LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS

“Hello again everybody. Welcome to USWA WRESTLING from Little Rock, Arkansas and the Barton Coliseum. I am Jim Ross and my partner today is the Big Cat, Ernie Ladd.”

The show starts with a video of the last few minutes of the USWA World Title match between Dusty Rhodes and Terry Funk from the Cajun Dome where we see the bout end in a Double Count-out as the two are just beating the heck out of each other. After the bell was sounded, it took about 10 officials and wrestlers to get the two separated.

After the video, Terry Funk is at the interview desk carrying a branding iron where he says he is unsure which one would bring him more pleasure. Taking the World Title from the egg sucking Dusty Rhodes or permanently branding him with the tag of the Double Cross Ranch! He goes on to say that he might as well do both and for those of you who have never seen something branded before, stay tuned. You might just see it in a minute.

Funk goes to the center of the ring and rams his branding iron into the center of the ring and we see a little smoke rise and Funk’s logo etched into the center of the ring. He places the branding iron outside the ring.

MATCH:

TERRY FUNK VS SAM HOUSTON

Funk goes absolutely wild on the young Sam Houston and beats him like a dog. The finisher is when he nails not one but two Texas Piledrivers on Houston. After the pin, he goes out to get the branding iron. He begins to size up Houston and is trying to figure out the best place. He decides on the upper part of his leg but before he can finish the task, Dusty hits the ring and the two pick up right where they left off at. Again, it takes a herd of people to get them separated.

Jim Ross seems really relieved that Funk couldn’t complete the job on Houston as Ladd seems like it would have been fun to watch

------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS-----------------

As we come out of break, we see Cowboy Bill Watts at the interview desk where Watts informs us that the USWA is going to be adding a Women’s Division. He goes on to say that the fans really seemed to enjoy the battle last week between Madusa and Baby Doll and that there are a lot a really great athletic women who have been asking for the USWA to get involved in Women’s wrestling. He goes on to say that the USWA is going to kick off the women’s Division tonight with a $5000 over the top rope Battle Royal which will include all the great women’s wrestlers in the country.

Watts continues by explaining that this Battle Royal has some twists. First of all, it will stop when we reach the Final Four competitors. These 4 will wrestle in a tag team match at the Thanksgiving Thunder in the Superdome with teams being made by drawing names from a hat. The winners of this match will then wrestle each other in our USWA Year End Spectacular to be held in the Mid-South Coliseum. The winner of this match will get the $5000 and be crowned the first USWA Women’s Champion.

MATCH:

DEVASTATION INC. (The Iron Sheik & Black Blood with Skandar Akbar)

VS

AL MADRIL & BRIAN ADIAS

To the fans dismay, this was all Devastation Inc. The end comes when Black Blood caught Al Madril in a swinging full nelson and almost broke him in half.

After the match, Akbar is at the interview desk challenging the Fab Ones who he says have no chance at beating his team of near monsters. The crowd explodes as the Fab Ones come out and confront Akbar and his men. The Fab Ones look almost puny next to the humongous Black Blood but they don’t seem to be the least bit afraid. Both teams claim to be the better then the others but cooler heads prevail as Cowboy Watts comes out again and says enough is enough and this can be solved in the ring this week in St. Louis at the Keil Auditorium.

Ladd and Ross really hype this one up but as usual, they can’t agree on who will win this huge battle.

MATCH:

TOMMY “WILDFIRE” RICH & HACKSAW DUGGAN

VS

TERRY TAYLOR & “KILLER” TIM BROOKS

This is the first time that either of these teams are working together and it is an entertaining 8 minute bout with the fan favorites finally getting the victory as Rich caught Brooks with a cross body block and then tagged in Duggan who connected with a massive football tackle. Rich made sure Taylor couldn’t make the save as the fan favorites get their first win as a tag team.

Rich & Duggan head over to the interview desk where they focus their attention on getting even with the Rat Pack but more specifically Dick Murdoch and Dick Slater. This is some interview as Rich and Duggan really know how to cut a promo.

------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS-----------------

MAIN EVENT: WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH

THE VON ERICHS

VS

THE JAPANESE ASSASSINS (GREAT KABUKI & KENDO NAGASAKI with Gary Hart)

A great back and forth Main Event that sees all the great moves of both teams from the flying dropkicks by Kevin Von Erich and the Tornado Punches by Kerry to the nerve holds, and thrust kicks by the Japanese Assassins. To the delight of the crowd, the VonErichs take control and Kerry uses the Iron Claw to weaken Kendo Nagasaki and then he tags in his brother who climbs to the top rope and is about to go for the Von Erich Death Splash .

All of a sudden, the Perfect Alliance hit the ring and we see Arn Anderson and Bobby Eaton all over the VonErichs as Baby Doll is dishing out orders. This beating soon turns on to a 4-1 as the Japanese Assassins join in. This is where the show comes to an end as the World Tag Team Champions are sprawled out on the floor.

Jim Ross: So long from Little Rock, Arkansas. Don’t forget to join us next week in Dothan, Alabama and the Houston County Farm Center for our next TV show.

As the screen fades to black with see promotions for the major event this week in the Kiel Auditorium in St. Louis, Missouri.

LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS

“Hello again everybody. Welcome to USWA WRESTLING from Little Rock, Arkansas and the Barton Coliseum. I am Jim Ross and my partner today is the Big Cat, Ernie Ladd.”

The show starts by really hyping up the recent match between the Von Erichs and the Perfect Alliance for the USWA World Tag Belts where the VonErichs were able to get the victory by DQ when Baby Doll got involved.

MATCH

JYD (NORTH AMERICAN TITLE HOLDER)

VS

KILLER TIM BROOKS

(Non-title Match)

A nice opening bout that gets the crowd into it from the second “Another One Bites the Dust” begins to play over the speakers. JYD quickly tires of the dirty tactics of Killer Brooks and put him away with a THUMP (powerslam) which followed three straight Howling Head Butts.

JYD went to the interview desk with his USWA North American Title and was congratulated by Jim Ross while Ernie Ladd asked him when he was going to step up in competition and give some real men like Hacksaw Reed or Ted Dibiase a title shot.

JYD: First of all Ladd, nobody wants to hear your big mouth. Next thing, the Dog is a fightin champ and will wrastle anybody at any time. I have beating Reed and I have beating Dibiase……

All of a sudden the leader of the Rat Pack, Ted Dibiase, appears with his new enforcer, Loch Ness.

Ted Dibiase: Wait a minute Junk Yard Dog. Or should I call you Stagger Lee. Just remember our last two loser leave town bouts. You LOST you loser! What makes you think that you could ever beat me? I deserve a title shot and you know it.

JYD: Just look at how yellow bellied you truly are Dibiase. You can’t even come out here on your own. You got to bring Mountain Moron with you.

Loch Ness begins to inch towards JYD but Dibiase tells him to stay cool.

JYD: When the USWA names you the #1 contender, I will gladly beat on you some more.

All of a sudden Hacksaw Reed and Skandar Akbar come out.

Skandar Akbar: Wait a minute, there is no way the USWA would name Dibiase the #1 contender when we got the greatest wrestle in the world today standing right next to me. Genetically perfect with the ability to beat any man in a matter of minutes. And you Dibiase, think you are the #1 contender for the title?

As it gets a bit heated here, Cowboy Bill Watts comes out with a message.

Cowboy Bill Watts: I think the people are sick and tired of the Rat Pack! (The crowd cheers) and I think the people are sick and tired of Skandar Akbar and Devastation Inc. (The crowd cheer again) The USWA Board of Directors has decided that neither of you are currently the #1 contender to JYD’s title.

Both men seem really confused and agitated.

Cowboy Bill Watts: Let me explain. The Board has decided that right now, you two are both equally deserving of a title shot.

Jim Ross: Does that mean JYD has to face both men?

Cowboy Bill Watts: No, that seems like an impossible task. Instead, as we in the USWA understand, we must please our fans. They just seemed really excited at the idea of the Rat Pack and Devastation Inc. tearing each other apart so this week in St. Louis, Missouri and the Kiel Auditorium, Ted Dibiase and Hacksaw Reed will face each other and the winner will be named the number # contender to the North American Title and will face JYD at Thanksgiving Thunder in the Louisiana Superdome.

Ross and Ladd hype this up as JYD just smirks and Dibiase and Reed eye each other cautiously.

------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS-----------------

MATCH: USWA WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE

ICEMAN KING PARSONS

VS

DAN SPIVEY

Once again, the crowd is brought to their feet with a little music as Iceman comes to the ring to “We are family.”

As for the match, the young Spivey gives Iceman all he can handle. This big young rookie has some future and came within a clothesline of gaining his first title. Instead, Iceman ducked under the clothesline and came off the ropes with a huge Butt Bump and barely got the pin.

Iceman really expresses his respect for Spivey at the interview desk and seems relieved to have won the match. This is when Playboy Gary Hart comes to the interview desk. Hart tells Iceman that Spivey is nothing and if you want to see a newcomer to the USWA in action with a bright future, stay here for just a minute.

MATCH:

SUPER STRONG MACHINE

VS

AL MADRIL

As soon as the Super Strong Machine heads to the ring, Jim Ross begins to go crazy as he is yelling about how the last time this lunatic was in the USWA, he almost killed a man and that he was suspended indefinitely.

Gary Hart: Jim Ross, you are correct. The last time he was here, he did nearly kill a man and he was suspended. Why, I do not know. Is it his fault that he is just that much better than ever other wrestle here? No, I think not and pleaded my case over and over and over again with the Board of Directors and finally them have come to their senses and reinstated my man.

Ernie Ladd: Sounds fair to me.

As for the match, it was just a barbaric beating. One huge power move after another. The end came after Super Strong Machine connect with a Bridging Underhook Suplex and finished it with a devastating Sit-Down Powerbomb. As Hart and the Machine celebrate in the ring, ref Pee Wee Anderson is frantically calling for a stretcher as Al Madril seems seriously injured.

------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS-----------------

MATCH: 6 Man Tag Match

THE FABULOUS FREEBIRDS with Precious

VS

MIKE VON ERICH, SWEET BROWN SUGAR & MIKE GRAHAM

The first thing we notice is that Precious is wearing a neck brace which Ross explains comes from a recent encounter with Madusa. Ernie Ladd seems disgusted by this as he doesn’t understand how a professional athlete like Madusa thinks it is ok to attack a person with absolutely no wrestling experience. Ross counters by asking Ladd how many times Precious has stuck her nose it where it doesn’t belong and hit someone with her loaded purse. Ladd seems confused and doesn’t recall any of this. He also wants to know how Jim Ross knows what is in a women’s purse and if Ross might be a little ya know, “funny.”

This is also the first we have seen of Mike Graham sense his vicious parking lot beating from Kevin Sullivan. Ross hopes he is ok but Ladd thinks that is impossible as nobody is ever ok after dealing with Kevin Sullivan.

As for the match it is a nice 8 minute showcase with a lot of back and forth action. The end comes when Hayes and Garvin double team Sweet Brown Sugar as Precious distracts the ref. While Precious is jumping up on the ring apron and pointing a menacing finger in the refs face, Ross wonders how a person with a neck brace could be jumping and gyrating like that. He beliefs it all to be a rouse. When the ref is done with Precious, she suddenly remembers her neck brace and climbs down to the ring floor ever so gingerly which prompts Ladd to tell Ross he is just so hateful and it is obvious she is hurt.

With Sugar already in trouble, Garvin connects with a Brainbuster for the victory. Ross argues that this move should be illegal and Ladd counters with the thought that whenever a fan favorite uses a move like a piledriver or a brainbuster, you say how wonderful the wrestle is.

Ernie Ladd: DOUBLE STANDARD ROSS?

The Freebirds make a quick stop at the interview desk where they hype up the fact that they deserve another shot at the 6 Man Belts held by Terry Gordy, Manny Fernandez and Steve “Dr. Death” Williams.

------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS-----------------

MAIN EVENT:

“MANIAC” MATT BORNE with Rat Pack Enforcer LOCH NESS

VS

CHRIS ADAMS

In a wild main event, we see Adams seemingly in control after about 7 minutes. Somehow the two sandwich ref David Manning and with Manning down, Adams goes to check on him. Borne catches him from behind with an elbow and down goes Adams. All 6’11 and 685 pounds of Loch Ness climbs into the ring and with Borne holding Adams legs, Loch Ness climbs to the first rope. He just kind of falls off with what Ross called the biggest Super Splash in history. Adams is crushed and the loud crash must have woken Manning. With Loch Ness back on the floor, Borne covers Adams in the most arrogant of ways, by standing up and putting one foot on Adams chest.

With the victory we hear Borne calling for Iceman and his World TV Title.

DOTHAN, ALABAMA

“Hello again everybody. Welcome to USWA WRESTLING from Dothan, Alabama and the Houston County Farm Center. I am Jim Ross and my partner today is the Big Cat, Ernie Ladd.”

DUE TO A HECTIC SCHEDULE, THIS WEEKS SHOW WILL BE IN SUMMARY FORM! BOTH TV SHOWS DO THEIR BEST TO HYPE UP THE UPCOMING THANKSGIVING THUNDER CARD FROM THE SUPERDOME ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 20th.

ANGLE #1: USWA WORD TITLE: DUSTY RHODES VS TERRY FUNK

· We see a short video of Rhodes and Funk from the Kiel Auditorium where the match ended in a Double Count-out as the two brawled all over the studio.

· Jim Ross announces that the feud is far from settled and that the two will meet again at Thanksgiving Thunder in a Bull Rope Match.

· Terry Funk beats Chris Adams in a real violent match but the end comes with Funk showing some technical skill by using the Spinning Toe Hold for the victory after the match, Funk beats Adams with the Bull Rope until Dusty comes out and the two go at it in a big way. The locker room has to get the two separated.

· We see some pre-taped comments from both Dream and Funk and they seem ready to go for the kill at Thanksgiving Thunder. As we know, both men can really cut a promo.

ANGLE # 2: USWA WORLD TG TEAM TITLE: THE VONERICHS VS ARN ANDERSON & BOBBY EATON

· Ross and Ladd hype up the match between the two at the Kiel Auditorium that ended with a DQ when the ref thought he caught Kevin VonErich with an illegal object. It was a pair of brass knuckles that Baby Doll was tossing to Beautiful Bobby but Kevin intercepted them. After the DQ, Kevin felt he had nothing to lose, knocked Eaton out. The fans went wild.

· Ross explains that the Perfect Alliance will be given their last title shot against the VonErichs at Thanksgiving Thunder. If they fail to win the belts, they will not be allowed to wrestle the VonErichs for the titles for 1 year. Ladd is really upset at this and explains that it is total unfair.

· Both teams gain easy victories on the show and in their interviews it is obvious that there is no love loss here. The VonErichs are sick and tired of the Perfect Alliance’s dirty tactics while we have to listen to Baby Doll scream about Kevin VonErich stooping so low as to use a weapon in the ring. When Ross confronts her and reminds her that she threw the brass knuckles into the ring, Baby Doll went nuts on Ross.

· In other tag team news, we find out that Dick Murdoch was injured at the hands of Hacksaw Duggan during the Murdoch/Slater vs Duggan/Rich match at Kiel Auditorium. Duggan took the 2 x 4 to Murdoch’s head and it seems that he has suffered concussion and will be out of action for a couple of weeks. Duggan and Rich were disqualified and the Rat Pack gained the victory. An angry “Dirty” Dick Slater demanded and received a NO DQ match against Duggan at Thanksgiving Thunder. Duggan was thrilled during his TV interview and said it was not victories he was after but revenge. He claims the Rat Pack started this war and he was more than happy to end it.

· The Fab Ones and Devastation Inc. also hyped up their match against each other at Thanksgiving Thunder.

ANGLE #3: USWA WORLD 6 MAN TITLE: FREEBIRDS VS THE VIOLENCE COMMITTEE

· Ross announces The Freebirds and the Violence Committee will face off at Thanksgiving Thunder.

· The Freebirds attacked Steve “Dr. Death Williams” during his TV singles bout against Killer Brooks. This quickly led to a brawl between the two best 6 man teams in the USWA. A commercial break seemed to restore order.

· In other 6 man tag news, we see the first win for the Japanese Assassins (Kabuki, Nagasaki and the Super Strong Machine with Gary Hart) Both Ross and Ladd hype up their potential.

ANGLE # 4: USWA WORLD TV TITLE: ICEMAN PARSONS/MANIAC MATT BORNE

· Cameras rolled in the back of the studio as we Iceman getting attacked by Maniac Matt Borne and the new enforcer for the Rat Pack, Loch Ness.

· Later in the show, a bruised and battered Iceman comes to the interview desk a demands a title match with Borne at Thanksgiving Thunder. Ross is unsure if that is a good thing as Iceman seemed a bit wobbly. Ladd gave him some credit for “finally” facing a real challenges. Cowboy Bill Watts does grant the match.

ANGLE #5: USWA NORTH AMERICAN TITLE

· We see a video from the Kiel Auditorium between Ted Dibiase and Hacksaw Butch Reed for the #1 contenders spot to face JYD at Thanksgiving Thunder. Unfortunately nothing was cleared up as the match ended in a draw.

· Ladd says that Cowboy Bill Watts has no choice but to let Reed and Dibiase face JYD in the Superdome but Ross says that is ridiculous. Unfortunately for JYD, Cowboy Bill Watts agreed with Ladd and we have a 3 Way North American Title Match at Thanksgiving Thunder. All 3 wrestlers had their time on the mic during the show. Nobody seemed thrilled with the ruling as JYD seemed rather depressed about his chances.

ANGLE 6: USWA WOMEN’S: Baby Doll, Madusa, Wendy Richter & Fabulous Moolah

· All 4 women are called out as these are the Final 4 to become the first ever USWA Women’s champion. The rules are that they will first have a tag match at Thanksgiving Thunder and then at the year-end spectacular, the winners of the tag match will meet one and one with the winner becoming the champion.

· The reason for them all being out at the interview desk was to pick teams. Ross explains that their 4 names will in a hat and the first two Ernie Ladd picks out will be team-mates.

· Ladd choices Baby Doll and Madusa to be one team and Wendy Richter and Moolah to be the other. This lead to whole lot more arguing as nobody seemed happy. Ross told them if they want to be champion, they better learn to work together by Tuesday night.

We also learn that Mike VonErich has signed a contract to wrestle his cousin, “Mr. Texas” (Lance VonErich) as he tries to seek revenge for the trouble’s Lance has caused the rest of the VonErich boys.

Jim Ross: So long from Dothan, Alabama. Don’t forget to join us this Tuesday Night in the Louisiana Superdome for Thanksgiving Thunder. Next week will be in Knoxville, Tennessee and the Knoxville Civic Center.

As the screen fades to black with see promotions for the Thanksgiving Thunder.

Big time USWA stuff coming up with the Superdome on the horizon. I like the inclusion of the women as it is a legit difference maker in our world of wrestling. Don't quite know if it is main event material, but definitely something fun. A triple threat match in 1984 would be ground breaking... especially for the North American title... with Dibiase, Reed, and JYD... pure craziness.

FROM THE LOUISIANA SUPERDOME

NEW ORLEANS. LOUISIANA

“Hello again everybody. Welcome to the Thanksgiving Special from The Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. We are here live on WTBS. I am Jim Ross along with Ernie Ladd.

Both Ross and Ladd hype up tonight’s event and give some time to the Bull Rope Match for the World Title between Dusty Rhodes and Terry Funk. Ross believes Rhodes will come out on top but Ladd disagrees as there in tougher wrestler in the world then Terry Funk.

Ross and Ladd also have a bit of a back and forth on the North American Title Match which is a three way match between JYD, Ted Dibiase and Hacksaw Reed. This time, Ross and Ladd seem to be on the same page as the deck is obviously stacked against the Dog.

Ross takes us to the ring for our first bout which could be a Main Event anywhere in the country.

HACKSAW JIM DUGGAN

VS

DIRTY DICK SLATER with Loch Ness

This is an intense match from the beginning as Duggan has gone on the war path of late and is hell bent on ridding the USWA of the entire Rat Pack. Duggan excites the fans by waving his trusty 2 x 4 around as he enters the ring but is attacked before the bell as he turned and played to the fans. Slater is one tough hombre and he really knows how to throw the hands. Somehow, Duggan regained the momentum and the end came after Duggan followed up a powerslam with a nasty football tackle. As the ref counted three, we see the nearly 700 pound Loch Ness climb up onto the apron and enter the ring. Duggan is not about to back down and quickly gets his weapon. Duggan cracks Loch Ness across the back of the head but instead of Loch Ness going down, the 2 x 4 splinters into tiny pieces. Loch Ness just laughs at Duggan who looks like he just saw a ghost. Loch Ness smashes Duggan into the corner and by now Slater is up. Slater holds Duggan’s legs down as Loch Ness begins to climb to the second rope. Jim Ross announces that if he connects with this Big Splash it could mark the end of Duggan’s career.

Before Loch Ness gets his balances, the crowd explodes as Wildfire Rich rushed down the aisle and clobbers Slater. Rich now hopes up on the middle rope and hits Loch Ness with about 10 huge haymakers. As Rich hops down, we see Loch Ness teetering on the ropes. Finally after a few uneasy moments, Loch Ness loses his balances and crashes head first to the mat. Rich and Duggan begin putting the boots to the Rat Pack and are soon in complete control of the ring. Rich and Duggan embrace in the ring as Ross hypes up the fact that these two have become really close friends of late and that they are becoming a force to reckon with in the tag team division.

MATCH TIME: 14:21.

WINNERS: Hacksaw Jim Duggan

_________________________________________________________________________

MR. TEXAS with SKANDAR AKBAR

VS

MIKE VONERICH

Mike Von Erich was able to get his revenge here. While Akbar did his best to distract Mike VonErich, there was no stopping him here. Ladd reminds us that Mr. Texas is the one who put Mike out of action for a month with a nasty head injury and that Mike better be careful or it would happen again. In the end, Mike nailed Akbar who was up on the apron and then turned his attention on Lance. He caught Lance with the Iron Claw and that was all she wrote.

MATCH TIME: 7:02

WINNER: The VonErichs

__________________________________________________________________________

WOMEN”S TAG TEAM MATCH

THE WINNERS WILL FACE EACH OTHER FOR THE WORLD TITLE

WENDY RICHTER & BABY DOLL VS MADUSA MICELI & THE FABULOUS MOOLAH

This is a wild match where neither teams is happy with their partner. The team of Baby Doll and Madusa take control. Madusa seems to be just one step ahead of both Richter and Moolah and Baby Doll just seems to be too powerful. In the end, we see Madusa with a slingshot suplex on Moolah which seems to be enough for the victory until the unthinkable happens. Baby Doll comes in and makes the save. Ernie Ladd seems confused but Jim Ross believes that Baby Doll is just plan insane and her jealousy has won out and she can’t bear to see Madusa gain the victory for her team.

Madusa and Baby Doll have words and begin to shove each other. Moolah is able to make the tag and Richter rushes in and rolls up Madusa for the

Baby Doll hits Richter with a massive elbow drop. Baby Doll demands to be legally tagged in and Madusa obliges. As she comes in the ring, Richter is just getting up and is hit with the biggest clothesline in Women’s wrestling. It looked like her head was going to separate from her body. Baby Doll makes the cover and Madusa, doing the team thing, drop kicks Moolah and prevents her from making the save.

Jim Ross and Ernie Ladd hype up the fact the Baby Doll and Madusa gained the victory and now they will face each other for the Women’s title. Baby Doll and Madusa just stare each other down and don’t celebrate one iota.

MATCH TIME: 10:41

WINNER: Baby Doll and Madusa Miceli

USWA WORLD TV TITLE MATCH

ICEMAN KING PARSONS VS “MANIAC” MATT BORNE

With Borne already in the ring, the champion comes out and does his best to get the crowd going with a little “We are family,” but it is obvious that he is not himself. He comes out with his mid-section wrapped and Ross reminds us of the crushing blow he took from the Rat Pack’s enforcer Loch Ness. Ladd says that Iceman has no shot here and he just give it up.

Iceman gave it his best shot but was only able to keep the momentum for short periods of time. He did have one shot at victory as he went for the Butt Bump but Borne hooked the ropes. In the end, Borne caught Iceman with a DDT.

Ross is disgusted that the Rat Pack’s dirty tactics last week have led to a championship for the group while Ladd reminds Ross that this is wrestling and that Ross needs to put on his big boy pants and stop crying because Borne beat Parsons here in the Superdome fair and square.

MATCH TIME: 7:41.

WINNER: Maniac Matt Borne (NEW USWA WORLD TV CHAMPION)

__________________________________________________________________________

USWA WORLD 6 MAN TITLE MATCH

THE VIOLENCE COMMITTEE (Fernandez. Gordy & Dr. Death)

VS

THE FABULOUS FREEBIRDS with Precious

A wild one from beginning. This was just all out brawl and neither team waited for the bell as all 6 men brawled all over the arena floor. After about 10 minutes of trying to get order restored, referee Pee Wee Anderson called this match a No Contest. The Freebirds and the Violence Committee could care less. This feud has been white hot and it is their pure hatred for one another that proved to be even more important than the World 6 Man Title. Finally, when order was restored, the cameras focused on a bloody Terry Gordy and bloody Michael Hayes. It is obvious that this feud has reached a boiling point. Jim Ross blames Michael Hayes for turning on Bam Bam while Ernie Ladd says that that is ridiculous as it was Gordy who put himself first and the team second. It doesn’t matter who is right, this one is far from over.

MATCH TIME: 0:00.

WINNER: NO CONTEST

__________________________________________________________________________

THE FABULOUS ONE

VS

DEVASTATION INC. (The Iron Sheik & Black Blood) with Skandar Akbar

This is a tale of two different teams. The fan favorite Fab Ones get the crowd going with ZZ Topps and “Sharpe Dressed Man” while Devastation Inc. raises every inch of ire the fans could muster. The hooded Black Blood is just scary. So evil and powerful looking that the fans could not imagine getting in the ring with him while The Sheik and the Iranian flag really bring out the patriotism in all at the Superdome.

The Fab Ones take a pretty good beating here and appear to be on the verge of going down to defeat. Steve Keirn is locked in the Camel Clutch by the Iron Sheik when all of a sudden, Stan Lane rushed into the ring and before the ref could get him back to his corner, he connected with a baseball sliding drop kick to the face of the Sheik. This brought Black Blood into the ring and Akbar up onto the apron. As fast as Lane attacked the Sheik, he goes after Black Blood with another flying dropkick. Black Blood stumbles backwards and crashes head to head with Akbar. Both men roll to the floor below. With Sheik dazed, Lane drags Keirn to his corner so he can legally tag himself in. Lane hops up to the top rope and as Sheik staggers to his feet, with see a third dropkick, this one from the top rope.

Lane covers Sheik and to the delight of Ross and the crowd, the Fab Ones gains the victory. Ladd is screaming about the incompetence of the USWA officials and doesn’t understand how the Fab Ones can be called the victors when Lane should not have even been in the ring.

MATCH TIME: 18:27.

WINNERS: THE FAB ONES

__________________________________________________________________________

USWA NORTH AMERICAN TITLE MATCH

THREE WAY MATCH

JYD VS HACKSAW REED with Skandar Akbar VS TED DIBIASE

The crowd really pops as Another One Bites the Dust leads the Dog to the ring. He is pumped up and swinging his big dog chain and howling at the moon. His opponents are already in the ring and are huddle together planning strategy. Jim Ross and Ernie Ladd both hype up the fact that this could only mean trouble for the Dog. Ross reviews the rules for this match and it is quite simple. ALL 3 MEN ARE IN THE RING AT ONCE. For JYD to win, he must pin or submit either Dibiase or Reed and for Dibiase or Reed to win the must pin or submit JYD.

As the bell sounds, it is obvious that Reed and Dibiase planned to attack JYD 2-1. JYD is great but not even he can take on Dibiase and Reed alone. JYD takes a crazy amount of punishment. After about 5 minutes of punching and kicking the Dog, Dibiase points to the sky and Reed shakes his head yes. Reed hoists JYD up for a Gorilla Press Spike Slam with Dibiase helping to throw the Dog to the canvass. Reed then goes for the cover.

Ted Dibiase nails Reed with a huge elbow and Reed rolls over holding his head.

Dibiase now signals for his finisher…. The Figure 4 and he quickly picks up JYD’s leg and puts him in the submission hold.

WHAM!!

Reed drops the elbow onto Dibiase.

Jim Ross: “Hey! I think JYD’s chances have just picked up. Both Reed and Dibiase might have beaten JYD to hell but they can’t let the other pin the Dog.

As the Dog is recovering from his beating, Dibiase and Reed spend the next 5 minutes or so trying to wear the other down. Finally, Dibiase can’t take anymore and gouges the eyes of Reed. From here, he connects soundly with a low blow. Reed doubles over and starts to stagger backwards and falls right through the middle ropes and crashes to the floor. Dibiase now seems to be adjusting that “loaded” black glove.

Dibiase thinking he is about to become North American Champion, turns his attention back to the Dog. Dibiase is shocked when he sees Dog up and ready for him. A quick howl to the moon as JYD blocks a huge, “loaded” right by Dibiase and then grabs him by the head and connects with 3 massive JYD head-butts. From there, it was an Irish Whip into a huge THUMP (Powerslam)

JYD goes for the pin and Reed is nowhere to be seen.

Ross hypes up the fact that JYD has beaten both Reed and Dibiase and retains the belt. Ladd is once again disgusted.

MATCH TIME: 26:25.

WINNER: JUNK YARD DOG

USWA WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH

The VonErichs

VS

The Perfect Alliance with Baby Doll

The Perfect Alliance enter first and strut their way to the ring. Baby Doll is making the sign of the championship belt as she high fives her team. Ross is unsure if she is talking about the Perfect Alliance tonight or that the she is proclaiming herself to be the first women’s champion. As the Von Erichs start to come to the ring, we notice that Madusa is leading them down the aisle. Jim Ross is excited that finally there will be someone at ringside to stop Baby Doll from getting involved. Ladd explodes that she has no right to be out here. He continues that she is not a licensed manager but it doesn’t seem that the ref is going to do anything about it!

As for the match, this Superdome crowd could not have asked for more. It is a great back and forth for about 15 minutes and then all of a sudden Baby Doll got involved by throwing a massive elbow to the face of Kevin VonErich after he was tossed out of the ring by Arn Anderson. This is all that Madusa needed to see as now the brawl was own between Madusa and Baby Doll. Since it didn’t directly interfere with the match, the ref paid no attention to it and focused on the in ring action.

Kevin caught Arn with a shoulder block as he re-entered the ring. This allowed him to get to his brother and make the tag. Kerry came in like a house afire and connected with Tornado Punches to both Arn and Eaton.

With Eaton down, Kerry quickly scoops up Arn for a massive suplex and then goes to tag his brother.

Kevin again climbs the ropes and leaps!

WHAM!!

Von Erich Death Leap right on top of Anderson. The crowd counts along with ref Pee Wee Anderson.

2…

3.

As Ross hypes up the Von Erich victory we see Madusa has the Iron Claw on Baby Doll ad she is screaming in pain. Ross explains that this relationship between the VonErchs and Madusa seems to be a two way street. Madusa helped them take care of the Perfect Alliance and the VonErichs have taught Madusa the Iron Claw to take care of Baby Doll.

MATCH TIME: 25:27.

WINNERS: THE VON ERICHS

USWA WORLD TITLE MATCH

BULLROPE MATCH

“THE AMERICAN DREAM” DUSTY RHODES

VS

TERRY FUNK

The main event is just brutal. Both men are busted open and are just beating the hell out of each other. We see Dusty being whipped into the corner but Funk rushed in a little too quickly and was caught with a nasty elbow. Funk goes down. For the next few minutes, Rhodes just grinds the open end of the cow bell into the forehead of Funk. Funk appears to be wearing a crimson mask as Jim Ross can’t belief how brutal this match is.

Rhodes continues to beat Funk with the cow bell and then begins to wrap the rope around the neck of Funk. Funk is in trouble and appears to be almost out on his feet. Rhodes whips Funk into the ropes and launches himself at Funk as Funk comes off the ropes.

GONG!

The sound of the cow bell violently hitting Funks head echoes throughout the building. Funk is knocked backwards and goes straight through the middle ropes. The camera catches Funk falling so hard through the ropes that he actually hits his head off the steel barricade surrounding the ring. Jim Ross guarantees us that there is no way Funk will be able to beat the count back in and he was right. As ref Pee Wee Anderson makes the 10 count, we see Rhodes ecstatically jumping around the ring. Jim Ross announces that Rhodes is jubilantly jumping around the ring and it appears that he has met and conquered his biggest test since becoming World Champion. What a night for Dusty Rhodes but Ernie Ladd is sure Funk will be back and that this is just a minor setback.

MATCH TIME: 32:27.

WINNERS: Dusty Rhodes

Jim Ross hypes up that Dusty is still the USWA World Heavyweight Champion.

So long from New Orleans, Louisiana.

Fantastic event, but I have to say one small thing. Going back to the Mid South days, Ted Dibiase has always been just this close to actually going big time over at the Superdome. In fact, it was here a year ago that he lost to the JYD and had to leave the Territory only to come back and avenge the loss again. I guess my point is... this was a chance to really put Dibiase over... like in the biggest way possible and then set up him and Dusty. JYD doesn't need a title and is already going to be major over no matter what... but Dibiase has to get his due at some point and I think you may have missed that opportunity here. Especially with Reed in the match, there could have been a lot of to come out of this and some really great stuff for the future.

Now that is just my two cents... in reality... the show is fantastic. Dibiase is still a star and can go on to face Dusty. Reed and JYD can still have a helluva feud and you can even do some tag teams. The Perfect Alliance and Von Erichs still have steam and you have got a star studded roster that still have a lot of weight to pull together some amazing cards.

So long story short, my input is focused on one small detail... when in reality there is nothing "wrong" but rather just another way to go with an already solid card.

11/24/1984: WTBS

9:05-10:05

KNOXVILLE, TENNESSEE

“Hello again everybody. Welcome to USWA WRESTLING from Knoxville, Tennessee and the Knoxville Civic Center. I am Jim Ross and my partner today is the Big Cat, Ernie Ladd.”

The show starts with Ross and Ladd hyping up last week’s Thanksgiving Thunder from the New Orleans Superdome.

A video of the last few minutes of the Bull Rope Match for the USWA World Title between Dusty Rhodes and Terry Funk from the Superdome is shown. We see Dusty really rip apart Funk with the cow bell and eventually gaining the victory by count-out.

After the video, Dusty Rhodes is at the interview desk and Dusty is all fired up about his victory over Funk.

Dusty Rhodes: I told you Jim Ross! I told you Ernie Ladd. Terry Funk was not taking this USWA Title form the Dream. This title represents all the great people in this country and there was no way I was going to let some low life like Terry Funk be the champion of all of you. America is a beautiful country baby and each time I look in the mirror, I seem to be getting better looking. I mean just look at this belly I got going! Just look at this wrinkled up forehead. Oh, I am real excited today baby. Not only did I beat Funk. I heard he has run away from the USWA. He has flown the coup. I beat him so bad, I heard he run all the way to Asia! That’s right! The big bad Terry Funk get beat so badly by little old me, he left the continent.

Jim Ross: Dream that is true but there are still plenty of challenges for you right here in the USWA.

Dusty Rhodes: Now that’s for sure but I plan on holding this belt for a long time. So it doesn’t matter to me if it’s Mr. Ted Dibiase. If it’s Hacksaw Butch Reed. If it’s Dirty Dick Slater or anyone else coming for my belt. You know that I am going to give it 110%. I will scratch. I will claw. The Dream owes it to you fans and I will be your champion.

Jim Ross: Well you next opponent will be decided Tuesday Night in Nashville TN with a 20 Man Over the Top Rope Battle Royal where the winner will be the new #1 contender.

Ross now takes us to the ring for our first match.

MATCH:

USWA WORLD TV TITLE MATCH

MANIAC MATT BORNE VS PVT. DON KERNODLE

We see the new champion being led to the ring by the enforcer of the Rat Pack, Loch Ness. As for the match it is a nice opening bout that goes about 7 minutes. Kernodle was performing well until he got thrown through the middle ropes. As ref Pee Wee Anderson admonished Borne, Loch Ness crushed Kernodle by slamming him into the ring post. Loch Ness then tossed Kernodle back into the ring where Borne simply covered him. Pee Wee Anderson looked around as if he knew some funny business had taken place but he couldn’t figure out what.

------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS-----------------

MATCH

ICEMAN PARSONS VS FIDEL SIERRA

Always a lot of energy in the building when either one of these two hit the ring. The Cuban Assassin brings out the worst in the crowd by waving his Cuban Flag but Iceman really pumps them up with a little “We Are Family.”

As for the match, Sierra tries to use his power advantage but this is right up Iceman’s ally as he loves to mix it up. In the end, Iceman catches the Cuban Assassin with a Butt Bump for the victory and the crowd loved every moment of it.

------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS-----------------

MATCH:

JAPANESE ASSASSINS (The Great Kabuki & Kendo Nagasaki with Gary Hart)

VS

AL MADRIL & BRIAN ADIAS

To the fans dismay, this was all the Japanese Assassins. The end comes when Kabuki sprayed the green mist into the air and then went into a wild spinning motion that ended with a nasty thrust kick to the temple of Madril.

After the match, Hart was complaining that his men get no respect and are deserving of a World Title Match.

MATCH:

THE PERFECT ALLIANCE (ARN ANDERSON & BOBBY EATON with BABY DOLL)

VS

SWEET BRWON SUGAR AND SAM HOUSTON

It seemed like the Perfect Alliance took their frustration at not winning the Tag Titles at Thanksgiving Thunder out on their opponents. It was all Arn and Eaton and the end came after Arn hit a Spinebuster on Sam Houston and then tagged in bobby Eaton who climbed to the top rope and flew off connecting with an Alabama Jam!

After the match the Perfect Alliance headed to the interview desk where Baby Doll pulled a letter out of the top of her shirt which really seemed to get the crowd going.

Jim Ross reminded here that this was a family program and to watch herself. Baby Doll answered that there was nothing family about this letter as the courts are now involved with the tag team situation.

Jim Ross: What tag team situation? Your team lost fair and square to the VonErichs last week at Thanksgiving Thunder.

By now Cowboy Bill Watts has rushed out to the interview area. When he heard the word “courts” he came running out to protect his investment.

Baby Doll: This letter is from the State Supreme Court on Louisiana which is where Thanksgiving Thunder took place. They are placing a work stoppage on the tag team title until my team is granted a fair rematch.

Ernie Ladd: That makes “perfect” sense to me.

Cowboy Bill Watts: Two questions. How did you get this situation to the highest court in the state in just 4 days and what was unfair about your last rematch.

Baby Doll: First of all Watts, when you look as “perfect” as me, things get done in a hurry and most important, during our last match with the VonErichs, your incompetent referee allowed an unlicensed manager to stay at ringside and aid the VonErichs…..One Madusa Miceli!

Jim Ross: Oh give me a break, Madusa never got involved in the match. You are just upset that she whooped your but on national TV.

Baby Doll: I was out there to manage and when she attacked me it took my focus away from the match. Managers are not supposed to be wrestling and by me having to fight her, I was unable to perform my job. READ THE PAPER! We get the next title shot and only licensed managers can be at ringside. We will take this rematch Tuesday night in Nashville!

Cowboy Bill Watts: It appears my hands are tied and we will see this match at the Tennessee Fair Grounds on Tuesday in Nashville.

------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS-----------------

MAIN EVENT:

TERRY GORDY VS MICHAEL HAYES

The war between the Freebirds and the Miracle Violence Committee continues. In this match, the beginning is all Gordy as he is just too much for Hayes to handle. After a beating that included a few huge bodyslams, Hayes slips out of the ring for a breather. It is here that Precious rushes down to ringside. She reaches into her purse and pulls out some sort of rag and pretends to whip Hayes’ face while Hayes reaches into the purse and we see that his fingers are covered into some sort of cream.

As Hayes heads back to the ring, he is met by Gordy. Hayes ducks down and catches Gordy with a shoulder block which allows him time to get in the ring. Once in the ring,

He grabs Gordy be the hair and rakes the cream across both eyes. Immediately Gordy is flailing and rolling all around the ring and grabbing at his eyes. Gordy ends up in the corner where Hayes pulls him up by the head and connects with a massive Bulldog for the victory. Gordy is still in obvious trouble as Dr. Death and Manny Fernandez rush down to his aid. Michael Hayes beats a hasty retreat and seems very pleased with himself. Dr. Death is screaming for a doctor and is trying to rinse his eyes with water.

Jim Ross expresses how dangerous this situation appears to be.

Jim Ross: Sorry we are out of time. Don’t forget to join us tomorrow morning for more USWA action. So long from Knoxville, Tennessee.

As the screen fades to black with see promotions for Tuesday’s event in Nashville.

11/25/1984: WTBS

9:05-10:05

KNOXVILLE, TENNESSEE

“Hello again everybody. Welcome to USWA WRESTLING from Knoxville, Tennessee and the Knoxville Civic Center. I am Jim Ross and my partner today is the Big Cat, Ernie Ladd.”

The show starts with Ross and Ladd talking about the disgusting action we saw yesterday on WTBS when Michael Hayes blinded Terry Gordy with some sort of cream.

Jim Ross shows the video from yesterday’s show for anyone who missed it and when it was over, Ross said that earlier today, WTBS and the USWA sent Cowboy Bill Watts and camera man over to the University of Tennessee Medical Center and that we are going to hear from both the doctor who treated Terry and from Terry Gordy himself.

First we see a video of Watts entering the hospital and then we hear from Dr. Jonathan Myers who informs us that Terry Gordy’s eyes were severely burned by the substance from Michael Hayes but that it is too early to tell if they will be any permanent damage. He went on to say that it is possible that Terry Gordy may be legally blind for the rest of his life.

The video then brings us to the hospital room of Terry Gordy where we see his eyes are heavily bandaged. Cowboy Bill Watts asks Bam Bam how he is doing.

Terry Gordy: To be honest with you, I am down. Not from the pain I am in. Not from the fact that I may never see again but by the fact that someone I used to call my brother has gone this far and has tried to take my career away from me. MICHAEL HAYES! All we been through; all the good times and bad times. I never thought it would come to this. We have won World Titles together! We have beaten the hell out of each other. NEVER, and I mean Never, would I have tried to end your career. Michael Hayes, I promise you one thing! If I ever get back to the ring, I will get even. I will beat you like the dirty dog you are. I will beat you so bad, your Mama won’t know who you are.

Gordy begins to get all worked up and nurses rush in and order everybody to leave.

When the video ends, we see both Ross and Ladd shaking their heads. Even Ernie Ladd believes that Hayes has gone too far this time. Ross knows it is early but wonders if the Miracle Violence Committee will even be able to defend their World 6 Man Titles with Gordy out of action. Ladd reminds everyone that they have 30 days to defend their title or they must forfeit their championship.

All of a sudden, the crowd has a murmur to it as Dr. Death and Manny Fernandez come out. Both Williams and Fernandez seem really focused and their attention is on getting even with Hayes and the rest of the Freebirds. They guarantee everyone that they will not let their brother down. They go on to say that they don’t care if they have to defend their 6 man titles with only two people, they will do it. They also seem a little scarred when Ross asks if they think Gordy will return to action. The both admit that they just don’t honestly know.

------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS-----------------

MATCH:

TOMMY RICH & HACKSAW DUGGAN

VS

TERRY TAYLOR & KILLER TIM BROOKS

A nice tag match that gives Wildfire and Taylor a few chances to continue their rivalry. In the end, Wildfire catches Brooks with a Lou Thesz Press and then tags in Duggan who connects with a football tackle for the victory.

During their interview with Ross and Ladd, a quick video is shown of how Wildfire saved Duggan from a massive splash by the nearly 700 pound Loch Ness. Duggan hypes up the friendship the two have as Wildfire is now fully onboard with Duggan in the feud with the Rat Pack. Rich doesn’t care if it’s Dibiase, Slater, Murdoch, Maniac Matt Borne or even that fat slob Loch Ness.

Duggan hypes how their match Tuesday night in Nashville with Borne and Loch Ness. Duggan also knows that until he can cut the head off the Rat Pack, namely Ted Dibiase, they are never going to completely stop the Rat Pack.

MATCH:

DAN SPIVEY

VS

JOHNNY MANTELL

A nice 5 minute go round for the youngster where we see the continued progress of the 6’7 Spivey/ The end this times comes by submission with a Bear Hug. Ross is amazed a just how many ways this young giant can beat a man.

------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS-----------------

$10,000 DEVASTATION INC. SUBMISSION CHALLENGE

In the ring are Hacksaw Reed, The Iron Sheik, Black Blood and Mr. Texas along with Skandar Akbar.

Akbar is on the mic telling us all just how dangerous his men are and then nobody can last even 1 minute once they get you in their clutches. He goes on to say that he will give $10,000 to anybody who can last just 60 seconds in either Hacksaw Reed’s Bearhug, Mr. Texas’s Iron Claw, The Iron Sheik’s Camel Clutch or Black Blood’s Swinging Full Nelson.

He goes on to be little the entire USWA locker room and doesn’t believe anyone has the guts to stand up to his men. All of a sudden the crowd pops as young Sam Houston runs to the ring.

Houston is somewhat cautious as he gets in the ring and who could blame him? It was all 4 members of Devastation Inc. in the ring and he was by himself. Akbar gives Houston a little credit for bravery for coming down to the ring.

Skandar Akbar: Sam Houston! So young, so brave and just like every other Texan I have ever met in my life. SO STUPID! Which of my monsters to you wish to challenge.

Houston looks around for a minute and then points to the Iron Sheik. The Iron Sheik just laughs as the other muscular monsters seem disappointed it was not their turn.

Ref Pee Wee Anderson rushed down to ringside to try and make this circus look more official. He orders Akbar and the rest of Devastation Inc. out of the ring and then tells Houston to lie down on his stomach so the Sheik can place him in the Camel Clutch.

Houston shakes around a bit to try and get the momentum going and then goes to the mat. Quickly the Sheik is on him and sits on his back and locks his arms around his chin and begins to arch backwards.

Immediately you see Houston’s face cringe with pain. Sheik amps it up a little more and almost instantly Houston is tapping. It lasted less than 15 seconds but the Sheik keeps the hold on for a while longer just for effect. Eventually he slams Sam Houston down face first and we hear his disgusting, “Tehran, Iran” chant which really has the Knoxville crowd angry.

Ernie Ladd is heard saying that maybe next time people will listen to Akbar and stay in the locker room. For once Jim Ross seems to agree with him as this Devastation Inc. is full of some bad dudes!

------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS-----------------

MAIN EVENT:

TED DIBIASE VS “GENTLEMEN” CHRIS ADAMS

In a wild main event, we see some good back and forth from this two for about 7 minutes. It here that the momentum changes as Dibiase caught Adams with a nasty elbow in the corner. Adams let his guard down for just a second expecting a clean break but this is when Dibiase surprised him.

Jim Ross goes on to say that is the reason he is the leader of the Rat Pack and what more would expect from Dibiase but an illegal maneuver while Ernie Ladd defended the move by saying elbows are legal in wrestling. Dibiase follows the elbow up with a big bodyslam and then throws Adams through the ropes where he follows him to the floor. It is here we see a nastier Dibiase then we have seen in recent weeks. He throws Adams into anything he could find. The steel barricade, the ring post and even the timer’s bell were used as weapons. Adams is busted open but Dibiase has a wry smile on his face. He throws Adams back in and connects with a Sling Shot Suplex for the victory.

Ross expresses concern for the rest of the USWA as Dibiase seems even more diabolical now than ever before. Dibiase leaves a manhandled Adams in the ring and goes to the interview table where he calls out Dusty Rhodes, the VonErichs and JYD. He is demanding title shots from all three as he believes he is unstoppable and is just the wrestler to control the entire USWA Championship situation.

Ernie Ladd seems to agree and Ross says that if tonight is any evidence then he just might be right. Ross reminds us that Chris Adams is one of the leading figures in this industry and he was just destroyed.

Jim Ross: The rest of the USWA needs to beware of Dibiase. Sorry but we are out of time. So long from Knoxville, Tennessee. Don’t forget to join us this Tuesday Night in the Nashville. Next week will be in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the Tulsa Civic Center.

12/1/1984: WTBS

9:05-10:05

TULSA, OKLAHOMA

“Hello again everybody. Welcome to USWA WRESTLING from Tulsa Oklahoma and the Tulsa Civic Center. I am Jim Ross and my partner today is the Big Cat, Ernie Ladd.”

The show starts with Ross and Ladd hyping up last week’s event from Nashville.

Jim Ross takes us to a video of the big 20 man Over the Top Rope Battle Royal where the winner becomes the next #1 contender for the World Title.

The video begins with just 3 men left. Hacksaw Butch Reed, Ted Dibiase and the 700 pound enforcer of the Rat Pack, Loch Ness. Loch Ness receives his orders and goes after Reed as Dibiase just waits in the corner. Reed and Loch Ness battle it out for a minute or two when they both seem to have the other one off balance in the corner. Reed is trying with all his might to lift Loch Ness over the rope but even his strength can’t get his out. Loch Ness is content to keep his feet firmly on the crowd while Reed sees his best chances are to climb the ropes to get some extra leverage. This is when Dibiase acts. With Reed’s attention focused on Loch Ness, Dibiase comes from behind and pushes Hacksaw over the top rope and out onto the floor. This is where is got interesting. Loch Ness just looks at Dibiase and shakes his hand and then steps over the top rope and drops the floor as the ring announcer lets us know that Ted Dibiase is the new #1 contender for Dusty Rhodes’ World Title.

When the video is over, Ted Dibiase and the rest of the Rat Pack, Matt Borne, Dick Slater and Loch Ness are at the interview desk where Dibiase says his plan is now in motion. Step 1 is complete. Get a World Title Shot.

Jim Ross asks Loch Ness why he didn’t even try to get the victory but Dibiase answers for him by simple saying “it pays to have good help!” Dibiase seems really confident here and who could blame him. With the Rat Pack around, he is doubly dangerous.

Jim Ross informs the fans that the match between Rhodes and Dibiase is going to take place at the year-end Spectacular which is going to take place at the HemisFair Arena in San Antonio, Texas.

When the interview ends, Borne heads to the ring to defend his USWA World TV Title.

MATCH:

USWA WORLD TV TITLE MATCH

MANIAC MATT BORNE VS SWEET BROWN SUGAR

A nice opening match here as the fans always love Sweet Brown Sugar. His athleticism makes this a fun bout but in the end, Borne gets the victory with what appeared to be a blow with a foreign object and then a fist full of tights ono the pin attempt.

------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS-----------------

When we come out of break, none other than Harley Race is at the interview desk. He can’t believe how stupid this organization is that they would decide the #1 contender by a battle royal when the best wrestler in the world is standing right in front of them. He announces that can beat anyone in this promotion and that it is a joke that he is not the #1 contender.

Jim Ross explains to Race that it would be unfair to give him a title shot since he has not been in action in the USWA in over a month.

Harley Race counters by asking the question, “Would I deserve a title shot if I beat that fat slob of a champion, Dusty Rhodes?

Jim Ross: I guess it would but that is neither here nor there as that match has not even been signed.

Harley Race: That is true but what has been signed is my match with Mike Graham and it is up next. Watch and learn what a real champion is capable of.

MATCH

HARLEY RACE VS MIKE GRAHAM

While Mike Graham is a really good wrestler, he is out of his class in this one. Harley Race controls the match from the beginning to the end and seems to enjoy beating Graham. He finishes Graham with a diving head-butt followed up by a piledriver.

Race continues beating Graham and grabs the house microphone and says he will continue to beat Graham until Dusty comes out here and accepts a match with Race.

The crowd begins to chant for Rhodes but Jim Ross tries to calm the situation down as he is not even sure Rhodes is in the building. This does nothing to slow down the beating of Graham who is busted open now. The ref has already reversed his decision but that was the furthest care in the world to Harley Race.

All of a sudden the crowd pops as the Dream hits the ring. Once again we see the classic Rhodes vs Race brawl taking place in the center of the ring. Neither man gives an inch and the only way that order is restored is by the locker room emptying to pull them apart.

Jim Ross and Ernie Ladd both hyp up this situation between Race and Rhodes but Ross has no idea what Bill Watts can do as Rhodes vs Dibiase has already been added to the spectacular event in San Antonio.

------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS-----------------

When we come out of the break Jim Ross hypes of the tag team situation in the USWA and in particular the white hot feud brewing between the Perfect Alliance and the World Tag Team Champions, Kevin & Kerry VonErich.

Ernie Ladd jumps in and is disgusted claiming that once again the VonErichs have used their father’s power to hold on to their titles. Jim Ross wants to know what he is talking about and Ladd simply says that Fritz is so overly protective of his sons that he will not even listen to the Louisiana State Supreme Court.

Jim Ross says let’s get to the video tape from Nashville so we can clear this all up.

The challengers, Arn Anderson and Bobby Eaton along with Baby Doll are waiting in the ring when all of a sudden Madusa Miceli leads the VonErich brothers to the ring. Baby Doll goes absolutely crazy and hands the court order banning non-managers from ringside to the ref. Ref Pee Wee Anderson goes right to Madusa and points in the direction of the locker room. Everybody believes he has just barred him from ringside but Madusa simply shakes a menacing finger, NO. Just as Baby Doll had done on national TV last week, Madusa reaches into her ample top and pulls out a letter. She waves it right in Baby Doll’s face and she grabs it and to her shock, it is a USWA Wrestling license.

This is where the video ends and Ladd and Ross have been joined by a steaming mad Perfect Alliance where Baby Doll is going nuts as she is sick and tired of Fritz protecting his boys.

Jim Ross jumps in and says that Madusa simply kept you in your place during the match and the VonErich’s beat your team fair and square. This really got the Alliance all hot and bothered and you can tell that this feud is far from over and don’t forget that Baby Doll and Madusa will be facing each other for the Women’s Championship in San Antonio.

Ross adds that the tag team title situation is a bit cluttered and that they just might have to wait their turn for another match. In fact, two of those teams are in the ring now!

MATCH:

TOMMY “WILDFIRE” RICH & HACKSAW DUGGAN

VS

THE OUTLAWS (RON BASS & BOBBY JAGGERS)

A nice back and forth match but Wildfire and Hacksaw proved to be just too much for the Outlaws. Rich got angry with the dirty tactics of the Outlaws and started throwing some big haymakers and then he caught Bass with a Lou Thesz Press that staggered the Cowboy. Duggan finished him off with a big football tackle.

At the interview desk, both Rich and Duggan accepted the praise from Ross on their recent success but in a “fired up” way reminded everyone that their goal was to get their hands on the Rat Pack.

------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS-----------------

As we come out of break, we see “Dr. Death” and Manny Fernandez and the interview desk where they give us some bad news on Terry Gordy. It seems that the injury to his eyes may be permanent as he has shown no improvement over the last week and is totally blind. They go on to say that Cowboy Bill Watts has given them the permission to continue to defend the 6 Man Title but they must do it shorthanded.

Jim Ross wishes them luck as tonight’s main event will be their first defense as a traditional tag team against Gary Hart’s might Japanese Assassins.

MAIN EVENT:

WORLD 6 MAN TITLE MATCH

“DR. Death” STEVE WILLIAMS & MANNY FERNANDEZ

VS

THE JAPANESE ASSASSINS

(Kabuki, Kendo Nagasaki, and Super Strong Ninja with Gary Hart)

The match started out well for the Violence Committee as they used their power to their advantage but the Japanese Assassins along with Hart just began to play the number’s game. 3 on 2 plus Gary Hart made this a rather tricky situation. It just seemed that Dr. Death and Fernandez were fighting a losing battle. Wherever they turned, they just were outnumbered. Kabuki had Manny in trouble and began to spray his mystical green mist into the air and then went into a wild spin as Jim Ross feared that Manny was about to get nailed with a nasty thrust kick to the temple. Somehow Manny ducked under and made the tag. Williams came in like a house afire and simply took control. He clocked both Super Strong Ninja and Kendo Nagasaki before grabbing Hart who had jumped up on the apron. Hart was basically thrown into the ring and then caught with a huge football spear. Williams then signals to the crowd that this match is over and he fulfills his promise by connecting with an Oklahoma Stampede on Kabuki.

As the ref begins his count

The crowd moans as out of nowhere the Freebirds hit the ring. It is now 8 on 2 if you count Precious and the Miracle Violence Committee will need a miracle of their own to survive this one. As the beating continues Jim Ross explains that we are out of time.

Jim Ross: So long from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Don’t forget to join us this Tuesday Night in Stillwater at the Gallagher-Iba Arena. Next week will be back in Lake Charles, Louisiana at the Civic Center.

12/1/1984: WTBS

9:05-10:05

TULSA, OKLAHOMA

“Hello again everybody. Welcome to USWA WRESTLING from Tulsa Oklahoma and the Tulsa Civic Center. I am Jim Ross and my partner today is the Big Cat, Ernie Ladd.”

The show starts with Ross and Ladd talking about the disgusting action we saw yesterday on WTBS when Harley Race continued to beat Mike Graham after their match was over prompting the USWA World Champion, Dusty Rhodes to come out and take on Race. This brawl to end brawls was only stopped when the locker room emptied pulling the two apart.

Cowboy Bill Watts comes out and explains that Dusty came to him last night and demanded a match with Harley Race. Watts says he explained to Rhodes that Dibiase gets the next title shot but that had no effect on the Dream. The Dream said he would wrestle Race in a non-title match. Watts continued by saying that when he went to Race to sign the contract, Race said he would only sign it with one additional stipulation. If Race wins, the title match in the HemisFair Arena between Dusty Rhodes and Ted Dibiase will become a 3 Corner match with Harley Race.

Watts says he tried to talk Dusty out of this but Rhodes would hear nothing of it. Watts really makes the crowd pop as he informs them that this match between Rhodes and Race will take place tonight on live TV.

MATCH:

THE FABULOUS ONES VS HACKSAW HIGGANS & JOHNNY MANTELL

A nice showcase here for the Fab Ones as they prove ones again that they are major players in the tag team division. The end came when Keirn connected with a Russian Leg sweep on Mantell.

------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS-----------------

MATCH:

JYD (NORTH AMERICAN CHAMPION)

VS

IGOR VOLKOLFF

A nice showcase here for the Dog as beats the hated Russian here in quick fashion with a well-executed Thump for the victory in just under 4 minutes.

As Dog plays to the fans, there is a slight problem with the timing of the show as Devastation Inc. heads to the ring for their submission challenge while the Dog is still there. This brings JYD head to head with his arch rival Hacksaw Butch Reed. The two have words but somehow that is all that happens as Watts rushes out and tries to keep the peace.

Jim Ross assures us that we have not seen the last of Reed and JYD. Ernie Ladd says that was the last we should ever have seen of JYD.

All of a sudden the crowd pops as young “Gentlemen” Chris Adams runs to the ring.

Adams is somewhat cautious as he gets in the ring and who could blame him? It was all 4 members of Devastation Inc. in the ring and he was by himself. Akbar hates Adams and belittles him from the second he enters the ring.

Skandar Akbar: Chris Adams or should I call you Gentle Women Chris Adams. Just like all the other women I have every meet. You stick your nose in where it doesn’t belong. Now you are going to the feel the wrath of one of my men. Who do you wish to put you out of your misery?

Adams looks around for a minute and then points to the Black Blood. Who just laughs as the other seem disappointed it was not their turn.

Ref Pee Wee Anderson orders Akbar and the rest of Devastation Inc. out of the ring and then tells Adams to turn around. Black Blood comes up from behind and like a cat places Adams in the Swinging Full Nelson. Black Blood is so strong that he bends Adams in two like a pretzel. Adams lasts only a few seconds before he must submit as Ross was afraid he would be permanently injured. Black Blood tosses him aside like a rag doll as Akbar once again praises the talent of his stable.

------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS-----------------

The segment starts with a quick video from the University of Tennessee Medical Center where we get an interview with the dejected Terry Gordy. He announces that the doctors have given him some bad news and that the odds of him getting his vision back are becoming less and less. From underneath the bandages eyes, we see a few tears roll down Gordy’s checks as he admits that he might have to face a life that doesn’t include wrestling. He finish by saying that he will never give up hope and that if he ever does see again, “Michael Hayes will wish he was never born.”

After the video, a depressed Jim Ross hopes Bam Bam the best of luck in his career threatening fight. He then brings us back to happier times and our great main event.

MAIN EVENT:

DUSTY RHODES (USWA WORLD HEAVEYWEIGHT CHAMPION)

VS

HARLEY RACE

(IF RACE WINS, THE TITLE BOUT BETWEEN RHODES AND DIBIASE BECOMES A THREE CORNER MATCH)

In typical Rhodes vs Race fashion, this is wild from the get go. Both men have their ups and downs and this long bout becomes the first match in USWA history to have a commercial break in the middle of the match.

In the end, Race somehow throws Rhodes into ref Bronco Lubich and he goes down. This does little to slow down the brawl in the ring. Rhodes catches Race with a knee to the gut and Race hits the canvass. Rhodes comes off the ropes and goes for one of his Bionic Elbows but Race rolls out in the nick of time. Rhodes is now down as Race stands up and goes for one of his diving head butts but now it is time for Rhodes to roll out at the last second. The two exit the ring and begin to throw huge right hands at each other. Race catches Rhodes with a Double Eye Gouge and then picks up a chair!

WHAM!

Race clocks Rhodes over the head with a chair and busts him wide open. Lubich is just starting to stir but since he did not see the chair, there was no DQ. Race rolls Rhodes into the ring and begins to climb to the top rope. The crowd is screaming trying to warn the American Dream!

Race leaps off!!!!

WHAM!

This time Race connects with a Diving Headbutt from the top rope! He goes for the cover. Surprisingly, the ref has now recovered enough to make what seemed like the worlds slowest count!

1…

2…

3.

Race beats Rhodes on National TV and now he will be part of the World Title Match with Dibiase in San Antonio later this month.

As usual, Ross is disgusted by the actions of the heel while Ladd hopes that come the New Year, the USWA will have a new champion. One the people can be proud of. He doesn’t care if it is Race or Dibiase as long as it is not the American Nightmare, Dusty Rhodes.

Jim Ross: So long from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Don’t forget to join us this Tuesday Night in Stillwater at the Gallagher-Iba Arena. Next week will be back in Lake Charles, Louisiana at the Civic Center.

9:05-10:05

LAKE CHARLES, LOUISIANA

“Hello again everybody. Welcome to USWA WRESTLING from Lake Charles, Louisiana and the Lake Charles Civic Center. I am Jim Ross and my partner today is the Big Cat, Ernie Ladd.” Let’s get right to the ring

MATCH

TED DIBIASE VS BRIAN ADIAS

A nice 7 minute match where Dibiase controlled about 75 percent of the match. The end came with a Figure 4 which Dibiase kept on a little bit longer then need be.

After the bout Dibiase went over to the interview desk to hype up his 3 Corner World Championship Match in a few weeks at the HemisFair Arena against Champion, Dusty Rhodes and Harley Race.

Ted Dibiase: “I understand that the USWA Board of Directors is so afraid of Ted Dibiase and the Rat Pack that every time I get a Title Match they come up with some gimmick to make sure I don’t win the belt. Last time they added Hacksaw Reed into my North American Title bout with JYD. This time Rhodes is so afraid of me that he begged the USWA to add Harley Race to make sure I don’t win.

Jim Ross: I am not sure that it was the American Dream who asked for Race to be added to work against you. Trust you me Mr. Dibiase, Rhodes and Race are not really on good terms.

Ernie Ladd: Never trusted Dusty Rhodes

Ted Dibiase: That’s for sure. Ross you should listen your partner. You may learn something. But as I was saying, it doesn’t matter who you put in the ring with me, I am going to come out on top. How convenient that Rhodes is not here tonight. Even though I just wrestled, I would take that title right off his fat waist and claim what is going to be mine in just a few short weeks.

Jim Ross: Mr. Dibiase, if you wish to prove yourself some more tonight, Harley Race is in the building.

Ted Dibiase: Now why would I do that? Thank you for your time.

------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS-----------------

MATCH

DR. DEATH STEVE WILLIAMS VS TERRY TAYLOR

The first singles match for Williams in a long time as he has been busy defending the 6 man world title but with Gordy out with the eye injury he is alone tonight to face one of the best the USWA has to offer.

The match is a long drawn out bout for TV as it goes about 10 minutes. While it is back and forth, it seems like Williams was just too powerful for Adams to sustain the offense. In the end it was Williams finishing off Taylor with the Oklahoma Stampede.

This is where the trouble began as the Freebirds knew that had a numbers advantages rushed to the ring and began a three on one attack. After a few minutes of a good beating, we see Hayes start to get excited as he reaches into the purse of Precious and pulls out the same jar of cream that blinded Bam Bam.

As Roberts and Garvin hold Williams down, Hayes reaches in a gets a huge glob of the cream on his fingers and he starts to placate to the crowd! Just before he can get to Williams, the crowd pops as Manny Fernandez and the VonErichs hit the ring. Manny and the 3 brothers know have the numbers as we see that Kerry went right for Hayes and connected with a huge Tornado Punch to ensure that he didn’t blind anyone. Fernandez is like a bull in a china closet and is knocking everyone out of the ring. The crowd pops as the Miracle Violence Committee embrace the VonErichs and thank them for their aid.

Jim Ross can’t believe that Hayes would try that eye cream stunt again and believes that the USWA should suspend him. As you would expect, Ernie Ladd has a different opinion and believes it should be the VonErich brothers who are suspended as they had no right to be in the ring.

------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS-----------------

MATCH:

USWA WORLD TV TITLE MATCH

MANIAC MATT BORNE with Special Enforcer to the Rat Pack, Loch Ness

VS

BRETT WAYNE SAWYER

A well-executed math here as both wrestlers are pretty technically sound. In the end, Borne is aided by the 700 pound monster Loch Ness who climbed up onto the apron and distracted Ref Bronco Lubich. This allowed Borne to get the victory with what appeared to be a blow with a foreign object and then a fist full of tights for the pin.

MATCH

SUPER STRONG NINJA VS DAN SPIVEY with Gary Hart

Both Ross and Ladd are intrigued by this bout as the young Spivey has been real good of late. In this bout he gives a really solid 8 minutes before succumbing to a Sit-down Powerbomb by the Super Strong Ninja.

In a real interesting interview, Gary Hart praises the young Spivey and says that he gave his man the best bout he has had in a while. Hart wonders aloud as to what Spivey could become under his tutelage.

------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS-----------------

MAIN EVENT:

HACKSAW DUGGAN & WILDFIRE TOMMY RICH

VS

DEVASTATION INC.

(Iron Sheik & Black Blood with Skandar Akbar)

Ross and Ladd really give us a good update on all the quality tag teams in the USWA and they both agree that these are two of the best. They just disagree as to which is better.

As for the bout, it is a wild, back and forth match. The heels took the early advantage when the Iron Sheik rushed Wildfire before the bell sounded and clocked him with the flag pole while ref Scrappy McGowan was warning Akbar to stay clear of the ring.

Eventual Rich got going and when he tagged in Duggan all hell broke loose. The action was now mostly 4-4 and it seemed like the ref was on the verge of losing control. This is when Rich whipped Black Blood into the ropes and Black Blood clocked Akbar. Rich followed this up with a running clothesline that caused Black Blood to flip over the ropes and land on Akbar. Sheik rushed the ring to try and get revenge on Rich and these two went at it in the center of the ring. Duggan, on the floor, rounded the corner and hit a perfectly timed football tackle on Black Blood just as he was getting up. Black Blood hit the steel barricade and was in serious trouble.

There is a moan from the crowd….

As the ref finished counting out Black Blood giving the victory to Rich and Duggan…….

WHAM!

The fans saw then coming but the camera never did. It was the Rat Pack with Dibiase directing traffic.

The Wham…. It was Loch Ness rushing at Duggan and connecting with a huge 700 pound smush of Duggan into the ring apron.

With Duggan taken out, we saw Rich try to do his best against Dibiase, Dick Slater, Matt Borne, and the Iron Sheik. Needless to say this did not go well and as the show came to an end Jim Ross was fearful of serious injury to Duggan and Wildfire.

Jim Ross: So long from Lake Charles, Oklahoma. Don’t forget to join us this Tuesday Night in Baton Rouge at the Cajundome. Next week will be back in the great state of Texas and wrestling’s most famous arena, The Sportatorium in downtown Dallas, Texas.

As the screen fades to black with see promotions for the event in Baton Rouge.

12/9/1984: WTBS

9:05-10:05

LAKE CHARLES, LOUISIANA

“Hello again everybody. Welcome to USWA WRESTLING from Lake Charles, Louisiana and the Lake Charles Civic Center. I am Jim Ross and my partner today is the Big Cat, Ernie Ladd.”

The show starts with Ross and Ladd talking about the disgusting action we saw yesterday on WTBS when Michael Hayes attempted to blind Dr. Death Steve Williams.

It is during this discussion that we hear “Freebird” start to blare from the speakers and all three of the devious tag team along with Precious strut out to the interview desk.

Michael Hayes: No reason to talk about us like we are not hear. If you have something to say Jim Ross, at least have the guts to say it to our faces.

Jim Ross: Ok then. What you did yesterday and what you did to Terry Gordy are the most heinous acts I have ever seen in wrestling. No change that. They are the most heinous acts I have seen anywhere in my life. You should be in jail for your actions.

Micahel Hayes: Listen up brother. We are the Freebirds. We come from Bad Street, Atlanta GA! We don’t give an inch. We don’t ask for an inch. We take the whole mile and if you can’t handle that and if the Miracle Violence Committee can’t handle that, then it is just TOO BAD! Gordy wanted to play with the Devil and then complains “oooh, oooh, I my eyes. My eyes! I can’t see.” What is he stupid? Play with fire, go blind by the fire. Now the rest of the Miracle Violence Committee is upset that they got beat by the Freebirds last night on TV. Well again. That is just TOO BAD.

All of a sudden, Cowboy Bill Watts comes out to the set.

Jim Ross: Finally, someone who can do something about this animal. Please fine him. Please suspend him.

The crowd starts chanting….. “Fire Hayes…… Fire Hayes.”

Cowboy Bill Watts: I will not fine Michael Hayes. I will not suspend him.

Michael Hayes: Finally, the USWA has the courage to stand up to these obnoxious fans.

Cowboy Bill Watts: I think I will do what you original asked for Jim Ross. I am going to have Michael Hayes….. Arrested!

Four Louisiana State Police come out and handcuff Michael Hayes. The rest of the Freebirds are unsure of what to do make a move towards the officers who warn them to back up or they will be going to jail also!

Jim Ross: Finally!

------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS-----------------

MATCH:

JYD (NORTH AMERICAN CHAMPION)

VS

FIDEL SIERRA

A nice showcase here for the Dog as beats the hated Cuban here in quick fashion with a well-executed Thump for the victory in just under 4 minutes.

For the second straight week JYD runs into Devastation Inc. as he is leaving the arena. Again he and Hacksaw Reed have some words. Instead of leaving, JYD stands by the interview desk as listens to Akbar give his babble about the Devastation Inc. Submission Challenge.

JYD: Just wanted to make sure this was official.

All of a sudden “Another One Bites the Dust” begins to blare from the speakers and the crowd literally explodes.

Jim Ross: I can’t believe it, it looks like the Dog has accepted Akbar’s challenge. It will be real interesting to see who he chooses.

JYD rushes to the ring and shows no fear of the rest of Devastation Inc. He quickly points right at Reed as Akbar is staggering backwards and can’t believe that JYD is in the ring.

As JYD is getting ready to be put in the Bearhug by Reed, the camera catches Akbar and the rest of Devastation Inc. having a little pow wow in the corner.

Ref Pee Wee Anderson orders Akbar and the rest of Devastation Inc. out of the ring and then tells JYD to get next to Reed. Reed appears to be sweating a bit and locks his huge arms around the Dog and begins to squeeze with all his might. Dog is struggling and begins to push Reed’s face away to alleviate some of the pressure.

15 Seconds in and JYD is in obvious pain and appears to be trying to get his arms between Reed’s to break the hold.

30 seconds in, JYD extends his arms and then smashes them together engulfing Reed’s head.

WHAM… one blow to Reed’s head

WHAM… another blow to Reed’s head

WHAM… a third blow to Reed’s head and Hacksaw is staggering and drops to one knee. He still kind of has the Bearhug on but it is obvious Dog will last the minute.

WHAM….

The rest of Devastation has hit the ring and they are all over the Dog. Pee Wee Anderson immediately calls for the bell but Devastation Inc. is in full war mode now.

Jim Ross is hyping up the fact that JYD has won the $10,000 but Ladd is not so sure as the minute never expired.

All of a sudden, the 3 VonErich brothers rush out and Devastation Inc. is now battling 4 on 4. Soon the fan favorites regain the ring and their foe head for higher ground.

Ross hypes up the relationship between the Dog and the VonErich brothers while Ladd thinks the VonErichs should be suspended for interfering tonight but he knows that will never happen because of who their father is.

------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS-----------------

The segment starts with a quick video from the University of Tennessee Medical Center where we get to see Terry Gordy being released from the hospital. We get a quick interview from the doctor who lets us know that Gordy’s vision has not improved and only time will tell if he will ever see again.

Gordy is wheeled to the door where we see him getting out of the wheel chair and then handed a walking stick. Awkwardly, he is guided to a car by an elderly women who we are lead to believe is his mother. She guides him to the car and then we watch it drive away.

After the video, Jim Ross hopes that when Gordy hears about what just happened to Michael Hayes but he understands that Gordy has a long road ahead of him and wishes him luck.

MATCH

THE FABULOUS ONES

VS

THE OUTLAWS (Ron Bass & Bobby Jaggers)

The Fab Ones really get the crowd going with their entrance. Some loud music, Tuxedos, Top Hats, and a few kisses for the women in attendance and the Lake Charles Civic Center is rocking!

A nice 8 minute match here with the Fabulous Ones controlling about 70% of the action. The end came after a nice double back suplex on Jaggers.

Ones again, Ross and Ladd discuss this crowded tag team division. Ross is sure that the Fab Ones are worthy of a title shot but Ladd, of course, disagrees.

------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS-----------------

Jim Ross and Ernie Ladd really hype up our main event as it is an mixed gender match between Madusa and the World USWA Tag Team Champions, the Von Erich bothers against Baby Doll and the Perfect Alliance (Arn Anderson & Bobby Eaton).

MATCH

KEVIN & KERRY VONERICH & MADUSA MICELI

VS

BABY DOLL AND THE PERFECT ALLIANCE

The rules for the match were that the men had to wrestle the men and the women could only face each other. While watching the match, you almost felt sorry for ref Pee Wee Anderson. It was impossible for him to keep control. Every time, he had order restored, it quickly broke down to either 4 people in the ring at once or even at times all 6 were involved in a Pier 6 Brawl!

As you would expect, TV time expired before there was a winner as Ross wondered who would become the first ever USWA Women’s Champion and Ladd pushed for the Perfect Alliance to get one more title shot.

12/15/1984: WTBS

9:05-10:05

DALLAS, TEXAS

“Hello again everybody. Welcome to USWA WRESTLING from Dallas, Texas and wrestling’s most famous arena, The Sportatorium. I am Jim Ross and my partner today is the Big Cat, Ernie Ladd.” Let’s get right to the ring

Due to the fact that I am just too bust too write a complete show and that I have a promotion somewhat in flux, this show will just be a highlight show which promotes the year end spectacular; The Last Stand 1984, from the HemisFair Arena in San Antonio on December 22nd.

1. USWA WORLD HEAYWEIGHT TITLE

During the show, we see interviews from all three combatants in the Three Corner Championship match between Dusty Rhodes, Ted Dibiase and Harley Race. All three seem pretty confident but are not thrilled at the idea that it is a 3 Corner Match.

2. USWA WORLD TITLE

The Perfect Alliance defeated the Fabulous Ones with help from Baby Doll to earn the #1 Contenders match to face the Von Erichs at Last Stand. After winning the match, the Perfect Alliance headed to the interview desk and were informed by Cowboy Bill Watts that this will be their last chance to regain the World Title for at least 6 months.

3. USWA NORTH AMERICAN TITLE

A video of the attack by Devastation Inc. on JYD during last week during the Submission Challenge was shown. JYD was about to win $10,000 from Skandar Akbar as it was becoming obvious that he would not submit to Hacksaw Reed’s Bearhug when the rest of Akbar’s men attacked him.

JYD joined Jim Ross for an in ring interview where he is furious that Akbar is not giving him the money and he also is demanding a Texas Street Fight Match where anything goes against Reed at Last Stand.

Reed comes out and starts jarring at the Dog. JYD challenges him to come into the ring right now but Reed declined that challenge but did accept the title match for Last Stand.

4. DEVASTATION INC SUBMISSION CHALLENGE…

Tonight it is Mike Von Erich who accepted Skandar Akbar’s $10,000 challenge. Mike chooses his opponent….. Mr. Texas (Lance Von Erich) and the Iron Claw. Prior to the segment starting, the rest of the VonErich brothers and JYD came out to make sure that the rest of Devastation Inc. doesn’t get involved in the action. During the one minute challenge, Mike Von Erich is not only able to withstand the pressure on the claw but he is able to break the hold and put Lance into his own Iron Claw. The rest of Akbar’s men tried to get into the ring but were stopped by the Von Erich brothers and the Dog. After the one minute and the bell sounding, it was obvious that Akbar would have to hand over the $10,000 which he begrudgingly did.

All of a sudden, Akbar tells Hacksaw Reed, Black Blood (Billy Jack in a mask), and the Iron Sheik to turn on Lance Von Erich. They give it to him pretty good for a minute or two and the VonErich brothers are unsure what to do. Finally, they come to their cousin’s aid proving blood is thicker than water.

Later in the show, we find out that Lance & Mike VonErich are going to face Devastation Inc. (Black Blood & The Iron Sheik) at Last Stand where whichever wrestler losers, he will be forced to leave the USWA. Jim Ross seems really concerned about this event and wonders if Mike can really trust Lance who has been stabbing the VonErichs in the back for months now.

5. USWA WORLD 6 MAN TAG TEAM

This seems to be the hottest angle right now in the USWA. We find out that Michael Hayes was released from Lake Charles City Jail after Terry Gordy begged Cowboy Bill Watts not to press charges against his former partner. In a video interview from Bam Bam’s house, we see a blind Gordy trying to learn how to cope with his new life with this horrible disability. Gordy explains that the reason he didn’t want Watts to press charges against Hayes was because he still had hope that he would regain his site and he needed the thought of beating Hayes to a pulp to keep him focused on his recovery.

Also during the show, the other two members of the Miracle Violence Committee win a quick bout against Igor Volkolf and Fidel Sierra. In their post-match interview, Dr. Death and Manny Fernandez are furious at last week’s attack by Michael Hayes in which he attempted to blind Williams just weeks after he blinded Terry Gordy. This anger has fueled them into challenging The Freebirds to any type of match they choose at Last Stand.

It is here that the Freebirds strut out and can’t believe their luck. They respond by accepting the challenge of the Miracle Violence Committee and announcing that the match will be an Elimination Match for the World 6 Man Title.

Jim Ross tries to explain that type of match would be totally unfair as it would be 3-2. Hayes responds “Too Bad” and if you want a preview ………WATCH!

The 3 Freebirds attack Williams and Manny and due to the numbers game, have their way with them. The locker room empties to calm this situation down as Ernie Ladd seems really happy in that he believes the Freebirds will be the next champions.

6. THE HACKSAW DUGGAN/TOMMY RICH VS THE RAT PACK FEUD

A camera catches a parking lot attack on Rich & Duggan by Rat Pack members Dirty Dick Slater, Matt Borne and Loch Ness. Later in the show we hear that Rich and Duggan will face Slater and Borne at last stand in a steel cage match. The reason for the cage is that Watts hopes this will keep the rest of the Rat Pack from interfering in the match.

As the screen fades to black with see promotions for the events in Fort Worth and the end of the year spectacular in San Antonio.

USWA WRESTLING PRESENTS

jhQkcNW.jpg?3

12/22/1984: WTBS

7:05-10:05

FROM THE HEMISFAIR ARENA

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS

“Hello again everybody. Welcome to the Year End Special from the HemisFair Arena in San Antonio. We are here live on WTBS. I am Jim Ross along with Ernie Ladd.

Both Ross and Ladd hype up tonight’s event and give some time to the 3 Corner Match for the USWA World Title between Dusty Rhodes, Harley Race and Ted Dibiase. Ross believes Rhodes will come out on top but Ladd disagrees as he doesn’t think Rhodes is half the man that his competitors are.

Ross gets us right to the action.

ICEMAN PARSONS

VS

THE GREAT KABUKI with Gary Hart

A nice way to kick off the evening as Parsons gets the crowd going right away with a little “We Are Family.” Ross loves the dancing and the energy but Ladd wonders how much energy Parsons will have after he catches a few thrusts kicks from the mysterious Kabuki.

As for the match, Parsons keeps the fans into it the first few minutes by having his way with Kabuki but the Iceman was caught with a martial arts chop as he rushed in a little too quickly. Kabuki now mixes in a few chops and nerve holds to keep Iceman contained. As Iceman tried to regain control Kabuki resorted to a choke hold which ref Scrappy McGowan forced him to break. Gary Hart was all over the ref but Kabuki just seemed to move on. He began to spin around a few times and then stopped and sprayed his mystical green mist high into the air.

Ernie Ladd hyped up the massive Thrust Kick that Kabuki was about to throw but somehow Iceman ducked under it and then came off the ropes and connected with his own finisher; a Big Butt Bump for the victory. This got the crowd really into it and they hoped their good fortune would carry over the rest of the night.

MATCH TIME: 10:21.

WINNERS: Iceman Parsons

_________________________________________________________________________

MIKE VON ERICH & LANCE VONERICH

VS

DEVASTATION INC. (The Iron Sheik & Black Blood with Skandar Akbar)

THE PERSON WHO LOSES MUST LEAVE THE USWA

Just a few weeks ago, nobody would have seen this match coming. Lance was feuding with all of the VonErichs and had in fact put Mike out of commission for a while. Then during the Devastation Inc. Submission Challenge, Mike beat Lance and then the rest of Devastation Inc. turned on Mr. Texas (Lance).

The VonErichs let by gones be by gones and came to the aid of their cousin and now we are at a loser leave town match where Jim Ross and the fans still don’t completely trust Lance. The hated Iron Sheik and his Iranian flag waving and Anti-American propaganda has this Texas crowd all up in arms. The boos change to cheers with the arrival of the two VonErich brothers.

As the match is getting set to start, we see Skandar Akbar go up to Lance and offer him some money. Jim Ross speculates that this is for Lance to once again join Devastation Inc. and leave Mike all alone. The fans are begging him not to turn heel again and their wishes are meet! Lance delivers a huge right hand to Akbar’s head that causes him to crash through the ropes as his Arabian headdress goes flying.

Sheik and Black Blood quickly attack and the match is underway. It is violent and has many back and forth segments. The end came when Mike was taking a pretty could beating and was caught in Black Blood’s dreaded Full Nelson. Nobody has survived this for long and Mike is bent over like a pretzel. He has that VonErich fighting spirit and refuses to give in but he might pass out from the pain.

The only thing that saved him was that Lance rushed in from behind and clobbered Black Blood. The Iron Sheik came in and Lance held nothing back and gave the Sheik some of what he gave Black Blood. Lance dragged Mike over to the corner and then legally tagged himself in. Mike was basically unconscious but it didn’t seem to matter as Lance was like a house afire.

Akbar couldn’t take it any longer and tripped up Lance. Black Blood quickly pounced with a running elbow drop and then tagged in The Sheik who came up from behind and put Lance into the Camel Clutch. With Mike unable to make the save, Lance eventually tapped out. The crowd was in shock as the finally thought the VonErich clan was coming together and now Lance will have to pack his bags.

Devastation Inc. celebrated in the center of the ring as Kerry and Kevin came down to the ring to ensure the safety of their brother and cousin. Lance’s true colors came out again as he shoved Kerry away and hobbled out of the ring alone.

MATCH TIME: 14:41

WINNER: Devastation Inc.-Lance VonErich must leave the USWA

STEEL CAGE MATCH

TOMMY RICH & HACKSAW DUGGAN

VS

DIRTY DICK SLATER & MANIAC MATT BORNE

The steel cage here was erected in order to try and keep this a fair fight on both sides. The USWA hoped to keep Duggan’s 2x4 out of the ring and it was also supposed to keep the Rat Pack’s Enforcer, Loch Ness from getting involved.

As the match progressed it was obvious that this had little to do with wrestling. This was Survival of the Fittest at its best and who would come out on top was anyone’s guess. In the end, we see Rich grinding Borne’s face into the cage and then whip him into the corner where he rushed in with an elbow and then climbed onto the second rope for a bunch of wild right hands that the crowd began to count off. Borne just collapsed and Rich tagged in Duggan who connected with a devastating football tackle. It looked like the match was about to end when all of a sudden the entire cage starts to rock.

Loch Ness was pulling and pushing and doing his best to rip down the entire cage and get into the ring. Jim Ross and Ernie Ladd both wondered if the ring could withstand what the 700 pound monster was doing to it. In the end, the ring and the fan favorites survived a bloody brawl.

Ross really hypes up the continued success of Duggan and Rich but say neither one will be happy until they get their hands on the leader of the Rat Pack, Ted Dibiase.

MATCH TIME: 20:41.

WINNER: Tommy Rich and Hacksaw Duggan

USWA WORLD TAG TEAM MATCH

THE VON ERICHS

VS

THE PERFECT ALLIANCE (Arn Anderson & Bobby Eaton with Baby Doll)

A hard fought back and forth for the first twenty minutes gets really crazy at the end. Bobby Eaton has the advantage over Kevin and thinks he has set him up for the Alabama Jam (Top Rope Elbow Drop) but somehow Kevin gets up and catches him and reverses it into a powerslam. Kevin goes for the pin but Arn rushed in to make the save by clocking Kevin with an elbow to the head. The ref forces Arn out of the ring as both the legal men struggle to get to their feet and make a tag. Eaton gets to Arn first but he isn’t quick enough to stop Kevin from getting to his brother. Kerry comes in like a house afire and is tossing both Arn and Eaton all over the ring. As order is restored, it is Kerry locking in the Iron Claw on the head of Anderson. The camera picks up Baby Doll giving something to Beautiful Bobby who places it inside his elbow pad.

Baby Doll now rushes to the ring apron and starts to berate ref Pee Wee Anderson. This changes his focus from checking for a submission victory for the champs to dealing with Baby Doll. Kevin now gets involved with the argument between Baby Doll and the ref and none of the 3 see Eaton climbing to the top rope.

WHAM!

Alabama Jam off the top rope with the loaded elbow pad. This loud crash got Pee Wee Anderson’s attention but not before Eaton rushed over and clocked Kevin to ensure he couldn’t make a save. Arn covers Kerry.

USWA NORTH AMERICAN TITLE MATCH

JYD VS HACKSAW REED with Skandar Akbar

TEXAS STREET FIGHT

(ANYTHING GOES)

The crowd really pops as Another One Bites the Dust leads the Dog to the ring. He is pumped up and swinging his big dog chain and howling at the moon. Like Hacksaw Reed, the Dog has come out in jeans, a T-shirt and cowboy boots. This feud is white hot and the fans hope their beloved JYD can come out of this with his title. Ernie Ladd has feuded with both these men in the last year but he seems to have zero tolerance for JYD.

As for the match, it is the street fight to end all street fights. Both men have been bloodied and cloths have become a tattered, torn mess. In the end, both men are on the outside of the ring and Reed slams Dog’s head off the time keeper’s bell and then rolled in. Akbar went in and gave the Dog a few blows but this did not prevent the Dog from getting back into the ring. The wild part was that he grabbed his 10 foot dog chain and started swinging it at Hacksaw.

For some reason Bronco Lubich tried to get JYD to put the weapon down. He seemed to forget it was a No Rules Match but this distraction allowed Reed to pick up a head of steam and as soon as the ref moved away….

WHAM!!! Reed hit Dog with a big football tackle.

Reed now takes JYD’s own boot off and starts to beat him in the head with it. Dog is in serious trouble as Reed connects with a big short armed clothesline…

USWA WORLD 6 MAN TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH

ELIMINATION MATCH

THE MIRACLE VIOLENCE COMMITTEE

VS

THE FABULOUS FREEBIRDS

The champs are at a serious disadvantage here in this elimination match as it is only Dr. Death and Manny Fernandez against the 3 Freebirds. Terry Gordy is still out and may actually never return from that eye injury caused by Michael Hayes.

The match is high energy from the get go and the Miracle Violence Committee is holding their own. After about 10 minutes, Dr. Death connects with an Oklahoma Stampede on Buddy Roberts and he is eliminated. With this being 2-2, the crowd seems to relax a bit as they really don’t want to see the Freebirds win the belts.

Unfortunately, Manny Fernandez catches a loaded purse from Precious followed by a Brainbuster by Jimmy Jam Garvin and he was eliminated. It is now two on one and the Freebirds go to town on Dr. Death. Somehow he keeps kicking out at two. Whether it was a Bulldog from Hayes or a Sit-down Jawbreaker from Garvin, Dr. Death was in trouble but refused to be pinned.

All of a sudden, the crowd explodes as Terry Gordy, eyes heavily bandaged, is being escorted to ringside by a security guard. He is guided to Williams’s corner where he cautiously climbs up on to the apron. Jim Ross can’t believe that he is going to try and wrestle tonight even though he is BLIND. Ladd says this is one of the stupidest things he has ever seen.

From out of nowhere, Williams catches Jimmy Garvin with a nasty football tackle and he covers him for a three count. Michael Hayes acts quickly and before Williams can get set, Hayes elbows him in the back of the head. He then whips him into the corner where he rushes in a catches him with a knee to the gut. Hayes signals to the crowd that he is going for his finisher, the Bulldog.

Side Headlock……. Hayes runs towards the center of the ring and leaps with Williams in toe….

WHAM!

BULLDOG!

Everybody is now wondering what will happen and the answer is NOTHING.

Gordy simply stands outside on the apron like he has no idea what to do. Ref Scrappy McGowan goes to Gordy and tells him to either get in the ring or he will be counted out.

McGowan gets to 8 before Gordy gets into the ring.

Michael Hayes is smiling but cautious at the same time. He waves his hands in Gordy’s face…No Reaction!

Hayes circles around Gordy…. No reaction.

Hayes fakes a huge right hand …. No reaction.

Ross is convinces that Gordy is totally blind behind those bandages.

Hayes slaps Gordy across the face…. No reaction.

Jim Ross: “Enough is enough. McGowan needs to stop this match before Gordy gets really hurt.

Hayes throws a huge right hand….. BLOCKED

Hayes throws another huge right hand…. BLOCKED.

Hayes is in shock.

Gordy pulls the bandages off his eyes and simply smiles at Hayes.

Precious leaps up on the apron…..

WHAM…

Gordy knocks her down and stays focused on Hayes who tried to sneak in.

Bam Bam grabs Hayes and Irish Whips him into the ropes.

Maybe the biggest powerslam in the history of wrestling and Gordy covers Hayes.

USWA WORLD TITLE MATCH

3 CORNER MATCH

“THE AMERICAN DREAM” DUSTY RHODES

VS

HARLEY RACE

VS

TED DIBIASE

Ernie Ladd is convinced that Ted Dibiase is the favorite in this match as he is the only one with experience in this type of match where everyone is in the ring at once. Ross doesn’t disagree but says you can never count out the American Dream or Harley Race for that matter.

As the match begins, Race thinks that the obvious plan is for he and Dibiase to work together but Dibiase learned from his last 3 Corner Match to attack anyone who is his way. He knows the only way to gain the victory would be to put both his opponents down. Dibiase is like a man possessed early and it hitting everything in his path. Dusty tries to focus his attention on Race for the most part. In fact, Race is taking it pretty good from both opponents.

Race seemed truly out of place here as every time he thought he had something going, the other guy would attack from behind. He became so frustrated at one point that he threw his hands up in the air and walked out of the ring to gather himself.

When he returned, he was quickly caught with a Bionic Elbow from Rhodes and Race stumbled back into the corner. Dibiase seized the moment and jumped on the back of Rhodes and put him in a sleeper. Desperate to break the hold, Rhodes backed into the corner.

SMASH!

Rhodes and Dibiase hit right into Race. Somehow Dibiase hangs onto the sleeper for 3 more times as Rhodes just keeps crashing into Race in the corner. Finally, Dibiase loses his grip and falls to the ground. Race and Rhodes are also both in trouble. Somehow Harley is up first and connects with a Diving Headbutt to Rhodes. He then picks Dusty up by the hair….

High, High Vertical Suplex……

Race covers Rhodes.

1…

2…

Diving save by Dibiase with an elbow to Race.

Dibiase quickly goes for the Figure 4 on Rhodes and he has it locked in. Rhodes is writhing in pain but won’t give up. Race seems to know that Dibiase is going to have to break Rhodes legs before he will submit so he takes time to recoup.

The Figure 4 is finally broken as Rhodes reaches the ropes. Race turns to Dibiase as he knows Dusty will be out of this match for a minute or two. Double eye gouge on Dibiase allows Race to do what he wants. Race now connects with a big suplex on Dibiase. He scampers up to the top rope and hits a Diving Headbutt on Dibiase.

Jim Ross is sure it is now over and that Race will be the new champion.

1…

2…

Wham… Dusty makes the save with a Diving Bionic Elbow on Race.

Quickly, Rhodes puts Races head between his legs and lifts him up…. Piledriver

Rhodes piledrives Race and then follows it up with a piledriver on Dibiase. He wanted to make sure there would be no more saves. He places one hand on Dibiase and the other hand on Race.

1…

2…

3!

Dusty pins both Race and Dibiase to hold on to his World Title.

MATCH TIME: 28:27.

WINNERS: Dusty Rhodes
