[1995-07-08-WCW-Saturday Night] Dungeon of Doom vignette

Recommended Posts

"Father, I'm looking into the sea and I just don't understand!"

"Come to me, my son! The next warrior comes from 200,000 leagues from the bottom of the sea. The scavenger of the seven seas and the four oceans."

Anyway, this is all leading to John Tenta being repackaged as Shark and joining the Dungeon of Doom.

SHARK ATTACK. SHARK ATTACK. SHARK ATTACK. SHARK ATTACK.

I RODE A TIDAL WAVE FROM THE SOUTH CHINA SEA TO WAIKIKI, AND NOW I'M ON YOUR HOME TURF.

Love Tenta but I always thought the story he told about changing his Tiger tattoo into a Shark tat after they gave him this gimmick was one of the stupidest things ever.

As these are progressing, I can't help but think how perfect Sullivan would've been in ECW at this point and instead he's doing this cartoon gimmick. I'm sure he was making a lot more money though so I'm sure he can't complain but sheesh...

Indeed. In the vignette he still has the tiger tatoo.

The "one new monster each week" thing is kinda cool though in an extremely campy cartoon way.

God Bless John Tenta. He gets given the most absurd gimmick imaginable and he comes out and cuts this fantastically energetic promo, putting everything into it.
