  6. Really fun and concise hoss battle with them smartly using the 5 minutes they had. I'm not the biggest proponent of sound effect strikes but they can work just like anything else and Strowman's were similar to Reigns' and Harper's who do them well too, the WSS weight shift was a smart counter you don't see often since there aren't a lot of wrestlers bigger than Henry that'd make that spot make sense. Henry catchin Strowman's arm when he went for the clubbing blow is something I could see annoying an all knowing WWE binge watcher if the "go for the move again once you've executed it correctly only to get it countered" pattern is super prominent in WWE (I'm not convinced of that, I think they vary things enough to that it isn't really an issue in general, only when someone telegraphs it) but Henry made it look so cool by milking the arm catch and following it up with a great fired up comeback. ***
  7. A really good TV match. Nice bruiser vs. monster narrative with Finlay simply getting overwhelmed for the majority of the bout and, after an opening, violently attacking Henry's arm to get himself back into the match. Strong selling by Finlay and offensive work by Henry. Neat post match selling of the arm by Henry too. Probably the best Henry match (and performance) I seen outside of maybe the 2006 Rey ones. *** 3/4

  11. Man I watched this a few years ago but wanted to see it again before I gave it a thread and I still can't believe how much Henry made me care about a Lashley comeback. I watched Goldberg/Henry from 2003 before this and although you could see glimpses of what Henry would become he's on another level here. The trash talk and the mileage he gets out of simple shoves early on is unreal. Plus keeping score as he beat down Lashley ("Three for me! Zero for you!") is something I can't believe hasn't been used more often. This makes every Lashley hope spot feel important and when he explodes out of the corner for that clothesline I lost it. This leads to yet another Henry cutoff centered around rib kicks and jaw jacking before Lashley finally is able to get in a sustained period of offense which the crowd eats up. Finish is fine to me considering the positioning of the two at the time and how hard it was for Lashley to actually create offense and you get a post-match Henry beatdown anyway.
