Live Event Results, August 19th, Macon, Georgia

“The Patriots” of Terry Daniels and James Wright defeat Jose Lothario and Blue Demon Jr. in 7:57 when Wright pinned Demon Jr. It seems Lothario is a teacher for the young Demon, judging by their interactions in this match.

Tom Prichard and Tim Horner defeated “The Gladiators” in 8:31 when Prichard hit a Top Rope Splash on Gladiator #2. Prichard and Horner debuted matching tights in this match, seemingly implying their teaming is becoming a permanent thing.

David Sammartino & Brutus Beefcake w/ Giant Haystacks defeat Joe Lightfoot and Jules Strongbow in 11:01when Beefcake submitted Lightfoot after Beefcake locked Lightfoot in a Sleeper Hold.

Mr. Saito w/ Miss Doll defeated The Italian Stallion in 8:47 after hitting a Saito Suplex. During the match Killer Karl Krupp made his way down to ringside, but did not interfere, just watching the action. After the match he and Saito had a brief, non hostile interaction before trying to help Stallion to his feet. Stallion would shrug him off, and leave the ring under his own power, seemingly confused by Krupp’s presence.

Jerry Blackwell makes his way down to a chorus of boos, and says for some reason he does not have a match tonight, and demands a challenge. This brings out The Great Kokina, clearly gunning for a fight.

Jerry Blackwell and The Great Kokina fight to a Double Countout in 9:14. Blackwell seemed to go out of his way to help establish the young heavyweight, bumping around for him a good deal. At the end they fight to floor, and can not be separated before the 10 count, nor after. As it took multiple refs to separate the brawling.

Ken Patera w/ Paul Ellering defeated Bret Wayne Sawyer via Submission with the Full Nelson in 15:47. Sawyer was game for a big match, but Patera has been picking up momentum for a while, and seems hard to stop.

Harley Race w/ Paul Ellering defeated Don Muraco w/ Gary Hart in 14:41when Race hit Muraco with a Belly to Belly Suplex, while Muraco was distracted by Ellering and Hart arguing at ringside. Race threatens to attack Gary Hart post Match, and told him that he needs to get out of Georgia for his own safety, as every ally of Ted DiBiase is in danger.

Main Event: 8 Man Tag

“Hacksaw” Butch Reed, Rick Martel, and “The Ebony Express” of Leroy Brown and Ray Candy defeat Kim Duk, Hiro Saito, and Ole and Arn Anderson w/ Mr. Saito and Miss Doll in 26:14 when Rick Martel made Hiro Saito submit to the Boston Crab.

Live Event Results, August 20th, Columbus Georgia

Leroy Brown defeats The Mongol in 5:14 when he hit a Running Corner Avalanche.

The Great Kokina defeats Brutus Beefcake w/ Giant Haystacks in 37 seconds via Pinfall after hitting a Running Splash in the Corner, and immediately followed it up with a Thrust Kick. During the pinfall, Kokina just pointed at Haystacks, clearly wanting to send a message.

David Sammartino defeats Italian Stallion in 12:13 when Sammartino ran Stallion head first into the ring post between the top 2 turnbuckles, leaving Stallion a bloody mess. The ref ruled Stallion was in no condition to compete and ruled Sammartino the winner. Post Match, Killer Karl Krupp once more made an appearance, running off the referees and escorts Stallion to the back, with Stallion in no shape to tell what’s going on.

Tom Prichard and Tim Horner defeat Kim Duk and Hiro Saito w/ Miss Doll when Saito was pinned after he attempted a Top Rope Senton onto Horner, but missed. Horner would lock in a Crucifix pinning combination and score the Pinfall. Duk seemed somewhat upset with Saito after this match, thinking they had the match won before the high risk move.

Mr. Saito w/ Miss Doll defeats Ray Candy when he hit him a Saito Suplex in 8:17.

Rick Martel and Arn Anderson fought to a 30 Minute Time Limit Draw. Another back and forth match between the younger Anderson and Martel once more led to neither man being able to emerge victorious.

”Hacksaw” Butch Reed defeats Ole Anderson in 18:43 via Disqualification when Mr. Saito jumped Reed as he was setting up for a Running Tackle. Ole and Saito would proceed to put the boots to Reed until the Ebony Express and Rick Martel would make the save.

Main Event: Six Man Tag

Harley Race, Jerry Blackwell, and Ken Patera w/ Paul Ellering defeat Ted DiBiase, Don Muraco, and Bret Wayne Sawyer when Patera made Muraco pass out in the Full Nelson in 24:51. A wild brawl all around on this one, leaving almost everyone bloody. Gary Hart was somewhat conspicuous by his absence, as Ellering got many cheap shots in during the match.

Teaming Blue Demon with Lothario is a great idea!

Prichard and Horner are shaping up to be a nice little firey babyface team for you. I can see them going places fast.

Krupp and the Stallion? Interested to see where this goes!

Kokina and Blackwell would be  something to see! Nice rub for Kokina from Blackwell

Man, Paul Ellering in charge of Race and Patera just makes both guys that much scarier.  Gary Hart had best heed his warning.

That's one hell of an 8 man tag to close out the show! It'd send the fans home happy, and be action packed from bell to bell. Nice booking!

Kokina squashing Beefcake to get at Haystacks is a good call. Beefer can play it off as a fluke, Kokina looks dominant and it continues the feud.

Krupp and Stallion is so strange.

HUGE win for Horner and Prichard!!!

Another Martel/Double A classic. I need to find a tape trader in the Georgia area!

Saito still going after Butch at every opportunity. When that singles match comes, it is gonna be a doozy!

What a six man main event!! Hart appears to have taken Harley's advice and split. Muraco gets put out, Dibiase is in trouble. Crazy shit going down in Georgia!! Loving it!

The Patriots pick up another impressive win.

I'm impressed with the Horner/Prichard pairing. Good job here. They get a huge win over Duk and Hiro.

Kokina is rising fast as he goes toe to toe with Blackwell in Macon then SQUASHES Beefcake in Columbus. Haystacks better be ready.

Patera puts down Sawyer. Patera could be a main event player real soon.

Race is rolling as he beats Muraco then tells Hart he better leave the territory for his own safety. Those are chilling words.

I wonder what Krupp has in mind for the Italian Stallion???

I could watch Martel and Arn wrestle forever.

Once again, you continue to do a great job building up the Reed/Saito match. When they finally meet one on one it will bring in nothing but money.

Race/Blackwell and Patera are a true force as they take down Dibiase, Muraco and Sawyer. Did Gary Hart take Race's advice?

Fun house shows!

I must say that I can't wait until the next TV show as I need to know with Krupp was doing in the ring with Saito and then helping Stallion.

Patera seems to be on fire and could be a huge player in the singles scene.

I like seeing Prichard getting a nice run.  I always thought he was pretty underrated

Georgia Championship Wrestling, August 21st , WTBS Studios, Atlanta Georgia

1. Show Opening, Match Announcements, And an Introduction to “The Family”

The Show opens with Tony Schiavone, with highlights of the events at the Omni. Then Jim Barnett joins him and announces multiple big matches based on recent results. Mr. Saito is officially Number 1 Contender for the AWA National Title, and will be getting his title shot shortly. Also, the Andersons will receive a rematch for the Georgia Tag Team Championships against Martel and Armstrong on August 27th. Before they can continue, the crowd starts booing as Harley Race, Paul Ellering, Ken Patera, and Jerry Blackwell make there way to the stage.

Race takes the microphone, and demands to know why Patera doesn’t have an AWA World Title Shot lined up, since Georgia supposedly gives title shots to anyone who defeats a Champion. Barnett informs him that they have yet to see any convincing evidence that DiBiase actually submitted. Race says that the official for the match made the decision due to DiBiase being in no shape to compete, and GCW management agreed to have Race as an official referee. Barnett begrudgingly agrees, and announces Ken Patera has an AWA World Title Shot. Barnett leaves, seeming frustrated.

Schiavone then asks Harley why he betrayed DiBiase, and Harley responds that he never betrayed anyone, and that Ted DiBiase was the one that acted indignant over the favor he had done him. Schiavone is confused, but Race reinforces that Blackwell and Patera didn’t attack Hulk Hogan for no reason. They did it because Race asked them to. And he did it because he respected DiBiase, and thought Hogan needed his ego to be checked. But then DiBiase instead of appreciating what a Race did for him, had thrown it back in his face. Race reveals that he thought DiBiase could be a protege of his, but instead, he has drawn a line in the sand, and now Harley has taken in Blackwell and Patera as members of his “Family”. And right now that Family only has one goal: Make sure Ted DiBiase doesn’t remain AWA World Champion. And he says that he has a message to the Georgia locker room, in that as long as long as they stay uninvolved, they will be left alone. But, just to prove a point, the 3 of us are putting out an open challenge tonight. And if nobody answers it, nobody but DiBiase and his two friends Brett Sawyer and Don Muraco will be targets.

2. DiBiase, Sawyer. And Muraco want “The Family” tonight, and address Gary Hart going missing

After “The Family” made there statement, DiBiase and his allies want to make a statement of there own. DiBiase says he never wanted or needed any help against Hulk Hogan, and that Harley has clearly lost it. He says the guys in the locker room can do what they want, but all of Race, Patera, and Blackwell have a beating coming to them. Schiavone asks why Gary Hart didn’t join him on commentary today, and DiBiase informs him that with the threats to Gary Hart recently, Ted has asked Gary to stay out of Georgia for his own protection. Finally, Schiavone asked about his upcoming title defense against Ken Patera, to which DiBiase says he never gave up against Patera, and as long as he gets him 1 on 1, Patera will simply be overmatched.

3. Mr. Saito & Miss Doll are confident they will take home the National Title.

Mr Saito, Hiro Saito, and Kim Duk defeat Kenneth Johnson, Tyler Ludwig, And Randall Keith in 3:41. Mr Saito was not even on the apron for this match, letting Hiro and Duk do the lifting

Miss Doll once again spends the entire match joining Schiavone, and puts forward that Mr, Saito has been the most dominant wrestler in GCW since his return, and that his title shot is long over due.

4. Announcement of Tag Team Gauntlet, with Arn and Ole Anderson.

Schiavone comes back from a commercial with an exciting announcement for tomorrow in Marietta. The AWA World Tag Team Titles will be defended at the Omni on September 18th, and they will find out the challenger tomorrow night in Marietta! There will be an 8 team tag team gauntlet, with the winner getting an AWA World Tag Team Title Match. This brings out the Andersons, who are pissed at Georgia management, saying Brad Armstrong should never have been allowed to substitute for Les Thornton, nor be allowed to wrestle in GCW regardless. But not only will they win the Gauntlet match in Marietta, they are taking the Georgia Tag Titles back as well.

5. Martel and Armstrong are ready for all comers, but are giving the Andersons their rematch.

Martel and Armstrong come out to a big pop, with the Georgia Tag Team Titles. Martel says the Andersons are dirty for what they did to Les Thornton, but he found someone who hates The Andersons just as much as he does. Schiavone asks Armstrong how his commitments as AWA Light Heavyweight Champion will affect his reign, and Armstrong says he will be be in Georgia defending three titles as often as he can.

6. The Family’s Open Challenge is answered, and chaos reigns

Harley and his “Family” make their way to the ring for their open challenge, which is answered first by National Champion “Hacksaw” Butch Reed, much to the anger of Race. But before anyone can react to that too strongly, he is joined by the Georgia Tag Champions Rick Martel and Brad Armstrong!

“Hacksaw” Butch Reed, Rick Martel, and Brad Armstrong defeat Harley Race, Ken Patera, and Jerry Blackwell by Disqualification in 10:32 when Mr. Saito and his allies ran in an attacked Butch Reed.

This totally degrades from there, as while the Family is attacking Martel and Armstrong in the ring, Saito and his allies destroying Reed on the floor when the Ebony Express run down, starting a huge brawl on the floor. While The Family are distracted by that, Martel and Armstrong start to get the upper hand, until they are jumped by the Andersons! The 5 on 2 beat down in the ring lasts for a bit before DiBiase, Muraco, and Sawyer run down and even the fight! The Andersons take this moment to make a run for it, leading to a big brawl between DiBiase and his allies against a Race’s Family, as the show ends.

Other Notes

Tom Prichard and Tim Horner defeat Kenny Andrews and The Georgia Peach in 3:12. Post Match Prichard and and Horner tell Schiavone they plan on becoming a full time tag team, and say they are going to go by “The Wonders”

Killer Karl Krupp defeats Johnny Rodz in 2:37. Krupp is asked about the injuries sustained to Italian Stallion, and Krupp says that he has someone taking care of Stallion.

Saito/Reed and an Anderson's rematch announcement is a fantastic way to start the show!

Digging the Race, Patera, Blackwell trio. A very dangerous grouping that is going to cause a lot of trouble for everyone.

Good explanation for Hart leaving, and I like you keeping Dibiase as a babyface here while nearly everyone else uses him as a heel.

Saito letting his henchmen do the dirty work is an awesome touch! Really looking forward to Reed/Saito

Tag Team Gauntlet should be fun, and The Andersons should enjoy beating up a bunch of other teams!

Awesome, Awesome show close! That brawl shows what a fantastic roster you've put together and you've got some really great feuds going on that are all intertwined just enough that you can do this kind of crossover and it makes perfect sense!

Live Event Results, August 22nd, Marietta Georgia

Gauntlet Match for an AWA World Tag Team Title Shot

Match 1: “The Patriots” of Terry Daniels and James Wright vs. “The Gladiators” of Gladiators #1 and #2

Unlucky draws for both teams, as they would have to run the full gauntlet in order to get title shot. Both teams seem to be trying to play the pacing game, and each try to keep someone in there corner to try to save there energy, but eventually Terry Daniels scores a Sunset Flip on Gladiator #1 to score the fall

Winner via pinfall in 8:16, The Patriots

Match 2: The Patriots vs. Arn and Ole Anderson

The Andersons make there way down to the ring and they are seemingly angry as all hell about this draw, and are quick to jump on the Patriots. And the Patriots don’t really seem to have an answer at all on this one. Ole ends up submitting Wright with a Figure 4 pretty quickly

Winner via Submission in 4:12: The Andersons

Match 3: The Andersons vs. Jules Strongbow and Joe Lightfoot

Strongbow and Lightfoot don’t have a big advantage, but they are fresh and trying to make a statement. And they do a good job going high energy in the early going, but Arn and Ole are masters at their craft, and there craft is turning a tag match into a handicap. Eventually Lightfoot gets caught, and the Andersons are very aggressive, trying to end this quickly. And they manage to succeeding, cutting off Lightfoot completely leading to an Arn Gordbuster, that gets the 3, with Strongbow barely getting into the match at all.

Winner via Pinfall in 7:14: The Andersons

Match 4:: The Andersons vs. “The Wonders” of Tom Prichard and Tim Horner

Prichard and Horner come down high fiveing fans, while The Andersons look more amused then anything, with the two pretty boys going against the much more grizzled team. And Prichard and Horner get some nice offense in the early going before the Andersons once more take advantage. Eventually Arn goes for a Gordbuster on Tim Horner, but Horner counters into a cradle that gets the 3 count

Winners via pinfall in 6:14: The Wonders.

The Andersons however take great offense at this, and jump Horner after the fall. Prichard tried to come his defense, but got taken out quickly. At the end of the beatdown Ole locks Horner in the Figure 4 whole Arn stomps on his Knee. By the time they are done Horner has to be taken to the back, just as there next opponents make there way down

Match 5: The Wonders vs. David Sammartino and Brutus Beefcake w/ Giant Haystacks

Prichard is offered before the match the chance to forfeit in order to not deal with the impromptu handicap match, but Prichard refuses, no matter the likelihood. But overall Sammartino and Beefcake basically play with there food on this one, and actually seem to be taking there time, enjoying a chance to put a beatdown on. However, the arrogance almost bites them, as Beefcake fails to apply the Sleeper only for Prichard to lock in a sleeper of his own! Sammartino panics and tries to attack, but Prichard throws Brutus away and hits a Superkick! Before Prichard can take advantage however, Beefcake rolls him up and scores the 3 count

Winners via Pinfall in 8:02: Sammartino and Beefcake

Match 6: Sammartino And Beefcake vs. “The Ebony Express” of Leroy Brown and Ray Candy

Sammartino is still checking his jaw from the Superkick, with Haystacks paying attention to him, while Brown and Candy get to the ring as quickly as they can. Beefcake is still celebrating his victory in the corner, but turns around straight into an Splash in the corner from Candy, just as the match gets underway! Candy immediately go for a cover, and by the time Sammartino realizes what has went down, his team is already eliminated!

Winners via Pinfall in 8 seconds: The Ebony Express

Match 7: The Ebony Express vs. Kim Duk and Hiro Saito w/ Miss Doll

And the Gauntlet comes down to two rivals. And this match doesn’t have much formula to it for a while, with the power of the Express against the striking game of the Japanese duo. Eventually Duk and Saito hold advantage, and beat on Candy for a while. Eventually though he makes the comeback and tags in Brown, and things go crazy. Hiro Saito scores what looks to be a knock out kick, but instead he goes up top for a Top Rope Senton... but the risk doesn’t pay off, as the Senton misses, and Brown immediately hits a Running Splash, that gets 3!

Winners of the Gauntlet Match: The Ebony Express

Giant Haystacks vs. The Great Kokina

The two monsters waste no time getting straight to it, as this has been building for a long time. The brawl goes all over the place, and it looks like this might go to a Double Count Out, but both manage to get back in. Finally though, Haystacks goes for a big strike only for Kokina to dodge, and hit a Thrust Kick that topples the mountain! The cover finally gives Kokina his elusive Pinfall victory.

Winner via Pinfall in 6:13: The Great Kokina

Ken Patera w/ Paul Ellering  vs. Don Muraco

Another Grudge Match here, and Patera have gone down this rout before. Though this time Patera seems to have a ton of momentum were as Muraco seems to be struggling a bit. And to nobody’s surprise this one degenerates into a bloody brawl, with Muraco seemingly finally starting to get a lasting upper hand here. But Patera is just on a roll, and when Muraco is trying to set up for his Inverted Piledriver, Patera slides out the back, and quickly applies the Full Nelson. Muraco refuses to give up, but eventually loses consciousness.

Winner via Submission in 13:42: Ken Patera

Main Event Six Man Tag

Ted DiBiase, “Hacksaw” Butch Reed, and Rick Martel vs. Harley Race, Jerry Blackwell, and Mr. Saito w/ Paul Ellering and Miss Doll

A complete war in the main event, as DiBiase seems to have pulled in some of the top wrestlers he can find for his war on Race’s Family, which has just led to Saito getting involved to try wear down the National Champion. This match goes as in spite of the good guys holding advantage for the first 8 minutes, though Ted never is able to get his hands on Harley, as Race seems to be acting more as a general in this match early. And it seems to pay off as Race and his allies took control, working over Martel and then Reed for a long run. Eventually Reed manages to get free from Race and Tag  in DiBiase as the crowd goes wild! Eventually this turns into a pier six brawl all over the area, which leaves Martel and Blackwell as the legal men, as Race and DiBiase brawl away in one area and Reed and Saito brawl off in another. Martel looks to be trying to put the match away, setting for the Slingshot Splash, when Miss Doll tosses what appears to be Salt into his face! The referee immediately calls for the DQ, as everything continues to degrade from there

Winners via Disqualification in 27:50: Ted DiBiade, Butch Reed, and Rick Martel

Very well written gauntlet match and the Ebony Express was a good choice.  You have created some really fun midcard teams that will help to carry your cards.

Patera with a clean win over Muraco could mean big things for Patera as he seems poised to start see some main event action.

Main event was fun and helped to continue some of your angles.

Loved the tag gauntlet matches! The Wonders get the upset of the night over the Andersons. Ebony Express win it all and get the shot against the Movement. Very interesting.

Kokina finally gets the pin on Haystacks.

Patera is on a tear! Looks strong with that win over Muraco.

Wild 6 man tag involving all the big feuds.

Man, Dibiase's reign might be in trouble with both Race and Patera coming after him.

You're doing a great job with Georgia. I like teams and alliances you have put together.

Like what you're doing with Italian Stallion and Krupp. It's such an odd pairing but that's what I love about this game.

The mysterious blonde man strikes again, spoiling Checkmate's debut.

The Family is wrecking havoc! I don't know if they can be stopped.

Awesome main event as Race helps the Andersons beat Martel and Armstrong. If this leads to some Race/Martel matches then I'm all for it!

The actions was really good. Anderson vs. Horner is always a treat on any show.

Mr. Torture turns on Hiro Saito. He got what he had coming. Next time he may throw a boulder through his front window... McDonalds anyone?

Tough loss for the Checkmate who didn't get to showcase his true talent. That darn blond haired man.

Just a bit of advice from a booking standpoint. This most recent show featured 5 tag matches, three of them 6-man tags, and all 5 tag matches were right in a row. Maybe try and separate it up a little so it doesn't feel repetitive to your spectators/readers.

Georgia Championship Wrestling, August 28th, WTBS Studios, Atlanta, Georgia

1. DiBiase is fed up with The Family and their attacks

Ted DiBiase defeats Blue Demon Jr. w/ Jose Lothario In 5:16 when he submitted Demon with a Figure 4.

DiBiase:  No matter how many times we go though this song and dance, it seems like Race and his family keep coming in and attacking when it’s opportune. I think I speak for everyone in this company who says they are sick of it! Muraco is out, but I’ve been looking for anyone that would be willing to take down Harley. And I might have found a couple boys ready to give it a go! So how about next week, any two of your boys will face two men hand picked by me!

2. The Ebony Express has revenge on their mind

Ray Candy and LeRoy Brown defeat The Gladiators in 4:51 when Brown hit a Corner Splash on Gladiator #2

Brown: A date with destiny, Tony, we have a date with destiny! And not only do we have a chance to become AWA World Tag Team Champions, but we have a chance to right a wrong! You see Tony, me and this bad boy Ray here, we made some baaaad decisions, and fell in line with a baaaad man. And that bad man threw us to the curb the moment he got some new toys to play with. And then just this last week that bad man and his new toys took down the Road Warriors! So, Tiger Conway, you betta count ya blessings, cause you might have gotten those titles, but you have two ghosts from your past coming for you, and we are gonna exercise some demons, brotha!

3. The debut of the Pringle Dynasty

David Sammartino and Brutus Beefcake w/ Giant Haystacks and the mystery blonde man defeat The Patriots in 3:02 when Beefcake submitted Daniels with the Sleeper

Sammartino: I’m gonna be blunt Tony, Me and my friends here hadn’t been in the best run lately. But that’s gonna chance now, cause I used every cent I could from my deadbeat father had given me, and hired the best manager I could get! So allow me to introduce the man who is going to make sure this Superstation Title becomes the most prestigious title in the country, one Percy Pringle!

4. Rick Martel is fired up at the Family

Martel: You know, me and Brad were ready for a war with the Andersons, and they gave us one, and that would be all well and good, but Harley Race decided to get involved in our business. Well now you pulled me into your wars Harley, and I’m gonna do everything in my power to run you and your boys out of Georgia!

5. The Andersons are as arrogant as ever

Arn Anderson defeats Joe Lightfoot in 6:17 after hitting a Spinebuster

Ole: First off Tony, I just want to say me and Arn had no idea that Harley Race was gonna attack Rick Martel during our Title Match, but let me just put this on record: thank you Mr. Race. I’ve always respected you and can get behind anyone who has it in for that cowardly frenchy. And now that I’ve been assured the Armstrong’s will once again not be back in Georgia, the Andersons are gonna go back to proving what everyone has known all along, that we are the best tag team in the world.

6. Reed and Saito are on for September 3rd

Mr. Saito defeats Jose Lothario in 9:41 when he pinned Lothario after a Saito Suplex

Miss Doll: Mr. Saito has worked incredibly hard to get his shot at Butch Reed, and his National Title. He has sent many men packing out of Georgia, from enemies to men who tried to cling onto his success like Hiro. Well, on the 3rd, everything will come to a head, and the National Title will finally go to the man it is supposed to be on!

I love that Harley Race has pretty much become the Godfather of Georgia, and everyone is either gunning for him, or paying him respect.

Saito is so hyper focused on Reed. He is either going to run him over, or cost himself his chance.

Pringle managing the David/Beefcake/Haystacks faction is a great addition.

Candy and Brown calling out their old pals The Movement. I am looking forward to that one!
