  1. This isn't the best Hideki Suzuki match of 2016 but it might be the one that would be the best to recommend someone not familiar with him in order for them to understand what makes him a special performer. Shinobu differs from other modern japanese juniors due to his ability to sell but he is still a modern japanese junior and will take too much if you don't reel him in like Suzuki did here. His submissions are great, he does awesome stuff like knee someone in the head while holding them in a cravate and his finishes seem to have a lot of variety while being gratifying and fitting the goal of the match. ***1/2
  2. This was fun as expected, it's always a joy to watch Big Dog vs smaller guys and Shinobu is a pretty good in the role of a junior who will just die but can pull off comebacks with insane highspots. This wasn't the greatest thing ever but there was a lot of good stuff in there like Ishikawa using his strength to brush off any serious attempts of obtaining control Shinobu had and the general intensity Ishikawa brings in any match he's in. One of my favourite moments in this match was when Shinobu hit Ishikawa with a series of elbows and was about to run the ropes to do the classic spot where he takes the bigger man down but Ishikawa just grabbed him from behind and killed him with a sleeper suplex. I wasn't big on Shinobu pulling the top rope to transition into offence and didn't really buy his Asai Moonsault, at least kick the guy in the face before jumping on him. Some stuff was a little rough around the edges but the finish was excellently build, Shinobu uses an Armbar as his flash finish and has beaten the biggest names in Big Japan with it and I loved how they tied that in to Ishikawa getting more frustrated and just killing Shinobu with shoot headbutts for the finish. A strong ***.
  3. You know what's also classic All Japan? Injury/KO angles(ok, I thiiiink I've heard in the mean time it was a legit KO but hey, why let the truth get in the way of a good story?). I guess this wasn't a big enough tag for Okabayashi to pull a Jumbo and stretch it out but man I hope they do eventually do something like that. Hierarchy comes into play once again-skinny boy Shinobu can't match Okabayashi in strike exchanges, Maruyama-holy shit I thought he was like a young boy or something but it appears he used to be Tigers Mask. Not that it matters much. He's here to eat D-Hash kicks and YOU will enjoy it. Speaking of.......Shinya's son has grown and is now a solid threat to the biggest dog in BigJapan. Fun fun fun fun fun.
