Great job setting up this house loop. Hope these guys car pooled as those are some long rides. I was read an article by Dory on the travel in Western States Wrestling... IT SEEMED BRUTAL. Sunny War Cloud better be careful... you don't usually mess with Sullivan and have things work out. What a win for Chicky Starr... Dory must be nervous becasue he heard the NWA Tag Champs are coming to get him! LOL. Really enjoying Tribal Nation-Moondogs Terry is right where he needs to be... Main Event.... Bloody match vs some foreign heels!

The format of your shows is unique to our game with the post-match interviews including both winner and loser. This helps the loser stay strong in my opinion as a quick excuse why you lost and all is forgiven. Nice booking. Nice win for Combs! Moretti is on fire!

    AWA Major League Wrestling

Great event for the people of Brown County. Da Crusher would have the crowd rocking from the get go. Nice choice to have him start the show. Looking forward to when the Rock n Roll Express really get going here in the AWA! Nice finish to the Lawler/Dundee match. I bet Lawler would take the DQ if he got to hit Dundee with the Brass Knucks everytime. Steamboat is really starting to own that AWA title. The Superflys/Cartel is a great angle.

Nice set of house shows. I agree with Edger. You have such a great writing style and give us so many little descriptive details that is paints a vivd picture. I have also said it before, you do such a great job of writing for such a deep roster.

    Western States Wrestling

Awesome week in the Sports Arena. Loved the main event. Terry and Dory may not like their "cousin" if he doesn't step up. Kendell is a great choice to go after Dev. inc. Duk and Simpson is a perfect upper midcard match. Shaska good really bring the heat. Way to start off the show

    AWA Major League Wrestling

Nice week for the AWA Heel Greg Gagne is much more enjoyable to me then babyface Greg Gagne was in real lfe. I enjoy the push you are giving Moretti. I think a win over Steve O will help him move up the ladder. You did a nice job of capturing Bock's arrogance! He is MR. AWA in my mind. Wrestler or manager.... that Heart Punch from Ox is scary.... Billy Jack with Ox in his corner could be big time for you. The Cartel gets the best of the Superflys..... this week. Garea with a nice win. I think the St. Clair thing had run its course until this World Tour idea. Now people in the AWA are wondering who is this guy. Who is so good that he beats peole all over the globe. Great booking. VERRY, VERRY INTERESTING.... Can't wait to find out more. Steamboat vs Kamala will be fun and sell some tickets. I thought somethng might be up in that Tag Title match. Adias is lucky this is Sports Entertainment. If not, Cash and Snowman would be hurting someboady! Great match.

    Western States Wrestling

Now this is really fun! Western States is such an addition to our game! First for the TV show.... I really like how the TV show is connected to the afternoon show at the Sports Arena. Tojo is great at briging the heat and your promo stlye is perfect for the 80's... nothing politically correct here. Western States is the perfect place to resurrect Devastation Inc. Looking forward to the anti-America heels here driving the fans crazy. Nice to see Homer Simpson and Peter Griffin try their luck in the squared circle.... HAHA Great main event.... Nice to see Terry with his brother right where he should be. Also, the NWA is happy to see them take the stolen titles so they can be returned to where they should be... we hope? To the Sports Arena Show Great way to add the last team to the tourny... it brings excitment to the opening match of the card. Looking at the teams in the tourny, I really had no idea who was going to come out on top which made it real interesting. I thought any of the first round matches could have been the finals. All the teams were pretty equal and this will make for an awesome division in your promotion..... All of that changed as I was reading the show.... OMG.... Moondogs on leashes followed by KEVIN SULLIVAN!! I like how Smirnoff keeps losing in the big show of the week.... this might keep the fans from West Texas from rioting. Hold on a minute... Smirnoff with Devastation Inc... and they bloody up Windham..... Riot Alert!!! Nice win for Triba; Nation but WATCH OUT..... Sullivan is a known kidnapper.....and now he is coming for some Injuns.... Where is Leon White? The Texas Rangers better question Sullivan.

    National Wrestling Alliance

Taped every Friday Night and aired to local affiliates throughout the Central time zone throughout the weekend and broadcast across the United States every Sunday Night at 6:05 PM Eastern Time on the Superstation WTBS, the North American Wrestling Alliance proudly presents Power Pro Wrestling, coming to you this week from the Tulsa Civic Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma Jim Ross: Hello everybody and welcome to the first every edition of Power Pro Wrestling, a National Wrestling Alliance production. That’s right folks. The NWA is back! So much has changed over the past few weeks so let me Cowboy Bill Watts to shed some light on the situation. Cowboy Bill Watts: Thank you Jim. Boy, you said a mouth full. The NWA is Back! Bob Geigel, Ted Turner and myself have partnered to bring the best wrestlers into the homes of all the great fans each and every week. We know that the past year has been tough on the NWA but we are coming out with a bang! Saturday, January 31 in Kiel Auditorium there will be a one night 16-man, single elimination, tournament to crown the new NWA World Champion! And that is not all… the winner gets a cool $100,000! Jim Ross: Wow, that is huge news. Cowboy Bill Watts: Wrestlers from all over the World have been trying to get into this tournament. In fact, we have had so many people want in, that they will be one round of qualifying matches which will begin today right here on TV. If you win, you are in! Jim Ross: I can’t wait! Right after this break we will get to the action and you won’t belief who is here…. Hulk Hogan COMMERCIAL MATCH: Hulk Hogan vs Greg Valentine with Bobby Heenan It is obvious the NWA is trying to make a splash here as they have put two of the biggest names in the industry In A Win To Get In Match on National TV. As for the match, we have seen Hogan’s matches and then all seem to follow the same script. Hogan takes the early lead and then Heenan gets involved and we see the momentum swing to Valentine. Valentine comes within inches of winning it several times and then Hogan begins his “No Selling” comeback. Jim Ross: Hogan with a huge Ax Handle Smash. Whoah….hold on a minute…. That is Bad News Allen rushing to the ring. Hogan lets the fans know he is going for the Big Leg Drop. Hogan hits the ropes… Bawd Gawd … Allen has grabbed the leg of Hogan and he trips to the canvass. The ref goes to admonish Allen and Heenan comes to the rescue and the three go into a war of words. As this is going on, the crowd gasps as Honky Tonk Man comes out from under the ring and comes in the ring with his guitar! SMASH…. HTM clobbers Hogan and Allen and Heenan simply walk away from the ref who turns around and sees The Hammer on top of Hogan! 1…2…3. Jim Ross: I can’t believe what I just saw. Bobby Heenan and the Family just stole one from the Hulkster! Heenan and his stable come over to the interview desk where they are all smiles. Bobby Heenan: It has been over a year sense I saw Hulk Hogan and we just thought we would play a little chin music for the “Former AWA” champion. Jim Ross: So, you admit to cheating? Bobby Heenan: We never admit to anything. Just like you never admit to eating the last donut Jim Ross! Win and Move on was the instructions and Greg “the Hammer” Valentine is moving on! Commercial As we come out of break, we see “Nature Boy” Roger Kirby at the interview desk. Roger Kirby: Well this tournament is just a formality. I mean with the tournament being in St. Louis, a place I have never lost, you might as well hand me the title. Jim Ross: Are you sure you never lost in St. Louis Roger Kirby: Would I have any reason to lie. I am the Nature Boy… the best there ever was, the best there is and the best there ever will be. I am a legend in the Show Me State and tonight I will show all you uneducated folk down here in Oklahoma what a real champion looks like! All of a sudden, Dr, Death Steve Williams comes out and simply says that it is time for an Oklahoma legend to Show a Missouri has-been what a real beating looks like. MATCH: Steve “Dr. Death” Williams vs “The Nature Boy” One collar and elbow tie up and Kirby feels the power from Dr. Death as the Oklahoma crowd goes wild as their Sooner hero tosses the arrogant Kirby halfway across the ring. Kirby now does a great job of playing the frightened heel and uses the ref as a shield. It works as he is able to hit a lowblow on Dr. Death. This gave Kirby the momentum for a minute or two, but it only served to anger Williams. Once Dr. Death recouped, he hit Kirby with a huge football tackle that nearly split Kirby in two. Dr. Death got the easy pin as Jim Ross announces we now have our second entry into the tournament. Dr. Death breaks out in a little Boomer Sooner song and the Oklahoma crowd loves it and joins in! Commercial When we come out of break, we here a little moan come out of Cowboy Bill Watts Bill Watts: I had a bad feeling you would show up here in the NWA… what can we do for you little man! Jim Cornette: Watch your mouth Watts. My mother’s lawyers are just waiting to sue an oversized, fat bully like yourself. Bill Watts: Here we go again…Ok Mamma’s Boy. What can we do for you? Jim Cornette: That’s better. I deserve to be treated with respect around here. I am out here because I have a bone to pick with you… that is, if you didn’t eat all the bones. Bill Watts: Move on Cornette or move out! Jim Cornette: Ok… this World Champions Tournament is all well and good but you what about the tag teams. Where is our tournament? I mean I know my team, The Midnight Express, is the greatest tag team in the world today and my mother’s lawyers feel you are not hosting a tag team tournament because you do want to see me win the gold. That is discrimination and the lawyers are drawing up the papers as we speak. Bill Watts: Not because I am afraid of your mother’s lawyers or because I want to appease you, you little midget but I was going to announce that we will be crowning new tag team champions next month and their will be more information on that next week. Jim Cornette: Well let me introduce you and all these unworthy fans here in Tulsa to the greatest tag team in the World today…. The Midnight Express The techno music plays as Cornette heads to the ring with Dennis Condrey and Bobby Eaton MATCH: The Midnight Express defeats Bubba Dickerson & Billy Bob Bradley as Eaton hit the Alabama Jammer on Dickerson! Jim Ross: Man, I can’t stand that Cornette but the Midnight Express is the real deal! COMMERCIAL MATCH: Ken Patera with General Akbar vs The Tonga Kid Patera and Akbar’s arrogance quickly goes away as the Tonga Kid is all over the former Olympian at the beginning. Sheik Hercules Hernandez accompanied his manager to the ring but, their seemed to be a little tension between Hercules and his stablemates. It appeared that Akbar panicked and wanted Hercules to get involved as Tonga Kid was in control. Hercules refused and it appeared that he told Akbar that he didn’t want to cost Patera the win as there could be a DQ. In the end, Patera prevailed as he got the win by submission with the Swinging Full Nelson. At the interview desk, Akbar did his best to infuriate the American crowd as he once again claimed the NWA was trying to sabotage him because of his connection to Arabia. When Ross asked what he was talking about, he said that Patera came to the ring and was going to take it easy on Tonga Kid but the referee was obviously cheating against Sheik Patera. Watts tried his best to laugh this off and asked if everything was alright in his Army as there seemed to be a problem with Hercules Hernandez. This is when Akbar laughed as he said that Watts was again trying to stir the pot; all because of his nationality. He left by saying that of course his Sheiks were fine and one of them would win the NWA World Title COMMERCIAL MATCH: Mark & Jay Youngblood defeat The Assassins as Jay hit the top rope diving tomahawk chop This match shows the NWA has some real depth to their tag team division as both of these teams are double tough. The Assassins, with their size, power, and questionable tactics could beat anyone and the Youngbloods, with their speed, tag team tactics and never-say die Indian perseverance are one of the best teams in the world. Unlike Cornette, and the Midnight Express, the Youngbloods are grateful for the NWA giving them this chance and they can’t wait to show all their Indian brothers here in Oklahoma all of their talent. They also make it a point to let Cornette know that they are unsure if his team is the greatest in the world and they would love a shot at them down the road. COMMERCIAL MATCH: Barry Windham vs “Mr. Piledriver” Bob Sweetan A wild match that shows Sweetan might be up there in age, but he is still game for a big brawl. Much of the action has spilled outside of the ring and both men get a little bloody as their heads had been rammed into something hard and metal. In the end, Barry catches Sweetan in a Superplex and gets the win! In the post-match interview, Windham hypes up this tournament and he can’t believe that he had to face someone as tough as Sweetan in the first round and he knows things will only get tougher. Before we head off the air, Cowboy Bill Watts hypes up the return of the NWA one more time and lets all the good fans in places like Kansas City, St. Joseph, Lincoln, Wichita, and Oklahoma City. Jim Ross: Well folks, I told you it would be an exciting hour. Next week, we will have more qualifying matches for the NWA World Champion Tournament. Get your tickets for January 31 at the Kiel Auditorium. So long from Tulsa.

WITH JIM ROSS & BILL WATTS MAY 8, 1986 SAM HOUSTON COLISEUM HOUSTON, TX Jim Ross: Hey everybody! Welcome to another great episode of Mid-South Wrestling coming to you from the Sam Houston Coliseum in Houston, Texas. I’m Jim Ross and it’s certainly my privilege to have NWA President, Cowboy Bill Watts as my partner on today’s show. Thank you, Bill, for being with us. Before we get to tonight’s show, we must first bring you back to last week and the bizarre actions of Kevin Sullivan. We see a short video clip where Sullivan interrupted an interview by Leon “Baby Bull’ White. This served as the needed distraction as two men in black hoods came out and put a third hood over Leon White and then the trio dragged Leon away while Sullivan was saying that “it was time for the transformation to begin.” Jim Ross: Very scary ending to last week’s show. What do you make of it Bill? Bill Watts: To be honest with you Jim, when it involves Kevin Sullivan, one never knows what to think. I can tell you that none of them have been seen since. The police have been contacted and there is not a trace of Sullivan, Leon White or the two hooded minions that helped Sullivan carry out his devious plan. Jim Ross: Well, whatever is going on, we hope Leon White is safe. If and when we get any information, we will pass it on to everyone immediately. Now, Bill, we have one heck of a show instore for the fans tonight. Bill Watts: That’s for sure. Tonight, we will see Iceman Parsons take on Hercules Simms. Newcomers, Frankie “Thumper” Lancaster will face Gary Young. We also have a double main event for you as we will see two title matches! First, it will be The American Dream, Dusty Rhodes & Blackjack Mulligan taking on “Kruscher Kruschev & Ivan Koloff and finally, One Man Gang with Ernie Ladd gets his shot at the Mid-South title and Hacksaw Butch Reed. Jim Ross: That is one jam-packed night of wrestling son let’s head to the ring. MATCH: Iceman Parsons defeats Hercules Simms with the butt bump Parsons, who came out to “We Are Family, had the crowd eating out of the palm of his hand and it is clear that he is totally forgiven for all of his questionable tactics over the past year or so. COMMERCIAL + PROMOS FOR MONDAY’S CARD IN SAN ANTONIO MATCH: Gary Young defeated Frankie “Thumper” Lancaster in impressive fashion. Young connected with a nasty spine breaker for the win in a match where he controlled most of the action. While his ability was top notch, his attitude was bottom rung. He constantly insulted his opponent while gloating throughout the match which drew the ire of the fans. Post-Match Interview Gary Young: It don’t matter where I am…. Each night before I get in the ring I look out at the crowd and see nothing but ugly. I mean one porker after another. But Houston…. Houston, you take the cake…. And eat it to. Wow… what a bunch of moo moo’d here. After I look at the crowd, I look across the ring and it only gets worse. It don’t matter if its Theresa Taylor, Fido Reed or Magnum P.U. …. They are some sorry losers who don’t stand a chance against Gary Young. Let me tell you world… Let me tell you U.S.A…. Gary Young is here to stay and I’m kicking butt and taking names and there aint nothing you can do about it. Jim Ross: Well that was one arrogant man. I think there are plenty of wrestlers around here who can’t wait to take him down a peg! COMMERCIAL + PROMOS FOR MONDAY’S CARD IN SAN ANTONIO MID-SOUTH TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: American Dream Dusty Rhodes & Blackjack Mulligan © vs The Russian Beat Ivan Koloff & Krusher Kruschev This was the one that nearly took the roof off the Sam Houston Coliseum as Rhodes & Mulligan vs any Russians would be as big a good vs evil match as there could be. Give Dusty his due here as he did a great job of bumping and selling for the big Russians but eventually, we get to that wild 2 on 2 action where Mulligan is slamming heads and Dusty is juking-jiving- throwing the right hands-dropping the bionic elbows. Jim Ross: Look Out…. Here come Nikita. Nikita is like a house a fire connecting with big right hand and big right hand on both Mulligan and Rhodes. Oh… yes… here comes the NWA Champion Magnum T.A…. he is all over Nikita. Nikita and T.A. are throwing punches by the dozen and neither man will back down and inch. Finally… with a thunderous ovation, T.A. takes down the Russian Nightmare and all three Russians roll out of the ring and head up the aisle to fight another day. Post-Match Interview Dusty Rhodes: Ya know Bill Watts… the possibilities for a kid growing up in this country are unlimited. They can be anything they want to be if they put their mind to it. They could be a lawyer, a doctor, even the next American Dream, Dusty Rhodes….if you wiiiilllllll baaabay and I sure as heck won’t sit here and let no man from Russia come and take away what the U.S. of A. stands for. Ivan Koloff…. Nikita Koloff….. traitor Darsow….. you now riled up the bear in me and that means trouble for you! Blackjack Mulligan: Hey Koloffs…. You two are good enough to beat a lot of men who sit there are let you squeeze them with that Bear Hug or stand there and let you hit them with that Russian Sickle. Well, the three of us here right now, won’t be standing around. We won’t be letting you do anything, and you will soon find out that you got no chance against us. Koloffs…. Darsow…. Anytime any place! Magnum T.A.: Nikita… I am going to give the Devil his due…. You almost had me in the Sportatorium. The key word there was almost and trust me brother, I will never again let the American fans think this World title might be going home with any Russian. You have motivated me to be better and there is no way a better Magnum T.A. ever gives up this title. Just like Blackjack just said…. Any time-Any Place! COMMERCIAL + PROMOS FOR MONDAY’S CARD IN SAN ANTONIO MID-SOUTH TITLE MATCH: Hacksaw Butch Reed © vs One Man Gang with Ernie Ladd Two big men here doing their best to take the other out. Gang uses his weight well throughout the match and does his best to lean on Reed which begins to take its toll on the champ. Much of Reed’s power is negated and he simply can’t do many of his normal repertoire of moves against someone like Gang. Ernie Ladd, as always, played a major role, as he was involved whenever the ref’s back was turned. The problem was that Reed was able to catch Ladd on the apron once as the ref was admonishing Gang for a knee to the gut. Reed threatened to clobber Ladd which the crowd as in favor off but as he went for the big right hand…. WHAM…. Giant pancake by Gang on Reed and he soars through the ropes and hits the barricade on the outside and is in trouble. The ref begins to count. 1…2…3….4…. Reed has not budged and a camera zooms in and sees Reed is busted open and seems to be out. 5….6….7…. Ladd realizes that Reed is not getting up and goes to try and throw him into the ring. 8….9…. Ladd gets Reed to the apron. 10. One Man Gang, with the help of Ernie Ladd, has defeated Butch Reed by count-out. Ladd and Gang understand that they have not won the title and are a little disappointed while many fans did not know this and exploded with joy when the ring announcer explained that Reed was still the Mid-South Champion. With Reed still out on the floor, a frustrated Ladd looks like a lightbulb has gone on in his head, grabs the title and he and One Man Gang simply walk out. Jim Ross: What is going on around the NWA. People just keep on walking out with other people’s titles. First, Tojo’s group out there in Western States Wrestling and now Ernie Ladd and One Man Gang. Cowboy Bill Watts: As NWA President, I promise you we will not stand for this. If that title is not returned by next week, One Man Gang and Ernie Ladd will be suspended from Mid-South Wrestling. Jim Ross: Well, there you have it. Cowboy Bill Watts means business. Tune in next week to see if One Man Gang and Ernie Ladd will return the Mid-South Title to Hacksaw Butch Reed or if they will be taking some unpaid leave of absence. Also, I promised you that if we heard anything on that strange situation involving Kevin Sullivan and Leon “Baby Bull” White, we would pass along that information. Well…. So far nothing. Not a word from anybody on the whereabouts of those two. Hopefully we will have happy news to that very dangerous situation. Folks, we are out of time. So long from the Lone Star State. DARK MATCHES Terry Taylor survived his match against the Executioner with the end coming with the 5 Arm Bruiser Brody defeated Tarzan Goto in a bloody brawl as he connected with a top rope knee cap right across the temple of Goto. NWA North American Title Match: Terry Gordy © defeated Jake “The Snake” Roberts in a war of attrition as he eventually hit back to back powerslams for the win. NWA World Title Match: Magnum T.A. defeated Krusher Kruschev with the Belly to Belly.

Great start to the house shows for WSW. The mileage these wrestlers in Funk's promotion put on a car was legendary. Likes seeing you establish everyone where you want them on the card.

Great night of wrestling. When Muraco vs Martel is like the 3rd or 4th best match on a house show, it just tells you that roster is AWESOME. Great ending to a great night for the fans. Tito and Hogan getting some love is the way WWF is meant to end. Good job.

Awesome... one of the best PCW events ever. I thought the battle royal write-up was great. Playboy back on top and all is right in PCW. I finally got one right.... great night for the MNE! Smothers needs a lot of help in dealing with Yamada. Yamada might need some help getting that title. Nice win for the Snowbirds.. Nice to see Orton back on track but it might take more then that to stop Bam Bam. I like the pairing the of the Wild Bulls vs Iron Steel. This gives those fans that want to see the big boys go out at something to enjoy. WOW.... Gilbert with the FIreball. This feud has just gotten to the point where it is too personal. Something must give. GREAT EVENT

WITH GORDON SOLIE MAY 1, 1986 BOUTWELL AUDITORIUM BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA SHORT FORM TO TRY AND STAY UP TO DATE Gordon Solie: Thank you. Thank you so very much and welcome once again to Continental Championship Wrestling sanctioned by the National Wrestling Alliance, the oldest and largest sanctioning body the world over. Well, we a finally here. Tonight folks, you are in for a real treat. It is the one- night tournament to crown the new Southeastern Champion. Let’s get right to the action. SOUTHEASTERN TITLE TOURNAMENT: ROUND 1 Wendell “Wild Cat” Cooley defeated “Iron” Mike Sharpe when he ducked under a loaded forearm smash by Sharpe and connected with a running clothesline. Mr. Olympia defeated The Grappler in a battle of the masked men by count-out as he beat the Grappler back into the ring after a wild slugfest out on the floor. Brad Armstong defeated the Dream Machine by DQ after he was attacked by Johnny and Tommy Rich. They did quite a number on him as they clobbered him with the ring bell and busted him wide open. The Dirty White Boy defeated Sweet Brown Sugar after he whipped Sugar into the ref and then pulled out a small chain and clocked SBS with it. As the ref recovered, The DWB hit the Bucksnort Blaster (chokeslam) and that was all she wrote. Before the second-round matches, Jimmy Garvin comes out to talk to Gordon Solie with Precious along with another women. Gordon Solie: Jimmy… what do we owe this pleasure to. You are not scheduled to wrestle here in Birmingham until next week when you and Precious take on Lanny Poffo and Woman. Jimmy Garvin: Now Gordon, I am very surprised at you. I have always known you to be a very smart man. You know Precious is not a wrestler. Gordon Solie: Now I’m confused. Did you not just ask last week for an intergender match for next week in this very building against Mr. Poffo and Woman. Jimmy Garvin: Well, that is true, but I guess you didn’t read the contract. Precious will not be getting into the ring. All of a sudden Lanny Poffo and Woman come out. Lanny Poffo: Okay Garvin. What game are you playing? Are we not wrestling you and Precious next week? Jimmy Garvin: No Lanny Poffo: Then what was all that nonsense about last week how you wanted revenge for us getting your hair. I guess you have come to your senses and know you stand no chance against the Beautiful People. Jimmy Garvin: Again… you must be a little slow on the uptake… there will be an intergender match next week but Precious will not be involved. Instead, my partner will be Wonder Woman’s Wrestling star, Lisa Moretti. Moretti, who was wearing a jacket, slowly removes it and reveals a pretty ripped body. Woman is beside herself as she was pretty confident that she could beat Precious, but she is really intimidated by the guns of Moretti. Poffo is screaming this is not what he signed up for but Precious, while giggling, pulls out the contract which proves it will be Garvin and Moretti taking on Poffo and Woman. They do a whole lot of protesting until Les Thatcher comes out and tells them that if they still want a job here in CCW, they better be in the Boutwell Auditorium next week. SOUTHEASTERN TITLE TOURNAMENT: SEMI-FINALS Wendell “Wild Cat” Cooley defeats Mr. Olympia in this battle of the babyfaces when Olympia hit a top rope bodyblock on a standing Olympia but the momentum carried Cooley on top of Olympia where the ref made the 3 count. This bout was really technical, but it did look like Mr. Olympia was ready to sucker punch Cooley on one occasion as Cooley turned his back for just an instance. Olympia seemed to get Cooley to believe that he was only kidding. The Dirty White Boy defeated Brad Armstrong after he busted open that cut from earlier with the small chain. The blood was so bad that Brad was just flailing wildly hoping to connected with the DWB. Due to the injury and the chain, the DWB just toyed with Brad until he finally hit the Bucksnort Blaster. Bob Armstrong came down to the ring to help his son back to the locker room and vowed that next week he and Brad would give Tommy and Johnny Rich exactly what they deserve when they take their Continental Tag team titles. SOUTHEASTERN TITLE TOURNAMENT: FINALS Wendell “Wild Cat” Cooley defeated the Dirty White Boy in a physical contest that came to an end when Cooley blocked the Blaster and followed it up with a powerslam. Gordon Solie: Congratulations to Wendell…. The new Southeastern Champion. So long from the Heart of Dixie.

    AWA Major League Wrestling

AWA is full of excitement this week.... Dan Spivey getting Kevin Kelly back on track might mean trouble for everyone else. It doesn't matter who the Russian is... it sells! Ustinov did a nice job bringing the heat! My God.... Colon, if he ever recovers.... now has Kamala do deal with. It's like Colon did something to you and you just want him to fight monster after monster! LOL Rugged Ron and THe Heartthrob both seem to be on their game this week. Henig & Adias vs Snowman and Cash.... Interesting. I never trust this bayface vs babyface bouts. Moretti was so good in real life. Not sure why the WWF just used him as a jobber. Like him making a name for himself here with the chain. The Beauty Shop gets the role of introducing the RnR Express.... Brenda is getting bigger each and every week. The tag division just got real interesting. The Highway Men-Cabin Fever should be WILD!! Really enjoyed the main event... Paul Jones and his stable might have bitten off more than they can chew. I like how Lawler gives these show ending interviews. It just proves he is the King! On to the Mecca: The Highway Men and Cabin Fever could wrestle everyday in one of those early matches and the crowd would still watch. Duke Myers might just turn Gagne into a title contender. Perfect finish for Rocky Johnson and Idol. Now we can just do it over and over again. The same goes for the Cartel and the Superfly's Nice job for Steamboat this week. These matches are good for him as each win over a major heel legitamizes him as the champ.

    World Wrestling Federation (2.0)

As for Superstars.... loved the whole show as the build and main event were great. Will we get Schultz vs Sgt or will Bruno come to the aid of his son. Either way it will be great. Moracco vs Pedro is always one the crowd loves. Sting and the Fantastics are a nice pairing early in Stings career. Don't people ever learn....to upset Andre before the match! As for the Garden... Great show. You really have these monthly events down.... I don't know how you do it with such a stacked roster. Such ability to have big stars always going after each other and still they always remaining strong and looking good.

Vegas Vengence looks great. Since we are betting here.... I got the Midnight Express in the battle to be the number 1 contetenders after their Super Bowl of Tag Team Wrestling Tourny....

    Western States Wrestling

Western States is must read every week! Awesome job. I thought Tojo was PERFECT in the first segment. He almost sounded believable with his reason his team is the champion. Can't wait for Dory's mystery partner next week after Dory got the big win against Duk. This is the perfect territoy for a young Windham to go out on his own. Can't wait till he goes after Akbar with a running bulldog and the headdress comes flying off the Saudi. Nice job getting some heat with the fans with Smirnoff and the Heart Punch. I like Dusek in this role and you used him very well. I also think it is a great choice to use the weekly show at the Sports Arena as the place to be. It is kind if like Memphis and the Mid-South Coliseum or the Boutwell Aud for CCW. Tsurata with the win over Al Perez.... I could see him battling Dory for some title almost every week. He is a huge star and with Tojo could be the biggest heel West Texas has ever seen. I loved the nickname of Johnny Mantel. A match between he and Embry.... AWESOME. This could be one huge feud if you ever wanted it to be. Embry and his crying all the time is another perfect heel out there in the rugged portion of our country. Good semifinals matches and I think you set this entire tourny up perfectly. It gave us an extensive look into where you value everyone on your roster. Tojo and the Asian Mist from his team.... they might need some extra security in the Sports Arena soon. These guys are HATED already. Never mind... they are even more hated now.... Jumbo over Dory in his type of technical match.... I think the entire WSW needs some help against Zaibatsu. Thanks for all the time spent on this. Hope you enjoyed writing it as much as we enjoyed reading it.

WITH JIM ROSS & BILL WATTS MAY 1, 1986 IRISH McNEIL’S BOYS CLUB SHREVEPORT,LA Jim Ross: Hey everybody! I’m Jim Ross and it’s certainly my privilege to have NWA President, Cowboy Bill Watts as my partner on today’s show. Thank you, Bill, for being with us. Folks, we have so much to get to tonight after a wild night of Wrestling from the Sportatorium in Dallas last week. Bill Watts: You said a mouth full there Jim. First, congratulations to the new Mid-South tag team champions, “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes and Blackjack Mulligan. They were able to somehow, be the last team standing in that tremendous tag team tournament. Jim Ross: That was one of the best tournaments I have seen in a long, long time. We also have a new North American Champion as Terry Gordy beat Jake “the Snake” Roberts. Bill Watts: The question is…. Is Terry Gordy still a member of the Freebirds? Jim Ross: We will hopefully get an answer to the question a little later as we will hear from both Michael Hayes and Terry Gordy. Bill Watts: That will be interesting as will be “The Russian Nightmare” Nikita Koloff’s first match since he nearly became the NWA World Champion in Dallas. Jim Ross: Wow… that was some match he had with Magnum T.A. and even Magnum would say he is lucky to still be the champ! Instead of giving match results today, I am going to update everybody on a few wrestlers…. 1. Michael Hayes & Terry Gordy Michael Hayes participated in singles competition tonight against Vernon Biggs. Ross and Watts made a big deal of Hayes wrestling alone which they speculated meant the end to the Freebirds. After the match we get an emotional interview with Hayes. Jim Ross: I got to ask…. Why did you attack your fellow freebird, Terry Gordy at the Sportatorium? Michael Hayes: (rather subdued) Jim Ross…. You know that tag team wrestling has always been kind of my specialty. In fact… it has been the specialty of the Fabulous Freebirds. When I first came back to the NWA 4 months ago, I told you that I almost left wrestling. I told you if not for a buddy of mine, I would have been happy partying down on Bad Street USA. The reason I was done was that Terry “Bam Bam” Gordy had gotten to full of himself out on the West Coast. He started putting himself in front of the Freebirds and going after singles titles. Buddy Jack and I gave him our blessing as long as he put the team first. Well, Terry and his ego couldn’t do that. He always had to be the man. Instead of being satisfied by being the best tag team in the world, he had to be the center of attention. I almost lost my cool out there on the West Coast but instead of attacking my brother, I decided to take my ball and go home. Well Terry came to me around New Year’s Eve and said… Michael…. Let’s put our problems behind us. Let’s put the band back together again. Let’s get Freebird Mania back to where it belongs! Me being the man that I am was willing to let by gones be by gones. Let’s fast forward to the other night? Who decided the Mid-South Tag Team Titles weren’t enough? Terry Gordy. Who decided he had to go after the NWA North American Title on the same night as the big tournament? Terry Gordy. Who cost us the titles? Terry Gordy. I mean how much more do I have to take…. The ANSWER IS NO MORE. Terry, you and I aren’t through but we are through being on the same side. There is a lot more fight in this Freebird…. And it really hurts me to wonder if there will ever be The Freebirds again. While the new North American Champion, Terry Gordy was not in Shreveport, we did see a quick clip of Gordy after he was hit with a chair by Michael Hayes in the Sportatorium and he kept screaming….. Why? Over and over again. 2. Wahoo McDaniel: Jim Ross informed us that Wahoo will not be with us for the foreseeable future as he has some contractual obligations all over the country. He explains that Wahoo is disappointed that he was not able to be here tonight and that he guarantees that he is healthy and fully recovered from the attack by Kevin Sullivan and that he will try to be back in the NWA real soon. 3. Ted Dibiase & Dr. Death Steve Williams To say that the NWA World Tag Team champs are fuming is an understatement. They are white hot after their recent trip to Amarillo where Tojo Yamamoto’s Zaibatsu stable of Mr. Pogo, Kendo Nagasaki, Kim Duk and Jumbo Tsurata not only attacked them after their victory over Pogo and Nagasaki but they STOLE the NWA tag titles. This interview was so full of Japanese slurs that even the very patriotic Bill Watts was a little offended. Dibiase and Dr. Death ended the interview by saying that Zaibatsu better return these titles if they know what is good for them. Bill Watts tried to calm the champs down by letting them know that whether or not they have the actual belts doesn’t matter as they are still recognized as the champs. This does little to help the demeanor of Dibiase and Doc. 4. Nikita Koloff with Uncle Ivan and Kruscher Kruschev After having the bell sound for the time limit draw just before the ref was to complete the 3 count making Nikita Koloff the NWA World Champ, you could bet that the Russians were red hot once again. Think of every name in the book that Ivan could have called the cheating Americans and you still would have missed a few. Ivan did end the interview by making some sense here as he said that even though Magnum T.A. is still the so-called NWA World Champion, he knows that he could never beat Nikita. Ivan went on to announce that he and Kruscher are also coming after the NWA Mid-South Tag team champions, “The American Dream” and Blackjack Mulligan. 5. Hacksaw Butch Reed In an interview with Bill Watts, it is apparent that Reed, the Mid-South Champion, is not the least bit concerned with One Man Gang and Ernie Ladd and that he is looking forward to next week’s match against the fat man in the Sam Houston Coliseum. 6. Harley Race & Bruiser Brody Another group full of anger this week as they want a piece of Larry Zbyszko and Tarzan Goto after they were attacked during the recent tag team tournament. This will be another bout the fans in Houston are looking forward to next week. 7. Leon “Baby Bull” White This was by far the strangest and scariest moment of the night. Leon was with Jim Ross saying that his broken arm was just about heeled and that he should be back in action in just a week or so. This is when Kevin Sullivan, the man responsible for the injury, appeared. Ross wanted no trouble and Sullivan guaranteed that there would be none but it was “Time for the transformation to begin.” When asked what that meant, Sullivan just started to laugh. This is when two huge men wearing dark hoods, presumable Haku and the Barbarian, came up from behind White and put a hood over Leon. They quickly secured it and tied his hands behind his back. Sullivan stopped laughing long enough to say, “Let’s Go.” The trio quickly dragged Leon out as Ross and Watts were calling for help. Dusty and Mulligan raced out but were to late. Sullivan was gone. Jim Ross: Folks, I have no idea what has just happened. We will try and have some answers for you next week. So long from the Pelican state.

APRIL 24, 1986 BOUTWELL AUDITORIUM BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA THE BOUTWELL AUDITORIUM: APRIL 19 Gordon Solie: Thank you. Thank you so very much and welcome once again to Continental Championship Wrestling sanctioned by the National Wrestling Alliance, the oldest and largest sanctioning body the world over. First of all, we are 2 days from the one-night tournament to crown a new Southeastern Champion so if you are anywhere near the Boutwell Auditorium, be there as history is going to be made. The good thing is that you don’t have to wait until Monday to see great Continental Championship Wrestling action. Tonight, we have a great show instore for you. We will see the rematch between Doug Gilbert and Robert Fuller. It will be Buddy Landel and Jimmy Golden vs Ricky Gibson and Norvell Austin. We have an NWA Jr. Heavyweight match between champion Tim Horner and “Mr. Electricity,” Steve Regal. That’s not all folks. We have a great main event as it will be Dick Slater and Mr. Olympia vs The Masked Superstars. Before we get to the ring, we have a real treat for everyone. Tennessee wrestling legend, Tommy Gilbert, who has held over 40 wrestling championships in his career, is with us tonight. Gilbert gets a nice hand as he comes out. LITTLE DIFFERNET FORM… Trying not to fall behind. Match #1: Robert Fuller with Ronnie P. Gossett vs Doug Gilbert Tommy Gilbert tells Gordon Solie that after spending over 15 years in the business that he retired from wrestling last June and he has enjoyed traveling around the country seeing his sons wrestle. He says he is just getting back from seeing Eddie wrestling on the west coast and he thought he would come down to Alabama to see Doug tonight. Gordon does let Tommy know that Doug has a lot of potential and doesn’t back down from anyone and tonight, he asked for a rematch with none other than Robert Fuller. As Fuller comes out to the ring, he goes up to Tommy Gilbert and offer his hand and lets him know that they may have had some real battles in the ring but that he always respected him. Gilbert hesitates a little but shakes his hand. Fuller heads to the ring and attacks Doug Gilbert before the bout starts and he never lets up. Gilbert attempts to fight back but it is futile. Fuller is amped up to prove that last week’s near pin by Gilbert was a fluke and he does a good job of using every questionable tactic in the book to prove that point. At one point, he takes Gilbert outside and slams his head into the ringpost; busting open the youngster. As the blood becomes excessive, we get that giant X across the screen to shield the fans at home from the violence. Fuller could have pinned Gilbert anytime he wanted to but instead locked in the Fuller Leg Lock. Gilbert quickly submits but Fuller refuses to release the hold. After about a minute, Doug’s father can take no more and hits the ring. Tommy gets in a few good blows on Fuller before the leader of the Stud Stable rolls out of the ring. Fuller is on the outside with a wide grin on his face and he is pointing to Tommy and warning him to be careful. MATCH #2: “The Nature Boy” Buddy Landel & Jimmy Golden with Ronnie P. Gossett vs Ricky Gibson & Norvell Austin All 4 men in the ring do a good job of bumping and selling and there were a few near pins on the heels where Ronnie P. had to put his team’s leg across the bottom rope. In the end Ronnie P. strikes again as he trips up Ricky Gibson which allowed Buddy Landel to hit a corkscrew elbow drop for the win. The heels really gloat and antagonize the fans are their way back to the locker room. INTERVIEW: Luscious Lanny Poffo & Women Gordon wants to know why Lanny and Women came to Continental Championship Wrestling just to go after “Gorgeous” Jimmy Garvin and Precious. Poffo explains that he was sick and tired of hearing Garvin and Precious talk about themselves and how they were the best-looking couple in all of wrestling. Poffo goes on to explain that he wore the mask just to hear what Garvin would say and each week, he would come out here and say how ugly I must be to have to cover up my face. Well as everyone can see, I, Luscious Lanny, am so much better looking than Garvin. Woman takes over and reminds everyone about the major chop job she did last week on Precious’ hair and now she is just like the rest of the women around here who should stay home and hide their ugly faces. She goes on to say that it is obvious to all that Lanny and I are the most beautiful couple in all of wrestling. We are the Beautiful People! Gordon Solie: I do think you two have a poor sense of what it important and after what you did to the hair of Jimmy and Precious last week, I might make sure I sleep with one eye open. MATCH #3: NWA Jr. Heavyweight Title Match Tim Horner © vs “Mr. Electricity,” Steve Regal. This match is fast paces, action packed with a lot of technical wrestling and after Regal took it to the gutter, a lot of brawling inside and outside of the ring. Gordon Solie was impressed by both men and says as of now, they have both separated themselves from the pack and are clearly the two best Jr. Heavyweights in the NWA. As for the result, nothing seems to have been settled as we get a 15-minute draw. Both men were frustrated with the result and Regal attacked Horner as he was leaving the ring. This just started the brawl all over again and this time, the refs and officials from the back had to separate them. INTERVIEW: “Gorgeous” Jimmy Garvin and Precious come out to respond to the earlier comments from Lanny Poffo and Women. Precious is wearing a hat to cover up the evidence of last week’s attack with the scissors. Jimmy laughs at the fact that Poffo and Woman called themselves the Beautiful People, but he also wants some revenge for the previous scissor attacks of the last two weeks. He says real wrestlers settle their scores in the ring and not by sneaking up on people from behind and cutting their hair. He dares them to come out a sign a contract for a match in two weeks…. An intergender match. Gordon let’s everyone know that Poffo and Woman have already left the building and we will have to wait until next week to get their answer. INTERVIEW: Brad Armstrong comes out and is fuming about being Tarred and Feathered last week by Tommy & Johnny Rich. He says that Jimmy Garvin took the words right out of his mouth as he is here to challenge Tommy Rich and Johnny Rich to a Continental Tag Team Title Match against the Armstrongs in two weeks right here in the Boutwell Auditorium. As he pulls out the contract, Tommy and Johnny come out laughing about how it would be great to beat on Steve or Scott Armstrong again next week and quickly sign the paper. All of a sudden, Dick Slater comes out to the interview desk where he apologizes to Brad for interrupting and warns the Rich cousins to stay out of his way if they know what’s good for them. Slater goes on to explain that he just got a phone call from Mr. Olympia and that he has car trouble and will not be able to make his match tonight where he was going to tag with Dick Slater against The Masked Superstars. Les Thatcher comes out and explains to Dick Slater that he will be allowed to pick a replacement for tonight’s match. Slater quickly turns to Brad and asks him but Brad says that he would love to, but he might have a better idea. How about my tag team partner for next week’s match against these two losers off here be your partner tonight. Johnny and Tommy start laughing at the idea that Steve or Scott Armstrong was going to be Slater’s tag team partner when all of a sudden Brad interrupts…..”I guess you two didn’t read the contract very closely before signing it. My partner next week is neither Steve or Scott. Johnny Rich: But you said it will be the Rich cousin’s vs the Armstrongs. The crowd starts to stir….. Brad Armstrong: Oh, it will be indeed! The crowd explodes as “Bullet” Bob Armstrong comes out! Tommy and Johnny are in shock. They do a quick little complaining before they decide it best to depart. Bob Armstrong: Well, I am home everybody! It seems things have gone a little crazy in my absence but it is time to get everything back in order. While I was in the back, I heard you say you needed a partner for tonight Dick… Sounds like a plan. MAIN EVENT: The Masked Superstars vs Dick Slater & Bob Armstrong As always seems to be the case in CCW, the brawl is on. Back and forth we go. In the end, Bob Armstrong connects with the Georgia Jawbreaker on Masked Superstar #2 for the pin as Slater clobbered Superstar #1 with a huge right hand to stop him from making the save. DARK MATCHES: 4 Corner Tag Team Elimination Match: $5000 to the Winners: The Grappler & The Dirty White Boy vs Sweet Brown Sugar & Wendell Cooley vs Dream Machine & Iron Mike Sharpe vs Brad Armstrong (He has no partner due to the no show of Mr. Olympia): This match is all about hyping up next week’s Southeastern Title tournament as all of the men in this match will be battling it out for the title next week. In the end, The Grappler and The Dirty White Boy take home the cash as they defeated SBW and Wendell Cooley in the end when the Dirty White Boy hit a face first suplex on Sugar. Scott & Steve Armstrong defeated Ron Slinker & Ken Timbs when Scott came off the top rope for a missile drop kick. Gorgeous Jimmy Garvin defeated “Hollywood” John Tatum with the Brainbuster.

    Western States Wrestling

Awesome first show. Like how you kept the name of the Glamour Boys from the past. Good opening match with a lot of action. Akbar proves to be a force in the second match. I bet Kendall is ging to be looking for revenge. Smirnoff is great on this roster even if he only wins TV squash matches. He gets the crowd into it and pumps them up for the bigger matches. Embry and Somers are just the kind of guys West Texas people would love to hate in the 80's. Nice pairing. I like Johnny getting the win here. He has a chance to be one of your top stars. OH BOY.... Doc & Dibiase get Pearl Harbored by some real Japanese sneak attacks... AND THEN TAKE THE TITLES..... THIS MEANS WAR!!!! The broadway between T.A. and Dory shiuld do a lot for Western States Wrestling. AWESOME START!! So glad you joined us.
