  1. A good match that tried to tell an interesting in-match story, but a little too much comedy at times for a title match from my view. This is almost a competitive squash for a big part of this, but then it kicks into high gear in the last few minutes when AR Fox stops trying to out-Riddle Matt Riddle and starts wrestling more as himself. The ringside seconds added a lot to the nearfalls by getting so excited after all of the big moves, which I am convinced played a big part in getting the crowd to bite so hard on those. This didn't really come across like a main event-level match to me, but it also seemed like an early chapter in a long series between these two, so maybe that's okay for now. ***
  2. Well I certainly wasn't expecting a match of this kind & quality from AR Fox & Shane Strickland! Goddamn, what an awesome grudge battle! They told a great story, the athleticism was great as expected from the two, the brutality was off the charts & the big spots came off as legitimate "holy shit" spots. Absolutely amazing stuff. As of now I think it's my pick for the best match in Lucha Underground's young history. A hell of a war, indeed! ****1/2
  3. I have a feeling that if this had taken place in Reseda instead of Illinois, this would've got some near 5-star MOTYC hype already. This was just an insane, all action spotfest - they started it right away, and it NEVER slowed down. Just pure spot action from start to finish. I think it was really great. ****1/4
  4. This was actually quite a well worked David vs. Goliath trios match. Cage, Steen & Elgin were just throwing the smaller dudes around, while they came back to the match w/ their wacky, flippy hope spots & comebacks. ***1/2
