[1995-04-29-WCW-Saturday Night] Diamond Dallas Page vignette

Recommended Posts

DDP, Kimberly and Maxx Muscle shop for jewelry, and we get Kimberly trying on multiple hats.

DDP looks at art while classical music plays, which is pretty funny, then we have Saved By The Bell graphics while Kimberly gets a makeover. She tries on a wedding dress, which makes DDP nearly choke on his cigar. Entertaining stuff.

Guest DWS

I didn't watch much WCW before 1995 or so, but these skits were the first time I remember hearing him referred to as "DDP". I thought: "hey, that sounds kinda' cool. They should use that more". Am I off-base on this?

(I probably am, but the world revolves around ME, goshdarnit)

I'm going through WCW TV 91, and actually, on his very first TV match, Page is referred to by Jim Ross as DDP once, probably because Page was wearing a belt with "DDP" on it. Funny fact, he was teaming with Scott Hall as the Diamond Exchange, and one of the jobber (with offense) they faced was Brian Lee.

More funny stuff. DDP's got the repulsive nouveau riche attitude down pat, complete with poseur attitude toward contemporary paintings. And Kimberly is SO adorable.

Better than last week's, though the wedding dress thing is a funny concept done in by bad editing. I don't mind looking at Kim in these, no sir. Maxx Muscle is way more entertaining than he should be, or than I remember--"absolutely."
