*Texas Death Matches in Southwest will not follow the "30 second rest period" rule. The 10 count will be administered right after a fall instead of after a 30 second period.

Southwest Championship Wrestling @ San Antonio, TX - The HemisFair Arena 7/24/83

Ken Lucas & Charlie Cook vs. Ali Bey & The Ninja Warrior - Charlie Cook started the match against Ali Bey and completely dominated him. Ken Lucas & The Ninja Warrior both never get tagged in as Charlie Cook finished Ali Bey off with a flying tackle in only 2 minutes.

Winners: Ken Lucas & Charlie Cook in 2:12

Assassin #1 vs. The Masked Wildfire - Assassin #1 completely dominated The Masked Wildfire and finished him off with an elbow drop across the throat.

Winner: Assassin #1 in 4:50

Jose Lothario & El Gran Apollo vs. Mike Masters & Tiny Anderson - Before the match, Mike Masters gets down on the mat to do push ups and calls for Tiny Anderson to get down and do them also. Tiny Anderson does his push-ups at half the speed of Mike Masters which causes Masters to berate him. Mike Masters starts the match telling Tiny Anderson to "watch how it's done" only to immediately walk into an armdrag and then a dropkick from El Gran Apollo! Mike Masters staggers back into his corner and tags out to Tiny Anderson. Tiny Anderson charges into the ring and also eats an armdrag from El Gran Apollo. Apollo grabs the arm and makes the tag to Jose Lothario. Jose comes in and blasts Tiny Anderson with a right hand! Jose puts an arm bar on Tiny Anderson and pulls him over to the corner to tag in Mike Masters. Masters refuses to tag in so Jose Lothario lets go of the armbar and shoves Anderson into the corner. Mike Masters gives Tiny Anderson some words of advice and encouragement and tells him to stay in the ring. Tiny Anderson & Jose lock up in the middle of the ring and Jose armdrags him and puts him back in the armbar. Jose again drags Anderson to the corner to tag Mike Masters and this time Masters does tag in! Masters has the referee move Jose back before he will step through the ropes. Mike Masters stalls as Jose Lothario wants to lock up with him. Finally Mike Masters steps into the center of the ring and calls for a test of strength. Jose is reluctant but the fans cheer him and he puts his arm up for the test of strength. Masters & Lothario lock hands and then Mike Masters immediately kicks Jose Lothario right between the legs! The referee calls for an immediate DQ as El Gran Apollo comes charging into the ring and Mike Masters bails out! El Gran Apollo checks on Jose Lothario in the ring as Jose holds his injured area while Mike Masters struts around ringside with a cocky smile on his face. Mike Masters & Tiny Anderson leave the ringside area as referee Jack Howe and El Gran Apollo help Jose back to the locker room.

Winners: El Gran Apollo & Jose Lothario by DQ in 7:57 after a low blow by Mike Masters

Assassin #2 vs. Steve Pardee - Steve Pardee frustrates Assassin #2 in the early going by continually countering #2's holds and outwrestling Assassin #2 on the mat. Assassin #2 breaks a Pardee headlock by shoving him into the corner but Pardee bounces off the second turnbuckle and comes back around in a crossbody that catches Assassin #2 by surprise for a nearfall. Pardee grabs the headlock again after Assassin #2's kickout Assassin #2 & Steve Pardee end up in the corner and while referee Juan Reynosa tries to break them up, Assassin #2 pokes Pardee in the eyes. Assassin #2 uses the opening to take over on Pardee and beat him down with vicious forearms and kicks. Assassin #2 grabs an abdominal stretch on Pardee and the crowd starts cheering for Pardee which gives him the strength to break out of the hold with a hiptoss. Pardee tries to whip Assassin #2 into the corner but Assassin #2 reverses it and Pardee tries again for the turnaround crossbody but this time Assassin #2 gets out of the way. Assassin #2 stomps his boot against the mat as Steve Pardee is getting back up and then BLASTS him with a huge running boot. Assassin #2 covers him for the 3 count as the fans at ringside complain about Assassin #2 having a loaded boot.

Winner: Assassin #2 in 9:41 after big boot

3 on 2 Handicap Match: Eddy Mansfield, Terry Adonis & Roy Lee Welch vs. The Fabulous Ones - The Fabulous Ones start this match in total control as the other team suffers all kinds of miscommunication and timing errors causing them to do more damage to themselves than The Fabs. Finally after quite a bit of stooging, the tables finally turn against The Fabs when Steve Keirn goes for his flying forearm but Mansfield ducks and Steve Keirn ends up catching himself throat first across the top rope. Roy Lee Welch & Terry Adonis distract the referee which allows Mansfield to pull out a chain and start choking Steve Keirn with it! Stan Lane tries to come in to help but Welch & Adonis quickly get the referee redirected to stop him from coming in. Steve Keirn winds up in the wrong corner and Mansfield, Adonis & Welch make a series of quick tags so they can keep double and triple teaming him. Mansfield passes the chain off to Roy Lee Welch during the tag. Terry Adonis keeps the referee distracted as Eddy Mansfield holds Steve Keirn from behind and Roy Lee Welch winds up a big punch with the chain but Keirn manages to break free at the last second and Welch ends up blasting Mansfield with the chain instead! Eddy Manfield rolls out of the ring and Steve Keirn makes the tag during the confusion! Stan Lane comes into the ring like a man possessed taking Roy Lee Welch down with a karate kick and then Terry Adonis gets one as well when he tries to come in and help. Lane grabs the heads of Adonis & Welch and rams them together in a meeting of the minds! Stan Lane hits the Russian Legsweep with a float over for the 3 count on Roy Lee Welch as the fans go nuts!

Winners: The Fabulous Ones in 10:12 after a Russian Legsweep

After the match a bloody Eddy Mansfield confronts Roy Lee Welch in the ring about hitting him with the chain. Manfield, Roy Lee Welch & Terry Adonis all argue with each other in the middle of the ring until Mansfield calls for peace. He extends his hand to Roy Lee Welch but while Mansfield is shaking Roy's hand, Adonis blindsides Roy from behind! Mansfield & Adonis put the boots to Roy Lee Welch and leave him laying in the ring as the crowd boos them.

Southwest Heavyweight Title: Bob Sweetan vs. Tully Blanchard - During Bob Sweetan's entrance he gets jumped in the aisle by Fidel Sierra! Sierra rams Bob Sweetan shoulder first into the steel ring post and then picks up the big heavy wooden steps at ringside and slams them down on Bob Sweetan's shoulder. Fidel Sierra runs off after Ken Lucas, Charlie Cook & El Gran Apollo come racing out of the locker room and chase him off. Tully Blanchard comes down to the ring and demands that Juan Reynosa declare him the winner by forfeit. Bob Sweetan refuses to forfeit the match so after giving him time to recover, much to the chagrin of Tully Blanchard, Juan Reynosa officially starts the match.

Tully immediately goes after Bob Sweetan's shoulder, attacking it with elbows and clubbing blows. Tully gets Sweetan down on the mat and sits down on Mr. Piledriver's shoulder and really cranks back on his arm. Tully screams at Sweetan to give it up but Bob won't quit. Tully grabs Sweetan and tries to send him shoulder first through the turnbuckles and into the post but Sweetan reverses it and Tully eats the post! Sweetan grabs Tully and tries to body slam him, but his shoulder gives out when he has Tully halfway up and Tully falls on top of him for a 2 count. Tully again goes back to work on the shoulder of Sweetan, dropping elbows on it and putting him back in an armbar. Sweetan uses the energy of the crowd to fight his way into the ropes. Tully tries for a cheapshot in the ropes but Sweetan ducks and comes back with a punch of his own that floors Tully. Tully gets right back up only to eat another big right hand from Sweetan that sends him down again! Sweetan grabs Tully and pulls him in for the Piledriver! The fans go crazy as Sweetan pulls Tully up in the Piledriver position and drops him down on his head! Sweetan however seems to have done more damage to his shoulder as he stays down on the mat holding his shoulder after the Piledriver. He slowly makes his way over to make the count. 1...2..suddenly Fidel Sierra comes back from out of nowhere and pulls the referee out of the ring! Sierra grabs referee Juan Reynosa and slams his head into the steel ring post! Sierra grabs a chair and gets in the ring and slams it down over Sweetan's injured shoulder! Fidel Sierra & Tully Blanchard put the boots to Bob Sweetan when suddenly Cowboy Scott Casey comes running out with a 2x4 and starts swinging it around which clears the ring! Scott Casey dares Fidel Sierra or Tully to get back in the ring with him and the 2x4 but Tully & Sierra head for high ground.

Winner: Bob Sweetan by DQ in 13:33

Scott Casey attends to Bob Sweetan in the ring as referee Jack Howe comes down to check on Juan Reynosa who is busted open on the outside after the shot into the ring post. Casey helps Sweetan out of the ring when suddenly Killer Khan runs down and jumps him from behind! Killer Khan starts laying into Scott Casey with chops and referee Jack Howe decides he has no choice but to go ahead and start the main event!

Falls Count Anywhere Loser Leaves Texas Death Match: Scott Casey vs. Killer Khan - Killer Khan is all over Scott Casey at the start hitting him with vicious chops and choking him on the ropes as referee Jack Howe can only admonish him since there are NO RULES in a Texas Death match! Killer Khan raises his thumb up in the air, now covered with a hard cast instead of tape, and readies for the death blow! Khan charges in but Scott Casey ducks down as uses Khan's momentum to back body drop Khan over the top rope! Khan lands hard on the outside and Scott Casey follows up his advantage by slamming Khan's head into the steel barricade at ringside. Scott Casey picks Khan up and bodyslams him down on the hard concrete floor of the HemisFair Arena as the crowd goes nuts! Scott Casey fires up with adrenaline of the crowd and grabs Killer Khan's head as he staggers back to his feet and hits his patented Bulldog right outside on the concrete! Scott Casey makes the cover and Jack Howe counts the 3! Jack Howe starts the 10 count on Killer Khan as the crowd counts along. Killer Khan struggles to get back to his feet but he does so by the count of 7.

Scott Casey grabs Killer Khan and tries to go for another bulldog but this time Khan shoves Scott Casey off and Casey goes careening into the wooden steps. Khan follows up by slamming Casey's head down on the steps and then pushing him back into the ring. Killer Khan gets back in the ring himself and picks up the steel chair that's still in the ring from Fidel Sierra's attack on Bob Sweetan. Khan raises it over his head to strike Casey but Casey charges in with a tackle that takes Khan down and sends the chair flying out of the ring. Casey is on top of Khan just raining down punches on him as the crowd goes nuts! Scott Casey gets off of Khan and picks up the 2x4 that he brought to the ring with him! Scott Casey turns around to blast Khan with it but Khan is up too fast and he puts a big boot right between the eyes of Scott Casey! Killer Khan grabs the 2x4 and he blasts Scott Casey with it across the back and then covers him for a 3 count! Jack Howe gets to the count of 6 on Scott Casey before the Cowboy makes it back to his feet.

Killer Khan immediately attacks Casey as soon as he's back up! Khan lays out The Cowboy with a big chop and then climbs on top of him and starts biting his forehead! Killer Khan pulls Casey back up and then bodyslams Scott down and begins to climb up to the top rope! The fans cheer Casey to get back to his feet and as Khan comes off the top rope with a big kneedrop, Scott Casey manages to roll out of the way! Killer Khan is down on the mat holding his knee as The Cowboy gets up bleeding from Killer Khan taking a bite out of his forehead. Scott Casey goes outside the ring and pulls Khan over to the ringpost by the leg and SLAMS his knee into the post! Scott Casey grabs the chair that went flying out of the ring earlier and goes to swing it at Khan's knee that's up against the post but Khan scoots out of the way and Casey's hands take the damage as steel chair meets steel ring post causing him to drop the chair. Scott Casey gets back up on the ring apron but Killer Khan sends him flying off the apron and to the concrete floor with a big boot. Khan steps out through the ropes and comes down on Scott Casey from the apron with a big knee drop across the throat. Killer Khan covers Scott Casey and Jack Howe rushes out of the ring to make the 3 count. The fans cheer for Scott Casey to get back up and he finally staggers back up to his feet at the count of 8.

Killer Khan holds his hard cast covered thumb up in the air and prepares for a death blow against The Cowboy but Casey catches him rushing in with a low dropkick to the knee! Khan goes down and Casey grabs the steel chair and drives it down into Killer Khan's knee and starts grinding into the knee as it's caught between the steel chair and the concrete floor! Scott Casey lays Khan's leg flat against the floor and then slams the chair down over it repeatedly as Killer Khan shrieks in pain! Scott Casey makes the cover and gets a 3 count. Killer Khan struggles to get back to his feet with only one good leg now but he finally makes it up at the count of 9.

As soon as Killer Khan is back to his feet Scott Casey BRAINS him with a brutal chairshot and makes another cover for the 3 count. Jack Howe starts the 10 count but Killer Khan once again manages to get back to his feet, now busted open from the chairshot. Scott Casey has the chair over his head getting ready for another attack but Khan dodges out of the way and jams his cast covered thumb into Scott Casey's shoulder area, causing Scott to drop the chair. Killer Khan really digs the thumb into Casey's shoulder in a modified nerve hold but Scott Casey manages to break out of Khan's grasp by kicking Khan repeatedly in his injured knee. Scott Casey rolls back into the ring and as Khan tries to follow in behind him Scott Casey stomps right on his head! Scott Casey grabs Killer Khan by the head, readying him for another Bulldog but Khan picks Scott Casey up like an atomic drop and then just drops him crotch first on the top rope! Scott Casey falls over into the ring and Killer Khan covers him as Jack Howe counts Casey's shoulders down for the 3.

Jack Howe starts his 10 count but while Scott Casey is still down Killer Khan goes up to the top rope and comes down with a big kneedrop to Casey's throat! Jack Howe goes nuts over Killer Khan attacking Scott Casey during the 10 count! Jack Howe checks on Scott Casey and then restarts the 10 count! Killer Khan goes nuts at Jack Howe restarting the count but Scott Casey struggles back to his feet at the count of 8! Killer Khan puts his thumb up into the air as the crowd screams for Casey to look out! Killer Khan rushes in for the death blow but Scott Casey catches him coming in with a drop toehold! Casey grabs the 2x4 in the ring and slams it down over Khan's head as he gets back up! Khan looks to be knocked out and Scott Casey covers him for 3 count! Scott Casey climbs up to the top rope as Jack Howe begins the count of 10. Killer Khan once again makes it back up at the count of 9 and turns around to see Scott Casey standing on the top rope. Scott Casey comes off the top rope for a double axehandle but Killer Khan moves and Scott Casey comes down throat first right into Killer Khan's cast covered thumb! Scott Casey crumples to the mat and Killer Khan makes the cover for the count of 3! Jack Howe starts the count of 10 as Scott Casey desperately tries to get back to his feet. Scott has both hands on his throat and starts to spit blood! Scott Casey almost makes it back to his feet but crumples at the count of 9 and Killer Khan is the winner!

Winner: Killer Khan in 18:27

The HemisFair Arena feels like someone just sucked all the air out as the crowd goes deathly quiet upon the realization that Killer Khan has won the match and Scott Casey is now gone from Southwest Championship Wrestling! The bloody Killer Khan limps out of the ring and walks back to the locker room, turning around to give a look back at the downed Scott Casey with what one might almost mistake for a look of respect. The Fabulous Ones & Bob Sweetan, with shoulder heavily taped out, come down to the ring and help Scott Casey to the back as the fans who aren't still in shock give him a quiet ovation.

Yeah I'm doing a slow burn so far on my big feud for that reason. I want the final Midnights vs. Rougeaus match to be the big one. I'm more willing to go a little farther with the Can Ams and Tongans earlier to help them get established as a big deal, but I can't see giving away the big one for the first year too quickly.

We've discussed how you run your promotion and it is clear here. I was a fan of seeing Casey come through SW and get a major rub to go back to JCP. The Fabulous Ones are without a doubt one of the top teams in wrestling and Tully is a major star. If the formula stays the same, this will be quite the beneficial promotion for all those involved.

I really enjoyed the main event, surprised by the victor, I don't see monster heels like Khan having long runs in areas, but this certainly gave him the rub to push him even further. The one thing I like about Southwest is that everyone seems to fit very well and everyone seems to have a purpose. I think you have 2 of the top acts in wrestling in 1983 in Tully and The Fabs, and we've still got a Von Erich to come in as well.

Taped at The Junction in San Antonio, TX on 7/25

Southwest Championship Wrestling airing on Saturday 7/30
in local markets

Instead of the usual intro with music & highlights the show opens with a video statement from the owner of Southwest Championship Wrestling, Joe Blanchard.

Joe Blanchard: It takes a big man to admit when he makes a mistake. And after listening to the fans in the Southwest area, I have realized that I made a mistake a few months ago when I broke away from the AWA to create my own World Championship. I have realized the error of my ways and retired the Southwest World Heavyweight Title. I have also paid the re-entry fee into the AWA and from now on Southwest Championship Wrestling will once again be sanctioned by the AWA, with Southwest recognizing Hulk Hogan as the undisputed World Heavyweight Champion and The Wild Bills - Billy Jack & Bill Irwin as the undisputed World Tag Team Champions. I hope to bring the World Heavyweight Champion to the area soon to allow the fans to see The Incredible Hulk Hogan in action, and as we announced weeks ago The Wild Bills will be here this Sunday night competing in the Southwest Tag Team Title tournament which they signed for prior to winning the AWA World Tag Team Titles. We hope the fans will be as excited by this news as we are here in the offices of Southwest Championship Wrestling! We strive to please our fans here and we promise more great stars are on their way to the hottest promotion in wrestling today: Southwest Championship Wrestling!

Steve Stack: Wow fans, that's a monumental announcement from the owner of Southwest Championship Wrestling! We will also hear from the President of the AWA, Stanley Blackburn later in the hour! We have all kinds of news to get to in the hour so don't go away because we'll be right back on Southwest Championship Wrestling!

-First commercial break-

Steve Stack: Welcome back to Southwest Championship Wrestling! I know that the fans who couldn't make it to the HemisFair Arena on Sunday night are surely dying to know the result of the Loser Leaves Texas Death Match between Scott Casey & Killer Khan. Well I know this is going to be a big disappointment to a lot of the fans of Cowboy Scott Casey but Killer Khan was the victor last Sunday night after delivering a blow to Scott Casey's throat with his cast covered thumb. Right now I'd like to show a video tribute that was made for Cowboy Scott Casey for all his years of hard work here in the Southwest area-

Suddenly 'Cuba's Top Gun' Fidel Sierra comes barging onto the interview set

Fidel Sierra: Now hold on a minute! Nobody wants to see a video about Scott Casey! He's gone and he ain't never coming back! What the people here really want to see is me since I have FINALLY allowed myself to be shown on this television show. I still have no plans to wrestle on TV however because NO ONE is going to get any of my matches on tape to scout me.

Steve Stack: Mr. Sierra you are not scheduled to be out here right now, in fact I don't have any interview time for you scheduled today so if you'll please allow me to show the fans the tribute video to Scott Casey -

Fidel Sierra: NO! Nobody wants to see that! I'm out here not to talk about who is already gone, but who is going next! You know what I've done to Bob Sweetan over the last 3 weeks, you've seen him come out here with more and more tape on that shoulder week after week. Well now it's time to finally finish him off for good. This Sunday night I want another match with Sweetan and I'm going to-

Suddenly the President of the AWA, Stanley Blackburn appears on the interview set

Stanley Blackburn: Mr. Sierra I have to inform you that you will not be doing anything to Bob Sweetan on Sunday night nor to anyone else. I have reviewed the tape of your actions last Sunday night where you ran referee Juan Reynosa's head into the ringpost and split him open. This kind of behavior is not going to be tolerated by me or by Southwest Championship Wrestling. I am not Lou Thesz however and I do not intend to fine you for what you did. Instead I am going to suspend you for 90 days!

Fidel Sierra: Suspend me!? You can't suspend me! I'm 'Cuba's Top Gun' you can't do that to me! This will be an international incident!

Stanley Blackburn: I am the President of the AWA, the sanctioning body of Southwest Championship Wrestling and I decide who will and will not be allowed to wrestle here. And you sir WILL be suspended for 90 days! As far as an international incident goes, I'm not sure relations between the United States and Cuba could get any worse so that's a risk I'm just going to have to take. Now unless you'd like to have time added on to your suspension I suggest you leave this interview area and The Junction so that we can get on with today's program.

Fidel Sierra: You haven't heard the last of this! I am going to sue you, the AWA, Southwest Championship Wrestling, whoever it takes! You can't deny me my livelihood!

Fidel Sierra storms out of the interview area with Stanley Blackburn following behind

Steve Stack: Well fans unfortunately I don't think we will have time to show that video of Scott Casey today because we have action getting ready to get started in the ring. Let's go down to ringside now for the first match on today's show.

Ken Lucas & Charlie Cook vs. Eddy Mansfield & Terry Adonis -

Charlie Cook starts the match for his team and bounces around Mansfield & Adonis who both try their luck against him without much success. Cook punches Adonis in the stomach and doubles him over and then tags out to Ken Lucas who comes in and attempt a sunset flip but Adonis goes to Lucas' eyes to counter and sits down on Ken Lucas for a pin but only for the count of 1. Adonis picks Lucas up and whips him into the corner of Adonis/Mansfield where Mansfield begins to choke Ken Lucas with the tag rope while Adonis keeps the referee distracted. Adonis tags out to Mansfield and then the two of them beat on Ken Lucas in their corner. Mansfield goes to his tights when suddenly a buzz goes up from the crowd at The Junction as Roy Lee Welch runs out with his fist wrapped in huge chain! Eddy Mansfield sees him coming and pulls Adonis into the line of fire and then Mansfield runs for his life! Roy Lee Welch BLASTS Terry Adonis with the chain as the referee calls for the DQ! Eddy Mansfield is almost back to the locker room already as Roy Lee Welch is in the ring calling for him to come back!

Steve Stack: It looks like Roy Lee Welch doesn't want to wait until this Sunday night at the HemisFair Arena to get his hands on Eddy Mansfield for the way that Mansfield & Adonis jumped him and left him laying last week! Fans don't go away because when we come back we'll hear from Jose Lothario who has said he has a big surprise for Mike Masters!

-Second commercial break-

Steve Stack: We're back here on Southwest Championship Wrestling! Now I'd like to bring in Jose Lothario who has said he has a big surprise this Sunday night for Mike Masters.

Jose Lothario: You know this guy has disrespected me the last 2 weeks because he is too much of a coward to really fight me. He has been disqualified twice for attacking me below the belt. It's time for someone to teach him a lesson and since I can't do it myself this Sunday because El Gran Apollo and I are going to win the Southwest Tag Team Titles, I made a call to someone who I know has humiliated this man in the past. The people may not know this but when Mike Masters was wrestling in California he was very disrespectful to another great Mexican star. And he was paid back for that disrespect with a bald head! Mike Masters I know that you know who I am talking about! You tried to take the mask of Mil Mascaras and you paid for it by losing your hair! I called Mil and told him you needed to be taught another lesson and he will be at The HemisFair Arena Sunday night to do it! Thank you Steve, that's all I have to say about that.

Steve Stack: Well fans you just heard it, this Sunday night at The HemisFair Arena we will see Mil Mascaras face off against Mike Masters! Now let's send it down to the ring where we have Steve Pardee in action against The Ninja Warrior.

Steve Pardee vs. The Ninja Warrior -

The Ninja Warrior tries to turn the match into a brawl by going for karate chops but Pardee grabs his arm coming in and armdrags him over and clamps down on an armbar. Pardee spins around behind him with it and then takes him down with another armdrag. The Ninja Warrior comes rushing at him after getting back up but Pardee counters it into a drop toehold and then grabs a headlock. Ninja Warrior tries to push Steve Pardee off but instead Steve Pardee uses the momentum to hit a Bulldog on The Ninja Warrior. Steve Pardee makes the cover for the count of 3 and a quick victory over The Ninja Warrior.

Steve Stack: Shades of The Cowboy Scott Casey! The fans in The Junction loved seeing Steve Pardee win that match with a Bulldog! Fans we've got to honor our commercial commitments to our sponsors but don't touch that dial because when we come back we will talk to Mr. Piledriver himself, Bob Sweetan!

-Third commercial break-

Steve Stack: Welcome back to Southwest Championship Wrestling! I planned to have Bob Sweetan out here with me now but instead Lord Alfred Hayes has demanded that he speak first.

Lord Alfred Hayes: Steven Stack what is this about? Why are you trying to impugn my integrity by saying that I have demanded this time?. I am a gentleman, a simple man of letters and I only REQUESTED that you allow me this time to speak. I have very important things to say that the fans of Southwest Championship Wrestling need to hear. Joe Blanchard opened this show by saying it takes a great man to admit his mistakes and I am nothing if not that. And that's why I have also come on this program today, to admit that I made a mistake. A few weeks ago I told the people that I would bring them the greatest athlete that the state of Texas had ever seen, and that he would become the greatest champion Southwest Championship Wrestling had ever known. Unfortunately I made some miscalculations. Moose Cholak was just not prepared for the job and this left me with no alternative but to find another, more suitable, man for the task.

Steve Stack: Someone a bit younger perhaps?

Lord Alfred Hayes: What are you blabbering about? There was nothing wrong with Moose Cholak's age except he lacked the experience necessary for the job. In a few years perhaps he will have matured into the champion that I thought he could be. But until that time, I will be managing another man, a man with the experience and wrestling ability needed to show the people of Texas what the ideal professional wrestler is.

Steve Stack: Well Lord Alfred just who are you talking about?

Lord Alfred: Steven, don't you try and spoil my plans. I will not have anyone trying to scout this man before his arrival, although it would be impossible to find any flaws as he is a perfect wrestler. All I will say is that the man is a 6'4 former World Champion from the great country of Canada and he will be here next week to teach this obstreperous youth Steve Pardee a wrestling lesson that no one will ever forget. Now that is all you need to know and it is all I have to say. Cheers.

Lord Alfred leaves the interview area

Steve Stack: Well fans you just heard it from Lord Alfred Hayes who says he has a former World Champion coming in next week. Now I'd like to talk to Mr. Piledriver Bob Sweetan about what went down last Sunday night at the HemisFair Arena.

Bob Sweetan comes in with his shoulder heavily taped up

Bob Sweetan: Steve Stack all the people can see I'm still wearing the wounds of my war with Tully Blanchard and his Top Gun Fidel Sierra. Unfortunately I'm going to have to wait 90 days to get my revenge on Sierra, if he even has the guts to come back here. But what I'm not going to wait to do is challenge Tully's big Monster from Mongolia, Killer Khan! Tully I heard you gave him the week off, well that's fine. I'll use the week to rehab my shoulder and get it ready for what I know is going to be a war. But I've had all I can take! I've watched you use him to send all of my friends out of the area first Eric Embry, then Rick McGraw and now Scott Casey. Well the buck stops HERE! Nobody is going to run me out of Texas, this is my home and the people here know that! I don't care what kind of match it is, I don't care what the stipulations are, I am going to beat Killer Khan and send him to the hospital just like he did all of my friends! So Tully you think long and hard over that for the next 7 days and next week you can decide in just what way you want me to send your Monster back to Mongolia!

Steve Stack: That's a big challenge from Mr. Piledriver Bob Sweetan to Tully Blanchard and Killer Khan! We'll see what Tully Blanchard has to say about it later in the show! When we come back we'll talk to The Fabulous Ones about their opponents in the first round of the Southwest Tag Team Title tournament, the new AWA World Tag Team Champions, The Wild Bills so don't go away!

-Fourth commercial break-

Steve Stack: I'm standing here now with what some might call the favorites to win the Southwest Tag Team Title Tournament this Sunday night, Stan Lane & Steve Keirn - The Fabulous Ones! Now I know you guys have heard that The Wild Bills just won the AWA World Tag Team Titles which certainly has to add to the importance of your match against them in the first round of the tournament. Their World Titles will not be on the line but if you were to defeat them it would certainly make you guys top contenders for the World Tag Team Titles.

Stan Lane: We were pretty surprised when we heard that The Wild Bills won the AWA World Tag Team Titles, but that's great because when we beat them Sunday night and go on to win the tournament, not only will we be the Southwest Tag Team Champions but we'll be the number one contenders for the World Tag Team Titles after we beat The Wild Bills in a non-title match.

Steve Stack: Right now I'd like to take a look at this video sent in by The Wild Bills with comments about their AWA World Tag Team Title win and their match against you in the tournament Sunday night.

Billy Jack: You see these belts!? These titles right here mean we are the best tag team in the entire world! But we aren't content to just stay in the AWA and let people come to us, we are going to go around the United States and the WORLD and prove it!

Bill Irwin: Fabulous Ones, you two pretty boys learned the last time you stepped into the ring with us that you can't hang with us in a fight. We beat you up, bled you like hogs and then sent you back down to Texas with your tail between your legs! Well since you didn't have the guts to make your way back to our area for a rematch, we'll bring the fight to you there in Texas. And after we beat you and leave you lying in front of all the screaming, crying women of Texas, we're going to beat whoever else is in our way on the route to taking the Southwest Tag Team Titles. And we can promise you one thing, when we win these belts we aren't coming back to Texas to defend them! We're going to consider those Southwest Tag Team Titles retired and merged into the only titles that matter OURS, the AWA World Tag Team Titles!

Steve Keirn: Well those are some tough words from two guys who couldn't beat us the last time we fought them and had to resort to bringing their bullropes into the ring to try and even the odds. And as far as us not having the guts to come to them for a rematch, we're the ones who asked to face them in the first round of the tournament to make sure we DID get that rematch against them. But that's fine if they think they are just going to walk into Texas and run right through us on their way to winning the Southwest Tag Team Titles, they have another thing coming.

Stan Lane: We're not trying to take anything away from the rest of the competition in the tournament, we know there are some great teams coming in from all around North America and from right here in Texas. The Assassins, El Gran Apollo & Jose Lothario, The Fabulous Rougeaus from Montreal, Bret Hart & Davey Boy Smith from Calgary, Brickhouse Brown & Bobo Brazil from Indianapolis, there are a lot of great teams in this tournament. But we didn't come here for any other reason but to be the Southwest Tag Team Champions and after Sunday night that is exactly what we will be!

Steve Stack: Gentleman, thank you for your time and good luck Sunday night!

The Fabulous Ones leave to their left and Mike Masters comes in with Tiny Anderson trailing behind him

Steve Stack: Now, Mike Masters you weren't scheduled for any interview time today but I heard you demanded a quick word about Mil Mascaras before your match here on TV today against Juan Reynosa.

Mike Masters: I heard that old wind bag Jose Lothario out here talking about how Mil Mascaras cost me my hair and how he's going to teach me a lesson Sunday night. Well it's true he did cause me to have my head shaved a few years ago in California. But what Jose Lothario DIDN'T tell you is that the only reason Mil Mascaras beat me that night is because he had a loaded mask and he headbutted me with it which knocked me out! Otherwise there is no way that he could have beat me! The truth is Steve Stack there is not a Mexican wrestler today that can beat me! That's why I've treated Jose Lothario with the disrespect he deserves because I shouldn't even be in the ring with any Mexican wrestlers! None of them are on my level and their bean breath makes me sick! But I am glad I have this rematch against Mil Mascaras because I'm going to get my revenge against him. I'm going to make sure that the referee checks to make sure he doesn't have a loaded mask and after I finish making him pass out in the Full Nelson I am going to take that mask off of him and show his ugly face to the world!

Mike Masters heads down to the ring for his scheduled match against The Masked Wildfire

Steve Stack: Well fans I apologize for those offensive remarks from Mike Masters, I think in the future we may not be giving him any more time here to speak on Southwest Championship Wrestling but right now let's send it down to the ring for our last match of the day!

Mike Masters vs. The Masked Wildfire -

Mike Masters starts the match flexing and taunting the masked man from Hendersonville, TN. They finally lock up and Masters just over powers Wildfire and shoves him down to the mat. Mike Masters starts to pose again while Tiny Anderson applauds outside the ring. Mike Masters sees Tiny Anderson applauding and starts to shout at him that he doesn't need a cheerleader! He tells Tiny Anderson to give him 20 pushups but while he's shouting at Tiny Anderson, The Masked Wildfire comes from behind and rolls him up for a very close nearfall! Mike Masters gets up irate and blasts The Masked Wildfire with a right hand! Wildfire staggers and Mike Masters quickly grabs him and puts him into the Full Nelson! Mike Masters really clamps down on The Full Nelson and The Masked Wildfire quickly submits but Masters takes an extra few seconds after the bell rings before finally releasing the hold. Masters poses in the ring afterwards to the boos of the crowd at The Junction.

Steve Stack: When we come back we will talk to the Southwest Heavyweight Champion Tully Blanchard about the Southwest Tag Team Title tournament, his partner and the challenge from Bob Sweetan to Killer Khan so don't go away!

-Fifth & final commercial break

Steve Stack runs down the big card for Sunday night at The HemisFair Arena, going over the reasons behind the Roy Lee Welch vs. Eddy Mansfield match up and detailing the brackets of the tag team tournament.

Steve Stack: Now I'd like to bring in Tully Blanchard who demanded that he have the final word on today's show. Tully you heard the challenge from Bob Sweetan, he has challenged Killer Khan to any kind of match that you can come up with. What is your response to Bob Sweetan.

Tully Blanchard: I didn't come out here to waste my time talking about Mr. T-Shirt. I'm not going to decide at all, I'm going to let Killer Khan decide how he wants to end the career of Bob Sweetan. Now on to important matters, there's been a lot of things going on in the area, a lot of news but I saved the best for last. That's why I refused to have my interview time be earlier in the show. You've already told everyone how Scott Casey was run out of not just Texas but all of professional wrestling by Killer Khan. We've already heard the announcement of Southwest joining the AWA, which by the way, means GOODBYE to Lou Thesz.

Steve Stack: Now hold on, I want to ask you about that. You said last week that you were going to get rid of Lou Thesz, did you have any part in Southwest joining up with the AWA?

Tully Blanchard: What kind of part could I have played in that Steve Stack? I'm just a wrestler, I don't make those kinds of decisions! Now that's the last time I ever want to hear Lou Thesz' name, he's history, ANCIENT history at that. What I want to talk about is this Sunday night when I will walk out of The HemisFair Arena with not just this pretty Southwest Heavyweight Title around my waist, but also a nice shiny Tag Team Titles belt on my shoulder after my partner and I win the Southwest Tag Team Title tournament.

Steve Stack: Tully you refused to answer who your partner was last week and this week you don't even have Killer Khan with you. Who exactly is your partner on Sunday night?

Tully Blanchard: I told you last week, it's NOT Killer Khan. Killer Khan has this whole week off as I have rewarded him for finally getting Scott Casey out of my life. Do you know how a Monster from Mongolia likes to celebrate? I can't even tell you here on television except to say there are some women here in Texas who will never be the same! Now, Steve Stack if you want to know who my partner is Sunday night you will just have to buy a ticket like everyone else! All I will tell you is that he comes from a great wrestling family in Texas and is the son of a wrestling promoter just like myself.

Steve Stack: Well that really doesn't leave a lot of room for interpretation Tully. There are only 3 people who fit that description. It sounds like you are talking about one of the Von Erich brothers.

Tully Blanchard: Maybe I am Steve Stack. But if you want to know for sure you'll have to come to the HemisFair Arena Sunday night to see it for yourself.

Suddenly The Fabulous Ones come onto the interview set.

Steve Keirn: We heard you out here last week trying to hint that your partner was one of the Von Erichs and now you've done everything but come right out and say it. We don't appreciate you lying to the fans because these people all know that a Von Erich would never team with a snake like you!

Tully Blanchard: Is that right? What makes you so sure of that? Maybe the Von Erichs don't like you two coming in here, hyping yourselves up as the biggest ladies men in the state talking about stealing all the hearts of the women of Texas.

Stan Lane: I think there are enough women in Texas for The Fabulous Ones and The Von Erichs, but maybe not enough left for you. You can try and lie all you want but we know that the Von Erichs are good people and they wouldn't stoop to your level.

Tully Blanchard: So you're calling me a liar? You're saying that I don't have a Von Erich as my partner?

Steve Keirn: That's exactly what we're saying! We're not going to be surprised Sunday when you show up with Killer Khan and-

Suddenly David Von Erich attacks Steve Keirn from behind with a chair as Tully grabs the mic from Steve Stack and smashes it over the head of Stan Lane! Steve Keirn tries to get back up and David smashes the chair down right over his head! David & Tully grab Stan Lane and smash his head into the podium at the interview area and walk off, leaving The Fabulous Ones laid out with Steve Keirn bleeding on the studio floor.

Steve Stack: Oh my god! We need some help out here for The Fabulous Ones! Tully was telling the truth! The Yellow Rose of Texas, David Von Erich is here in San Antonio! What is this going to mean for the future of Southwest Championship Wrestling? Fans we are out of time but make sure to buy your tickets now because you don't want to be left outside when tickets sell out this Sunday night at the HemisFair Arena!

The Assassins defeated The Masked Wildfire & Steve Pardee in 8:32 after Assassin #1 pinned The Masked Wildfire following a big elbow drop across the throat. Steve Pardee started the match and frustrated both The Assassins with his superior wrestling ability but once Pardee tagged out to The Masked Wildfire from Hendersonville, TN the match quickly turned in the favor of The Assassins.

El Gran Apollo defeated Ali Bey the Turk in 5:55 after a Top Rope Crossbody

Roy Lee Welch, Ken Lucas & Charlie Cook defeated Eddy Mansfield, Terry Adonis & T.G. Stone in 12:31 after Charlie Cook pinned T.G. Stone following a flying should block. During the match Eddy Mansfield tried to avoid Roy Lee Welch at all costs.

The Fabulous Ones defeated Mike Masters & Tiny Anderson in 9:12 after Steve Keirn hit a flying forearm on Tiny Anderson.

AWA Southwest Heavyweight Title: Tully Blanchard defeated Bob Sweetan in 14:01 after interference from David Von Erich. Bob Sweetan hit the Piledriver on Tully Blanchard but as Tully was going up he kicked his legs out and knocked referee Jack Howe out of the ring. While the referee was down on the outside, David Von Erich came in with a chair and KO'd Bob Sweetan and put Tully Blanchard on top, then pushed Jack Howe back in the ring to make the count.

After the match David Von Erich & Tully Blanchard attacked the taped up shoulder of Bob Sweetan until The Fabulous Ones ran down to make the save! Tully & David bailed out of the ring before The Fabs could get their hands on them. Stan & Steve challenge Tully & David to get in the ring with them but Tully & David content themselves with talking trash from the safety of the arena floor. Tully & David eventually head back to the locker room as The Fabs help Bob Sweetan back to his feet in the ring.

*Not quite sure when I'll get to the big HemisFair Arena show. I am having trouble really sitting down and typing out any matches right now. Promos & angles come really easy to me but I'm not all that good at writing matches unless I really have a strong idea of what I want from it like the Texas Death Match.

The Fabulous Ones defeated the AWA World Tag Team Champions the Wild Bills by DQ with the match never even starting. The Wild Bills hit the ring with their bullropes and immediately attacked The Fabs with them! They hog tie Stan Lane with the bullrope and then beat the hell out of Steve Keirn, busting him open after hitting him with one of the AWA World Tag Team Title belts. The Wild Bills talk trash during their beatdown about how they are the World Tag Team Champions and don't give a damn about the Southwest Tag Team Titles anymore.

Eddy Mansfield w/Terry Adonis at ringside defeated Roy Lee Welch in 8:44 after Terry Adonis held Roy Lee Welch's legs down during the pin which the ref didn't see as he was looking at Welch's shoulders

Semi-Final match for the vacant AWA Southwest Tag Team Titles: Tully Blanchard & David Von Erich defeated The Fabulous Rougeaus in 16:44 after the referee was knocked down and Killer Khan made a surprise attack and took out Jacques Rougeau with a cast covered thumb to the throat.

Semi-Final match for the vacant AWA Southwest Tag Team Titles: The Fabulous Ones defeated The Assassins in 12:22 when Stan Lane pinned Assassin #1. Assassin #1 was holding Stan Lane for Assassin #2 to kick him with the loaded boot but Stan Lane got out of the way at the last second and Assassin #2's loaded boot connected with the head of Assassin #1 instead. Steve Keirn came out with a huge bandage around his head due to being busted open earlier and Stan Lane was forced to work most of the match by himself.

Mil Mascaras defeated Mike Masters by DQ in 9:22 after Tiny Anderson ran in to break up a pin. After the match Tiny Anderson and Mike Masters tried to beatdown Mascaras but Mascaras fought them both off and smashed their heads together and sent them running for the hills to the delight of the crowd.

Finals of the tournament for the AWA Southwest Tag Team Titles: Tully Blanchard & David Von Erich came to the ring with Killer Khan beside them but once the match started, Bob Sweetan came down to ringside and attacked Killer Khan and they brawled back to the locker room! Stan Lane tried to once again fight the battle on his own due to the injures of Steve Keirn but after taking a lot of damage in the match against The Assassins, he was unable to fight off both Tully & David by himself. Tully & David work over Stan Lane and almost put him away but Stan Lane finally makes a hot tag to Steve Keirn who comes in a house on fire! Steve Keirn kicks some ass and hits the Flying Forearm on Tully but David Von Erich manages to break the pin up before the count of 3 with a big boot to the head of Keirn. Tully makes the tag out to David and David pulls the bandage off of Steve Keirn's head and works the cut on Keirn's forehead causing him to start bleeding again. Tully & David make quick tags and keep Steve Keirn in their corner and viciously attack the cut on Keirn's head. Steve Keirn is bleeding profusely now as the crowd in the HemisFair Arena cheer him on. David Von Erich puts the Iron Claw on Steve Keirn but Stan Lane runs in and attacks him! Tully comes in and tosses Stan Lane outside the ring and goes out of after him. David Von Erich puts the Iron Claw back on Steve Keirn as Lane & Blanchard brawl on the outside. Lane takes Tully down with a punch and tries to get back in the ring but Tully hits a low blow on Stan Lane as he gets up on the apron and pulls Stan back down to the floor.

Steve Keirn looks to be out of it as the referee lifts his hand and it falls twice but on the 3rd try his hand stays up and he tries to use the adrenaline of the crowd to fight out of the Iron Claw. David Von Erich won't be fought off though and finally Keirn collapses due to the pain and the loss of blood and David Von Erich pins shoulders to the mat while Keirn is still in the Iron Claw.

Winners & new AWA Southwest Team Champions in 13:01: Tully Blanchard & David Von Erich!

Tully holds the Southwest Heavyweight Title over his head as he forces referee Juan Reynosa to strap one of the Southwest Tag Team Titles around his waist. Tully & David walk back to the locker room, talking trash to the fans as they go while Stan Lane rolls back in the ring and checks on his partner Steve Keirn who is still passed out in the ring.
