people and especially ones corporate deems low priority. I also think there are issues with agenting and taking guys that just need some polish and structure and getting them over that hump. As mentioned by cm funk. Conti is a great example. She showed almost zero improvement in NXT but has shown constant improvement as a worker probably just getting some time with Dustin, QT and Rosa.

They haven't trained up someone from scratch for years. I would also argue I haven't seen anyone benefit from a stay in NXT while several guys like Gargano have regressed while at the Performance Center.

If only there was some sort of let's call it a Performance Center to work with people to prevent bad spots like this happening. On a serious note. Has someone not taken her aside and said don't do that before? NXT seems very Power Plant in that it's people standing around doing Hindu squats all day and learning nothing.

Finally gotten to the end of the 60s era of Doctor Strange. It's really just a tale of some great art as the series progresses. The Gene Colan issues are just works of beauty to look at.

Her movements reminded me of Tom Savage after that hit a couple of years ago. That was just an awful kick from Xia. Neither of them could see where her foot was going. That's up there for brutal KOs.

Comparing Numbers of Shows Per Era

I think the one thing with 90s indies are those weird lucha shows in CA and TX that did good business. Those seem to be an outlier.

Bix and Zellner on their Patreon show about ECW going under made some mention that Heyman had been taking out loans on PPV revenue. It sounds like he was always borrowing against future earnings to survive the now and could just never get out of that cycle. The roster was also super bloated by 1998/1999. I remember they would run in Columbus and have like 10 matches and used 25-30 guys. They probably pissed all of the ticket money away on talent and transporting the ring.

Yeah, there's stuff like the IWA in Columbus that there's very very few records of online that ran for almost 30 years.

Comparing Numbers of Shows Per Era

All of the promotions were dying in 1985 and pulling back to being TV only like the AWA. You have a company like CWF running almost 800 shows a year to being gone is going to heavily effect that. I also think cable TV and just the glut of wrestling out there made live wrestling less profitable for local promotions.

I am guessing Verne's starpower was too much to challenge for a long time and he was still part of the club despite being his own promotion.

Sheik had all of Ohio mixed in with Detroit. Ask my dad about wrestling and Bobo Brazil and the Sheik are his references. Akron and Canton were regular stops for Detroit shows. Looking at results they were running in Ohio more than they were in MI by the last 5 years of the promotion.

Kris Zellner and Barry Rose did a series of podcasts on Florida. It sounds like they ran weekly circuits of the towns in FL but had split crews. So Barry I believed lived in the town that got the B crew every week.
  22. To me he's like Kane with a shittier offense and none of the charisma or aura.

I agree. I think she is super talented but you are a fool if you make any plans around her or try to depend on her.

The entire Mike Grell run on Green Arrow is super cheap on ComiXology right now. It's $1.99 a trade this week.
