More great Dynasty vs. Fabs build! Seems like we're at the end of the road for these two and I hope Stan & Steve come out on top. It's fairly early in the feud for Ash or Welch to be "done", especially given the intensity of the feud. Duggan bringing in Reed is beyond awesome. At some point Duggan will get his hands on Tully and it seems like now is the time to start that. Mil and Apollo going off on Mexico & Lothario seems like it's close to happening. I'm not sure who wins the Battle Royal but I don't think Duggan gets the shot yet.

Larry Hamilton vs. The Canadian - Larry Hamilton quickly grounded The Canadian and used his amateur wrestling skills to grind The Canadian down on the mat. The Canadian kept trying to find his way out of Hamilton's grasp and turn the match into a brawl but Hamilton was too quick for him and kept grounding The Canadian any time he managed to get back to his feet. The Canadian managed to get himself a bit of breathing room by getting into the ropes and then while referee Jack Howe was getting in between them to break things up, The Canadian used the opportunity to take a cheap shot at Larry Hamilton. The Canadian worked over Hamilton with hard hitting strikes and then tried to set him up for The Running Boot but Hamilton once again ducked under it and caught The Canadian in a roll up just like the previous week. This time however The Canadian was able to kick out and be the first man off the mat which enabled him to catch Hamilton with the 2nd attempt at the Running Boot.

Winner: The Canadian in 8:42 after a Running Boot

El Gran Apollo & Mil Mascaras vs. Jose Lothario & Mr. Mexico - A very fired up Mil Mascaras wanted to start the match but neither Jose or Mr. Mexico would get into the ring with him. Finally El Gran Apollo talked Mascaras into letting him start the match so it could get underway. Apollo and Mr. Mexico started off against each other and Mr. Mexico said something to Apollo that got him very fired up and caused him to chase a backpedaling Mr. Mexico into the corner where he got caught by a big looping punch from Jose Lothario on the apron. Jose and Mr. Mexico worked over Apollo in the corner for a long time, trying to beat him without Mascaras ever getting into the ring but they were unable to keep Apollo down for the count. They took turns tagging in and out and keeping a fresh man in and cutting off Apollo any time he started to make a comeback or get towards his corner. Finally Apollo was able to make it to his corner and tag in Mil Mascaras but the referee Carl Fergie missed the tag due to Mr. Mexico having him distracted and Fergie nearly disqualified Mil Mascaras & El Gran Apollo due to Mascaras not wanting to leave the ring. Jose and Mr. Mexico double teamed Apollo while the referee was busy with Mascaras and tried to set him up for the Spike Piledriver but Apollo backdropped his way out of the piledriver setup from Mr. Mexico which sent Mr. Mexico falling into Jose and allowed El Gran Apollo to make the tag out to Mascaras! Mil Mascaras came in totally fired up and attacked both Jose Lothario and Mr. Mexico! He rammed their heads together and then got Jose in the corner and climbed on top of him and started raining down punches on Jose when suddenly Mr. Mexico came up behind him and flipped him over the top rope, causing an immediate disqualification!

Winners: El Gran Apollo & Mil Mascaras by DQ in 10:57 after Mr. Mexico threw Mil Mascaras over the top rope

El Gran Apollo ran into the ring to attack Mr. Mexico for what he did but eventually he was caught with a rabbit punch from behind by Jose Lothario. Jose and Mr. Mexico tried to set up Apollo again for the Spike Piledriver but Mil Mascaras ran into the ring with a chair which sent Mr. Mexico diving out through the ropes. Jose wasn't able to get away in time though and got clobbered with a huge chair shot from Mil! Jose went down to the mat and Mascaras stretched out Jose's right arm and then drove the chair straight down into Jose's right hand again and again until Mr. Mexico was able to pull him out under the bottom rope! Mr. Mexico helped him quickly get down the aisle as Jose screamed in pain all the way back to the locker room.

Mike Masters vs. Steve Pardee - 'Gentleman' Jim Holliday was at ringside for this match shouting advice to both men. Steve Pardee seemed to mostly ignore him while Mike Masters was hanging on his every word. After a back and forth match, Pardee had gained the advantage and looked to be setting Masters up for the Bulldog when Jim Holliday jumped on the apron and started shouting at him about not following his directions. Pardee started to argue with Holliday and Mike Masters came up behind him and locked him into the Full Nelson! Pardee tried valiantly to fight his way out of the Full Nelson but eventually succumbed to the pain and after Jack Howe raised Steve Pardee's hand and it fell for the 3rd time, Mike Masters was declared the winner!

Winner: Mike Masters in 9:32 with the Full Nelson after Steve Pardee was distracted by 'Gentleman' Jim Holliday

Jim Duggan & Butch Reed vs. The Zambuie Express - Jim Duggan and Butch Reed came to the ring first and The Zambuie Express came out second carrying a briefcase. Kareem Muhammad grabbed the house mic and told Butch Reed that they had a gift for him courtesy of Sheik Adnan. Elijah Akeem opened up the briefcase and showed Butch Reed that it was filled with $100 bills. Kareem Muhammad said all he had to do to walk out of the arena with that briefcase full of money was to leave the ring with it and leave Jim Duggan to them. Butch Reed walked over to the briefcase and examined the money inside with a conflicted look on his face. Butch Reed looked to the crowd for guidance and they all shouted at him not to take the money. Jim Duggan came over and tried to reach out for the briefcase but Kareem Muhammad quickly slammed it shut and pulled it away from him. Duggan started to try and grab the briefcase away from Kareem Muhammad when suddenly Butch Reed hit him from behind! Muhammad slammed the metal briefcase across the head of Jim Duggan which sent the big man to the mat and then Muhammad handed the briefcase over to Butch Reed! Duggan tried to pull himself up on Butch Reed's legs, already busted open from the shot by the metal briefcase and Reed slammed it down over his head again! Butch Reed left the ring and walked back to the locker room to a chorus of boos and trash being thrown at him while The Zambuie Express beat on Jim Duggan in the middle of the ring! Referee Carl Fergie tried to get The Zambuies off of Duggan but they just shoved him down and then Elijah Akeem came off the ropes and hit a big splash on Jim Duggan! Kareem Muhammad then hit a splash of his own!

Moose Morowski came running down to the ring with a chair and ran off The Zambuie Express but the damage had already been done as Jim Duggan was busted open and possibly suffering from injured ribs from the two 350+ pound men splashing down on him.

Result: No contest due to Butch Reed turning on Jim Duggan before the match began

I Quit Match: Roy Lee Welch vs. Bill Ash - This match started as a wild brawl with Roy Lee Welch attacking Bill Ash in the aisle before he could even get into the ring. They fought all in the aisle and slowly started getting closer to the ring where Bill Ash was able to gain control by driving Roy Lee Welch backwards into the wooden ring steps. Ash slammed Welch's head off the steps and Welch fell to the arena floor and then Ash picked up the heavy steps and dropped to drop them on Welch's leg but Welch moved out of the way at the last second. Welch was able to regain control for a bit and rolled Bill Ash into the ring but Ash was able to cut him off with a shoulder into the gut as Welch got up on the apron to follow him in. Bill Ash suplexed Roy Lee Welch into the ring and then tried to go for Welch's own Spinning Toe Hold but Welch was able to kick him backwards into the corner. Welch followed that up with a big monkey flip on Ash out of the corner and then tried his own attempt at the Spinning Toe Hold but Ash was also able to kick him off. Both men charged at each other and ended up slamming their heads together and both falling to the mat. Welch was able to get up first and successfully got the Spinning Toe Hold on Bill Ash but on the 3rd turn, Ash was able to reach up and gouge Welch's eyes to get him off. Ash kicked Welch in the stomach and doubled him over started to hook his leg around Welch's and set him up for the Fuller Leglock but Welch used his free leg to kick backwards and hit Bill Ash in the head. Welch then hooked his leg around the other way and rolled forward, putting the Fuller Leglock on Bill Ash! Roy Lee Welch clamped down hard on the hold and Bill Ash had no choice but to scream I Quit, making Roy Lee Welch the winner!

Winner: Roy Lee Welch in 9:02 after forcing Bill Ash to say 'I Quit' with the Fuller Leglock. Bill Ash seemingly sustained a broken leg as a result of that dangerous hold

*Due to the injuries suffered by Jim Duggan & Jose Lothario neither was able to enter the battle royal and Mike Jackson & Tony Torres took their places

Final Four: Mr. Saito, Mike Masters, El Gran Apollo & Mil Mascaras - Mr. Saito and Mike Masters formed a temporary alliance to work together to try and eliminate El Gran Apollo & Mil Mascaras. Mr. Saito managed to catch Mil Mascaras with a Saito Suplex and then while Mascaras was down he and Masters worked on El Gran Apollo. They had Apollo on the ropes, trying to throw him over with Apollo holding on for dear life when suddenly Masters grabbed Saito from behind and dumped him over! Mr. Saito was enraged at ringside and tried to get back in the ring but referees Jack Howe and Carl Fergie kept him from getting back inside. Masters dumped Apollo over the top rope and then turned back to start celebrating but missed that El Gran Apollo had held on to the ropes and landed on the apron. Apollo came up behind Mike Masters and grabbed him and threw him over the top rope to get down to just El Gran Apollo and Mil Mascaras. Jack Howe then entered the ring to officiate the singles match between El Gran Apollo and Mil Mascaras.

El Gran Apollo vs. Mil Mascaras - Both men were visibly fatigued after having already wrestled a tag match and gone through almost fifteen minutes of fighting inside the battle royal. They started the match by shaking hands and then locked up. Mil Mascaras took Apollo down to the mat and started trying to hold him down for the 3 count in various ways but Apollo kept getting his shoulder up off the mat. They ended up back on their feet and went to lockup again when Mascaras caught Apollo with a quick arm drag. Mascaras caught him with another arm drag and then tried to follow up with a dropkick but Apollo stepped back and Mascaras landed hard on the mat. Apollo saw Mascaras clutching his ribs and quickly climbed to the top rope and set himself to come off with the Top Rope Crossbody. Mascaras got up looking for Apollo and just as he was turning to the corner, Apollo came off and connected with the Top Rope Crossbody but Mascaras somehow managed to roll through it and wind up on top for the pin and got the count of 3 to win!

Winner: Mil Mascaras in 17:09 (including the battle royal)

After the match El Gran Apollo was visibly upset about the way the match ended but Mil Mascaras extended his hand and El Gran Apollo shook it and then raised Mil Mascaras' arm to congratulate him on his victory

'Last Dance' Cage Match for the AWA Southwest Tag Team Titles & the National Tag Team Titles:Texas Dynasty vs. The Fabulous Ones - The Texas Dynasty jumped The Fabs as they made their way through the cage door and knocked them down to the floor. The Texas Dynasty went out after them and beat on The Fabs and slammed their heads off the fence and had Steve Keirn bleeding before he ever made it into the cage itself. Stan Lane was able to break away from Tully for a moment and grab a chair which sent The Texas Dynasty scurrying back into the cage for shelter. They tried to hold the door shut to keep The Fabs from coming in after them but finally The Fabs were able to push it open and get inside although Stan had to drop the chair in the process. The two teams then had a wild brawl inside the cage with all 4 men staying in the ring throughout the match and no tag rules in place. Before long all 4 men were bleeding after being thrown into the cage and having their faces raked against it. After a long back and forth battle, The Fabs gained the upper hand and nailed Tully with the same Double DDT that beat him the previous week but David Von Erich broke up the pin to keep his team alive. The Fabs then started to double team on David with Tully out of it. Tully crawled to the corner where Sunshine was and said something to her which caused her to start climbing the cage and then when she got close to the top she dropped her loaded purse into the ring! Tully grabbed it and went to nail Steve Keirn with it but Stan Lane saw him coming and dove at him which caused Tully to drop the purse and he and Stan Lane rolled around on the mat fighting with each other. Stan Lane blasted Tully with a big punch and then got off of him and grabbed the purse but Tully came up behind him and hit him with a low blow! Tully picked up the purse and went over to the far side of the ring to where Keirn and David were fighting and kicked Keirn between the legs from behind! Tully told David to hold Steve Keirn and Tully climbed to the top rope and started to come off with the loaded purse in hand but Stan Lane dove in and pushed his partner out of the way causing Tully to come down with the brick loaded purse crashing into the head of David Von Erich! The Fabs then grabbed Tully and hit their Double DDT on him, on top of the loaded purse and then pinned him for the 3 count and the victory!

Winners and STILL AWA Southwest and National Tag Team Champions: The Fabulous Ones in 15:17 after a Double DDT on the loaded purse

The Fabulous Ones left the cage and celebrated at ringside with their belts. Sunshine went inside the cage after they left to check on her team and David Von Erich was covered in blood, with another cut seemingly having been opened on his head after being hit with the loaded purse. Tully started to try and get back to his feet while Sunshine screamed for someone to come help David. Tully regained his bearings and started to help Sunshine get David back up on his feet to get him out of the cage. As they got to the door, Tully suddenly shoved Sunshine down off the steps and she fell awkwardly to the floor!

Tully let go of David and David fell with his head inside the doorway. Tully grabbed the cage door and slammed it on David's head! Sunshine started to pound on Tully's back but he just shoved her down and walked back to the locker room with a sadistic smile on his face as the crowd in the HemisFair Arena got quiet as Sunshine cradled the bloody head of David Von Erich and cried for someone to help her. Finally EMTs came out and loaded David Von Erich onto a stretcher and took him back to the locker room as Sunshine followed behind them, hysterically crying at the sight of her man laid helpless on the stretcher.

What a great HemisFair show! Of course Tully is the headline here and with good reason. Great way to end the Dynasty. Ash getting his leg broken with the same hold he came here to break Welch's leg is great poetic justice. Mascaras taking out Lothario's hand and then the respect at the end of the battle royal was good stuff. Butch Reed is going to be the heel king of the South pretty soon. The Canadian gets some heat on Hamilton and maybe that feud will get a bit more time now that a lot of the major feuds have been finished. I mourn for the end of the Ash vs. Welch feud and the Dynasty vs. Fabs feud, but I get the feeling there is more to come.

The Bill Ash feud was pretty hot, especially for something I had not really planned out at all and was mostly just booking week to week. But it had pretty much run it's course despite how much I liked it and I needed Welch to move on to stuff I had planned for him with Robert Fuller coming back into San Antonio, as they are now finally going to receive that Southwest Tag Team Title shot.

I do mourn for Bill Ash's future in this project though as I expect a steep decline for him from being the Southeastern Light Heavyweight/TV Champion to being in a red hot feud in Southwest to most likely jobber duty somewhere else or languishing on the free agent wire.

As for The Texas Dynasty split, that was something I had planned to do from the very beginning and almost called it off due to how popular they seemed to be with the other writers. But at the end of the day, Tully is Tully and he's gonna always be a prick.

What a show, full of twists and turns, upsets, leg breaks and purses, its what Southwest is all about. Butch turning and running off to Memphis in the process, El Gran Apollo coming so close, but just didnt have enough, Adnan causing more issues for Duggan and now Robert Fuller coming in. And then to finish off the show we get that dick Tully causing more issues.

I agree with Bill Ash and hopefully some one picks him up and uses him for what he's worth.

Just week after week great action.

Taped at The Junction in San Antonio, TX on 10/24

Southwest Championship Wrestling airing on Saturday 10/29 in local markets

-Show intro-

steverstack1_zps2225fa25.jpg

Steve Stack: Welcome to the most exciting hour in all of professional wrestling! As usual we've got a lot of news to get to but I think before we get to anything else it would be best to show a video of the closing moments of last Sunday night's action at The HemisFair Arena. The Fabulous Ones successfully retained their titles in the 'Last Dance' Cage match and it would appear that it really was the last time we'll ever see those two teams in action against each other because after the match was over, Tully Blanchard performed one of the most despicable acts I've ever seen. Let's go ahead and show the video now.

The aftermath of the Cage match is shown with Tully & Sunshine trying to help a very bloody David Von Erich out of the Cage and then Tully shoving Sunshine off the apron and dropping David in the doorway so he can slam the Cage door on David's head and then shoving Sunshine down again when she starts screaming at him. Then the tape cuts to David being taken out a stretcher and Sunshine following behind, crying hysterically.

Steve Stack: I've been told that David Von Erich is back in Dallas is back on his family's ranch recuperating from his injuries with Sunshine at his side. We hope to have an update on his condition next week but all I know right know is that he'll be out of action for some time. David Von Erich hasn't exactly made a favorable impression on the fans in the Southwest area since his arrival here from Dallas but no one deserves to be on the receiving end of that kind of attack and I wish him a speedy recovery and hope he'll be back here soon. Fans we'll back with more news from last Sunday night, including the winner of that 20 man Battle Royal who will face Tully Blanchard this week for the Southwest Heavyweight Title in the main event at The HemisFair Arena so don't go away!

-First Commercial Break-

Steve Stack: Welcome back to Southwest Championship Wrestling! Before we get to today's action I wanted to let the fans know that this Sunday night at the HemisFair Arena there will be a huge Southwest Heavyweight Title defense as Tully Blanchard is set to defend the title against the man who won the battle royal last Sunday night, Mil Mascaras! I wanted to -

-Suddenly Jose Lothario & Mr. Mexico come out to the interview area

idI08zd.jpg?2UE92ROF.png?1

Steve Stack: Now wait a minute, this isn't your time this is supposed to be Mil Mascaras' interview time.

Jose Lothario: Nobody wants to hear about Mil Mascaras! They want to know how I am doing after he brutally assaulted me with a chair last Sunday night! I know the people were worried about my condition because I had phone calls all week from concerned fans telling me they hoped I was ok and I would pay back the evil Mil Mascaras for breaking my hand with a steel chair.

Steve Stack: I find it hard to believe you got a lot of sympathy after the way you've been trying to injure people yourself, especially with how you ended the career of Omar Atlas just 2 weeks ago with a Spike Piledriver.

Mr. Mexico: Of course you would stick up for Mascaras you might as well come out here with one of his masks on the way you cheer lead for him! That man is rotten, he's a lousy cheater and I want all the people to know that HOW he won that title shot against Tully Blanchard. We got the tape of how things ended and we want you to play it Steve Stack.

Steve Stack: I am supposed to play that tape but with Mil Mascaras out here not you two, since this is NOT your time.

Mr. Mexico: We don't care about that! Play the tape so we can show all these people what kind of a man Mil Mascaras really is.

-The tape starts playing of the last moments of the battle royal where it came down to just Mil Mascaras and El Gran Apollo and then a few clips of their one on one match against each other

Steve Stack: Just like they said they would last week, Apollo and Mil Mascaras shook hands and wrestled each other cleanly to decide the better man.

Jose Lothario: That's what Mil Mascaras wants you to think! He wants you to think that he wrestled cleanly but the tape doesn't like look at this now! There's El Gran Apollo coming off the top rope and hitting his Flying Crossbody, a move that I taught him while he was with me, and he has Mil Mascaras beaten but look how Mil Mascaras rolls through. Look where his hand is! He's pulling Apollo's trunks!

Steve Stack: His hand is on his trunks to pull Apollo over and roll through to land on top but I don't see him pulling the trunks!

Mr. Mexico: Rewind the tape! Show it again! Look right there Steve Stack! Lie to these people if you want to Steve Stack but Jose and I know what kind of a cheating dog he is and he stole that title match from El Gran Apollo! He pulled his trunks and that's the only way he won that match!

Steve Stack: I still don't see him actually PULLING the trunks I see his hand there but

Mr. Mexico: Then you're blind Steve Stack! They need to get someone out here with some integrity who won't lie to these people like you're doing right now!

Steve Stack: Well what I don't understand is why you two are even out here talking about this when you have your own problems to deal with. This Sunday night, Mr. Mexico, your mask is on the line in a Hair vs. Mask match against El Gran Apollo

Mr. Mexico: I'm not worried about that! Nobody is going to take this mask off of me this is a symbol for my people, the people of Mexico to rally behind and although they have been a little slow to realize they should be cheering me instead of these frauds like Mil Mascaras or a Cuban like El Gran Apollo I know this Sunday night they'll be behind me. El Gran Apollo isn't going to be so handsome when he's bald and I think the girls aren't going to be screaming for him anymore after that.

Steve Stack: Well I think that's about enough time for you two, thank you very much. We have to get down to the ring for

Jose Lothario: Don't cut us off! Mil Mascaras I'm going to make you pay for breaking my hand real soon and El Gran Apollo you better realize that man is nothing but a snake, he cheated you out of your title match!

-Jose Lothario and Mr. Mexico leave the interview area

Steve Stack: I don't know what to make of that, it seems like Jose and Mr. Mexico just want to get inside Apollo's head before the big Hair vs Mask match and maybe try and end the partnership between Apollo and Mil Mascaras since they've been unable to beat them in the ring. But that's enough of that, let's head down to the ring now for our first match of the day between the now healed and returned Eddie Gilbert and his partner Ken Lucas as they're in action against Mike Fever and Jimmy Doo!

Ken Lucas & Eddie Gilbert vs. Mike Fever & Jimmy Doo -

Eddie Gilbert starts the match very fired up and takes it to Mike Fever who ends up begging off into the corner and tagging out to Jimmy Doo. Gilbert dominates Doo as well and tags back out to Mike Fever who comes in wanting Ken Lucas to come in instead of locking up with Gilbert again. Lucas tags in but Fever doesn't fare any better against him, eventually being caught in Ken Lucas' Sleeper! Lucas backs into his corner and lets Gilbert tag in and then lets off the Sleeper just in time for Eddie Gilbert to come off the top rope with a dropkick on Mike Fever that puts Fever down for the 3 count.

Steve Stack: An impressive win for Gilbert and Lucas! It seems like Gilbert is in top form after returning from injury and he'll have to be as this Sunday night he and Lucas take on the formidable team of Mr. Saito and Yoshi Seito! Fans we have to take a time out but don't go away because when we come back we'll talk to winners of the 'Last Dance' Cage match, the AWA Southwest and National Tag Team Champions: The Fabulous Ones!

-Second commercial break-

4oPuTGq.jpg?1

Steve Stack: We're back and with me now are the current AWA Southwest and National Tag Team Champions, Steve Keirn and Stan Lane: The Fabulous Ones! First of all let me congratulate you on your big win this past Sunday night inside the Cage but there's no time to celebrate as you two have a very busy schedule.

Steve Keirn: You're right about that Steve Stack. Pretty much as soon as we get done defending the Southwest Tag Team Titles this Sunday night we'll be hoping on a plane to get to Birmingham, Alabama and defend the National Tag Team Titles there. Then we'll be spending most of the week defending them around the towns in Alabama and Georgia before coming back here again next Sunday night. But that's ok with us, we like to stay busy because it means you're on top, it means you're the best and it means you're making a lot of money.

Steve Stack: Well I know there is no shortage of teams looking to get a shot at those belts, you've got a National Tag Team Title defense that you mentioned coming up against Bobby Eaton and Tom Pritchard in Alabama and this Sunday night you're facing Roy Lee Welch and Robert Fuller for the Southwest Tag Team Titles. You guys spent a lot of time chasing The Texas Dynasty for those belts, what does it feel like now to be on the other end having everyone coming at you?

Stan Lane: We're not strangers to being on top and having everyone looking up at you and that's just how we like it. There are a lot of great teams who want a shot at us but we're not done looking for gold ourselves. We still want the AWA World Tag Team Titles and we heard there is an even bigger tougher team holding them now than The Wild Bills, two guys who walk around in face paint and spikes and call themselves The Road Warriors. Well that might intimidate some people but it doesn't intimidate us and we're looking to get a match with them real soon.

Steve Stack: Well I've seen some footage of The Road Warriors in action and they are certainly big and tough, that would be one heck of match and a main event in any arena in the world. I hope to see that match right here in San Antonio in The HemisFair Arena. Gentlemen I wish you luck on your travels around the country defending those National Tag Team Titles and right here at home defending those Southwest Tag Team Titles.

Steve Keirn: Thank you Steve we're looking forward to holding on to these belts for a real long time.

-The Fabulous Ones leave the interview area and Mil Mascaras comes in

RTByloo.jpg?1

Steve Stack: Now let me bring in the number one contender to the Southwest Heavyweight Title, Mil Mascaras! Mil congratulations on winning that battle royal and I think it's safe to say you'll be the heavy crowd favorite in your match with Tully Blanchard especially with what we saw from Tully last week.

Mil Mascaras: I thought there was nothing left that Tully Blanchard could do to surprise me but he's found a way to sink to a new low even for him with what the way he shoved Sunshine around and the way he attacked his own tag team partner. But I wanted to talk about the things that were said about me out here earlier.

Steve Stack: I don't think you really even need to address that, I'm sure all the people here know those were just lies from Jose Lothario and Mr. Mexico trying to stir up trouble.

Mil Mascaras: Well apparently not everyone Steve because El Gran Apollo and I almost got into a shoving match just before I came out here. Apparently he believes that I really did pull his tights to win the match. I can only say the people know I don't need to cheat to win matches, that's now how I wrestle. I beat El Gran Apollo right in the middle of the ring. That Top Rope Crossbody is a move that I've mastered, I know how to use the momentum of that move to wind up on top if someone else uses at against me. That's all that happened, I didn't pull his trunks. I'm sure maybe after he has some time to think about it he'll realize that Jose and Mr. Mexico just want to get in his head before his match Sunday. But they aren't going to get in mine. I'm ready for my match this Sunday and I'm ready to beat Tully Blanchard and take the Southwest Heavyweight Title. My people have been through a lot over the past few months with everything that Jose and his impostor have said about them and I am going to give them something to celebrate when I beat Tully Blanchard and hold that Southwest Heavyweight Title above my head.

-Mil Mascaras leaves the interview area

Steve Stack: That's a very confident Mil Mascaras and I have no doubt he'll be ready this Sunday night. We've got to take another commercial break but when come back I hope to get a word from El Gran Apollo and we'll also hear from Jim Duggan about the "blood money" that caused Butch Reed to turn on him last Sunday night,

-Third commercial break-

Steve Stack: Well fans we're back and during the break I tried to get someone to find El Gran Apollo and have him come out here and give his thoughts on what was said earlier by Jose Lothario and Mr. Mexico but apparently El Gran Apollo left the building after his argument with Mil Mascaras! I'm not sure what's going through the mind of that young man right now but he'd better stay focused on his match against Mr. Mexico or else he'll find himself having his head shaved Sunday night. Now I'd like to bring out a man who has had quite a few problems recently with Sheik Adnan al-Kaissie and his hired mercenaries, the 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan!

JjawfbU.jpg?1

Steve Stack: Jim we saw you bring in wrestling's other 'Hacksaw', Butch Reed, to be your partner last Sunday night against The Zambuie Express but things didn't quite work out as you planned it.

Duggan: That's one way to put it Steve Stack. I'd put it like that rotten Butch Reed sold me out to run off with a briefcase full of dirty money while I took a beating from The Zambuie Express. He busted me open with that metal briefcase so you can certainly call it blood money if you want to. Having those two big fat Zambuies jumping on me didn't do my ribs any good but luckily I had someone looking out for me and this week I'm gonna do what I should have done last week and make him my partner. Go ahead and come on out here now so I can shake your hand and thank you in front of all these people.

-Moose Morowski comes out to the interview area

qL9k2zh.jpg?1

Duggan: Two weeks ago you helped me out when The Zambuie Express appeared and attacked me and I told you I was going to find another partner. And then after Butch Reed left me high and dry you still came out and saved me from having my ribs broken. So brother this week it's going to be you and me and we're going bust some heads and send The Zambuie Express back to wherever they came from.

Morowski: I should be thanking you Hacksaw. With your endorsement I know these people will warm up to me and this will give me the one last hurrah I've been looking for. I know The Zambuie Express are one of the toughest teams in all of wrestling, they're certainly the biggest, but I think I have enough left in the tank to stand with you and take care of them. I'm going to make you and these people proud of me so when I hang up my tights for good the people will know Moose Morowski was one of the toughest men to ever step foot in the ring.

Duggan: Well I'm counting on you because I need a partner I can trust after what happened last week. I hope you're ready to bust some heads because I know I sure am!

-Duggan shakes Morowski's hand and leaves the interview area

Steve Stack: Moose from the reaction I'm hearing now it sounds like these people here in The Junction have forgiven you for your time with Lord Alfred Hayes.

Morowski: Well I just hope I don't let them down this Sunday, I don't want to disappoint them or Jim Duggan so I need to be ready for this big match. That's why I asked for a match on TV here today and I'm ready to head down to the ring for it now.

-Morowski leaves the interview area

Steve Stack: There you have it, this Sunday night it's going to be Jim Duggan teaming with Moose Morowski to take on the biggest team in wrestling, Sheik Adnan's mercenaries: The Zambuie Express! And now let's head to the ring to see Moose Morowski in action against Terry Adonis.

Moose Morowski vs. Terry Adonis -

Moose Morowski shoves Terry Adonis down off of a lockup and then just starts mauling him as he tries to get back up. Morowski pounds on Adonis and then slams him down to the mat and drops a big knee down on his chest and pins him for a very quick victory.

Steve Stack: The big Moose certainly looks ready for his match this Sunday night! Ladies and gentlemen don't go away because when we come back we're going to hear from the most controversial man in wrestling, the Southwest Heavyweight Champion, Tully Blanchard, and try and get his explanation for why he turned on David Von Erich and slammed his head in the door of the steel cage last Sunday night.

-Fourth commercial break-

HjRidln.jpg?1

Steve Stack: We're back on Southwest Championship Wrestling and with me now is -

Tully Blanchard: I don't need any introduction Steve Stack, these people all know who I am. I am the greatest wrestler to ever come out of the state of Texas, their Southwest Heavyweight Champion and they all know my name.

Steve Stack: Well then skipping introductions let's get right to the point, WHY did you do what you did last Sunday night? Why did you attack your partner in the Texas Dynasty and shove his girlfriend Sunshine down to the arena floor?

Tully Blanchard: Why do you even need to ask why? It should be obvious. David Von Erich didn't have what it takes to be my partner, he couldn't hold on to the Southwest Television Title, he couldn't hold on to our tag team titles. I've held this Southwest Heavyweight Title for almost 6 months now, that's the true mark of a champion not winning a belt and losing it in a few weeks. I realized that I made a mistake in ever proclaiming him to be part of a Texas Dynasty. Because the truth is, the Von Erichs have always been the second class family to the Blanchards and you're all looking at the only Texas Dynasty there is: me!

Steve Stack: So you're blaming David Von Erich for your losses to The Fabulous Ones?

Tully Blanchard: He is the one whose girlfriend's purse caused us to lose the match isn't it? He's the one who got carried out on a stretcher and is back at home in Dallas nursing his wounds isn't he? While I'm still here getting ready to defend this Southwest Heavyweight Title Sunday night, because I am the most fighting champion in all of wrestling.

Steve Stack: Tully the tape would clearly show YOU are the one who asked Sunshine to put her loaded purse into the ring last Sunday night.

Tully Blanchard: You're wrong, as usual, Steve Stack. I did say something to Sunshine right before that happened but I told her to stop her hysterics, to calm down because I was in control of the situation and I would save her boyfriend from having his brains beat in by The Fabulous Ones. But she didn't listen, she climbed the cage anyway and dropped her purse into the ring and I had to have that brick smashed upside my head and dropped on top of it to knock me out.

Steve Stack: I find that a little hard to believe Tully and I think Sunshine would tell a different story.

Tully Blanchard: Well she's not here to tell any stories is she? And besides why would you believe a woman like that anyway? I told David Von Erich that he should get rid of her after she caused him to lose the TV Title to that runt Roy Lee Welch but he didn't listen to me. The Texas Dynasty should have been associated with a woman of class, a real woman of Texas not some Florida floozy. But he was "in love" and he told me he could talk to her and take care of things and well you see how that worked out for him. Now he's in Dallas on his daddy's ranch having to try and relearn how to eat solid foods while I'm here on TV, still a champion, still the best in this sport.

Steve Stack: I think we've heard about enough from you about Sunshine and David Von Erich. Now let me ask you about your opponent this Sunday night, you have to defend your Southwest Heavyweight Title against one of the best wrestlers in all of the world, the man of a thousand masks, Mil Mascaras.

Tully Blanchard: Am I supposed to impressed? Or intimidated? I've been in the ring before with Mil Mascaras with my Southwest Title on the line and he's never taken it from me so why am I supposed to be scared now? I will still be out here next week with this belt while Mil Mascaras will be off somewhere else around the country or in Japan or Mexico because that's what he does when he fails to get the job done he packs up and takes off somewhere else while I stay right here and prove I'm the best. And that's about all the time I have to bring myself down to your level of intelligence Steve Stack, it's time for me to go shine this belt up and get it looking nice for my main event at the HemisFair Arena.

-Tully Blanchard leaves the interview area and Jim Holliday comes in with Mike Masters

BaDztba.jpg?1USc9Jzd.jpg?1

Steve Stack: Now let me welcome in the man whose services were "won" by Mike Masters last Sunday night, Jim Holliday and his newest charge. Jim last week you said you wanted to see who was more worthy of your services between Steve Pardee and Mike Masters but with the way that match played out it seemed like your mind was already made up.

Holliday: You couldn't be more wrong Steve Stack, I came out to the ring with a clear mind looking to see who would impress me the most, who was the most worthy of having the best manager and the greatest negotiator in wrestling in their corner. And while Steve Pardee was busy ignoring my advice and trying to do things his own way, Mike Masters was following my instructions and that's why he won the match and that's why I'm out here with him today.

Steve Stack: I may have my doubts about that statement but there is no doubting your ability as a negotiator. You've already gotten this man a Southwest Television Title match with Roy Lee Welch right here on TV today which we'll be seeing in just a few minutes now.

Holliday: Of course I got him a title shot, that's what I do. I'm a manager of champions and after today this man will finally have the gold around his waist that he deserves.

Steve Stack: Today he'll be wrestling Roy Lee Welch for the Southwest Television Title but on Sunday night he'll be facing a different opponent, a man I really don't know anything about except that his last name is Anderson. The big brother of Tiny Anderson has apparently arrived her in San Antonio and he'll be wrestling Mike Masters this Sunday night in his first appearance in the area.

Holliday: That's right, when I heard he was coming in I told the promoters of Southwest that I wanted that match immediately. I don't want my man Mike Masters to have to spend any more time than is necessary facing sub-par competition like Tiny Anderson and whoever his loser brother turns out to be. He will be the TV champ after today and he needs to be wrestling better men than that slob Tiny and I'm sure his brother will be even more disgusting and inept.

Steve Stack: I'm not quite sure what to expect from Tiny Anderson's brother but I do know that it seems you're taking Roy Lee Welch far too lightly he has surprised a lot of people with his ability since coming to the Southwest area and he's not the Television champion for nothing.

Holliday: Who cares about that shrimp? Mike Masters is going to toss him around like the runt that he is and that make him squeal for mercy when he locks him into the Full Nelson. I'm not going to stand out here and listen to you act like there is even the remotest possibility of Roy Lee Welch defeating Mike Masters so I think this interview is over now, let's go Mike.

-Mike Masters and Jim Holliday leave the interview area

Steve Stack: Well fans we've got to take a break now anyway and when we come back we'll have that main event of Roy Lee Welch defending the Southwest Television title against Mike Masters so don't go away!

-Fifth and final commercial break-

Steve Stack: We're back on Southwest Championship Wrestling and before we get to our big main event TV Title match I wanted to get a quick word from the champion Roy Lee Welch. Roy you've got a lot on your plate again as you face a very tough competitor here on TV today and team up with your cousin Robert Fuller this Sunday night against The Fabulous Ones for the Southwest Tag Team Titles.

hc5IzrH.jpg?1

Roy Lee Welch: You're right Steve,it's been an incredible few weeks for me winning the Southwest TV Title, battling with Bill Ash and having to break his leg before he broke mine and now reuniting with my cousin Robert to finally get that Southwest Tag Team Title match we've been after. But I can handle it all, I'm not overwhelmed because this is what I've wanted to do my whole life. My entire family is involved in the wrestling business and it's what I wanted to do for as long as I can remember and now I've got this title to prove to my family and the whole world that I do belong in this sport and that I have what it takes to compete at the highest level. And next week I hope to come out here with another title, one half of the Southwest Tag Team Titles with my cousin Robert because I know if he and I win those belts it will be the key to finally reuniting with my whole family, even Jimmy Golden.

Steve Stack: Well Roy I wish you luck in that and now it's time to head down to the ring for your title match today against Mike Masters.

Mike Masters vs. Roy Lee Welch - Southwest Television Title Match

Mike Masters starts the match with his usual strutting and posing routing and delaying the lockup with Roy Lee Welch. Welch gets tired of waiting on Masters to engage and charges at him but Masters ducks out through the ropes which causes the referee to step in between them. Masters takes advantage of that by blasting Welch with a big clothesline and then grabbing him into a headlock when he gets back up. Welch tries various ways to get out of the headlock but Masters is just too strong and instead Welch finds himself getting choked as Masters positions himself where the referee can't see it and lets go of the choke just as the referee gets back around in front of him. Finally Masters gets caught during a choke and is forced to let go of the headlock but not before putting Welch down with a punch from the headlock position beforehand. Referee Carl Fergie gives Masters an earful about the use of a closed fist and the choking but Masters goes right back to work on Welch with an armbar. Welch manages to get into the ropes however and cause a break. Masters tries another cheapshot with the referee between them but this time Welch ducks out of the way and Masters' momentum sends him flying over the top rope. Masters complains about being "thrown" over the top rope and wants a DQ win but Carl Fergie is having none of it and starts counting him out of the ring. Masters gets back up on the apron only to eat a big dropkick from Welch that sends him back down to the floor. Masters gets angry and comes shooting in under the bottom rope only to get caught with a big elbow drop to the back of his head and put into headlock down on the mat. Masters works his way back up to his feet and shoves Welch off into the corner but Welch bounces off the second turnbuckle and comes back around in a crossbody that catches Masters by surprise and gets a 2 count that was very close to a 3. Masters rolls out of the ring and complains about a fast count but Carl Fergie's only response is to start counting him out of the ring again. Masters demands the referee get Welch back from the ropes so he can get back in the ring and this time he's able to come in unmolested. Masters wants a test of strength but Welch won't go for it and Masters tries to cheapshot him but Welch sees it coming and dodges Masters' punch and comes back with one of his own and puts Masters into another headlock. Masters is able to shove Welch off into the corner again and this time when Welch tries to bounce out of the corner with a crossbody, Masters is ready for it and dodges out of the way. Welch crashes hard on the mat and as he's getting back up he gets caught in the Full Nelson! Welch fights hard to get out of it but Masters has it locked in and suddenly the bell rings!

Masters starts celebrating like he's won but Carl Fergie pulls his hand down and it's announced that the match reached it's 10 minute time limit and has been declared a draw! Mike Masters is furious as Roy Lee Welch is handed the Southwest TV Title!

Steve Stack: I hate to draw conclusions but it seems like Roy Lee Welch may have been saved by the bell there as he was locked in tight in that Full Nelson! I have a feeling we'll be seeing a title rematch between those two real soon but for today we're all out of time! Make sure to get your tickets for this Sunday night at the HemisFair Arena it's going to be another huge night of action with Tully Blanchard defending the Southwest Heavyweight Title against Mil Mascaras, the Fabulous Ones defending the Southwest Tag Team Titles against Robert Fuller and Roy Lee Welch, Jim Duggan teams with Moose Morowski to face off against The Zambuie Express, El Gran Apollo puts his hair on the line against the mask of Mr. Mexico and much more! Really enjoyed the two main events. Killer Khan is awesome and any card with The Texas Dynasty vs The Fabulous Ones is a must see. I never saw David in live action but the VonErichs are such classics that they make any match better. I think some of the videos of Heel David are the best I have ever seen and you do a great job with this role.

Killer Khan getting up from a piledriver on the concrete would be a site to see. Not sure if even Khan could get up from that. All I can think about is JYD getting the Terry Gordy piledriver on the concrete and being out of action for a month or two. Will Khan have some lingering injuries? We will have to wait and see.

I love the Sweetan blood part. I miss the color factor in today's PG wrestling. Sweetan is so underrated in 1980's wrestling and you really use him so well.

Southwest Championship Wrestling @ San Antonio, TX - The HemisFair Arena 10/30/83

Yin & Yang vs. Art Crews & Timothy Flowers - Yin & Yang won the match in 8:01 after Yin pinned Art Crews following a Flying Headbutt off the top rope

Larry Hamilton vs. The Canadian - The match went to a draw when both men were counted out fighting outside of the ring after around 9 minutes of action

Eddie Gilbert & Ken Lucas vs. Yoshi Seito & Mr. Saito - Eddie Gilbert & Ken Lucas won the match in 12:42 after Eddie Gilbert connected with his Top Rope Dropkick on Yoshi Seito. After the match Mr. Saito attacked Gilbert from behind and hit him with the Saito Suplex and then brawled with Ken Lucas until Yoshi Seito recovered and helped him and then the two of them beat on Ken Lucas until Eddie Gilbert recovered and chased them off with a chair

Tiny Anderson's brother vs. Mike Masters w/Jim Holliday - Mike Masters came out first and Jim Holliday got on the mic and declared Mike Masters the uncrowned Southwest Television champion. Then this man came out to the ring:

DMCx4zE.png?1

Announced as "Man Mountain" Link Anderson, the big brother of Tiny Anderson. Mike Masters looked rather intimidated by the size of his opponent as he walked down to the aisle and jumped him as soon as he started to come through the ropes. Masters pounded on him as the bell rang but Man Mountain Link withstood the pounding and then shoved Mike Masters who went flying backwards. Link challenged Masters to come at him again but instead Masters bailed out of the ring and went back to the locker room with Jim Holliday following behind him trying to talk him into going back.

Man Mountain Link was declared the winner via countout in less than a minute of action.

Jim Duggan & Moose Morowski vs. The Zambuie Express - The Zambuie Express try to offer a briefcase of money to Moose Morowski before the match but Moose turns it down! Kareem Muhammad and Duggan start the match against each other and Duggan just eats him up, hammering him with punches until Kareem bails out by tagging in Elijah Akeem. Akeem doesn't fare any better against Duggan until Kareem Muhammad runs in and attacks Duggan from behind and the two of them double team on Duggan, gaining more time to do so as Moose Morowski tries to run into the ring to help. The Zambuie Express get Duggan into their corner and really work him over. A few times Duggan looks to be about to escape from their corner and make a tag but gets cut off. Moose cheers him on but gets more and more frustrated as Duggan is unable to make it to the corner to tag him in. The Zambuie Express eventually get Duggan busted open and they hold up the bleeding Duggan and taunt Moose Morowski about not taking the money. Moose rushes into the ring to attack Kareem Muhammad but then levels Duggan with a clothesline! He asks Muhammad if he can still take the money and Elijah Akeem hands him the briefcase! Moose Morowski heads back to the locker room with the briefcase full of money in hand as the crowd boos the hell out of him. Kareem Muhammad goes for a big splash on Duggan but Duggan rolls out of the way! Duggan gets up and nails Muhammad with a big Spear and starts crawling towards his corner! He gets there and realizes his partner is gone just as Muhammad also makes it to the corner and tags in Elijah Akeem. Elijah Akeem rushes into Duggan's corner and nails him with a big Avalanche splash and then covers him for the win.

Winners: The Zambuie Express in 10:22 after Moose Morowski abandoned his partner

Hair vs Mask: El Gran Apollo vs. Mr. Mexico w/Jose Lothario - El Gran Apollo seemed distracted at the onset of this match and Mr. Mexico took full advantage. Mr. Mexico grounded Apollo in the opening parts of the match and worked him over with various holds until Apollo managed to break out of a chin lock and started a fiery comeback. As he went to the top rope for his Flying Crossbody, Jose Lothario jumped up on the apron and the momentary distraction allowed Mr. Mexico to recover and grab Apollo and slam him off the top rope. Mr. Mexico tried to pin Apollo after slamming him off the top rope but Apollo managed to kick out. Mr. Mexico started working a headlock on Apollo for a few minutes until Apollo started to rally again and shoved Mr. Mexico off who collided with referee Carl Fergie, sending the referee flying out through the ropes. Jose Lothario quickly entered the ring and attacked Apollo from behind. He got Mr. Mexico to hold Apollo from behind and wound up for a big punch with his cast covered hand but Apollo ducked at the last second and Jose connected with Mr. Mexico instead! Apollo then grabbed Jose and threw him over the top rope and covered Mr. Mexico just as referee Carl Fergie rolled back into the ring and counted the 3 count!

Winner: El Gran Apollo in 11:33 after Jose Lothario's interference backfired

After the match Jose argued with the referee about what happened, telling him that he punched Mr. Mexico with his cast and that Apollo should be disqualified. Mr. Mexico and Jose tried to leave the ring without Mr. Mexico unmasking but Apollo grabbed them and slammed their heads together and then yanked the mask off of Mr. Mexico revealing him to be Fidel Sierra! Jose tried to cover up Sierra's face as they ran back to the locker room together with Apollo holding the mask up in the center of the ring to the cheers of the crowd.

Southwest Tag Team Titles: Robert Fuller & Roy Lee Welch vs. The Fabulous Ones - Robert Fuller came to the ring himself and announced that Roy Lee Welch had come down with a terrible case of the flu and was unable to wrestle tonight. He said he made an emergency phone call to another one of his family members to come to San Antonio and be his partner and if The Fabulous Ones will accept their challenge then he'll still wrestle them with Jimmy Golden taking Roy Lee Welch's place.

The Fabs come out a little leery of the situation but they accept the match and the match becomes:

Southwest Tag Team Titles: Robert Fuller and Jimmy Golden vs. The Fabulous Ones - Robert Fuller starts the match for his team and wants a handshake. Steve Keirn isn't too keen on the idea but Robert Fuller does the "cross my heart" gesture and swears he's not going to do anything so finally Steve Keirn shakes his hand and they start the match cleanly. After some clean wrestling between the two they reach a bit of a stalemate and both tag out. Jimmy Golden comes in and wants to shake hands with Stan Lane who is also not very interested in that idea. Golden finally convinces him to do so and once again it's just a clean handshake and Jimmy Golden and Stan Lane wrestle each other cleanly with Stan Lane eventually getting the better of it. While Stan Lane has Golden in an arm bar, Robert Fuller hands Jimmy Golden something in his free hand and then Golden nails Lane with a punch that seemingly knocks Stan Lane out! Steve Keirn saw the exchange between Fuller and Golden and tries to rush into the ring to attack them but referee Jack Howe pushes him back and Keirn argues with him about the foreign object with gives Golden time to hand it back to Robert Fuller who hides it under the turnbuckle pad. The referee checks Jimmy Golden and then Robert Fuller and doesn't find the object and then Golden covers Lane who kicks out at the count of 2. Golden gets Stan Lane into the corner with Robert Fuller and the two of them really turn up the aggressiveness now, just beating and stomping on Lane as Keirn continues to try and get involved but his interference only causes the referee to be distracted as Fuller and Golden start to cheat more and more behind the referee's back. Keirn finally gets around the referee and attacks Fuller and Golden in their corner and starts beating the hell out of both of them only to get caught with a punch with the foreign object as Golden retrieves it from the turnbuckle pad and lays Keirn out with it. Jimmy Golden drops down to the floor and pulls Keirn out with him and starts working him over with punches as Robert Fuller sets up Stan Lane for the Fuller Leglock in the ring when suddenly Roy Lee Welch runs out with a big bandage wrapped around his head and attacks Robert Fuller! He starts beating the hell out of Robert Fuller and referee Jack Howe throws the match out!

Winners: Jimmy Golden and Robert Fuller by DQ in 14:49 after Roy Lee Welch attacked his cousin Robert

Jimmy Golden rushes into the ring and tries to punch Roy Lee Welch with the foreign object but Welch ducks it and comes back with a big right hand of his own that puts Golden on the mat and causes him to drop the object. Roy Lee Welch sees the chain on the mat and grabs it and starts to wrap it around his fist but Golden and Fuller clear out of the ring! They shout at Roy Lee Welch for ruining their match as Roy tries to get them to come into the ring with him but Fuller and Golden see The Fabulous Ones starting to get back to their feet and head back to the locker room instead. The Fabs get up confused at seeing Roy Lee Welch in the ring and he tries to offer them a handshake but they don't really know what happened and decide to leave him in the ring alone by himself instead.

Southwest Heavyweight Title: Mil Mascaras vs. Tully Blanchard - Tully tried to stall in the early going but Mascaras was able to grab hold of him and smother him on the mat. Mascaras really dominated Tully with wrestling until Tully was able to get in a cheap low blow with the referee out of position to see it. Tully took over and worked over Mascaras for a bit before hitting the Slingshot Suplex and went for the cover but Mascaras kicked out just before the count of 3! Tully complained to referee Carl Fergie about a slow count and tried for another Slingshot Suplex but Mascaras blocked it and hit a suplex of his own! Tully got up and charged at Mascaras who dodged him and Tully went crashing into the corner and then down to the mat. Mascaras quickly climbed up to the top rope and readied himself to come off with the Flying Bodypress but suddenly Jose Lothario and Fidel Sierra came running out and shoved him off the top rope! Carl Fergie called for the bell and disqualified Tully Blanchard while Jose and Fidel Sierra quickly went to work stomping and kicking at Mascaras down on the mat.

Winner: Mil Mascaras by DQ in 13:09 after interference from Jose Lothario and Fidel Sierra

Tully just shrugged his shoulders and grabbed the Southwest Title and headed for the locker room when he realized he'd been disqualified. Jose and Sierra started to try to take the mask off of Mil Mascaras when suddenly El Gran Apollo ran in and tried to help him! He attacked Fidel Sierra but got nailed in the back of the head by Jose's cast and then the two of them started to work over Apollo. They started to set him up for the Spike Piledriver but while they were beating on Apollo, Mil Mascaras recovered and went outside to grab a chair. As they set Apollo up for the Spike Piledriver, Mascaras came back into the ring wildly swinging the chair and he caught Fidel Sierra with it but then missed Jose Lothario and hit referee Carl Fergie instead! Jose bailed out of the ring and ran back to the locker room as Mascaras quickly stopped his attack to check on the injured referee. He tried to help Carl Fergie back up but Fergie was busted open from the chair and collapsed back down to the mat. Sierra managed to get out of the ring during the confusion and run back to the locker room as El Gran Apollo and Mil Mascaras both checked on the condition of Carl Fergie. Jack Howe came out and he helped Carl Fergie back to the locker room as Mil Mascaras and El Gran Apollo were left in the ring together. El Gran Apollo extended his hand to Mil Mascaras and Mascaras shook it, signaling an end to the animosity between them that was caused by the lies of Jose Lothario and the now unmasked "Mr. Mexico" Fidel Sierra.

Taped at The Junction in San Antonio, TX on 10/31

Southwest Championship Wrestling airing on Saturday 11/5 in local markets

-Show intro-

steverstack1_zps2225fa25.jpg

Steve Stack:Welcome to the most exciting hour in all of professional wrestling! We've got quite an hour of action in store for you today but first I'd like to apologize to the fans who came down to the HemisFair Arena last Sunday night expecting to see The Fabulous Ones defend the Southwest Tag Team Titles against Roy Lee Welch and Robert Fuller. That match turned out to actually be Jimmy Golden and Robert Fuller against The Fabulous Ones and I'll have Roy Lee Welch on right after the commercial break to talk about how exactly that came about. In other action from last Sunday, we saw Mil Mascaras defeat Tully Blanchard but Tully retained the Southwest Heavyweight Title because the match ended in a disqualification after interference from Jose Lothario and the man who was unmasked as "Mr. Mexico" the CUBAN, Fidel Sierra! We saw Jose try to extract revenge for his broken hand by attempting to injure Mil Mascaras but El Gran Apollo came down to help his friend, despite the problems they had here on TV last week and chaos ensued that ended with referee Carl Fergie being hit with a chair by Mil Mascaras and having his head busted open. Stanley Blackburn is here in The Junction today to talk about that incident and more later on in the hour but right now we've got to go to a commercial break but don't go away because as soon as we come back we're going to talk to the Southwest Television Champion Roy Lee Welch about why he was not able to compete in his scheduled Southwest Tag Team Title match last Sunday night.

-First Commercial Break-

hc5IzrH.jpg?1

Steve Stack: We're back on Southwest Championship Wrestling and with me now is the Southwest Television Champion, Roy Lee Welch. Roy you spent months trying to get a Southwest Tag Team Title match scheduled for yourself and your cousin Robert Fuller and last Sunday you finally had your chance but instead of you and Robert teaming up, it ended up being Robert & Jimmy Golden facing The Fabulous Ones instead. How exactly did that situation come about?

Roy Lee Welch: Steve I've had a giant headache all week. And it's not just from the 10 stitches I still have on the back of my head, it's from wondering how I could be so stupid as to fall into Robert and Jimmy's trap. I knew that Robert was still teaming with Jimmy in Alabama, I should have never trusted him when he told me he wanted to win team with me and win the Southwest Tag Team Titles with me so he heal the rift in our family. But I wanted to believe it, I wanted to finally gain the acceptance of him and Jimmy so I went along with it. And I paid the price but damn near having them kill me!

Steve Stack: Roy I've seen the big gash on the back of your head what the heck happened?

Roy Lee Welch: Sunday morning I went to pick Robert up from the airport, everything seemed fine. I met him at the terminal and I was helping him put his bags into my trunk when suddenly someone came up from behind me and knocked me out, I think with a tire iron. And the next thing I knew, I woke up locked inside the trunk of my own car, covered in blood!

Steve Stack: Wait a minute...you're saying that you were jumped from behind and thrown into the trunk of your car and that's why you couldn't be found Sunday?

Roy Lee Welch: That's exactly what happened Steve and since Jimmy Golden was "conveniently" able to show up and take my place in the match I can only assume he was the one who hit me from behind and threw me into the trunk.

Steve Stack: That's...I can't even believe someone would do that at all much less to a member of their own family. We saw you run out to the ring at the end of the match between Robert Fuller & Jimmy Golden vs The Fabs, how did you get out of the trunk?

Roy Lee Welch: For that I have to thank my friend Tony Torres. Tony had been trying to find me all day and I had talked to him on the phone before I went to pick Robert up from the airport. When he heard Robert announce that I was too sick to wrestle, he knew something was up and he went and found my car in the parking lot and heard me trying to kick my way out of the trunk. So he busted open my window and popped the trunk and got me out and helped bandage up my head and when I found out that Robert was in the ring wrestling with Jimmy Golden I realized what had happened to me and I rushed out to the ring to try and get my revenge. I wanted to fight both of them right here on TV today but the doctors wouldn't allow me to wrestle with stitches still in my head so I'm being kept out of the ring this week. But make no mistake about it, I'm not going to make any excuses for my cousins this time, this means war! You two set me up so you could try and steal the Southwest Tag Team Titles but it didn't work out that way and now I'm going to make both of you pay no matter what I have to do!

Steve Stack: This is almost beyond comprehension to me Roy. I can only imagine how long Robert Fuller and Jimmy Golden plotted and schemed to come up with this plan.

Roy Lee Welch: Who knows Steve, this might have been the plan all the way back from August when he came in to help me fight Eddy Mansfield and Buddy Roberts and we were trying to get a title match with The Texas Dynasty. All I know is, whether the match takes place here in Texas or I have to go back to Alabama, I'm going to get my revenge and I'm going to bust open THEIR skulls and make THEM get some stitches in their head for what they did to me.

Steve Stack: Roy...I don't know if you're aware of this but due to the match ending in a DQ win for Robert Fuller and Jimmy Golden they've been given a rematch this Sunday night at The HemisFair Arena and will be wrestling The Fabulous Ones again for the Southwest Tag Team Titles.

Roy Lee Welch: They're going to get rewarded for what they did to me!? Why don't I get a tag team title match with a different partner seeing as I'm the one who had to call Stanley Blackburn for months to even get the title shot in the first place!? Steve I've got to go, I can't be out here any more or I'm going to start using some words that aren't allowed on television.

-Roy Lee Welch leaves the interview area

Steve Stack: Roy Lee Welch is very upset and I can't say that I blame him one bit. Being attacked by your own family and locked in the trunk of your own car would make anyone see red. We're going to hear Robert Fuller and Jimmy Golden's side of the story later on in the hour but right now we're going to go down to the ring for our first match of the day with Steve Pardee taking on Jimmy Doo.

Jimmy Doo vs. Steve Pardee

Steve Pardee dominates this match right from the bell and after a few minutes of action catches Jimmy Doo in his patented Bulldog headlock and wins the match with ease.

Steve Stack: A very impressive victory for the always popular Steve Pardee! We'll be seeing Steve back in action this Sunday night at The HemisFair Arena in a big six man tag team match that we'll be talking about more later on in the program. Right now we've got to take another time out for our sponsors but don't go away because when we come back we're going to show you the unmasking of Mr. Mexico and hear from Stanley Blackburn about what happened at the end of the night last Sunday when Carl Fergie was accidentally struck with a chair in the hands of Mil Mascaras.

-Second commercial break-

Steve Stack: Welcome back to Southwest Championship Wrestling. Before we hear from Stanley Blackburn I have a video I want to show from my interview with Moose Morowski after his match with Jim Duggan at the HemisFair Arena. For those of you who weren't in attendance Sunday night, Moose Morowski turned down the offer of the briefcase full of money at the start of the match, only to attack Jim Duggan during the contest and walk off with the briefcase. Here are his comments as to why that took place.

Steve Stack: Moose we're here in the locker room of the HemisFair Arena and we just saw you abandon your partner Jim Duggan and walk off with the briefcase full of Sheik Adnan's money. Why did you turn it down at the start of the match only to turn on Duggan and leave with the money later on?

Moose Morowski: Because I had a lot of time on the apron, watching Jim Duggan get his brains beat in and not be able to make it to the corner to tag me in, to think about why I was out there in the first place. All I wanted to do was have the fans cheer me one last time before I hung up my boots and retired. But I started to think to myself, if those idiots could keep on cheering Jim Duggan while he was being a selfish partner, while he was bleeding all over the place and getting stomped on by The Zambuie Express was that something to really be proud of? Was it more important to me and my family to leave with the adoration of the fans or to leave with a really nice severance package courtesy of Sheik Adnan al-Kaissie? So once I framed it in those terms it was really an easy decision for me.

Steve Stack: You do realize that after you abandoned Jim Duggan he was able to hit the Spear on Kareem Muhammad and make it to the corner only to see you were no longer there?

Moose Morowski: Who cares? Didn't you just listen to what I said? I don't care if Jim Duggan hates me for what I did, I don't care if the fans hate me, I don't care if YOU hate me Steve Stack. This is the last time I'm ever going to step into the ring, this is the last time I'll ever be in Texas, I'm going home. I'm going home to my family in Canada and I'm going to enjoy my retirement, especially now that I have a whole lot of extra cash in my pocket.

Steve Stack: Well those were the comments of Moose Morowski and true to his word he's left Texas and is back in Canada now. We'll be talking to Jim Duggan shortly about what Moose's actions and what he had to say but right now I want to bring in the President of the AWA, Stanley Blackburn and -

-Suddenly Jose Lothario and Fidel Sierra come out to the interview area

xae92Pt.jpgidI08zd.jpg?2

Steve Stack: What are you two doing out here? This isn't your time and -

Jose Lothario: We want to talk to Stanley Blackburn! We want Mil Mascaras suspended for what he did to referee Carl Fergie! There is no place in professional wrestling for people who would attack a referee with a chair and we want to make sure that Stanley Blackburn is going to do the right thing and get Mil Mascaras out of here for good!

-Suddenly Mil Mascaras and El Gran Apollo come out to the interview area

RTByloo.jpg?1F9leReL.jpg

Mil Mascaras: Suspend me? The whole thing was your fault because you ran out and interfered with my match and cost me my chance at the Southwest Heavyweight Title! If anyone should be suspended it's your fake Mr. Mexico who is from CUBA for wrestling under that mask while he was suspended in the first place!

Fidel Sierra: That's a lie! Last Sunday night was the first night I ever wore that mask. That was the first night I was eligible to return from my 90 day suspension and I was just filling in for the real Mr. Mexico who had a family emergency and had to return to Mexico City.

Mil Mascaras: You know you're a liar!

-It looks like a brawl is about to break out at the interview area when suddenly Stanley Blackburn comes out

Stanley Blackburn: Gentlemen! This is not the time and place for you to fight and I want you to settle down right now! Jose, first of all I want you to know that I have DENIED your request to be allowed to compete with a broken hand because I know that you can not be trusted to refrain from using that cast as a weapon.

Jose Lothario: What!? You can't deny me my right to make a living!

Stanley Blackburn: You're not cleared to wrestle with a broken hand unless I allow an exception and I will not do it. I will however grant you a temporary manager's license while you're unable to compete. But you will not be managing this man here because I am now giving him ANOTHER 90 day suspension for wrestling under the Mr. Mexico mask during his original suspension!

Fidel Sierra: You can't do this to me! I told you I was only under that mask for one night, I'm not Mr. Mexico, I'm not even Mexican!

Stanley Blackburn: Jose you get him out of here now or I'm not going to be giving you that manager's license after all!

-Jose Lothario and Fidel Sierra leave the interview area

Stanley Blackburn: Now as for you Mil...I know that you hitting Carl Fergie with the chair was an accident but I've already set the precedent that violence against a referee will not be tolerated in the AWA. As such, unfortunately I am going to have to suspend you for 30 days.

Mil Mascaras: I can't believe this! Carl Fergie himself accepted my apology, I'm going to appeal this!

-Mil Mascaras storms off and Apollo goes to follow him but Stanley Blackburn stops him

Stanley Blackburn: I know the fans would have wanted to see Mil Mascaras get a rematch with Tully Blanchard due to the way that match ended last Sunday but under the circumstances I just couldn't allow that to happen. Instead, I have decided that this Sunday night Tully Blanchard will be defending the Southwest Heavyweight Title against this man right here, El Gran Apollo! Apollo you've shown tremendous ability since your arrival here in the area and I personally consider you one of the fastest rising stars in not just the AWA and all of professional wrestling. As such I think it's only fitting that you should be awarded a Southwest Heavyweight Title match. That's all I have to say at this time.

-Stanley Blackburn leaves the interview area to a mixed reaction from the crowd in The Junction

Steve Stack: Well suspending Mil Mascaras didn't make him the most popular person here with the crowd but I think overall those were fair decisions from the President of the AWA. El Gran Apollo, congratulations on receiving your Southwest Heavyweight Title match and good luck this Sunday night.

Apollo: Thank you Steve Stack. I wish my friend Mil Mascaras no was suspended but I want make him proud and win the title this Sunday.

-Apollo leaves the interview area

Steve Stack: Fans we've got to take a break now and when we come back we're going to talk to the 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan about his ongoing battle with Sheik Adnan and The Zambuie Express and we'll also meet the mountain of a man who showed up to wrestle Mike Masters last week at the HemisFair Arena, the brother of Tiny Anderson, Link Anderson. Don't go away we'll be right back!

-Third commercial break-

C8Wxz3j.jpg?1

Sheik Adnan: Jim Duggan I have received the reports from Kareem Muhammad and I know that you have twice now had your partners turn on you for the almighty dollar. You think you are some American hero but I am the one who really represents America, I am the one who is exposing what your people are all about. They do not have any loyalty to anything but MONEY, not their friends, their families or even their religion would keep them from doing my bidding if the price was right. And so Jim Duggan have you yet realized that you are all alone in this fight? Do you not yet understand that there is no one you can trust, no one you can turn to, no one that will stand by your side when I have unlimited resources to buy them away from you? This is the end of the road for you Jim Duggan, one more time I will pay to send The Zambuie Express to the HemisFair Arena and this time when they buy your partner away from you he will not just walk away, he will help The Zambuie Express destroy you once and for all! Jim Duggan you have cost me a lot of money but it will all be worth it in the end when I see the tape of you being carried out of the ring, broken and bloodies at the hands of The Zambuie Express!

Steve Stack: Well I see that Sheik Adnan has paid for another video message to be shown on the program but now I'd like to bring out the man he was just talking about, 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan!

QaIurF9.gif?1

Steve Stack: Jim it was another rough week for you at the HemisFair Arena as Moose Morowski left you high and dry and you took another beating from the Zambuie Express. What do you have to say about Moose Morowski and his actions?

Jim Duggan: I think it's a good thing for him that he ran off back to Canada before I had a chance to get my hands on him. He says he's retired from wrestling and I don't feel like chasing him down at his house but brother if I ever hear about him stepping back into the ring then I can guarantee you I'm going to get my revenge on him and after I'm finished he WILL be retired.

Steve Stack: You're scheduled for another tag match against them this week, is there anyone left that you can trust to be your partner?

Jim Duggan: You know after my match Sunday I was thinking the same things that Sheik Adnan just said on that video. I was wondering if there was anyone in the world that I could trust to help me in my fight against The Zambuie Express and then I got a phone call from maybe the only person in the world that I know WON'T take Geek Adnan's dirty money. I'm not going to spoil the surprise for the Sheik and have him send any extra mercenaries this Sunday, I'll just let everyone find out Sunday night when we come down to the ring together. But brother I can assure you this man isn't looking for any briefcases full of money he is looking to beat the brains out of The Zambuie Express and cause Sheik Adnan some trouble just like I am.

-Jim Duggan leaves the interview area and Man Mountain Link comes in with Tiny Anderson

DMCx4zE.png?1FD7xy62.jpg?1

Steve Stack: Now let me introduce everyone to Tiny Anderson's older brother "Man Mountain" Link Anderson. Link despite all the tough talk from Mike Masters out here last week about what he was going to do to you, it didn't seem like he wanted any part of you once you two were in the ring together. It was less than a minute of action before he bailed out of the ring and went back to the locker room and got himself counted out.

Link: That's right Steve Stack and there's nothing else to call the man except a coward! I came all the way here from wrestling in New Zealand for Steve Rickard to stick up for my brother. But I need to correct you on one thing, I'm actually the baby of the family and Tiny Anderson is the older brother. I just happen to be bigger than him which is how he got the name Tiny in the first place.

Steve Stack: This Sunday night you two will be teaming up together along with Steve Pardee to take on the team of Mike Masters, Art Crews and Timothy Flowers what are your thoughts about that 6 man tag team match?

Link: I don't know a lot about Steve Pardee but Tiny tells me he's really good and I saw him make short work of Jimmy Doo earlier in the show so I'm happy to have him as a partner. But honestly I'd rather get Mike Masters in the ring alone and this time get my hands on him and keep him from running away so I can make him pay for all the embarrassment he put my brother through. But I have a feeling he cried and did everything he could to block me from getting another singles match with him so I'll just have to take what I can get.

Steve Stack: I have a feeling you're right on that, I suspect the 6 man tag match came about through the negotiations of Jim Holliday avoiding another singles match. Speaking of singles matches you're scheduled for action right about now against Mike Fever so I'll let you go on down to the ring now so the fans who weren't in the HemisFair Arena last Sunday night can get the chance to see you in action for the first time.

-Man Mountain Link heads down to the ring where Mike Fever is already waiting

Mike Fever vs. 'Man Mountain' Link Anderson

Mike Fever starts the match by charging into Man Mountain Link who doesn't even budge. Fever tries it again this time bouncing off the ropes for added momentum only to find himself knocked down to the mat with Link towering over him. Fever gets up and tries to pick Link up for a bodyslam and can't even begin to get the big man off his feet and Man Mountain Link just scoops Fever up and slams him down in a Falling Powerslam and covers him for a very quick victory.

Steve Stack: Link Anderson certainly isn't called the 'Man Mountain' for nothing ladies and gentlemen! I'm not sure if even the whole team of Mike Masters, Art Crews & Timothy Flowers would be able to get him off his feet. Right now we have to take another break but when we come back we'll have an update on the condition of David Von Erich and we'll also hear from the Southwest Heavyweight Champion Tully Blanchard!

-Fourth commercial break-

Steve Stack: We're back on Southwest Championship Wrestling! Right now I'd like to play a video we received from David Von Erich from his family's ranch in Dallas, Texas with an update on his condition following the attack by Tully Blanchard and having his head slammed in the door of the steel cage.

bp8btFm.jpg?1

David Von Erich: Now I know maybe a lot of you in the Southwest area watching this video don't like me very much and I can't say that I blame you. Looking back at some of the things I did with Tully Blanchard, I don't like myself very much either. I let myself get caught up in Tully's lifestyle of fancy restaurants, high dollar suits and doing anything, no matter how dirty and low, to be a winner. Now that I'm back here at home on my family's ranch in Dallas I can see just how far I strayed off the path of what's right. I realize I'm not a guy who belongs in a high dollar suit or a fancy restaurant I'm more comfortable in my jeans in cowboy boots eating a home cooked meal or in a greasy diner somewhere. I'm not a guy who needs to hit people with a steel chair or especially a loaded purse to win my matches. And I promise you when I come back to Southwest Championship Wrestling I am going to be a new man.

I don't know when I'll be back, I won't lie to you people and tell you I'm not hurt. When Tully slammed that cage door on my head it caused a lot of damage. I still get headaches, I still have ringing in my ears, I still have trouble sleeping through the night due to the problems it's caused me. But I was born to be a professional wrestler, this is the only thing I've ever wanted to do and NOTHING will stop me from getting back into the ring. I know sooner rather than later I am going to be 100% especially with Sunshine here at the ranch with me, helping me every step of the way. And when I do get back I am going to unleash a beating on Tully Blanchard like he's never received in his life. I'm going to give him the beating his daddy should have gave him a long time ago that maybe would have kept him from being the vile disgusting man that he is today. And when I get through with Tully Blanchard he is never going to be able to do to anyone else what he did to me and he will NEVER put his hands on another woman the way he did to Sunshine. I promise you that.

Steve Stack: Those were the words of David Von Erich and I'm sure that when he comes back he'll -

-Tully comes into the interview area and interrupts Steve Stack

5R9RdmO.jpg?1

Tully Blanchard: You're sure that when he gets back he's going to get his brains beaten out, what's left of them anyway, by the greatest wrestler that Texas has ever produced the man you're looking at right now, the Southwest Heavyweight Champion, Tully Blanchard. That's what you were going to say isn't it Steve Stack?

Steve Stack: Not quite.

Tully Blanchard: And that just shows how misguided you are Steve Stack, to really believe that someone from a second rate family like the Von Erichs could ever beat anyone from the REAL Texas Dynasty, the Blanchard family. Now I think we've talked enough about the garbage that I've gotten rid of, why don't you ask me about my Southwest Heavyweight Title match this Sunday night?

Steve Stack: Alright then Tully but first I'd like to ask you how you feel about the way you kept that title last Sunday night having your title saved when Jose Lothario and Fidel Sierra interfered in the match and caused you to be disqualified?

Tully Blanchard: Saved me? All they did was save Mil Mascaras from being pinned by me, I knew he was getting ready to come off the top rope with his Flying Crossbody and I was going to counter it and beat him right in the middle of the ring like so few men have ever been able to do in this sport. Mil Mascaras is the one who was saved last Sunday, not me. And he got saved again by Stanley Blackburn because he got suspended and denied me MY right to a rematch so I could prove to everyone the truth of what I'm saying right now.

Steve Stack: That's a very...unique way of looking at it. But now with Mil Mascaras suspended you'll be defending your Southwest Heavyweight Title against one of the hottest young stars in all of professional wrestling in El Gran Apollo.

Tully Blanchard: Who cares about that punk kid? Did you forget that I beat him a few months ago when he came to the area when he was still buddies with Jose Lothario, before Jose realized he was wasting his time trying to turn that chump into a champ? I don't see where he even deserves to get in the same ring with a fine athlete like myself in the first place but since I have to defend my title against SOMEONE I guess he'll have to do. But make no mistake about it Steve Stack, he has no chance and I WILL walk out of the HemisFair Arena still YOUR Southwest Heavyweight Champion.

Steve Stack: Tully thank you for your time I think that's about enough from you for today.

Tully Blanchard: There can never be enough of me, I'm the best thing on this program each and every week.

-Tully leaves and Mike Masters comes in with 'Gentleman' Jim Holliday

BaDztba.jpg?1USc9Jzd.jpg?1
Steve Stack: Now let me welcome to the program 'Gentleman' Jim Holliday and his client Mike Masters. Jim this week at the HemisFair Arena your client is involved in a 6 man tag match teaming with Art Crews and Timothy Flowers against Man Mountain Link, Tiny Anderson and Steve Pardee. Could you tell me a little about how that match came about and why you chose Art Crews and Timothy Flowers to be Mike Masters' partners in that match?

Holliday: Well before we talk about that I just want to say what a travesty of justice it is that Mike Masters is not wrestling on television today against Roy Lee Welch for the TV title. He clearly had the man beaten last week as the time limit ran out with Roy Welch trapped in the unbreakable Full Nelson and there was no other plausible result except Welch submitting or passing out.

Steve Stack: I know that the promoters of Southwest wanted to provide a rematch here this week but with Roy Lee Welch not cleared to compete due to the stitches in the back of his head they had to postpone the match.

Holliday: I think they should have just had Welch forfeit the title since Masters is the uncrowned champion and their rematch is a foregone conclusion anyway, but moving on I'll answer your first question. I've had my eye on the team of Art Crews and Timothy Flowers since I arrived here and I think they have the potential for greatness but are currently lacking in direction. If they can prove themselves worthy of my services this week in the 6 man tag then I will take them under my wing and in no time at all I will mold them into one of the finest teams in all of professional wrestling.

Steve Stack: But how exactly did you come to have a 6 man tag match scheduled in the first place? I'm sure that Man Mountain Link was looking for a singles rematch due to the way Mike Masters ducked out of the match last week at the HemisFair Arena.

Masters: I didn't duck out of anything! He wasn't qualified to get in the ring with me so I refused to wrestle him again and -

Holliday: Hold on Mike, let me handle this. My client did not duck out of the ring last Sunday nor did he refused to wrestle Man Mountain Link again. He simply requested a match that would allow Link to prove himself worthy of the opportunity to face one of the finest athletes in all of professional wrestling, seeing as how Link had not even wrestled anyone else previously in this area. That's how the 6 man tag came about, my client is certainly not avoiding anyone and certainly not Man Mountain Link.

Steve Stack: So you're saying if Link's team is victorious this Sunday night then you'll sign for another match between him and Mike Masters?

Holliday: Well I don't know if I would go quite that far but it would certainly increase the probability of a rematch. But that's not even worth talking about as I have the utmost confidence that Mike Masters will secure the victory for his team as long as Art Crews and Timothy Flowers hold up their end of the bargain.

Steve Stack: Gentlemen I thank you for your time but we've got to take another commercial break here.

Holliday: I assure you the pleasure was all yours Steve Stack.

-Jim Holliday and Mike Masters leave the interview area

Steve Stack: Fans we've got to take one final time out for our sponsors but don't go away because when we come back I'll be talking to Robert Fuller and Jimmy Golden about what took place between them, Roy Lee Welch and The Fabulous Ones last Sunday and we'll also be seeing them in action against the team of Mike Jackson and Tony Torres. You won't want to miss it!

-Fifth and final commercial break-

SOt3yTQ.jpg?1WFfyTHp.jpg?1

Steve Stack: We're back on Southwest Championship Wrestling and standing with me now are Robert Fuller and Jimmy Golden. I wanted to get your -

Robert Fuller: Hold on just a minute! What kind of an introduction was that? First of all your forget to introduce me as the AWA National Heavyweight Champion, which I am, and this title belt right here is the proof of it. And you also forgot to announce us as the uncrowned Southwest Tag Team Champions which is what we are because we would have won that match against The Fabulous Ones if it wasn't for our no good runt of a cousin Roy Lee Welch sticking his nose into our business and causing a disqualification.

Steve Stack: Well introductions aside, I think that match was very much Roy Lee Welch's business seeing as he was the one scheduled to team with you and not this man here Jimmy Golden.

Jimmy Golden: Oh who cares about that? Everyone should be able to take a look at me and see I'm more qualified to be Robert's partner than that little punk, he barely comes up to either of our waists and thinks he deserves a Southwest Tag Team Title shot.

Steve Stack: Well he IS the Southwest Television Champion.

Jimmy Golden: That's supposed to impress us? We know how he won that belt, we aren't going to claim some wimp who has to win a title due to a woman swinging her purse around as part of our family.

Steve Stack: Let's move on the story from Roy Lee Welch that he told earlier today -

Robert Fuller: Hold on hold on! Before we get to that, let's talk about the story that you DIDN'T tell out here. You didn't tell these people where The Fabulous Ones are this week. They're back in OUR stomping grounds in Alabama and Georgia chasing after the National Tag Team Titles that they LOST to the team of Bobby Eaton and Tom Prichard. That right there should tell you what's going to happen when they step into the ring with us on Sunday night The Heavenly Bodies are the 2nd best team in the Southeastern area, after us of course, so if The Fabs couldn't beat them what chance do they have to beat us?

Steve Stack: It is true that The Fabulous Ones lost the AWA National Tag Team Titles to the team of Bobby Eaton and Tom Prichard but it certainly was not without the help of their manager Jim Cornette. They have a rematch scheduled for tonight and it remains to be seen whether or not The Heavenly Bodies will be able to retain those National Titles or whether The Fabs will be back here Sunday night with both sets of belts. But you avoided the question I wanted to ask, is it true what Roy Lee Welch said about what took place in the airport parking lot last Sunday?

Jimmy Golden: Yea it's true. I did knock him on the back of his stupid head with a tire iron and throw him into the trunk of his car only because I know he didn't have the sense to move out of the way and allow me to team with Robert in his place. Everyone saw how great of a team we are and how we would have won the match without him sticking his nose into it and this Sunday we're going to walk out of the HemisFair Arena the new Southwest Tag Team Champions.

Robert Fuller: The only part of that story that wasn't true was the part about Tony Torres breaking his window to help him out of the trunk! I've heard about people like Tony Torres about how those border jumpers like to steal cars and I think he just ended up opening the trunk by accident when he was trying to hot wire the car and run off with it!

Steve Stack: Ok I think we've heard enough from you two now with that kind of talk, it's time for the main event of you two against the team of Tony Torres and Mike Jackson.

Jimmy Golden: You said it right we ARE the main event, every time we step into the ring anywhere we go in the country and we're gonna make short work of these two goofs.

Mike Jackson & Tony Torres vs. Jimmy Golden and Robert Fuller

Mike Jackson and Tony Torres are already in the ring waiting on their opponents and Fuller & Golden hit the ring and just immediately start brawling with them. The referee goes ahead and rings the bell with all 4 men still in the ring and Robert Fuller quickly tosses Mike Jacskon out through the ropes onto the floor and then he and Jimmy start pounding on young Tony Torres. They do a double bodyslam on him and then Jimmy picks him up and holds him into position for Robert Fuller to start setting up the Fuller Leglock when suddenly Roy Lee Welch hits the ring with a chain wrapped around his fist and the two of them see him coming and bail out of the ring! Welch tries to goad them back into the ring with him but they are content to stand at ringside and talk trash to him instead until they see Mike Jackson start to get up on the outside and Robert Fuller grabs him and rams his head into the post. Welch dives out of the ring after them and they take off back to the locker room.

Steve Stack: I don't know what the official decision is on that match it barely even got started! But we're just about out of time anyway so fans don't miss your chance to see another huge night of action this Sunday night at The HemisFair Arena! You'll see Robert Fuller and Jimmy Golden taking on The Fabulous Ones for the Southwest Tag Team Titles, Tully Blanchard defending the Southwest Heavyweight Title against El Gran Apollo, Jim Duggan teaming with a partner he guarantees will not turn his back on him against the formidable Zambuie Express and much much more! Make sure to be there Sunday night and be right back here next week for more of the hottest hour in all of professional wrestling right here on Southwest Championship Wrestling!

Southwest Championship Wrestling @ San Antonio, TX - The HemisFair Arena 11/6/83

Yin & Yang vs. Bruiser Costa & Terry Adonis - Yang started the match against Bruiser Costa and ended up dominating him on the mat, keeping the big Bruiser Costa grounded on the mat despite Costa's weight advantage. Yang eventually tagged out to Yin who got caught in Costa & Adonis' corner where they worked him over and used underhanded tactics to maintain the advantage, including using the tag rope to choke him. Eventually Yin was able to duck a punch from Adonis while Costa was holding him from behind which sent Costa flying off the apron. Yin used the miscommunication as the opening to dash into his corner and make the tag to Yang! Yang dodged a charge from Adonis who went crashing into the corner and then Yin exacted some revenge by choking Terry Adonis with the tag rope. Yang however grabbed Yin and pulled him off of Adonis and the two started to argue which allowed Adonis to sneak up behind Yang and roll him up for a cover with his feet on the ropes to steal the victory.

Winners: Bruiser Costa & Terry Adonis in 8:47 after Terry Adonis rolled Yang up and pinned him with his feet on the ropes

After the match Yin and Yang had a long stare down with each other before they left out of opposite sides of the ring and walked back to the locker room separately

Larry Hamilton vs. The Canadian - Larry Hamilton started this match looking to fight which played right into the hands of The Canadian as Hamilton's strength is his skill as an amateur wrestler. The Canadian ended up getting the better of the brawl after a short period of Hamilton firing away on him. The Canadian threw Hamilton out of the ring and continually kept him from getting back inside by kicking him through the ropes and kicking him down off the apron. Finally Hamilton made a desperate charge under the ropes to get back in but The Canadian ended up catching him with a big running boot which put his Hamilton's lights out and The Canadian covered him for the count of 3.

Winner: The Canadian in 6:09 after a Running Boot as Larry Hamilton was getting back to his feet after sliding under the ropes

Yoshi Seito vs. Ken Lucas - Yoshi Seito started this match by bowing to Ken Lucas and wanting a handshake and then attacking Lucas when Lucas fell for it. Yoshi Seito worked on stayed on Lucas and wouldn't let him recover but was unable to pin him. Eventually Yoshi Seito went for his German Suplex to end the match but Ken Lucas went around behind him and locked in his Sleeper Hold and despite Yoshi Seito valiantly trying to fight his way out of it, eventually his lights went out and after Carl Fergie raised his hand and it dropped for the 3rd time, Ken Lucas was declared the winner.

Winner: Ken Lucas in 9:12 after putting Yoshi Seito out with the Sleeper Hold

Mike Masters, Art Crews & Timothy Flowers vs. Man Mountain Link, Tiny Anderson & Steve Pardee - Link started the match for his team and tried to get Masters to get in the ring with him but Masters refused to get in. Instead, Art Crews started the match and had no luck in doing anything with Link and eventually tagged out to Timothy Flowers who had the same "success" in trying to get Link off of his feet. Link threw Flowers back in the corner and told him to tag out to Masters but Masters instead stepped down off the ring apron. Link then decided to tag out to Steve Pardee which brought Mike Masters back onto the apron and asking for the tag. Masters tagged in and then Pardee baited him close to his corner and then tagged out to Link which sent Masters scurrying back to his corner to tag out and rush out of the ring which got him a lot of cat calling from the crowd. Link tagged back out to Steve Pardee and Pardee eventually locked up with Timothy Flowers. Pardee and Flowers chain wrestled for a bit until Pardee got the better of it and wound up with a headlock on Flowers. Pardee pulled Flowers over to the corner in the headlock and tagged out to Tiny Anderson who came in and took over the headlock. His control was short lived however as Flowers was able to push him off into the ropes and then blasted him with a big clothesline as he came back. Flowers then tagged out to Mike Masters who came in and just started beating the hell out of Tiny Anderson and strutting around and posing while Tiny was down on the mat. Masters threw Tiny into the corner and he and his partners took turns tagging in and out and working over Anderson in their corner. Eventually Crews went up to the second rope for a knee drop on Tiny Anderson but Anderson was able to roll out of the way and then made it to his corner to make the tag out to Man Mountain Link while Crews was still on the mat holding his knee! Link grabbed Crews as he was getting up and took his hand and tried to tag in Mike Masters but Masters and Timothy Flowers both dropped down off the apron to avoid being tagged. Link then picked Crews up and dropped him down with the big Falling Powerslam and pinned him while staring at Mike Masters.

Winners: Man Mountain Link, Tiny Anderson and Steve Pardee in 10:36 after Link pinned Art Crews following a Falling Powerslam

After the match Link tried to challenge Mike Masters to get in the ring with him but Masters was having none of it and finally Link left the ring with his team mates. Jim Holliday then said something to Mike Masters and Timothy Flowers and the two of them got back into the ring where Art Crews was getting back up to his feet. Mike Masters started arguing with Crews about losing the match and Crews started shouting back at him about not tagging in and then Timothy Flowers blindsided Art Crews from behind! Mike Masters grabbed Crews and put him in the Full Nelson while Timothy Flowers slapped him around and then Masters flung him down on the mat and Masters, Flowers & Jim Holliday walked back to the locker room together.

Mr. Saito vs. Eddie Gilbert - Eddie Gilbert starts the match playing cat and mouse against the larger, stronger Mr. Saito and gets some good shots in on Saito until Saito finally is able to grab hold of him when Gilbert misses on a dropkick. Saito starts beating on Gilbert and eventually starts working on his knee, getting him trapped in the kneeling figure four. Gilbert manages to finally scoot himself in the ropes and tries to avoid getting caught again by Saito but eventually finds himself back down on the mat, this time caught in the Scorpion Deathlock. Gilbert again manages to pull himself into the ropes to cause a break. Saito gets behind Gilbert and tries to lock in the Japanese Sleeper but Gilbert rushes forward and drops down, causing Saito to crash head first into the turnbuckle and fall backwards. Gilbert tried to climb to the turnbuckles to set up for his Top Rope Dropkick but the damage done to his legs earlier in the match caused him to be slowed down and Saito was able to get up and shake the ropes, causing Gilbert to fall down and crotch himself on the top turnbuckle. Saito then pulled him down off the top rope into a Saito Suplex and pinned him for the count of 3.

Winner: Mr. Saito in 11:52 after a Saito Suplex

Jim Duggan & a mystery partner vs. The Zambuie Express - Kareem Muhammad grabbed the house mic before the match and announced that it didn't matter who Jim Duggan's partner was because he knew they would take the briefcase full of money just like Duggan's last two partners and this time the three of them would take out Jim Duggan together and finish him off for good. Jim Duggan then came out to the ring alone and Muhammad mocked him on the house mic saying he couldn't even find a partner to abandon him for Sheik Adnan's money when suddenly Ron Starr came out of the crowd and got in the ring behind Muhammad and Elijah Akeem while they were focused on Duggan in the aisle. Starr grabbed the metal briefcase away from Muhammad and when Muhammad turned around to see who it was, Starr smashed the briefcase over his head! Duggan then rushed into the ring and he and Starr went to work just teeing off of The Zambuie Express, much to the delight of the crowd in the HemisFair Arena!

The Zambuie Express retreated to the floor while Duggan did his trademark stomp in the corner to rile up the crowd even more and Ron Starr stood in the center of the ring with the briefcase and challenged them to come back into the ring to get it. Referee Jack Howe tried to get things settled down so the match could start but instead The Zambuie Express started throwing chairs into the ring which Duggan and Starr had to dodge and then The Zambuies tried to rush the ring but got caught coming in and once again ate a whole lot of punches from Duggan and Starr! Duggan caught Kareem Muhammad with a Spear that sent the big men crashing through the ropes and out onto the floor while Starr nailed Elijah Akeem with his big running knee lift and Akeem dropped and rolled out of the ring. Duggan and Starr challenged them again to get back into the ring but The Zambuies had enough and instead retreated back to the locker room, leaving the briefcase full of Sheik Adnan's money in the ring with Duggan and Starr! Duggan and Starr held up the briefcase while the crowd cheered and then motioned to each other that they would split the money and walked back to the locker room together.

Result: No contest

After El Gran Apollo had been introduced and was standing in the ring waiting on Tully Blanchard, a man with wild hair and a long beard suddenly rolled out from under the ring and attacked El Gran Apollo! He pulled a spike out of his pocket and jammed it into the head of El Gran Apollo before police rushed the ring and pulled him off of Apollo and removed him from the ringside area. The fans in the arena were stunned at what they just saw and it seemed like referee Jack Howe was going to call off the match but El Gran Apollo was able to recover and despite already being cut open he demanded that the match be allowed to continue. The ringside doctor was allowed to quickly bandage up Apollo's cut while Tully made his entrance and Jack Howe continued to ask Apollo if he was sure he wanted the match to continue but Apollo was adamant about receiving his title match and the match was allowed to take place.

Southwest Heavyweight Title: El Gran Apollo vs. Tully Blanchard - Tully started the match totally confident about his chances of victory, mocking Apollo having his head bandaged and treating him like a joke. Apollo responded with a big punch that floored Tully and then climbed on top of him and started pounding on Tully! Referee Jack Howe pulled him off of Tully and Tully rolled out of the ring and complained about the use of a closed fist and demanded that Apollo by DQ'd. Instead, Tully started being counted out and finally returned to the ring at the count of 9. Tully apologized for mocking Apollo and offer a handshake only for Apollo to grab his hand and pull him into a big armdrag! Apollo then grabbed an armbar much to the delight of the crowd. Tully managed to make it into the ropes to force a break. Tully tried for a cheapshot off the break only to get caught in another armdrag and put back in the armbar! This time Tully got out of the armbar by raking Apollo's eyes and then started hammering him with punches once he got free. Jack Howe tried to get Tully to open up the fist but Tully was all over Apollo and when Jack Howe threatened to DQ him, Tully then tossed Apollo out of the ring to the floor and went out after him. Apollo tried to fight back when Tully came out on the floor after him but Tully cut him off with a knee to the midsection and then slammed his head off the apron and pulled the bandage off of Apollo's head and started working the cut and Apollo quickly started bleeding again. Tully quickly rolled back in and out of the ring at 9 to break the count and continued his assault on Apollo outside the ring. He slammed Apollo's head into the ringpost and then went back into the ring and waited for Jack Howe to count Apollo out. Tully strutted around and trash talked the crowd while Jack Howe made his count and Apollo struggled to get back to his feet. Apollo was roll back into the ring just before the count of 9 only to have Tully immediately start stomping on him and then use his feet to push Apollo back out to the floor. The referee tried to stop Tully from going out after Apollo but Tully went out the other side and attacked Apollo just as he was getting back to his feet. Tully smashed Apollo's head off the guard rail and Apollo fell backwards onto the floor of the HemisFair Arena and Tully got back in the ring and waited on Jack Howe to count Apollo out. Apollo was once again able to roll back into the ring just before the 10 count. Tully met him again with some stomps and pushed him right back out again and followed him out once more. Tully went to bodyslam Apollo down on the concrete floor of the HemisFair Arena but Apollo somehow found the strength to block it and hit a bodyslam of his own! He rolled back in to break the count and then came back out after Tully and charged at Tully just as he was getting back to his feet but Tully managed to dodge out of the way at the last second and Apollo instead went crashing into the ring steps and went flying over them. Tully crawled back into the ring and watched as Apollo once again tried valiantly to beat the count but just as he was getting back to his feet at the count of 8, he collapsed back down to the floor from the loss of blood and was counted out.

Winner and STILL the AWA Southwest Heavyweight Champion: Tully Blanchard in 11:44 after El Gran Apollo was counted out

Before the introductions began, the ring announcer declared that this match had been appointed a special guest ring announcer: Roy Lee Welch! Roy Lee Welch came down to the ring to a good reaction from the crowd. He began his announcement of the challengers as "coming down the aisle the two most low down, dirty, rotten, worthless backstabbers that have every come out of the state of Tennessee the challengers Robert Fuller and Jimmy Golden" Fuller and Golden were incensed at their introduction and quickly got into the ring and into the fact of Roy Lee Welch. They looked about ready to attack him when suddenly The Fabulous Ones rushes the ring and attacked them! Roy Lee Welch left the ring and quickly announced The Fabulous Ones and referee Carl Fergie went ahead and rang the bell with all four men in the ring brawling

Southwest Tag Team Titles: Robert Fuller & Jimmy Golden vs. The Fabulous Ones - The match starts with everyone in the ring brawling with Steve Keirn and Jimmy Golden in one corner and Robert Fuller and Stan Lane in the opposite corner. Fuller and Golden start getting the better of the brawl and attempt to whip The Fabs into each other only to have The Fabs reverse and send Golden and Fuller crashing into each other in the middle of the ring. Fuller and Golden quickly roll out of the ring and regroup while The Fabs hold the center of the ring, soaking in the cheers of The HemisFair crowd. Finally things settle down to a normal tag match as Steve Keirn leaves the ring and goes out onto the apron and Robert Fuller gets back into the ring to face off with Stan Lane. Robert Fuller wants a handshake but Stan Lane slaps him in the face instead! Robert comes charging at Lane but Lane ducks and shoves him into the corner where he and Steve Keirn just start beating the crap out of Robert Fuller. Carl Fergie tries to restore order but Lane distracts him while Keirn chokes Robert with the tag rope and then drops him with a big punch. Robert gets up begging for a time out and The Fabs just mock him and allow him to tag out to Jimmy Golden while Stan Lane tags out to Steve Keirn. Golden also comes in asking for a handshake and Steve Keirn fakes like he's going to slap him with his left hand which causes Golden to duck and then Keirn comes up with a big right hand that drops Golden to the mat and sends him scooting backwards into his corner with Robert Fuller. Robert and Jimmy have a strategy session in the corner as Steve Keirn challenges one of them to come into the center of the ring with him. Golden comes back out of the corner and again tries for a handshake but Steve Keirn just laughs at him and then Jimmy Golden spits at Steve Keirn! Steve Keirn comes charging at Golden who retreats into his corner and Keirn gets baited into going in after him where he gets double teamed. Carl Fergie tries to get in the middle of it but Golden keeps him distracted from seeing Keirn getting choked on the ropes by Fuller. Fuller and Golden quickly take over control of the match with Steve Keirn in their corner, double teaming him and making quick tags to stay on top. Keirn is finally able to break away from them and make a desperate diving tag out to Stan Lane after ducking under a double clothesline and Stan Lane comes in fired up! He takes down both Fuller and Golden with big karate kicks and then gets Golden in the corner and starts raining punches down on him as the fans count along. Robert Fuller runs over to the neutral corner on the apron while taking something out of his tights and then nails Lane with a punch that sends Lane flying backwards off of Golden and down to the mat. Golden discretely takes the object from Robert Fuller behind the referee's back and nails Lane with it as he gets back to his feet. Golden passes it back to Robert as the fans alert referee Carl Fergie about a foreign object and he checks Jimmy Golden over but doesn't find anything. Golden tags in Robert who hits Lane again with the object but Lane is able to kick out at the count of 2. The fans continue to tell referee Carl Fergie about a foreign object so Robert passes it off to Jimmy who hides it in the turnbuckle while Fergie checks them both. Lane crawls to his corner to try and make a tag during all this but Robert cuts him off and whips him back into the corner with Golden who takes the chain out from the turnbuckle pad and nails Lane with it again while Robert has the referee distracted and then hides the chain back in the turnbuckle pad again.

Golden gets tagged back in and Robert goes to hit Lane with the chain when suddenly Roy Lee Welch gets on the house mic and tells referee Carl Fergie that Fuller and Golden are hiding the chain in the turnbuckle pad! Fergie rushes to the corner to look for it and Fuller and Golden get him misdirected long enough for Robert Fuller to throw the chain out onto the floor. During all the confusion however Stan Lane was able to crawl to the corner and tag in Steve Keirn! Jimmy Golden tried to cut him off but was too late and Keirn caught him rushing into the corner with some big right hands! Robert Fuller tried to rush in to help Jimmy but ended up crashing into Jimmy and then as Jimmy Golden was getting back to his feet, Keirn bounced off the ropes and nailed with him a Flying Forearm and pinned him while Stan Lane rushed in to keep Fuller from breaking up the pin!

Winners and STILL the AWA Southwest Tag Team Champions: The Fabulous Ones in 14:54 after a Flying Forearm from Steve Keirn on Jimmy Golden

After the match The Fabulous Ones celebrated with their belts as Robert Fuller pulled Jimmy Golden out of the ring and helped him regain his senses. The two of them then went over to the timer's table and jumped Roy Lee Welch! They started beating on him until The Fabs saw what was going on and went out after them! The two teams had a short brawl around ringside with The Fabs getting the better of it until Fuller and Golden retreated back to the locker room. Roy Lee Welch got up from the floor and The Fabulous Ones were there to give him the handshakes they denied him the week before.

Rotten Ron Starr on the side of good for once! Very interesting. Love the Fuller/Golden team and their match with the Fab Ones! Roy Lee Welch causing havoc is great especially against Golden and Fuller. While they were not all household names, they were huge in their territories and you are getting a lot out of them.

Great idea having such a good wrestler in his prime be one of your main refs.

Love Mr. Saito. I feel he was one of the best heels of the time and he makes your promotion that much better.

Ron Starr as the Duggan partner was a call back to the stuff that happened in August/September where Ron Starr beat Adnan in the TV Title tournament and Adnan had Abdullah the Butcher attack him and break his ribs. That's why Duggan had the confidence that Starr wasn't going to take the briefcase because Starr was the only other person around who had a personal vendetta against Adnan and was out for revenge. He also had a few babyface runs in various places especially up in Grand Prix even if he was a heel more often than not.

Glad you're enjoying the stuff between Welch & his family. I'm a huge fan of all of those guys and the Southeastern territory as a whole so it's been fun doing some family feud stuff between them. I thought it would be a fun twist to have him as a special ring announcer for the match as he could get involved in the finish without actually having to do another run-in like he did the week before.

I'm really not high at all on Carl Fergie as a wrestler but thought he was a great referee in Mid-South so I thought it was worth eating up a roster spot to have him in that role for me.

As for Saito he's kind of lost in the shuffle right now with the Lucas/Gilbert stuff being a bit of a placeholder feud for all of them but I'm a HUGE fan of his and have some stuff in the future planned to give him a much more prominent role.

Taped at The Junction in San Antonio, TX on 11/7

Southwest Championship Wrestling airing on Saturday 11/12 in local markets

-Show intro-

steverstack1_zps2225fa25.jpg

Steve Stack: Welcome to another edition of Southwest Championship Wrestling, the most exciting hour in all of professional wrestling! We have some great action in store for today including a Southwest Television Title match with Mike Masters facing off against the champion Roy Lee Welch. But before we get to anything else I have to talk about all the things that have gone on behind the scenes here over the past week involving threats of lawsuits, injunctions and an attempt to outright buy this television time away from Southwest Championship Wrestling. For those of you who were in the HemisFair Arena last Sunday night, you saw 'Rugged' Ron Starr make his return to the area as the surprise partner of 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan and the two of them gave The Zambuie Express quite a beating and left the arena with the briefcase full of Sheik Adnan's money that The Zambuie Express brought with them. Sheik Adnan was incredibly upset over his money winding up in the hands of Ron Starr and Jim Duggan and demanded that AWA President Stanley Blackburn force Duggan and Starr to return the money or he would declare war on Southwest Championship Wrestling. When Stanley Blackburn didn't return his phone calls within 24 hours, Sheik Adnan was true to his war and had his lawyers swarm the offices of Southwest Championship Wrestling threatening to place injunctions against any events taking place, promising to sue Stanley Blackburn and even talking about Sheik Adnan calling the television stations and buying away the time slots that this program appears on.

This seems to have all been a calculated maneuver on Sheik Adnan's part because two days later he agreed to back off of all of those threats if Abdullah the Butcher would be allowed to return for one night only to the HemisFair Arena. When we come back we are going to see a video from Sheik Adnan himself revealing the details of who Abdullah the Butcher will be facing THIS Sunday night at The HemisFair Arena and we'll get the response from his opponent so don't go away, you won't want to miss it!

-First commercial break-

C8Wxz3j.jpg?1

Sheik Adnan: Jim Duggan! Ron Starr! You two thought you had outsmarted me, you thought you had gotten the better of me by stealing my money but your greed has backfired on you! The Zambuie Express ran away and allowed you to steal my briefcase but the man you will have to deal with now will never run! You have now opened the door and let in the agent of your own demise! Because now to appease me and my endless supply of lawyers, Stanley Blackburn has agreed to allow a return of Abdullah the Butcher! This Sunday night Ron Starr you are going to have to face the Butcher one on one and this time he is going to make what he did to you a few months ago look like child's play. Stanley Blackburn thought he was winning some kind of victory by refusing to sanction Abdullah the Butcher's match and instead making it a Lights Out match but that is only playing right into my hands! Now the Butcher doesn't have to play by any rules, there will be no rules! He will destroy you Ron Starr! He is going to bleed you and break you! This time he will not just break a few of your ribs, he will break every one of them! And this time there will be no return for you Ron Starr! And I know what will happen after that, Jim Duggan will beg and please with Stanley Blackburn to allow the Butcher to return one more time, and the one night only will become two nights only and then Abdullah the Butcher will do the same thing to Jim Duggan that he will do to Ron Starr this Sunday night, he will break him and bury his career forever! I don't even care anymore about you stealing my money because that briefcase of cash will not even come close to paying for the damage that Abdullah the Butcher is going to do to you! Beware of the Butcher! He is coming and you will never recover from the destruction that he will reign down upon you!

Vng9CVN.jpg

Steve Stack: Well fans you just heard from Sheik Adnan who looks to be beside himself with joy about Abdullah the Butcher being allowed to return, even in a non-sanctioned Lights Out match. I'm standing here now with the man he'll be facing Sunday night, 'Rugged' Ron Starr. Ron what are your thoughts about having to face the big mad man from Sudan in a match that essentially has no rules?

Ron Starr: Maybe Sheik Adnan thinks I'm supposed to be afraid to fight Abdullah the Butcher, maybe you or maybe these people think that too Steve Stack. And maybe that would even be the smart thing to do, to be concerned, to be fearful of my health and my well being. But the only thing I feel is excitement! Anticipation! I can't wait to get in the ring with Abdullah the Butcher and make him pay for breaking my ribs, to make him pay for putting me out of action for 2 months. I don't think he'll understand the financial strain he put on me for putting me out of work but he'll understand the pain I am going to dish out on him when I make HIM bleed, when I break bones in HIS body and when I put HIM out of work because he's too broken and beat up to wrestle! Now I don't have anything more to say about Abdullah the Butcher I've got a match with Mike Fever schedule for right now and I'll let that match do the rest of my talking for me.

Mike Fever vs. 'Rugged' Ron Starr

Ron Starr hits the ring and immediately attacks Mike Fever! He just pounds away on his unfortunate looking competitor and then blasts him with a big running knee lift that looks to almost take Fever's head off and then covers him for a very quick victory.

Steve Stack: Ron Starr looks to be fully healed from his rib injuries and totally fired up for his Lights Out match against Abdullah the Butcher this Sunday night! I'm sure it's going to be a wild one and you won't want to miss it! You also won't want to miss what we have coming up for you after the break because when we come back from break Robert Fuller and Jimmy Golden will be out here and they say they have a surprise for their cousin Roy Lee Welch so don't go away!

-Second commercial break-

T9RfzgC.jpg

Steve Stack: We're back on Southwest Championship Wrestling and with me now are Robert Fuller, Jimmy Golden and the man standing behind them is the brother of Robert Fuller, I suppose you could call him the leader of the family, The Tennessee Stud Ron Fuller.

Ron Fuller: That's right Steve Stack, I AM the leader of this family. I am the one and only Tennessee Stud and I have been forced to come down to this rinky dink town of San Antonio to fix a problem that's been going on in my family for far too long. Roy Lee Welch you should have kept your nose out of the family business you should have got you a job working at Mac Donalds somewhere where you could have spent your life serving hamburgers instead of being an embarrassment to the rest of this family of real rasslers and champions. Boy you made the biggest mistake of your life when you had to run your big mouth last Sunday night and cost these two men the Southwest Tag Team Titles because now The Stud is here and The Stud is going to make sure your wrestling career is over for good so we don't ever have to worry about your ruining this family's reputation any more.

Steve Stack: Well Ron if you're the leader of the family let me ask you WHY you and your brother Robert and your cousin Jimmy have this vendetta against Roy Lee Welch? Why is there such an animosity between the three of you for your cousin Roy when it seems like Roy really didn't give any cause for all of this hatred. He's been out here repeatedly saying how he wants to make peace in the family even after a man was sent down here with a promise of $10,000 to cripple him and put him out of wrestling.

Ron Fuller: Steve Stack since you asked the question I'm going to have to give you a little family history to answer your question. Our grandfather's name was Roy Welch, who is also the grandfather of Roy Lee Welch and the man he is named after. Now for some reason our grand daddy didn't want our father Buddy to get in the rasslin business and told him he wasn't allowed to take the name of Welch and so he became Buddy Fuller. And our daddy made the name Fuller even greater than the name Welch not just as a wrestler but a promoter and the Welch side of the family became jealous. That's how Roy Lee's father Lester Welch, our uncle, who was supposed to be a business partner ended up screwing our father out of the towns he was promoting wrestling in and sold them out from under him to The Fields family and gave our father nothing after all the hard work he did in building up those towns and making them great places to see professional wrestling. So not only are we going to end the wrestling career of Roy Lee Welch to avenge our father but to prove once and for all that the Fuller family name is greater than the Welch name ever has been or ever will be.

Steve Stack: But all of this seems like ancient history! Why would you still be trying to settle a decade or older grudge that involved your father and your uncle?

Robert Fuller: Maybe you don't have any family pride but we do Steve Stack! And we remember how our lives changed after Roy Lee's father, that snake Lester Welch, stole food right off of our table and sold everything out from under our father. We remember when there wasn't enough to eat, we remember when there wasn't enough money to keep the heat on in the cold of the winter, we remember what it was like as kids to grow up and not get any presents for Christmas because your daddy didn't have the money to buy you anything. And we remember who was the cause of it all and we want to make Lester Welch feel the pain that we felt by having his son run back home and cry about how his career his was ended at the hands of the Fullers! We want Lester Welch to know that it may have taken years and years but the Fullers have paid him back with interest for the things that he did!

Steve Stack: Jimmy Golden what is your part in all of this? I suppose I can understand Robert and Ron's motivation in all of this even if I feel it's misguided but I don't understand why you've thrown in to be a part of it.

Jimmy Golden: I got to see both sides of this whole thing when I was growing up Steve Stack. I was over at Robert and Ron's house when they didn't have no heat, when they didn't have nothing to eat, when they didn't have no presents to open on Christmas morning. And I was also over at Roy Lee Welch's house, where he grew up like a little tyrant, a whiny little brat who always got his way, who got everything a kid could ever want on Christmas and still complained about the one little thing he didn't get. And when I got older I found out how his family was able to afford so much more than Robert and Ron's and it made me sick that these two great upstanding men had to grow up in such impoverished conditions while a rotten punk like Roy Lee Welch was the beneficiary of their misery, growing up in total luxury and not appreciating a damn thing about it. So of course I'm on Robert and Ron's side, of course I want to see them get their revenge on Roy and I want to see the name of Welch buried once and for all in the sport of professional wrestling!

Steve Stack: I think we've perhaps talked enough about family history now, let's talk about your match this Sunday night. It will be the three of you taking on the team of The Fabulous Ones and Roy Lee Welch in a six man tag team match. If your team is victorious then you will be able to choose any kind of match or matches, as all 3 of you included in the deal, that you want for next week at The HemisFair Arena. But if The Fabulous Ones and Roy Lee Welch are victorious then all 3 of you will be barred from any further championship matches in this area for one year!

Ron Fuller: I know that little runt came up with that idea because he knows we want to take the Southwest TV Title from him and take it back to Alabama. But it's not going to matter, we're going to win that 6 man tag team match this Sunday and then Robert and Jimmy are going to choose a Tennessee Street Fight rematch with The Fabs and finally take those Southwest Tag Team Titles away from the pretty boys. And then I'm going to make an I Quit match with me and Roy for the TV Title and I'm going to do what Bill Ash couldn't do, I'm going to break Roy's leg with the Fuller Leglock, I'm going to end his career and I'm going to take that TV Title away from him, the only title he's ever won in his career and I'm going to make sure I get some of Roy's blood on it before I take it back to my father and show it to him. And finally my father will know that revenge has been dished out, that the Welch family has been snuffed out of wrestling once and for all and that the Fullers have had the last laugh.

-The Fullers and Jimmy Golden leave the interview area

Steve Stack: This may very well be the most personal issue I have ever seen in my many years in professional wrestling. I've never seen a family so torn apart by hatred and jealousy and I can only imagine how Roy Lee Welch feels hearing everything that was just said about him and his father. We'll be talking to Roy Lee Welch in our next segment but right now I'm scheduled to talk to his opponent for TV today, the challenger for Roy's TV Title, Mike Masters and his manager 'Gentleman' Jim Holliday.

BaDztba.jpg?1USc9Jzd.jpg?1

Steve Stack: Welcome to the program. Before we talk about today's TV Title match, Mr. Holliday I wanted to ask you about the 6 man tag team match from last Sunday night. At the end of the match we saw you have a little conference with Mike Masters and Timothy Flowers outside the ring and then the two of them went back inside the ring and attacked their partner for the match Art Crews. Why exactly did you instruct them to turn on Art Crews and attack him?

Holliday: It's very simple Steve Stack and really shouldn't require an explanation if you were paying attention. Mike Masters and Timothy Flowers were putting on an incredible display of wrestling ability and toughness during the match only to be continually brought down by the inability of Art Crews. I wanted everyone in the arena, and especially Mike Masters and Timothy Flowers, to know that they are a cut above a guy like Art Crews. To know that they are the cream of the crop, two of the absolute best rising stars in all of professional wrestling while Art Crews is someone who has never been anything in wrestling and never will be. Timothy Flowers came into this area with a huge albatross around his neck and Sunday night I set him free from it and I promise you this Sunday night you will see an entirely new man in Timothy Flowers when he steps into the ring against his former partner Art Crews.

Steve Stack: I could certainly find fault with your description of that match, especially seeing as how it was Mike Masters and Timothy Flowers who refused to tag in at the end of the match, leaving Art Crews at the mercy of Man Mountain Link. But we don't have a lot of time left in this segment so let's move on and quickly talk about the main event of this program with Mike Masters taking on the Southwest Television Champion, Roy Lee Welch.

Holliday: I think Roy's family just said about all that needed to be said about what kind of a man he is. The only thing they got wrong was Ron Fuller saying he was going to take the TV title away from Roy because he won't have that TV Title after today because he won't be saved by the bell this time, Mike Masters is going to come into this match focused on getting that Full Nelson locked in as soon as possible so there won't be any time limits saving his belt this time.

Steve Stack: I'd like to talk just a little bit more about that match and Mike Masters' match this Sunday night with Steve Pardee but the producer is telling me we're out of time on this segment so Mr. Holliday, Mike Masters thank you for your time out here today and we'll certainly see if you're able to make good on that threat of taking the TV Title away from Roy Lee Welch later on in the program. Right now we've got to take a commercial break but when we come back we are going to talk to the Southwest Television Champion Roy Lee Welch about his title match today and get his side of the story after everything that was said out here earlier about his father and his family's history. Don't go away, we'll be right back!

-Third commercial break-

Steve Stack: Welcome back to Southwest Championship Wrestling! I'm getting ready now to bring out the Southwest Television Champion Roy Lee We-

-Suddenly Jose Lothario comes into the interview area-

idI08zd.jpg?2

Steve Stack: Jose what are you doing out here? You don't have any time scheduled on this program today and I don't have time to be interrupted.

Jose Lothario: Well you're just going to have to find the time because I have something very important I need to tell my people! Last Sunday night the man that I found to be the manager of while I wait for my hand to heal made his first appearance at the HemisFair Arena but the racist Stanley Blackburn is refusing to sanction him to wrestle in the AWA because he says he already has too many Spanish speaking people on the roster!

Steve Stack: That is an absolute lie Jose! This is why I told you I don't have time for you out here today, I am not going to let you spread those kinds of disgusting lies!

Jose Lothario: Then you tell me Steve Stack, why would Stanley Blackburn deny me my right to wrestle and force me to be a manger, why did he suspend Mil Mascaras and why is he refusing to sanction the Cuban Assassin as a wrestler?

Steve Stack: 1. Because everyone knows you would just use the cast on your right hand as a weapon, giving you an unfair advantage in your matches 2. Because Mil Mascaras hit referee Carl Fergie with a chair and the precedent has been set that violence on a referee leads to a suspension and 3. Because your man the Cuban Assassin made his first appearance here by ruining a Southwest Heavyweight Title match by attacking El Gran Apollo after he made his entrance and cut him open with a spike! An attack that has caused El Gran Apollo to miss action this week due to the severity of that cut above his eye and that amount of blood he lost last Sunday night! And I know that Stanley Blackburn has said that he WOULD allow Cuban Assassin to wrestle here if you or him pay the fine of $2500 that he received for that attack!

Jose Lothario: I refuse to be extorted! I already have my own problems being denied my right to work and now Stanley Blackburn wants to reach into my pocket even further I won't allow it! That's why I am asking my faithful fans to send money to me so that I can pay that fine and -

Steve Stack: Jose that's enough! You are not going to beg the fans to pay that fine for you on this program I am not going to allow it! Get out of here Jose!

Jose Lothario: I can't believe the way you and Stanley Blackburn are treating a legend of Texas! I will leave but this is not the last you will hear of me!

-Jose Lothario leaves the interview area and Roy Lee Welch comes in

hc5IzrH.jpg?1

Steve Stack: Welcome back to Southwest Championship Wrestling! With me now is the current Southwest Television Champion, Roy Lee Welch! Roy before we talk about your match today I wanted to know what you had to say about the comments made by your cousins out here earlier?

Roy Lee Welch: Steve you have no idea how hard it was for me to sit back there in the locker room and listen to those men lie about my father and run his name into the dirt! Everything that they had to say out here about my father was a lie and I don't even know why they did it except to maybe just get in my head and mess with me! But that was a huge mistake Steve Stack because I'm madder than I've ever been in my life and this Sunday night I really don't give a damn about winning or losing that six man tag match, all I want to do is hurt somebody! I am going to be looking to send one of my cousins back to THEIR fathers crying about how they've lost their livelihood in the sport of professional wrestling and how they are going to have to find a new line of work!

Steve Stack: So you're saying your father Lester Welch never stole money from their father Buddy Fuller?

Welch: Absolutely not Steve Stack! Our fathers were business partners and when Uncle Buddy wanted to sell his towns and get out of promoting then he asked Lester Welch to handle the negotiations and then my father paid him his share of the money. The idea that Ron and Robert Fuller grew up in poverty without food or heat during the winter is the most disgusting lie I've ever heard! They were the ones who grew up having everything given to them by their father! Ron Fuller went to college and played basketball for the University of Miami! They were cocky arrogant jocks growing up who liked to push me around and beat on me because I was the "runt" of the family and Jimmy Golden was right there with them! My father never stole anything from anyone, much less his own family. Our grandfather didn't want Buddy wrestling under the Welch name because it stands for something. It stands for doing things the right way, for being a man's man, for never backing up and always being a man of your word. That's why he didn't want Buddy to wrestle under the Welch name and THAT'S why he had to make his own name as a Fuller. The apple doesn't fall very far from the tree with his sons and you can see what kind of men they are, and I use that term loosely. I strive hard to live up to the great name of my grandfather and sometimes I might have fallen short in my career but I would never come out here and drag it through the mud the way the my cousins did here today by even admitting they are a part of the Welch family tree. Well let me tell you something Steve Stack, I plan on pruning that tree real well this Sunday and there are going to be a lot more FORMER wrestlers in the family when I get finished!

-Roy Lee Welch storms out of the interview area-

Steve Stack: That may have been the most intense interview I have ever been a part of, I can just feel the emotion running through Roy Lee Welch by standing next to him. I would have liked to get a word from him about his match today against Mike Masters but I can't blame him for walking off from the interview when he did. Right now we're going to head down to the ring for our second match of the day pitting the team of Mike Jackson and Tony Torres against the Japanese duo, Mr. Saito and Yoshi Seito.

Mike Jackson & Tony Torres vs. Mr. Saito and Yoshi Seito

Yoshi Seito starts the match against Mike Jackson and gets surprised by his quickness a few times and gets flustered and tags out to Mr. Saito. Saito comes in full of confidence promising to show his pupil how it's done only to also get surprised by Jackson's quickness and arm dragged and caught in an arm bar. Jackson tags out to Torres who comes in and takes over the arm bar but it's short lived as Saito breaks out of the hold with a chop right to Torres' throat and then he gets Torres in his corner where he and Yoshi Seito do a number on him with double teaming and tagging in and out. Seito misses on a dropkick and Torres is able to crawl to his corner but just as he's about to make the tag, Mr. Saito rushes in and distracts the referee which causes him to miss the tag! While Mike Jackson and referee Jack Howe are arguing over the tag, Mr. Saito dumps Torres on his head and covers him and Jack Howe counts the pin, despite Mr. Saito not being the legal man.

Steve Stack: That was a somewhat dubious win by the Japanese team of Mr. Saito and his pupil Yoshi Seito! They'll be in action this Sunday night in a rematch against Ken Lucas and Eddie Gilbert and the winners of that match will be the number one contenders to the AWA Southwest Tag Team Titles held by The Fabulous Ones! And speaking of The Fabulous Ones we're going to talk to them when we come back from this time out for our sponsors so I KNOW that you aren't going to want to touch that dial! Don't go way we'll be right back!

-Fourth commercial break-

8dZniDV.jpg?1

Steve Stack: Welcome back here on Southwest Championship Wrestling! With me now are the reigning Southwest Tag Team Champions, Stan Lane and Steve Keirn: The Fabulous Ones! Last week we heard from Robert Fuller and Jimmy Golden that you had lost your AWA National Tag Team Titles while defending them against The Heavenly Bodies team of Bobby Eaton and Tom Prichard while in Birmingham, Alabama. It seems that was actually true as you're out here this week without those belts.

Stan Lane: Unfortunately it is true Steve Stack, we were robbed of our belts while defending them in Alabama thanks to The Heavenly Bodies manager Jim Cornette, his tennis racket and one of the most clueless referees I've ever seen. We're working on trying to get The Heavenly Bodies to come here to San Antonio and defend those titles on our turf but of course their manager is doing everything he can to block that so we'll just have to see how things go. We may just have to go back to Alabama and take the belts from them their but we'd like for the fans here in the area to be able to see us do it in person.

Steve Stack: It seems you're running into quite a lot of problems with teams from the Southeastern area with The Heavenly Bodies there and Robert Fuller and Jimmy Golden here.

Steve Keirn: You know when we signed to face Roy Lee Welch and Robert Fuller a few weeks ago we thought it was just going to be a match where we could actually trust our opponents to just wrestle us and not have to worry about chains, chairs or outside interference. But when Jimmy Golden came out for the match we suspected something wasn't right but we let them lure us into a false sense of security and we almost paid for it once they showed their true colors and started using that chain. And then last week they pulled the same thing and once again it was Roy Lee Welch who got us out of a jam and so this week we thought it was only right that we return the favor. We're not really much for getting involved in other people's family disputes but since Robert Fuller and Jimmy Golden got us involved in it on their own we figured we might as well help Roy finish the fight.

Steve Stack: I know that six man tag is certainly going to be a wild one with the tensions running as high as they are, I'm not sure I've ever been around an issue quite as heated as this one between The Fullers, Jimmy Golden and Roy Lee Welch.

Stan Lane: We heard everything that was said out here about it earlier and we obviously believe Roy Lee Welch's side of the story. We had a few problems with Roy when he first came into the area and he was teamed up with Eddy Mansfield but since then he's shown himself to be a stand up guy and this Sunday we're going to be right there at his side to help him send his cousins back to Alabama where they belong.

Steve Stack: I try to stay impartial and not openly root for any competitors in a match but this time I'll say I'm solidly behind you two and Roy Lee Welch and hope you're victorious this Sunday night.

Steve Keirn: Well thank you Steve that's certainly what we intend to do.

-The Fabulous Ones leave the interview area and Jim Duggan comes out

QaIurF9.gif?1

Steve Stack: And now let me bring in the man who will finally receive the Southwest Heavyweight Title match he's been after for months, the 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan! Jim congratulations on finally getting your title match, I know it's been a long time coming for you.

Jim Duggan: You've got that right Steve Stack, it feels like an eternity that I've been chasing after Tully Blanchard. I heard Stanley Blackburn was going to give El Gran Apollo a deserved rematch due to the way he was attacked before last week's match but since he was unable to wrestle this week I got the match instead. And once I beat Tully for the Southwest Heavyweight Title on Sunday night I promise I'll give that kid his rematch for the Southwest Heavyweight Title and without trying to cheat him or ramming his head into a ring post like Tully Blancchard.

Steve Stack: I know Tully Blanchard and if there is anything I'm sure of it's that he has some kind of trick up his sleeve to try and cheat YOU this week and do anything it takes to keep that title around his waist. Are you prepared for any surprises that Tully may pull out of his hat this Sunday night?

Jim Duggan: It seems like I've been doing nothing but dealing with surprises lately Steve Stack to being attacked by a fake photographer to having my partners turn on me for money I'm not sure what's left that could happen to me that hasn't happened already. But I'm going to be ready for whatever Tully is scheming this Sunday because I know that I probably only have one chance to take that belt from him and I'm going to make it count!

Steve Stack: Well Jim I'd like to ask you some more questions about your match with Tully and also get your opinion on the Lights Out match between Ron Starr and Abdullah the Butcher but we're running out of time in this segment and I still need to talk to your opponent this Sunday night so I'll just thank you for coming out here!

Jim Duggan: I'll just tell you I have faith that Ron Starr is going to be able to handle that big fat Abdullah the Butcher and promise you next week I'm going to be out here with a nice shiny Southwest Heavyweight Title on my shoulder!

-Jim Duggan leaves the interview area and Tully Blanchard comes in

HjRidln.jpg?1

Steve Stack: Now before we have to take our next break, Tully I wanted to get a quick word from you about your title defense this Sunday night against 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan.

Tully: Why is it that the Southwest Heavyweight Champion only has time for a quick word? You let The Fullers and Roy Lee Welch come out here and eat up what felt like a half hour between the bunch of them telling their whole family history and I only get a minute or two? What kind of ridiculousness is that? I'm the champion, I'm the most important man in this area, I'm the Texas Dynasty why are you wasting all this time out here on those Alabama hillbillies?

Steve Stack: Well Tully I'm sorry that your interview time got cut short but spending your time complaining about how you don't have any time isn't exactly going to make the situation any better.

Tully: Don't you get smart with me Steve Stack! You tell me why this loser Jim Duggan even has a shot at my Southwest Heavyweight Title? He lost 2 weeks in a row to The Zambuie Express and last week at the HemisFair Arena he didn't even have a match, he and Ron Starr just beat up The Zambuies and stole their money! Now I've got no love for Sheik Adnan but stealing a man's money is about as low as you can go and THAT'S who Stanley Blackburn thinks is worthy of getting a shot at my title?

Steve Stack: Certainly we know you'd never stoop to stealing anything Tully, not like you've ever stolen a win or a title.

Tully: I just told you not to get smart with me Steve Stack! You keep pressing your luck and I'll put you out to pasture like I did David Von Erich who is still stumbling around on his daddy's farm trying to remember that floozy's name who has to spoon feed him his meals! I'm the Southwest Heavyweight Champion, I deserve far more respect than you are showing me and -

Steve Stack: Tully I'm sorry but you're out of time! We have to take a time out for our last commercial break of the day and when we come back we'll have our main event of Roy Lee Welch defending the Southwest TV Title against Mike Masters.

Tully: How dare you cut me off! You tell the producer to go long! You tell them to buy more time! I'm the Texas Dynasty and

-Fifth and final commercial break-

Steve Stack: I'd like to apologize to Tully Blanchard for cutting him off at the end of that last segment but I did try and warn him that we were running short on time on today's program. Now without any further ado let's send it down to the ring for today's main event, Roy Lee Welch defending the Southwest Television Title against Mike Masters!

Mike Masters w/Jim Holliday vs. Roy Lee Welch - Southwest Television Title Match

Mike Masters splits from his usual stalling tactics and immediately attacks Roy Lee Welch at the bell! He's all over the champion, just pounding and kicking at him and then picks him up and drops him with a big bodyslam but misses on a follow up elbow drop! Welch gets up and he and Masters exchange punches until Masters rakes the eyes and then tosses Welch into the corner and starts driving into Welch's midsection with his shoulder. Masters whips Welch across the ring to the other corner and charges in after him but Welch bounces off the second turnbuckle and comes around with a crossbody that catches Masters and almost gets a count of 3 but Masters is able to get the shoulder up just in the nick of time. Masters rolls outside the ring and has a quick strategy session with his manager 'Gentleman' Jim Holliday and then gets back into the ring and wants a handshake from Roy Lee Welch. Welch wants no part of that however and Masters tries to cheapshot Welch as he turns to the crowd warning him not to shake Masters' hand but Welch catches him coming in with a drop toehold and then starts to set him up for his finishing maneuver, the Spinning Toehold but Masters is able to kick Welch off and roll back outside for another talk with Holliday. While Masters is out on the floor, suddenly The Fullers and Jimmy Golden hit the ring and attack Roy Lee Welch! Referee Carl Fergie calls for the bell and Roy Lee Welch is declared the winner by disqualification!

Mike Masters looks ready to jump in the ring and attack The Fullers and Golden for getting him disqualified but Jim Holliday stops him and convinces him it's not worth the fight. Robert Fuller looks to be setting up the Fuller Leglock on Roy when suddenly The Fabulous Ones hit the ring and put a stop to it! A huge brawl breaks out between the two teams in Sunday's six man tag as the show is going off the air!

Steve Stack: It's pandemonium here in The Junction! We've got an all out war going on in the ring but we're all out of time! Be sure to get your tickets for this Sunday night's huge night of action at The HemisFair Arena! Ron Fuller, Robert Fuller and Jimmy Golden against The Fabulous Ones and Roy Lee Welch in a six man tag team match, Jim Duggan facing Tully Blanchard with the Southwest Title on the line, Ron Starr battling Abdullah the Butcher in a Light's Out match and much much more! Great show with lots of quality interviews and angles. I must admit I miss David VonErich as a heel.

Love the use of Stanly Blackborn and The Lothario claims.

Great Intro with Adnan causing havoc with the legal issues.

Love the TN Stud and the family feud.

The Fab Ones seem to be a bit out of it but I am sure they will rebound.

I'm glad you liked the stuff with The Fullers and Roy Lee Welch this week. Personally I feel like the promos from all of those guys this week with the disputed family history is the best stuff I've written so far which I'm actually conflicted on because it feels wrong to give my 3rd or 4th top babyface better material than my #1 and #2 acts in The Fabs and Jim Duggan.

But then again, everything runs in cycles and I'm trying not to burn out my top acts by featuring them too heavily each and every week so a week or 2 here and there where they take a bit of a back seat isn't all that bad especially in a weekly territory where you're running the same arenas every single week. I've definitely seen a few times in Memphis where Jerry Lawler had a real weak opponent for the Mid-South Coliseum while something else was getting more of the focus at the top of the card and if it worked for Jerry Jarrett I guess it should work for me.

This was definitely one of those weeks though with The Fabs, Duggan and Tully getting put in the backseat so Ron Starr, Abdullah the Butcher, Roy Lee Welch and The Stud Stable could ride up front.

Southwest Championship Wrestling @ San Antonio, TX - The HemisFair Arena 11/13/83

Yin & Yang vs. Mike Jackson & Tony Torres - Yang started this match against Mike Jackson and the two of them put on a chain wrestling clinic on the mat leading to a bit of a stalemate. They shook hands and went down to the mat again while Yin got more and more animated about wanting to be tagged in. Yang & Jackson reached another stale mate in their chain wrestling and Yin reached in and tagged Yang on the back and rushed in and blasted Mike Jackson with a big right hand. Yang spun him around and started arguing with him and then Jackson spun Yin back around and blasted him with a punch of his own and put Yin into a headlock. Jackson tagged Torres in and the two of them switched places in the headlock but Yin was able to break out of it shortly after that. Yin ran the ropes and Yang tagged him on the back as he came off of them and came back in which caused another argument between Yin & Yang. Torres rolled Yang up from behind during the argument but Yin broke up the pin with a kick to his head and then left the ring. Yang allowed Torres to get back up and recover from the kick to the head, all the while staring over at Yin in his corner. Yang and Torres started to wrestle with Yang this time able to establish a clear advantage over the rookie competitor. Yang eventually got Torres caught in a Boston Crab and Torres was slowly crawling towards the ropes, close to the corner of Yin & Yang. Yin was able to reach in and tag the back of Yang and then quickly climbed the top rope and nailed his Flying Heabutt on Tony Torres while he was still caught in the Boston Crab and then pinned him for the victory.

Winners: Yin & Yang in 7:52 after a Flying Heabutt from Yin on Tony Torres

Yang took exception to the way Yin tagged himself in and hit the Flying Heabutt on Torres while he was in Yang's Boston Crab. Yin just shoved him away and left the ring and walked back to the locker room on his own.

Art Crews vs. Timothy Flowers w/Jim Holliday - Timothy Flowers comes out with a whole new look, with a fancy ring jacket and tons of jewelry on. And took a very long time taking off his jacket and jewelry, getting Art Crews more and more frustrated at the delay. Flowers kept using stalling tactics even after the match started and ended up outside of the ring with Art Crews chasing him only to beat Crews back in the ring and then attack him as he came in under the ropes. Flowers stayed in control for a bit until Crews made a comeback and hit Timothy Flowers with a big powerslam coming off the ropes. Jim Holliday distracted the referee from making the count by jumping up onto the apron however and when Art Crews went over to grab Holliday he got rolled up from behind by Timothy Flowers, with a hand full of tights, and pinned for the 3 count. Flowers quickly bailed out of the ring after the match was over and he and Jim Holliday taunted Art Crews from the aisle.

Winner: Timothy Flowers in 8:12 with a roll up after distraction from 'Gentleman' Jim Holliday

Man Mountain Link & Tiny Anderson vs. Bruiser Costa & Terry Adonis - Man Mountain Link started the match for his team and neither Bruiser Costa or Terry Adonis could go anything going against him. After a few minutes of them bumping and stooging for Link, Link tossed Adonis into the corner and hit a big avalanche splash on him and then tagged out to Tiny Anderson. Anderson tried to pin Adonis after Link's avalanche but Adonis was able to get his foot on the ropes. Tiny tried maintain control of the match but quickly found himself in Adonis & Costa's corner getting double teamed as they did every dirty trick in the book to keep him away from his corner so that the big Link couldn't get back in the ring. After working over Tiny for a while, Bruiser Costa tried to hit his big running senton and put Anderson away but Tiny was able to roll out of the way at the last second and made it to his corner for a tag! Costa and Adonis both rushed at Man Mountain Link and started pounding on him but none of their shots even seemed to register and he grabbed their heads and slammed them together! Link then scooped up Costa and nailed his big Falling Powerslam and pinned him and got the win for his team.

Winners: Man Mountain Link & Tiny Anderson in 7:01 after a Falling Powerslam on Bruiser Costa from Man Mountain Link

Mike Masters w/Jim Holliday vs. Steve Pardee - Mike Masters broke from his usual stalling and preening tactics and immediately jumped Steve Pardee as he entered the ring. Masters got Pardee in between the top and 2nd rope and started choking him and wen the referee got him off, Jim Holliday took a cheap shot at Steve Pardee that got the crowd calling for his head. Masters stayed on top of Steve Pardee and just pounded on him for a few minutes, never letting up on Pardee but not being able to put him away for a 3 count. Masters then went for a belly to back suplex but Pardee was able to shift his weight and turn it into a Bulldog! Pardee then made a delayed cover but Jim Holliday put Mike Masters' foot on the ropes with the referee was counting his shoulders. Pardee went to grab Holliday through the ropes but Holliday jumped backwards to avoid his grasp and started taunting Pardee and the two of them had a war of words long enough for Masters to recover and grab Pardee from behind, pull him into the center of the ring and put him in the Full Nelson. Pardee fought valiantly trying to escape the hold or make the ropes but Masters keeps it clamped on and eventually Pardee quits fighting and after having his arm raised and it falling 3 times, Mike Masters is declared the winner.

Winner: Mike Masters in 9:32 with the Full Nelson

Winners receive a Southwest Tag Team Title shot: Mr. Saito & Yoshi Seito vs. Ken Lucas & Eddie Gilbert - Yoshi Seito and Eddie Gilbert started the match against each other with Yoshi Seito luring Gilbert into his corner where Saito held Gilbert's trunks and Saito went for a big chop to Gilbert's head only for Gilbert to move and the chop to hit Saito. Saito and Seito argued in the corner and Gilbert then rammed their heads together. Mr. Saito demanded that Seito tag him in and Saito came in and got in Eddie Gilbert's face and started jawing with him. Saito swung at Gilbert but Gilbert ducked it and came back with a big punch that staggered Saito and then Gilbert grabbed Saito into a headlock but Saito quickly picked him up and dumped him on his head with a big belly to back suplex. Saito started stomping on Gilbert and chopping him in the throat while Gilbert was down which cause the referee to admonish him so Seito started choking Gilbert behind the referee's back while he was busy reading Saito the riot act. Ken Lucas tried to come to his partner's aid which only caused him to get double teamed as the referee had his back to the Japanese team while he was busy getting Ken Lucas out of the ring. Mr. Saito and Yoshi Seito isolated Eddie Gilbert in their half of the ring and worked him over but were unable to put him away for count of 3. Mr. Saito went for a back body drop on Gilbert, but Gilbert was able to leap frog over him and make a leaping tag to Ken Lucas in the corner! Things broke down after the tag as all 4 men wound up in the ring and Ken Lucas managed to lock his Sleeper in on Mr. Saito! The referee was focused on trying to get Eddie Gilbert and Yoshi Seito out of the ring however so Mr. Saito was able to break out of the sleeper by kicking his leg backwards right into the groin of Ken Lucas. Saito then grabbed Lucas and dropped him on his head with the Saito Suplex and covered him and the referee finally turned back around and made the count of 3.

Winners: Mr. Saito and Yoshi Seito in 11:25 after a Saito Suplex on Ken Lucas

Southwest Heavyweight Title:Jim Duggan vs. Tully Blanchard - As soon as the bell rang, Tully Blanchard threw powder into the eyes of Jim Duggan and got himself disqualified!

Winner: Jim Duggan by DQ in :01 after Tully threw powder in his eyes

Duggan was blinded and swinging wild punches trying to get at Tully while Tully kept weaving in and out of his grasp and peppering Duggan with jabs while mocking him and the crowd who were booing him like crazy. Finally Duggan was able to grab hold of Tully's hand after one of Tully's punches and blasted Tully with a big haymaker that sent Tully flying over the ropes. Duggan started wiping at his eyes to clear his vision as Tully ran over to grab his Southwest Heavyweight Title. Duggan tried to go out of the ring after Tully but Tully was too quick for him and was already half way up the aisle by the time Duggan got out of the ring. The crowd continued to boo and were livid at the result of the match and the fact that a match really didn't even take place.

The Fabulous Ones & Roy Lee Welch vs. Ron Fuller, Robert Fuller & Jimmy Golden - This match started really wild with all 6 men brawling in and around the ring until after a few minutes it finally settled down to Robert Fuller against Steve Keirn. Keirn got the best of Robert in a brawl which caused Robert to call for Keirn to tag out to Roy Lee Welch. The crowd liked that idea so Keirn tagged Welch into the match and then Ron Fuller begged his brother to tag him in too, which he did. Ron Fuller came in and squared off with Roy Lee Welch and mocked the height different with Ron Fuller towering over Roy Lee Welch by nearly a foot in height. Ron got down on his knees to mock Welch some more which caused Welch to drop kick him right in the face! The Tennessee Stud fell backwards and Welch climbed on top of him and just started pounding away on him with punches! Robert Fuller and Jimmy Golden ran in and started pounding on him which caused The Fabs to run in to help him but the referee blocked them from getting in the ring which allowed The Fullers and Golden to triple team on Welch. By the time the referee turned back around, Welch was caught in their corner and they were just wearing him out. They took turns tagging in and out and working him over, when they weren't double and triple teaming him, and eventually Robert wound up in the ring with him and set him up for the Fuller Leglock. Suddenly, Roy was able to step around the other way and reverse it into his own Fuller Leglock! Ron Fuller quickly ran in and booted Roy in the head to break it up however and then Roy and Robert both started to crawl to their corners to try and make a tag. They made it to their corners at the same time and Jimmy Golden and Stan Lane both came in and started brawling in the center of the ring with Stan ending up the winner of the fight by putting Jimmy Golden down with a karate kick. Golden tried to crawl to the corner but went the wrong way and found himself trying to make a tag to Steve Keirn who nailed him with a big right hand followed up with one from Roy Lee Welch and Golden stumbled back around to get one from Stan Lane as well. The Fullers tried to run into the ring and help him but the referee cut them off which allowed The Fabs and Roy Lee Welch to just start beating the crap out of Jimmy Golden in their corner. The referee finally turned around and started breaking it up as he caught Roy Lee Welch choking his cousin with the tag rope and Golden just about used that moment to crawl to his corner but got cut off by Steve Keirn who tagged himself in.

Keirn sent Golden into the ropes and bounced off the other side for the Flying Forearm but Ron Fuller pulled the top rope down and instead Keirn went flying out to the arena floor. The referee didn't see it but suspected what happened and threatened to disqualify them while Ron Fuller proclaimed his innocence. Robert Fuller got off the apron and went to attack Keirn on the outside but Stan Lane ran around and chased him off. Stan helped Keirn back into the ring only for Keirn to get stomped on by Ron Fuller who tagged in while Keirn was on the outside. Ron got Steve Keirn into his corner and Robert Fuller and Jimmy Golden started beating the crap out of him while Ron got the referee's attention and then Stan Lane tried to rush in and help Keirn which got the referee's attention on him and allowed Ron to join in and turn it into a triple team beat down on Steve Keirn. Keirn started to mount a comeback and started to fight all three of them off only to get cut off just as it looked like he was about to escape their corner. The beating on Keirn continued for a bit and then Jimmy Golden came in and put Keirn's head between his legs and motioned for a piledriver. Jimmy spent a lot of time bragging about how he was going break Keirn's neck however and Keirn wiggled free and crawled between Jimmy's legs to make a leaping tag to Roy Lee Welch! Things immediately broke down as all 6 men wound up in the ring fighting until eventually The Fabs found themselves outside of the ring battling The Fullers with the legal men, Welch and Golden, still in the ring. Golden was able to use the ref's distraction to his advantage and rake Welch's eyes and set him up for a piledriver but Welch took Golden's legs out from under him and then got him in the Spinning Toe Hold! Welch wrenched on it as Golden screamed for help from his cousins but The Fabs kept them from coming back into the ring to help him and finally Jimmy Golden had no choice but to submit! The crowd went wild as Roy Lee Welch had his hand raised and was declared the winner!

Winners: Roy Lee Welch and The Fabulous Ones in 17:52 after Roy made Jimmy Golden submit to the Spinning Toehold

The Fabulous Ones got their Southwest Tag Team Titles from ringside and also the TV Title which they handed to Roy Lee Welch and the three of them celebrated in the ring to the delight of the crowd while Jimmy Golden laid on the mat and screamed about his leg. Ron and Robert pulled Jimmy Golden out of the ring and helped him back to the locker room as he screamed about his leg being broken while the celebration continued in the ring

Unsanctioned by the AWA Lights Out Match: Ron Starr vs. Abdullah the Butcher - This never even had the semblance of a wrestling match and was nothing but a wild fight. Ron Starr attacked the Butcher in the aisle as he made his way to the ring and the two of them ended up fighting up and down the entrance way, around the ringside area and even into the crowd. Both men hit each other with chairs, slammed the other one's head into the guard rail, the ring apron, and the ring steps. After only a few short minutes of action both men were bloodied and battered but Abdullah the Butcher was able to take control as he pulled out a fork and stabbed it into the head of Ron Starr as Starr was climbing over the guard rail to get back into the ringside area after Abdullah. Abdullah started carving into Ron Starr's head with the fork as the crowd in the HemisFair Arena wildly cheered Ron Starr to make a comeback. Abdullah had Starr down on the floor of the HemisFair Arena and looked to drop a big elbow on the midsection of 'Rugged' Ron Starr, targeting the previously injured ribs but Starr rolled out of the way and Abdullah landed with a hard thud on the concrete floor! Starr picked up the dropped fork off the floor and jammed it into Abby's head as he started to get back up! Starr started carving it into Abdullah the Butcher's forehead! Abby managed to get Starr off of him for a moment with a shot to the throat and then started to retreat to the locker room! Starr chased after him and the two men started to battle in the aisle again! The two of them crashed thru a section of the guard rail and were rolling around pounding on each other when the locker room emptied and almost the whole roster came out to pull them apart! Abdullah the Butcher took the chance he was given to escape and ran back to the locker room while everyone had to restrain Ron Starr from chasing after him!

Result: No contest

Ron Starr kept calling for Abdullah to come back but Abdullah disappeared behind the curtain into the locker room and didn't come back out so Jim Duggan raised Ron Starr's hand and pointed to him like he was the winner while the crowd went wild.

Very interesting card with well developed angles. . Again, I enjoy the family angle of Fuller/Welch. I actually find myself rooting for Mr. Saito as I read your events. Just think he was awesome as a heel.

Not sure if I would be very happy with the :01 second match with Tully and Duggan. That would have been the match I was talking about all week and then I never got to really see it.

The non-match between Tully & Duggan was a risky move and I knew that going in which is why I really didn't focus on hyping that match very much on the TV and put it 3rd from the top so I had 2 more matches to try and get the crowd to forget about it and leave on a positive note. It DOES fit Tully's character though and he's essentially been trying to avoid the one on one Duggan match ever since he showed up.

Taped at The Junction in San Antonio, TX on 11/14

Southwest Championship Wrestling airing on Saturday 11/19 in local markets

-Show intro-

steverstack1_zps2225fa25.jpg

Steve Stack: Welcome to another edition of Southwest Championship Wrestling, the most exciting hour in all of professional wrestling! We've got another action packed in store for you this week like we do every week but before we get to any action I'd like to run down some of the events from last Sunday night at the HemisFair Arena. We saw Mr. Saito & Yoshi Seito defeat the team of Ken Lucas and Eddie Gilbert which means this Sunday night, Saito & Seito will get a Southwest Tag Team Title shot against the champions, The Fabulous Ones. In other action we saw Jim Duggan defeat Tully Blanchard but not become the Southwest Heavyweight Champion as it was only by disqualification as Tully threw powder into Duggan's eyes the very moment that the bell rang to start the match. This has caused AWA President Stanley Blackburn to order a rematch where Tully will LOSE the Southwest Heavyweight Title if he is disqualified again. We also saw Roy Lee Welch get a measure of revenge against his family when he made Jimmy Golden submit to the Spinning Toe Hold and apparently he's sent Jimmy Golden, Ron & Robert Fuller all back to Alabama as they haven't been seen here in the area since Sunday night and aren't scheduled here on today's program. And in the non-sanctioned Lights Out match we saw an incredibly brutal, bloody brawl between Ron Starr and Abdullah the Butcher end without a clear winner but with the Butcher being the one who retreated from the fight which has sent Ron Starr chasing the globe after him! Ron Starr heard that Abdullah the Butcher was scheduled for some matches this week in Puerto Rico and last we heard he booked his own flight down to Puerto Rico to chase after the big mad man from the Sudan so we don't know when he'll be back in the area.

Now for today's program we've got the Southwest Tag Team Champions, The Fabulous Ones in action, we'll be seeing the debut of a man from Hollywood, California by the name of Goldie Rogers and we'll also see a rematch for the Southwest Television Title between Mike Masters and the champion, Roy Lee Welch plus we'll be hearing from 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan, Tully Blanchard and more so don't go away, you won't want to miss a minute of it!

-First commercial break-

8dZniDV.jpg?1

Steve Stack: We're back on Southwest Championship Wrestling and with me now are the Southwest Tag Team Champions, Stan Lane and Steve Keirn: The Fabulous Ones! First of all let me congratulate you on your victory in the six man tag match from last Sunday night and on helping to run The Fullers and Jimmy Golden out of the area.

Steve Keirn: We're happy to see them gone from Texas but we may run into them again real soon because we've not had any luck getting a match signed with The Heavenly Bodies coming here to the Southwest area to defend the National Tag Team Titles so we might have to take another trip to Alabama real soon to get those belts back.

Steve Stack: I know you guys are focused on getting those National Tag Team Titles back from The Heavenly Bodies and also on getting a match with the AWA World Tag Team Champions, The Road Warriors, but you've got a very formidable team in front of you this Sunday night at The HemisFair Arena as you're set to face off against the Japanese team of Mr. Saito and Yoshi Seito.

Stan Lane: We've had a few run ins with those two in the past but this is the first time we'll be facing them in a straight up tag team match but we're confident we can get the job done. We know they've got a talent for sneaking out a win, just like we saw them do on TV here last week, but we're going to be ready for any tricks they try to pull and we're confident we're going to come out with our title belts still intact.

Steve Stack: Well before you guys go down to the ring for your non title match today I'd like to ask you about a team that's headed back to the area now as The Assassins are scheduled for action this Sunday night at The HemisFair Arena. The last time we saw The Assassins was almost 3 months ago and they promised a day of reckoning when they returned to the area. Are you at all concerned about them coming back to Southwest Championship Wrestling?
Steve Keirn: What is there to be concerned about Steve Stack? We beat The Assassins the last time they were here and if they earn themselves a title shot we'll beat them again this time. Sure they are a tough team but they're not The Fabs and if we have to fight them again we'll be happy to prove it to them.

-The Fabulous Ones head down to the ring for their non-title match against The Canadian and Mike Fever

Steve Stack: I have a feeling they're going to have the chance to do just that because I know The Assassins are going to be looking to take those Southwest Tag Team Titles upon their return. But now let's head down to the ring for our first match of the day as The Fabulous Ones take on The Canadian and Mike Fever in a non-title match!

Mike Fever & The Canadian vs. The Fabulous Ones

The Canadian made it look like Mike Fever was going to start the match but then grabbed Fever and threw him out of the ring and attacked Stan Lane! The Canadian just beat the crap out of Stan Lane in the corner and totally ignored the referee as he tried to get a break so the match was almost immediately thrown out as The Canadian and Mike Fever were disqualified

Steve Keirn tried to come in and help his partner when suddenly a large man in a hat and sunglasses came from out of the crowd and pulled Keirn out of the ring by his legs and then slammed him shoulder first into the ring post! The large man turned his back to the camera to shield his face while he took off the hat and sunglasses and donned a mask...the yellow mask of The Assassin! He ran into the ring and helped The Canadian just as Stan Lane started to fight back. The Assassin held Stan Lane from behind with The Canadian loaded up his boot and then blasted Stan Lane with a big loaded boot to the face. The Canadian then took off his red & white mask to reveal a yellow mask underneath! Steven Keirn tried to come back into the ring and fight them off of Stan Lane but his shoulder was hurt and he was only fighting with one arm so he was quickly neutralized and then Assassin #1 held him down by his legs while Assassin #2 kicked and stomped on his injured shoulder with the loaded boot. Finally Ken Lucas, Eddie Gilbert, Mike Jackson, Tony Torres and Jim Duggan ran out to the ring and chased off The Assassins to end their attack.

Steve Stack: I can't believe what we just saw! The Assassin must have bought a ticket and hid in the crowd as a normal fan and no one would be able to recognize him at all because he's never been seen without his mask on! We couldn't even get a good look at his face with that hat and the sunglasses we still don't know what he looks like. And now that I think about it, The Canadian must have been Assassin #2 this whole time, they wrestle almost the exact same style and The Canadian only reappeared in the area after The Assassin said he was heading to Alabama to collect a bounty. Fans we've got to take a break, we're going to try and get some help out here for Steve Keirn during the break...we'll be back don't go away!

-Second commercial break-

X4IlKZh.jpg?1

Steve Stack: We're back on Southwest Championship Wrestling and with me now is the man who was just responsible for that vicious attack on The Fabulous Ones, The Assassin. Assassin, what in the world was that!?

The Assassin: That was what I promised before I left here 3 months ago. I back up every word that ever comes out of my mouth. I promised that I was going to come back and enact my retribution for all the injustices I suffered when I arrived here in Texas. And today was the beginning. But just the beginning Steve Stack. Beating up the Fabulous Ones and embarrassing them on TV is not nearly enough, my partner and I WILL take those Southwest Tag Team Titles away from them and if we don't run them out of professional wrestling all together we will run them out of Southwest Championship Wrestling that is a PROMISE.

-The Assassin leaves the interview area and Mr. Saito and Yoshi Seito come in laughing

Mh6Eyz2.jpg?1yLLfsIq.jpg?1

Steve Stack: Well obviously you're in a good mood today Mr. Saito, I guess you think what just happened to The Fabulous Ones is funny?

Mr. Saito: Of course it funny Steve Stack! You see Steve Keirn crying and holding on his shoulder? Assassin talk about taking the titles from The Fabulous Ones but he don't have time. This Sunday Saito and Seito take the belt from the pretty boy.

Steve Stack: Don't count out The Fabulous Ones, Steve Keirn may have injured his shoulder but we've seen The Fabulous Ones fight through the odds before and win when no one expected them to.

Mr. Saito: They don't scare me Steve Stack! They don't have Sunshine purse to hit me with what can they do to beat the number 1 wrestler in all the world? Mr. Saito number 1 in wrestling, number 1 in judo, number 1 in karate and after Sunday I be the new Southwest Tag Team Champion too hahaha.

-Mr. Saito and Yoshi Seito leave the interview area and El Gran Apollo comes in

F9leReL.jpg

Steve Stack: El Gran Apollo it's good to see you back this week after you were held out of action last week due to the attack by The Cuban Assassin and the amount of blood you lost during the match with Tully Blanchard. How are you feeling this week?

Apollo: I feel good Steve Stack but I'm not happy. I heard they don't let Cuban Assassin wrestle here and I want to fight him. I want make him pay for what he did to me. Yo quiero luchar con el Cuban Assassin y no me importa si no el pagar los multas. Dame una lucha con el Cuban Assassin con el para que yo pueda tener mi venganza.

-El Gran Apollo leaves the interview area

Steve Stack: Well I don't know everything that he just said but I'm pretty sure he just said he wants Stanley Blackburn to give him a match with The Cuban Assassin. I don't think that is going to happen until Jose Lothario pays that $2500 fine however. Jose was out here last week crying he doesn't have the money to pay it, maybe my next guest could pay it for him as he's come into a lot of money lately after taking a briefcase full of Sheik Adnan's money, let me bring in now 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan!

-'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan comes into the interview area

JjawfbU.jpg?1

Duggan: You know I don't think that's going to happen Steve Stack, I'd rather not help out a guy like Jose Lothario with that money.

Steve Stack: I had a feeling you might say that. Jokes aside, I know you've been in a bad mood all week due to what happened in your match, if you could call it that, with Tully Blanchard last Sunday night at The HemisFair Arena. But you've got to at least feel a little bit better about it now that Stanley Blackburn has given you a rematch and this time if Tully is disqualified he will lose the Southwest Heavyweight Title.

Duggan: It does but I still feel bad for all my fans who came out last week to see me beat Tully Blanchard only to have him throw powder in my eyes the moment the bell ring so he could get disqualified and run away. But this week, I'm gonna make it up to all of them because with Tully not being able to get himself disqualified to keep his belt he's going to have to actually fight me. And I know there isn't anyone in the world, including Tully Blanchard himself, who thinks that Tully can beat me in a fight. So Tully, you shine that belt up real nice and enjoy the extra week you managed to get with it because this Sunday night it's going to be MINE!

-Duggan leaves the interview area

Steve Stack: I know Tully has got to be fuming about that stipulation and we'll find out as we talk to him later in the hour. But right now we've got to take another commercial break but don't go away because when we come back we're going to be talking to the newest arrival in Southwest Championship Wrestling, a man by the name of Goldie Rogers from Hollywood, California and we'll also see him in action when he takes on Jimmy Doo so don't go away!

-Third commercial break-

7R2p4cF.jpg?1

Steve Stack: Welcome back to Southwest Championship Wrestling! Standing with me now is Goldie Rogers who has made his way here from Hollywood, California. Goldie, welcome to Southwest Championship Wrestling.

Goldie Rogers: Listen up Jack! I heard this area had a lot of women coming out to the matches to see some duds like The Fabulous Ones and that guy who couldn't even speak English out here earlier, El Gran Apollo so I thought I'd come down here to Texas and give them a stud. I'm the king of Hollywood, I walk down the street and I stop traffic with girls stopping in the middle of the road just to try and get a glimpse of the most handsome man in professional wrestling.

Steve Stack: That sounds a bit far fetched to me.

Goldie Rogers: What do you know about girls anyway all your romantic encounters have probably been through financial transaction! You just wait and see Jack, I'm gonna have so many women buying tickets to see me wrestle soon you won't even see a man in the audience in this area anymore.

Steve Stack: Well I guess we'll find out just how popular you are considering you're facing El Gran Apollo this week at the HemisFair Arena a man who has been known to have quite a few screaming female fans in the audience.

Goldie Rogers: What are those women going to do with a guy like that? He can't even speak English how is he gonna tell them what he wants them to get up and cook him for breakfast in the morning? I'm gonna wipe the mat with that guy and by the time I get out of the ring with him the women in this area will be calling him El Huh? because he'll be totally forgotten.

Steve Stack: That would be quite a feat Mr. Rogers I think now it's best if you head on down to the ring for your match against Jimmy Doo.

Goldie Rogers: More like Jimmy Who? that guy isn't even close to being in my league.

-Goldie Rogers leaves the interview area and heads down to the ring

Steve Stack: Well fans he certainly doesn't lack for confidence that's for sure I guess we're about to find out if he can back that up or not as he's set to take on Jimmy Doo.

Jimmy Doo vs. Goldie Rogers

Goldie Rogers spends a very long time taking off his jacket causing the crowd to get more and more frustrated with him. He finally takes it off and then offers a handshake to Jimmy Doo to start the match only to attack him when Doo goes for it. Rogers beats on him with punches and kicks and then slams Doo down to the mat and drops a big elbow on him. Rogers yells at a woman in the front row about how he can show her the time of her life which allows Jimmy Doo to get up and attack him from behind. Jimmy Doo doesn't stay on offense very long however as Goldie Rogers dodges a dropkick from Doo and then drops another big elbow on him. Goldie Rogers picks Jimmy Doo up off the mat and then finishes him off with a neckbreaker and pins him to get his first victory in Southwest Championship Wrestling.

Steve Stack: It seems like there might actually be enough ability to back up all the things Goldie Rogers just said out here earlier but he'll have a much bigger test than Jimmy Doo this Sunday night at the HemisFair Arena in the form of El Gran Apollo. We've got to take another time out for our sponsors and when we come back we've got a video update on the condition of David Von Erich and we'll also be taking to the Southwest Heavyweight Champion Tully Blanchard about his match with Jim Duggan this Sunday night so don't go away!

-Fourth commercial break-

bp8btFm.jpg?1

David Von Erich: It's been almost a month now since Tully Blanchard slammed that cage door on my head and put me out of action. After a lot of rest and recuperation here on my family's ranch and the most beautiful woman in the world at my side helping me along the way, I'm almost ready to make my return. My headaches are gone, I don't have anymore ringing in my ears and I'm sleeping through the night. So Tully let me give you a warning that I am coming your way real soon. It might be in The Junction, it might be in the HemisFair Arena, it might be in a parking lot, a grocery store, or even on your own front lawn. So you better keep eyes in the back of your head at all times because I am coming for you Tully Blanchard. I am going to make you pay not just for what you did to me, but for the way you treated Sunshine and when I DO get my hands on you I promise that you are going to get the biggest beating of your entire life. I am going to hurt you Tully and I am going to hurt you real bad. And that's not just a threat, that's a promise!

5R9RdmO.jpg?1

Steve Stack: Well Tully you just heard what David Von Erich had to say, what do you think about that video?

Tully Blanchard: I think it's nothing but a fantasy from a man with scrambled brains! He wasn't in my league when he was fully healthy, I'm the one who carried our team on my back the whole time so how is he supposed to do anything to me now that he's been permanently damaged? Let him try and come after me and I'll have him carried out on a stretcher again and slap that ugly floozy around when I'm done!

Steve Stack: That's enough! It's disgusting enough what you already did to Sunshine I'm not going to have you out here on this show talking about slapping around a woman.

Tully Blanchard: You're really stretching the definition of that word to call Sunshine a woman. But I forgot Steve Stack you always did have a big thing for Sunshine, I saw how you drooled over her every time she was out here.

Steve Stack: I think we've talked enough about Sunshine. Let's talk about your match this Sunday night when you have to defend your Southwest Heavyweight Title against Jim Duggan and this time if you're disqualified you will LOSE the Southwest Heavyweight Title.

Tully Blanchard: I didn't think it would be possible for anyone to ever make me miss Lou Thesz but now Stanley Blackburn has done it. What kind of stipulation is that? I'm the greatest Southwest Heavyweight Champion there has ever been and ever will be, how can he say that if I get disqualified I'll lose my title?

Steve Stack: I don't know Tully, maybe it has something to do with you being disqualified in two out of your last three title defenses.

Tully Blanchard: Don't get smart with me Steve Stack. I'm getting real tired of having to tell you that every week, one of these days I'm gonna shut your mouth for you if you can't shut it yourself. Jim Duggan didn't deserve a title shot against me! How did he earn that title shot? By losing to The Zambuie Express? He never even beat them, he and Ron Starr attacked them with a briefcase and ran them out of the ring! That's the kind of man that gets rewarded with a title shot around here? I should be facing REAL competition not some loser like him. That's why I threw the powder in his face last week because he didn't have any business being in the ring with me and I wasn't going to stoop to the level of fighting unworthy competition like I had to do all the time that Lou Thesz was here forcing me to wrestle losers like Scott Casey and Bob Sweetan. But the good thing is Steve Stack, what you HAVEN'T mentioned is that when I win Jim Duggan won't get anymore Southwest Heavyweight Title match while I'm the champion. Which will be until I retire by the way.

Steve Stack: So you throwing the powder had nothing to do with you being afraid to fight Jim Duggan then?

Tully: Didn't I just tell you not to get smart with me Steve Stack? I'm going to end this interview right now before I wind up getting myself fined by slapping you around.

-Tully leaves the interview area

Steve Stack: Tully might be able to run from my questions but he won't be getting away from Jim Duggan so easily this Sunday night. Now before we have to take our last commercial break of the day, let me bring out a man who has been making a lot of waves since his arrival to the area, the undefeated Man Mountain Link and his brother Tiny Anderson.

DMCx4zE.png?1FD7xy62.jpg?1
Steve Stack: Link this Sunday night you and your brother will be teaming up again to face the team of Yin & Yang but I know this isn't the match you have been trying to get over the past couple of weeks.

Man Mountain Link: That's true Steve, I've been trying to get a rematch with Mike Masters ever since he ran away from me at the HemisFair Arena 3 weeks ago but his manager Jim Holliday has done a great job in making sure that hasn't happened. But he can't run forever eventually he is going to have to get in the ring with me again and when he does I am going to make him pay for everything he did to my brother. Until that happens then Tiny and I will just keep teaming up together so we can prove to everyone including Mike Masters that my brother can be and IS a winner in this sport.

Steve Stack: I have to say you two had a very impressive victory over Bruiser Costa and Terry Adonis last Sunday even if it seemed you were the one who was more responsible for that win than Tiny.

Link: Don't sell my brother short Steve Stack! He took a beating in that match it's true but he didn't go down and he got his hand raised at the end of the match. That's all that matters. And he and I are going to do it again this Sunday against Yin & Yang. I've seen them in action the past two weeks it seems like they can barely even get along these days while me and Tiny are brothers, we've got an unbreakable bond and we're not going to be arguing and fighting with each other like they've been.

Steve Stack: It is true that Yin & Yang have had quite a few problems with each other recently as they have clashed over their very different philosophies on how to approach a wrestling match. Link, we're out of time for this interview I wish you good luck on your quest to get that rematch against Mike Masters.

Link: Thank you Steve I know that sooner rather than later he's going to have to step into the ring with me and then I'm going to squash him like the annoying bug that he is.

-Link and Tiny Anderson leave the interview area

Steve Stack: Fans we've got to take our last commercial break of the day but don't go away because when we come back we are going to have our main event Southwest Television Title match as Roy Lee Welch defends the belt against Mike Masters, you won't want to miss it!

-Fifth and final commercial break-

BaDztba.jpg?1USc9Jzd.jpg?1

Steve Stack: We're back on Southwest Championship Wrestling and before we get to our main event I wanted to get a quick word from the challenger, Mike Masters and his manager 'Gentleman' Jim Holliday. Last week we saw your match with Roy Lee Welch get interrupted by The Fullers which caused you to lose by disqualification and after the match it almost looked like you were ready to get in the ring and fight with the Fullers and Jimmy Golden. What stopped you?

Holliday: I prevailed upon Mike Masters that it makes no sense to fight other people's battles and despite costing us the opportunity last week to take the Southwest TV Title, we would certainly be granted a rematch which has proved correct. There is no need to make enemies out of those who can become your allies.

Steve Stack: Speaking of enemies, Man Mountain Link is adamant about getting a rematch with Mike Masters but it seems you've continually denied his requests for a match, why is that?

Holliday: Mike Masters is a top contender for championships here in this area, Man Mountain Link is a nobody. Mike Masters has been here proving himself for almost 5 months now while Link has barely been here 3 weeks. When he's actually proven worthy of a shot against a wrestler the caliber of Mike Masters then he will get one but not before.

Steve Stack: Well we have to cut this interview short so we can make sure we have the full 10 minutes allotted for the 10 minute time limit of the main event but I would have liked to ask you about the rematch between Art Crews and Timothy Flowers this week if we'd had more time.

Holliday: It's better that we didn't, Art Crews isn't worth being talked about, you saw how Timothy Flowers quickly dispatched him last week.

-Mike Masters and Jim Holliday head down to the ring for the main event

Steve Stack: Quickly dispatched isn't how I would term having your manager help you get a victory but nonetheless we're ready for our main event of the program so let's head down to the ring where it's about to get underway.

Mike Masters w/Jim Holliday vs. Roy Lee Welch - Southwest Television Title Match

Mike Masters tries to attack Welch at the bell just like last week but this time Welch knows it's coming and dodges out of the way of Masters' charge at him in the corner and Masters goes crashing into the turnbuckles. Welch then monkey flips him out of the corner and grabs an arm bar on him while he's down on the mat. Masters gets up and gets into the ropes to break the hold but goes for a cheap shot off the break which Welch counters into an armdrag and then puts the arm bar right back on him! Masters gets out of it with a rake to the eyes and then a bodyslam but misses on a follow up elbow drop and Welch is able to put the arm bar right back on. Masters scoops Welch up with one arm and bodyslams but Welch maintains control of the hold even through the bodyslam. Masters is able to break the hold again with the ropes and this time he wants a handshake. Welch doesn't go for it but it's enough to distract him for a moment to let Masters hit him with a knee to the midsection and then whip him into the corner. Masters goes charging into the corner after him and Welch goes for his bounce off the turnbuckles into a crossbody but Masters dodges out of the way at the last second. Masters then climbs up to the 2nd turnbuckle and comes off with a kneedrop but Welch moves out of the way and Masters lands hard on the knee on the mat. Welch starts setting him up for the Spinning Toe Hold when suddenly Robert Fuller appears at ringside and starts shouting at him. Welch stops in his tracks to look over at him and Masters takes the opportunity to grab him into a small package and steal the win and the Southwest TV Title!

Robert Fuller stands at ringside and mocks Welch for losing and Welch looks ready to come out of the ring after him when suddenly Masters gets the TV Title from Holliday and blasts Welch in the back of the head with it! Masters leaves the ring and shakes hands with Robert Fuller and then Robert Fuller trash talks Roy Lee Welch, telling him about how Robert is the National Champion and Roy is a nothing now.

Steve Stack: We've got a new Southwest Television Champion! I had no idea Robert Fuller was still here in Texas! This must have been what Jim Holliday meant when he talked about making allies out of enemies. Roy Lee Welch looks beside himself and I know he is going to be looking for revenge against his cousin Robert Fuller and also after Mike Masters to get that TV Title back. Fans we're out of time on today's program but make sure you're in The HemisFair Arena this Sunday night to see another exciting night of action as Tully Blanchard has to defend the Southwest Heavyweight Title against 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan and will lose the title if he gets disqualified, The Fabulous Ones defend the Southwest Tag Team Titles against the team of Mr. Saito and Yoshi Seito, El Gran Apollo takes on newcomer Goldie Rogers and more! Southwest Championship Wrestling @ San Antonio, TX - The HemisFair Arena 11/20/83

Mike Jackson & Tony Torres vs. The Assassins - Mike Jackson started the match against Assassin #2 and tried to put up a fight but was quickly overwhelmed by the larger man and his wild brawling tactics. He found himself in the Assassins corner being double teamed when they suddenly tossed him into the center of the ring and challenged him to tag in Tony Torres. Jackson made the tag to Tony Torres at the same time as Assassin #2 tagged in Assassin #1. The Assassin mocked the much smaller man and got caught with a surprise dropkick that sent him staggering back but he dodged the second one and then crushed Torres with a big splash while he was on the mat after the missed dropkick. He picked Torres up and body slammed him back down and then bounced off the ropes and finished Torres off with a big elbow drop.

Winners: The Assassin in 3:12 in a dominating fashion after Assassin #1 pinned Tony Torres following a big elbow drop

Art Crews vs. Timothy Flowers w/Jim Holliday - Flowers jumps Crews at the bell and works him over for a bit until missing an elbow drop at which point Crews is able to start firing back at him and take control with a headlock. Flowers tries to push Crews off but Crews holds onto Flowers' hair which the referee misses which causes Jim Holliday to become very frustrated. Flowers pushes him off again and this time the referee catches Flowers pulling the hair and makes him break the hold but Flowers is caught in a drop toe hold as he comes charging at Crews and Crews quickly puts the headlock back on while Flowers is down on the mat. Flowers works his way back to his feet and pushes Crews off into the ropes but Crews comes back with a shoulder block that puts Flowers on the mat and then bounces off the ropes again but gets tripped up by Jim Holliday on the outside which the referee misses. Crews complains to the referee about Jim Holliday tripping him which allows Flowers to pull something out of his tights and hit Crews with it and then quickly put it back in his trunks and cover Crews just as the referee is turning back around from arguing with Holliday about whether or not he tripped Art Crews. Crews is unable to kick out as he seems to have been totally knocked out by the loaded punch and Timothy Flowers is the winner.

Winner: Timothy Flowers in 8:03 after a loaded punch

Yin & Yang vs. Tiny Anderson & Man Mountain Link - Yang starts the match against Man Mountain Link and has no luck against the big man as he's unable to take him down to the mat and as soon as he tries to grab and arm or a leg to work a hold, Link just shoves him off. Yang reluctantly tags out to Yin who comes in and tries to come at Link with punches and kicks which have no real effect and then tries a dropkick that also fails to register on the big man. Finally Link gets tired of being a wall for his opponents to try to knock down and totally clobbers Yin with a big clothesline after Yin tries a shoulder tackle. As Yin is getting back to his feet he puts something in his mask and then charges at Link and drives his head into Link's midsection. Link doubles over and then Yin smashes him with a big headbutt that brings the big man to his knees but Yang alerts the referee Carl Fergie to check his own partner's mask which he does and finds the foreign object and disqualifies him!

Winners: Man Mountain Link & Tiny Anderson in 4:38 after referee Carl Fergie finds a foreign object in Yin's mask

Yin goes crazy at his own partner causing him to be disqualified and grabs him and pulls him over the ropes into the ring! Yang quickly gets up and shoves Yin who stumbles backwards into Man Mountain Link. Link spins him around and nails him with a big Falling Powerslam in revenge for Yin using a foreign object against him and then Yang leaves his partner laid out in the ring and leaves by himself.

Southwest Television Title: Roy Lee Welch vs. Mike Masters - Roy Lee Welch is fired up and charges at Mike Masters as soon as the bell rings but Masters quickly bails out through the ropes and mocks Welch from the arena floor. Masters gets the referee to back Welch away from the ropes and then tentatively re-enters the ring only to stick his head out through the ropes as Welch charges him to cause the referee to get Welch back again. Masters continues to do everything he can to avoid contact with Roy Lee Welch as Welch, the crowd and the referee all get more and more frustrated. Finally at about the 4 minute mark Welch goes after him as he's on the outside and chases him around the ring only to have Jim Holliday step in his way. Welch bowls Holliday over but it stops him in his tracks long enough for Masters to just totally level him with a huge clothesline. Masters rolls back into the ring and tries to get a countout victory but Welch makes it back in before the 10 count and Masters just stomps the daylights out of him as he rolls under the bottom rope. Masters pulls him up and bodyslams him and then picks him up and does it 3 more times in a row before dropping a big elbow on him and making the cover but Welch is able to kick out just before the count of 3. Masters continues working on Welch and then tries to get him in the Full Nelson but Welch is able to slip down out of it and roll out of the ring. Masters goes out after him but Welch immediately goes back in the ring and this time he catches Masters coming in under the bottom rope with kicks and stomps. Masters pulls Welch's legs out from under him and the two men start rolling around on the mat punching each other and suddenly the bell rings and it's announced that the 10 minute time limit has expired. Welch wants to keep fighting but Masters quickly bails out of the ring and holds up the Television Title and taunts Roy Lee Welch with it.

Result: Draw after the match goes to the 10 minute time limit for a Television Title match

Ken Lucas & Eddie Gilbert vs. Bruiser Costa & Terry Adonis - Lucas and Gilbert start out the match totally out wrestling and out maneuvering their opponents much to the frustration of Costa & Adonis. Finally after a few minutes of bumping and stooging by Costa & Adonis, Ken Lucas is the victim of a cheap shot from Terry Adonis who comes in without being tagged and hits Lucas from behind which allows Costa to blast Lucas with a clothesline and take him down. Eddie Gilbert takes exception to the cheap shot and tries to come in to help his partner but that only causes the referee to focus on getting him out of the ring which allows Costa & Adonis to double team Lucas and get him isolated in their corner. Adonis & Costa make some tags in and out while keeping in control of Lucas and then Adonis settles into a chin lock on Lucas. Lucas uses the crowd to rally to his feet and out of the hold but gets attacked by Bruiser Costa to cut him off from making the tag. Costa and Adonis work him over some more but finally Lucas is able to escape the corner and start crawling to make the tag to Eddie Gilbert after a missed senton off the 2nd rope from Bruiser Costa! Costa and Lucas make their tags at almost the exact same time and Gilbert comes in and lights up Terry Adonis with punches. Steve Keirn rushes in and starts pounding on Seito with his one good arm but the referee gets in between them and starts pushing Keirn back to the corner which allows Saito and Seito to double team Lane. Saito comes in without a tag and puts Lane in his kneeling figure four but Lane refuses to submit. Saito works the hold for a while until Lane is able to make the ropes but it's a short reprieve as Saito ends up pulling him back into the center of the ring and putting the Scorpion Deathlock on him. Keirn rushes in and blasts Saito with a kick to the face to break the hold but Seito makes an illegal switch while the ref is getting Keirn out of the ring and puts a Boston crab on Lane, following up on Saito's damage to Lane's legs.
