This whole story is nuts on all sides. I know spouting out slurs and insults are bad but having the nerve to spit on someone is the most disrespectful thing you can do and cancels out everything the fan did, if that was me I would've been throwing hands. And for a person in Bully Ray who was known back in the day in ECW calling women whores and bitches to get offended has me scratching my head. I know the fan was getting into it with your girl but my dude get a grip and don't be too thin skinned. He better sue with the quickness.

It's probably the worst time for ROH to get that kind of incident come out publicly, considering all the buzz around AEW and all many wish to see a partnership between AEW and NJPW. I got no idea what exactly happened but if what I read here is true, that fan definitely has a case to sue Sinclair and ROH.

Even if the fan is 100% wrong, I would not lose a second of sleep if he brought down the insidious Sinclair Broadcasting or at least cost them a hefty chunk of change. Because fuck Sinclair.

Hopefully AEW is paying attention to this kind of stuff and knows what to avoid. There's a reason ROH never became a major league organization and never will.

The fact that Bubba told the guy not to say anything he wouldn't say to his mom leads me to believe he was going well beyond simply booing the heels and cheering the faces. Even so, this is incredibly bush-league. Getting into an altercation with a fan is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Have him kicked out if he's that out of line.

See I probably would have got my ass beat if I was in that position because my smartass self would not have been able to mention the "your mom taught you how to suck dick" stuff he would say in ECW to the crowds.

According to the fan in question, the one who escorted him to the back was Hunter Johnston, who's apparently dating Mandy Leon.

Not a good look for ROH. I'm sure the guy was not as innocent as he's making himself out to be, but you can't have two guys on the creative team out there acting like they're 1984 Bill Watts.

Angelina Love has my wrestling Twitter blocked, in spite of the fact I've never followed her, never @'ed her, and never so much as even mentioned her. I'm baffled about it to this day.

A lot of celebrities, athletes and wrestlers vanity search. They will search for their name specifically and then block anyone saying anything remotely negative about them. I have had athletes do that to me despite never interacting with them or following them.

Yeah, it honestly makes whatever he did irrelevant because of how they responded.

Is there anyone in wrestling with thinner skin than Bully Ray and Velvet Sky?

They might be tied with The Young Bucks.  They're pretty infamous for vanity searching on Twitter and whining when people say mean stuff about them, preemptively blocking people, etc.  I don't think they've ever dragged anybody backstage and tried to intimidate them, but then again...who would be intimidated by The Young Bucks?

But I think the real reason why tensions were so fraught was that attendance for that weekend of shows stunk so bad.

Remember when some people argued getting Enzo & Cass was the right move ? ;)

An incubator and launching pad for the stars of the future?

At this point they incubate jack shit though. Marty Scurll and Flip Gordon I would guess are AEW bound once their contracts are up. They got PCO, Brody King, Bandido & Rush, which would have been great catch for either NXT, iMPACT or MLW (and now AEW), but they are still pushing Matt Taven as the N°1 challenger to... gasp.... Jay White. ROH seems like a thing of a past at this point in term of relevance. Truly hope NJPW drops them and work with AEW eventually.

There's really no reason for them to not work with them, except culturally a Japanese company will not go back on a partnership unless the other side wronged them somehow. I see it all the time in the video game industry with equally baffling results.

Bubba put a response on Twitter, and nothing he said refuted any part of the original story.

There's simply no way that any of this makes Bubba or ROH look good. The fan may have been a mouthy asshole. But, Velvet was the one who made the virgin remark, and Mandy spit at him. He didn't do anything physical. If Velvet is so sensitive to having someone bring up who she's banging, then she ought to do a better job of making sure it's not public knowledge. Now, if she'd gotten out of rehab recently and the guy made some comment about booze or pills, that's a different story.

Would this even have happened if Velvet wasn't banging Bubba?  I could just picture someone like Veda Scott coming up to him and talking about some mouthy kid in the front row that got under her skin. His likely response would be "You're supposed to be a professional. If you don't have thicker skin, find something else to do!"  I'm hoping like hell that some wise ass fan yells out to Velvet that her boyfriend should teacher her how to suck dick.

That someone was me, and I stand by it.

It's still the most exciting and talked about development that's happened in ROH all year (not counting this Bully Ray nonsense, which wasn't part of the show).

Nothing ROH is doing seems to working, having any kind of impact, moving the needle anymore. Almost everyone there (with a few exceptions, like PCO and Silas Young) are second-rate geeks.

Enzo and Cass can't teach any of the geeks how to wrestle, but it wouldn't hurt ROH one bit if some of their knowledge about character development, cutting promos, drawing money, etc. rubbed off on the rest of the roster.

Instead, we're getting some garbage with Enzo and Cass challenging Jake and Logan Paul, who are spoiled, obnoxious, useless YouTube "celebrity" brats. Not my thing at all, but it will probably get publicity and be seen as a smart business move in retrospect. (Again, just to be clear, I can't stand the idea of it.)

You're all living in a magical land where we're still in the glory days of Samoa Joe, Bryan Danielson, Jimmy Jacobs, BJ Whitmer, etc. That's long gone.

Sorry but... Are you joking ? Knowledge about character development ? Drawing money ? Enzo & Cass were an sing-along introduction, that's about as far as "character development" went. They never drew a dime (don't tell me about those great 205 Live ratings while Enzo was put on top of the purgatory no one cares about). They both got fired from WWE and were legit locker room cancer. Both are garbage. There isn't one positive about signing those two useless goofs. Yeah, sure it made people talk. Mostly say how much that sucked and how it was another reason not to care about ROH.

Hum... that would have been running MSG with NJ. Of course, that was when Omega & the Bucks were still working ROH.

They were more than just a sing along introduction. They were both great promos, especially during the break-up (which never should've happened).

Fair enough point on drawing a dime, as barely anyone in WWE does anymore. Supposedly 205 ratings were up under Enzo, but that might be something I imagined or some bullshit he made up. Either way, John Cena Rey Mysterio (may as well use an example of a wrestler who is actually under 205 pounds) wouldn't be able to save that dead-ass boring shit show, much less Enzo.

As for MSG, "with NJ" and "when Omega & the Bucks were still working ROH" are your key phrases there. Another promotion entirely, and wrestlers no longer with ROH, are literally what drew that house and made that happen.

Well, yeah, basically all comes down to this. Like I said, I want the four guys I mentioned earlier gone in any other promotion but WWE so I can enjoy their work again.

This incident is beyond ridiculous. Makes Velvet look like a bitch (no, a real one I mean), Mandy like a dumb fuck and Bully, well, like himself...

Damn it, you saw and responded to my post before I edited Cena to Mysterio. :P

Anyway, yes, this Bully incident is yet another disgraceful black mark against ROH. Even though I suspect everyone involved was in the wrong - Bully, the fan, the other wrestlers, arena security, ROH, Sinclair, etc. - I still hope the fan sues the hell out of Sinclair and makes out like a bandit.
