    Wrestling before or after 1996?

I'd still probably go pre-1996 if I absolutely had to make that choice, but I'd be more sad about it than I would have been in the past. In a vacuum, it's pretty likely that there have been more great matches that have made tape since 1996, but I do still care about other things too, and I still don't think there's enough variety in wrestling post-1996.

    PWO Appreciation Thread

What a beautiful sentiment. Thanks to everyone here for years of community and purpose. I've had the privilege to become friends with many of the posters here outside the confines of this board and I'll always be grateful for that. I haven't posted much in a long time because we're in an era where I felt a bit guilty for enjoying a form of escapism -- almost like I was contributing to a type of malaise that made the world a worse place. I've made myself miserable the last few years consuming real-world events almost the way that I used to consume pro wrestling. But I read this thread and think the opposite is true -- that having this tiny corner space online matters -- which is worth more to me personally than you know. I'm the one who is honored to be among all of you.

WWE TV 6/3 - 6/9 NOBODY CARES, AEW IS COMING.

I would be shocked if they have any concrete ideas for him beyond doing these vignettes. It reminds me in some ways of a more entertaining version of Make Darren Young Great Again.

WWE TV 5/27-6/2 RAW IS WILL VINCE RESIST TAKING SHOTS AT AEW

I've always had the theory that it's not Stephanie heading Creative that was the problem, since we've seen the problems continue long after she's gone, but rather Stephanie becoming an on-air character. There are stories of her being bothered by Mick Foley going off script in their early TV interactions. She also got upset when Dusty Rhodes tried to ad-lib in 2013. I think scripted promos were a way of keeping her from getting eaten alive when she was booked to argue with people like The Rock and Chris Jericho every week.

He's comparing himself as the upstart futurist attempting the impossible, I think.

There are a lot of social, economic, political, technological, and cultural factors driving this that I think have almost nothing to do with the people themselves, and this is one of the rare times I wish we weren't Pro Wrestling Only, so I could expand on that a little. But we are, so I won't, except to say that I don't look at it as a moral failing or a character defect.

There was a story years back that Vince was sleeping all day long every Friday and not going to work.

Is Vince still taking one day a week to sleep all day long?

Jon Moxley on Talk is Jericho

I think this deserves a thread. Just started listening but it's already getting tons of buzz. http://www.westwoodonepodcasts.com/pods/talk-is-jericho/

We are back in the Working The Boys era. This was discussed on today's WOR, but apparently some wrestlers were told it was unscripted when it wasn't.
