Still don't know why Santos Escobar is toiling in NXT when he's everything Vince has wanted for the last, what, 15 years or so? A Hispanic star fluent in English and Spanish, who's also a great wrestler and a good looking dude.

That's also something that baffles me. They've been trying to have someone to replace Rey Mysterio as their top hispanic star for years and now that they have one, they keep him on NXT?

Apparently, it might be the age thing on the main roster. Santos is 40, I believe, and WWE seems to be more worried than ever about their aging main roster stars. Personally, when you got someone as good as Santos, age shouldn't be an issue. Get him on that main roster now.

  3. I also was stunned at the size discrepancy between Low Ki and Timothy Thatcher. The only Thatcher match I had seen prior to his signing with WWE was the match he had vs Davey Boy Smith Jr on a later episode of MLW Fusion and obviously, DBS Jr is pretty tall but I didn't expect the gap to be that obvious between Ki and Thatcher.

I wasn't that bothered by the CONTRA promo right in the middle of the match but I can understand how it could be the case for some people, especially when we're witnessing between both guys. It's so great to see Thatcher work meticulously throughout a match and it was awesome to see Low Ki being put in a situation where he's not really the aggressor in a match and Thatcher dictating more of the pace. That finishing sequence was really dope with Thatcher being able to counter the Dragon Clutch and Low Ki improvising his way into that modified Triangle Choke.

I had used wrestlingdata.com which never had him in more than 10 matches after 88.  I just checked cagematch.net which has him over 10 in 1996. I will change it now.  Thanks for the info

Temporarily interrupting this convo but for this situation, it's good to have multiple reference sites because both Cagematch and wrestlingdata are great in their own way but one often misses infos that the other doesn't have. So better use that together to make things work.

End of interruption and back to your regular scheduled programming

Jericho on commentary has entered so bad it's good territory for me. I popped when he put Punk over as a trained MMA fighter as well as for his Grapplers Anonymous dad joke. By the way, is there any rhyme or reason to when Punk wears trunks and when he wears longboys?

I know that Punk actually did a Twitter poll recently to ask if he should bring back the longboys or stick with the trunks but I don't know if it's related to that match or the previous one with Hobbs (as he wore the trunks for that one)

  16. The big issue with hockey right now is racism. And while yes, it has a tendency to police itself better, I wouldn't put the sport in a beacon of inclusiveness since hockey is probably the sport who's the most set in its old ways than any other.
