  1. These type of garbage brawl meets Kings Road matches haven't aged very well. The dueling chairs spot, guys getting hit in the head with trash, the wandering crowd brawling, you've just seen it too many times, and FMW seeming dry and heatless by 1998 doesn't help. Still Kanemura's performance here was enjoyable, he worked the arm like a fiend during the opening section, even going back on it with some nice Fujiwaras later on, bloodied his opponent and worked the cut good, and bumped like Misawa, taking a german suplex on his head and a nasty guilltone drop into the corner steel. Kuroda pretty much does the same spots in every damn match he's in so Kanemura getting some interesting exchanges out of him was impressive.
  2. This was OK. The crowd was somewhat quiet and as much as I like Gannosuke, I usually end up disliking Kuroda as I find him annoying and his work dull most of the time. In his defense, his stuff does seem to connect with a lot of the crowd (despite my disliking) so he has that going for him. And I do dig his Kuroda Crunch which is his throat drop on the turnbuckle support. I did dig him trying his dumb extensive running through the crowd lariat only to find out Gannosuke had rolled into the ring. He also tried that corner knee spot he usually does, but Gannosuke hit him with an ax kick and then proceeded to roll outside and mock him. Gannosuke also gets quite a nasty Ric Flair-esque 1986 gusher after running into the ring post. Sucks Kuroda doesn't try and exploit this by punching or sticking his nails into it or at least going after it in some way. Aside from Gannosuke's false finishes with the Gannosuke Clutch, the finish felt pretty flat with Kuroda spamming lariat before putting Gannosuke down with a double underhook facebuster. What bums me about this, is that this was somewhat the mold of a lot of the big FMW singles matches from this WEW period.
  3. This is a barbed wire street fight scramble bunkhouse double hell death match. So what that really means is there's a barbed wire bat hanging on top of the ring with two sides of the ropes covered in barbed wire a ladder to grab the barbed bat some boards covered in barbed wire on the outside of the ring and a table in the ring. This is nowhere near as chaotic or fun as the previous Onita Pro no rope barbed multi man main event matches we have previously throughout the year. I don't want to sound negative or extremely nitpicky, but this felt actually pretty coordinated at times. I also disliked how they built towards the scramble for the baseball wire bat, yet it wasn't really used with much significance and was just used as another prop in the match. Thought this was rather underwhelming. I guess my taste in wrestling have changed drastically as I was really high on these back when I originally watched all of these FMW matches some 15 or so years ago.
