[1997-01-27-WCW-Nitro] Randy Anderson, NWO, Rick and Scott Steiner

Recommended Posts

Randy Anderson gets fired for his actions at Souled Out. They mention his battle with cancer while the NWO laughs at him. The Outsiders call the Steiners out to return the belts, as Bischoff has reversed the decision. Bischoff is such an awesome asshole here. Classic segment.

The laugh the Outsiders give randy when Bisch terminates him never gets old. Hall wont even shake his hand on the way out. Randy really sells this. The Steiners return the titles and all is right in the NWO world. Hall wants Dog Faces.

Bischoff is such an asshole here. I don't know if he ever got his return back for his but he totally deserved to get his ass kicked. Randy Anderson gets fired for being involved in the tag match at Souled Out. Bischoff should have been firing his own lax security at the PPV for letting Anderson get into the ring so easily. Steiners give the belts back.

Great Bischoff bullying segment. Just a classic stuff, much like the following week angle. The Outsiders laughing is just awesomely cruel. Anderson plays his role well here, just a referee doing his job and not used to deal with the bullshit and the powerdrunk assholes.

Randy Anderson has taken a personal gift for his help at Souled Out, so for this violation of company policy, Bischoff fires him. Eric is an awesome two-faced asshole pretending to follow HR policy while Hall and Nash guffaw. Bischoff then overturns the decision and demands the Steiners return the belts or be found in breach of contract.

This ruled. Bischoff's reasoning is clearly nonsense, but it's steeped in enough corporate bullshit that you know he can justify it. Hall throwing the toothpick in Anderson's face after Randy talked about his battle with cancer somehow made him come across as more of a prick than the guy firing Randy in the first place, which is quite a feat. Tell me there's a payoff to this. Hall continuing to shit talk the Steiners as they hand the belts back was great as well. Hall and Nash were usually playing everything cool around this point, but there was really nothing about how they acted here that made you want to cheer them. Great stuff.
