AEW Double or Nothing

Ok, today's the day. Definitely a polarizing show around here and elsewhere. I'm getting together with friends to split the cost. No way would I drop $50 on this, but I'm sure there will be free streaming options if one is so inclined, doesn't mind less than top quality video, and knows where to look. I'm no big fan of these guys and all their various projects, but I enjoyed what I saw of All In and want to check this out because I'm curious what they plan on showcasing as the alternative to WWE. Should be fun

Cody is great about drumming up interest for his matches but then the matches usually tend to disappoint. Curious to see if he can end his 3-star performances tonight. Dustin is really good, so we'll see.

I assume Omega/Jericho is going to have a lot of bells & whistles, like in Japan, because I don't really trust Jericho to have a great match if it's just moves in a ring anymore. He needs plunder.

Will be cool to see what modern day Aja Kong looks like.

Lucha Bros/Young Bucks is going to be spot city. Like, nothing but. So if you like Pentagon doing his hand sign shit & Superkicks, you'll probably love it. If you like guys kicking out of everything, you'll probably love it. I will probably not be a fan but I'm looking forward to one or two spots that make me say wow or something cool.

Rest of the card I don't really have any expectations one way or the other, so I'm going to keep an open mind. I just hope things go well & when the show is over there's a lot of positive word of mouth & people excited.

It's exciting to think there's a genuine major competitor in wrestling again. I honestly didn't know if we'd ever see this again after WCW folded.  Even if what AEW offers isn't your bag, just having more viable companies that give people places to work and stimulate competition is great for the business.

I got some friends coming over, can't drop the full $50. Expecting a good show and Cody/Dustin might be the dark horse match of the night. From time to time Cody can pull out a hell of a performance.

If he and Dustin can just reenact that Dustin vs Bunkhouse Buck match from Spring Stampede but with Cody playing Dustin I'd be all over it. Someone needs to get hit with a boot.

Yeah, I am most curious to see if Dustin can get a good match out of him.  The only stuff I cared for at all in the hype show was Dustin’s work for this match.  Card as a whole is quite underwhelming but I’ll probably snag this tomorrow and watch it on Monday.

When Jim Ross comes out, that’s my cue to bail.
