  1. Short little match but they go nuts having a bit of everything in one setting and it works perfectly. Tajiri at one point, goes from saying Guido's tights stink when he pulls them in the "show you arse" spot to going to town on Guido's cut which he split open with two consecutive running chair shots. This isn't just the Yoshihiro Tajiri show though. Guido is great in the match. Love his selling, he brought tons of aggressiveness to his offence and his playing to the crowd only got them more into it. ***3/4
  2. This was a classic blood bath as Tajiri finally fights back against Corino and just destroys him. Tajiri is a sadistic monster wiping Corino's blood on his chest and killing him with kicks and putting him through tables. Corino (the heel) makes a few valiant comeback attempts, but he can't match Tajiri. I LOVE this match and have it at about ****1/4.
  3. About 12 of 21 minutes shown. Too bad because this looked like some of the best junior action of the year. The lucha vs. Shootstyle matwork they did was just beautiful – so smooth and Tajiri knew exactly to go into desperation mode whenever Hidaka locked in a hold. These are of course two guys with high end movesets and spectacular spots galore, but everything made sense and they never got overly cute.
  4. This was alright, though more like your red hot New Japan juniors fare than what you'd typically associate with Battlarts. Still, red hot is red hot and it had excellent heat. You'd think they'd hit a point of diminishing returns with the nearfalls considering literally every pin attempt from word one was a 2.999 count, but the crowd didn't seem to peak early. Tajiri was rolling out all sorts of lucha submissions like a nippy little Blue Panther and you're reminded that he worked Mexico for a minute there. I don't love Tanaka, but he's crisp and his stuff looks good so...that's a thing, I guess.

    [2014-02-27-WNC] Tajiri vs StarBuck

Started off with some pretty good work on the mat, but once Tajiri started unleashing those deadly kicks of his & started targeting 'Buck's arm, things got really good. Tajiri was truly awesome working the heat on StarBuck, and StarBuck's comebacks were solid. A very good match for sure. ***1/2
