Yeah, that one sucked. It was fun to see some ROH PPV matches on TV monthly.

FWIW, John Pollock on POST Wrestling wrote that he already inquired about Rampage being carried in Canada, as well as the monthly specials.

Exactly. I feel out of following the weekly ROH tv but I would always watch the PPV matches on RDS.

I have to say, I would love to hear Blondin call a Sting match or segment again. That would bring me back to my teen years.

Are they going to rename the TNT Championship?

They could rename it the PFFFT Title.  Probably in their best interests to stay away from TNT or any other combustible or explosive references...

Dustin Rhodes posted a picture of him with Daga and Tessa Blanchard after a training session at the Nightmare Factory. The timing is interesting since Double or Nothing is next weekend. Is there suppose to be a surprise entrant in the casino battle royale?

I am not gonna lie,  i would love to see Tessa is AEW. The women division has improved like crazy lately and she would make it even better. If the roster doesn’t mind having her there (that’s a big if) and Tully and her husband keep her in check, I say why not. The match quality would improve even more.

And so on his podcast, JR said that Randy Orton was the greatest pro-wrestler in the world today. To which Jericho responded that having faced off everyone everywhere, to him Omega was the greatest. To which Omega responded that he'd take the words of Jericho over those of the guy who called him the WWE champion.

L'ambiance est délétère, as we'd say.

Seriously now, how long before something is done about JR and his inability to put over the product he's paid to put over ? I understand he's the established name and it was right at first to sign him for symbolic capital and shit, but really now, just have him do sit-down interviews until his contract runs-up.

Jim Ross est passé date as we say!!

I never understood the hype around JR anyway. He was great in the UWF and Crockett but I found his attitude era stuff to be overrated. The constant yelling was annoying AF. Tony at his best was way better that JR. Tony has the two best call of all time under his belt.

Stick Tony/Wight/Callis on Dynamite and Excalibur/Taz on the new show and let JR go back to the wwe were he wants to be anyway.

Totally agree. JR has some great peaks but he could be unbearable at times too. Tony on day-to-day until he lost the plot in late WCW was always much better to me.

Callis/Excalibur/Schiavone would be the dream team for the current product. The guy who really knows how to put over the current the stuff, the old-school fan-like enthousiastic guy and the super witty and smart heel color guy.

Judging by the graphic show on Elevation yesterday, there seems to be a mystery entrant in the casino battle royale. Last year it was Brian Cage so one would think that this year would be a new wrestle as well. Any guess/predictions/wish? I know it’s not happening but I would loose my mind if it was Nick Gage.

Moxley/Kingston/Gage battling the Elite would get all of my money.

I don't want Joe to go back to TNA ever again. It doesn't matter if there's been multiple regime changes since then. Those last couple of years of his TNA run were so depressing. I don't want him to have to return to the scene of that crime. However I'm also not really interested in him popping up in AEW, either.

How about a crossover from Impact and the mystery guy being Sami Callihan? I do believe that Callihan has history with Mox & Kingston so that would be a good fit.

Sami never crossed my mind. Good call. He would fit well with them.

Speaking of crossover from Impact, I can’t wrap my head around the fact that we have not seen The Bucks against the Motor City Machine Guns in AEW yet.

I posted a variation of this in another thread:

Insane conspiracy theory after Adnan Virk (Raw commentator)'s WWE release: With Jim Ross idiotically calling Randy Orton the best wrestler in the world instead of, ya know, someone from his own fucking company (okay, we'll pretend to appreciate his "honesty"), could Good Ol' J.R. be preparing to move back to WWE? Raw could certainly use someone right about now.

When someone brought up Kenny, I responded with:

Which is why I didn't suggest Kenny as the "alternate answer" because that brings about its own set of controversies and disagreements.

But is it too much to ask for a guy to put his own company over? Apparently so.

J.R. could've said Christian, been 100% correct, and not sounded like he was burying AEW.

Jokes about Christian aside, that would have at least gone with his Out Work Everyone gimmick.

Also it really is stark how someone like Tony Schiavone, who is from the same era as JR, can learn to apricate the modern style to the point his mini feud with MJF is low key one of the best parts of AEW while JR can't even be bothered to say anyone from his company is the best in the world. Especially when every boss JR ever worked for in his life would have lost their shit had he called someone from another company the best in the world.

Cody mentioned on Gamespot's wrestling podcast that his American Dream promo wasn't an on-the-spot comment but the product of weeks of discussion and "focus group" input

Quote

“This is probably gonna sound not cool, because a lot of wrestlers—especially wrestlers from my dad’s era—will lie to you and say, ‘Oh, I just came up with that promo right there on the spot,’ which is bullshit.

“But whatever. I workshop my promos heavily for weeks on end. We have a full focus group for them, as crazy as that sounds. This is a data-based company, so I workshop everything I do. And because my promos have been held to a really high standard—people pick at them and find things in them and they put a microscope on them, which I love.”

If the focus group is his reflection and Brandi then I'd believe that... but WTF? This has to be a work, surely.

Tony Khan said on the Unrestricted podcast today that there will be surprises at DON. Of course, the internet is going crazy. Some of the rumours are awesome, some are so so and some would be downright bad. I hope that they learned their lesson and don’t go over board with the hype on Dynamite. Under hype, over deliver this time please.

He said that there will be new additions to the roster. That’s all well and good, it’s alway cool to see new faces but they need to find something to do with some roster members already there. It’s criminal that Angelico is not used to his full potential.

What system carries TBS but not TNT?

Where I am the basic cable provider is Spectrum (formerly Time Warner, formerly Adelphia...etc etc).  You get TBS with the most basic cable package.  TNT is the next tier up, mainly due to the NBA (ESPN is on this tier, so is USA).  So yeah, at least where I'm at it's a thing....

Am I the only one who thinks the surprise is going to be John Silver?

I hope they've learned by now how to do things right when it comes to this shit.  Debuting Bryan, Joe or F'n Punk in a a stupid battle royale full of geeks would be dumb.  King of the geeks (and I mean this in the best way, Silver is dope) returning in this match would be perfect.  And....he wins and uses it to go after the TNT title and Miro.  And he eliminates Christian to win......first challenger and Christian can be the heel he was born to be....

Probably.

John Silver is not a surprise. He was only gone a few weeks. He's already been back on BTE.

Daniel Bryan in AEW won't ever happen I'm afraid. Also, after the Christian Cage debacle, I'm pretty sure they learned their lesson and won't overhype anything this time.

To me, if the surprise is a new signee, that person needs to win. If you come in at number 21 and get eliminated, you look bad. If it’s a one and done, then it’s not a problem.

I do think that number 21 will be a one time appearance because I am sure, based on past battle royale that Jungle Boy is winning this year. He came close on two different battle royale so smart booking indicates he is not loosing a third one. Plus, it’s time to give him a huge win.
