Wrestlemania Weekend 2018

Recommended Posts

So I thought with news starting to come in on matches and cards I would just start a thread for discussion of all the weekends events.

Who all is going? My wife and I are going. I am doing all the WWN stuff Friday (progress, Evolve, supershow, Janela), Progress on Sat. and mania on Sunday. I MAY splurge on second hand tickets for NXT depending on what else I am getting into sat, if I am alive after Friday, and what the card looks like.

Some Cool Stuff Already Announced.

EVOLVE 102 – Thursday, April 5th – 8pm – New Orleans, LA

Daisuke Sekimoto & Munenori Sawa vs. Timothy Thatcher & WALTER

AR Fox vs. Will Ospreay

EVOLVE 103 – Friday, April 6th – 4pm – New Orleans, LA

Matt Riddle vs. Daisuke Sekimoto

WALTER vs. Darby Allin

WWN Supershow – Friday, April 6th – 8pm – New Orleans, LA

Main Event #1 – WWN Championship Match (if Lee is still champion)
Keith Lee defends vs. Daisuke Sekimoto

Main Event #2 – EVOLVE Championship Match (if ZSJ is still champion)
Zack Sabre Jr. defends vs. Munenori Sawa

EVOLVE Tag Team Championship Match (if Catch Point are still champions)
Chris Dickinson & Jaka defend vs. WALTER & Timothy Thatcher

Joey Janela’s Spring Break 2 –Friday, April 6th – Midnight – New Orleans, LA

Joey Janela vs The Great Sasuke

Style Battle S1:Finale – Saturday, April 7th – 8pm – New Orleans, LA

Non-Tournament Match
WWN Champion Keith Lee vs. Nick Gage

Man... already some stuff to get excited about in there.

I am sure there are other shows that have announcements out already too.

Get at me here or shoot me a message if you are interested in meeting up at a show or maybe even knockin back a drink sometime that weekend. I am so excited for this.

I am jealous we didn't get half of these line ups last year.

Remember there's also Matt Riddle's Bloodsport where you can only win via KO or submission on Thursday.

I almost have lost track of which shows were are seeing...

Thursday:

Matt Riddle’s Bloodsport

Evolve

Friday:

Progress

Evolve

WWN Supershow

Saturday:

Pancakes & Piledrivers

CZW

ROH

Then going to Mania on Sunday. Maybe some earlier morning shows, too, if anything pops up that is intriguing.

If you look up the WrestleCon website, I'm sure there's more shows if you want to attend more shows.

Also, last year they began running shows on Tuesday, so if you want to go to other shows during the week, then I'm sure there will be options for that.

We’re getting in on Thursday at about 11, I believe.

I wish I was going to be there in time for Riddle's shoot style show. I don't get in till somewhat later on Thursday. I may try to make the Thursday Evolve show.

The Sat CZW show sounds pretty good too.

Ugh... too much wrestling. What a time to be alive

How does it work with all the indy shows. Like, will they sell out and I need a ticket or will I be able to just go to whatever.

That will depend on the show really. My guess is you could probably find scalpers at all the major ones, but if there is anything you KNOW you want to see I would get tickets in advance. I was in New Orleans for 30 and Dragon Gate was the only show I tried to go to last minute and it was fine. My sense is that the indie shows have become increasingly popular since then and this year they seem to have taken a decent jump in terms of promoting them and int he quality of the cards (my impression), so it wouldn't surprise me if there were more sellouts, at least for the bigger shows. Someone who was at mania last year and went to indie shows might have a better sense of this though.

Last year I attended 5 events (EVOLVE, CHIKARA, Pancakes and Piledrivers, ROH and WM) and even though they weren't sold out -- I don't recommend you purchase tickets at last minute for any show.

The lines to get into the shows themselves are pretty lengthy despite them not being sold out, plus you would have to add in the time you would spend in line to get tickets.

I recommend you grab them directly from their websites.

For the WWN events -- EVOLVE, PROGRESS, SHINE, Kaiju Big Battel, Joey Janela Spring Break Bash, etc. -- You can get them from morethanmania.com

For the other major events -- WrestleCon Supershow, The Crash, Rev Pro, Impact Wrestling, Pancakes and Piledrivers, CZW, etc. -- You can get them from wrestlecon.com

Rumors that Mania 35 will soon be confirmed as taking place in NY. Which means I can probably drag the wife to one or two events and justify flying solo at as many others as I can make time for. Might be able to convince a friend or 2 to go to the big show, but will be quite easy to justify going to almost anything without the added expense of flights & hotels.

Already pumped!

Any word yet on who will be appearing at the Shimmer 100 show on April 7? Debating between that and the CZW show, if I do end up making the trip.

This would be fantastic. I feel like my returning indy addiction would kick into overdrive for this.
