[1995-05-20-WCW-Worldwide] Ric Flair & Vader vs Dos Amigos

Whilst this angle is cute, it really shows off WCW as a really wacky cartoon in this era, Flair & Vader are made to look like fools frequently, as more comedy foil to Hogan than an actual serious threat.

[1981-11-18-CWF] Jack Brisco vs Buzz Sawyer

I really enjoyed the finish of this. This match felt big time due to the stipulations of getting a NWA World Title shot. Thumbs up for what it was.

New Get in the Ring Super Thread

I remember there was some advice given regarding in another thread, and this questions spawns from that. What is your podcasts USP? What can I get from listening your show that I can't get elsewhere? I am not trying to be a dick, but if you're the same as other shows, you need a hook, a way to stand out otherwise you're going to have the same issues as before.

  14. Hey Milano, means a lot you listening and enjoying my takes, even when we recorded on the Monday I was still amped from the live experience all weekend. Honestly, my favourite live Wrestling experience in nearly 20 years of going to shows.
  15. Going to watch the PCW vs. IPW:UK trainee show tomorrow in Preston. It's a free show, and has a T-Bone & Bubblegum tag match, so should be a fun time.

    Most Important Matches in History

I think your counter points are more than fair. I am basing a lot of what I am saying purely on anecdotal evidence of people who watched during the late 70s early 80s run. I also will admit my Big Daddy bias.

    Most Important Matches in History

It was the peak of British Wrestling from an audience standpoint. Yes, it wasn't in the BARB's top 10 shows for 1981 (lowest being 17.6 million), so there's no way to "prove" the rating, bar what ITV told people at the time. 1962 was reported to be around 16 million, which again is hard to prove. We're not dealing in hard data, which is a shame. Remember the Big Daddy vs. Haystacks play that was popular in the 00s - It wasn't like they were doing a Jackie Pallo vs. Tommy Lorne play instead. Sting vs. Hogan at Starrcade 1997 was massively important, regardless of the massive slide thereafter.

    Most Important Matches in History

It was such an important match, that even the Guardian Newspaper reminisce about it: https://www.theguardian.com/observer/osm/story/0,6903,391071,00.html
