Twin States Wrestling Episode #17

Saturday November 7, 1985

From the WTVY Ch. 4 Studio in Dothan, Alabama

airing LIVE at Noon on WTVY Channel 4 and on tape

on stations throughout Alabama and Mississippi at various times

Host/Play by Play: Charlie Platt

Co-Host/Color Commentator: Ronnie P. Gossett

Interviewer: Joe Pedicino

Ring Announcer: Rick Stewart

(Show opens with a montage of Twin States Wrestling footage with a voiceover saying "Welcome to Twin States Wrestling bringing you the best professional wrestling action from across Alabama and Mississippi sanctioned by the USWA", we then go to our hosts Charlie Platt and Ronnie P. Gossett)

Platt: "Hello wrestling fans and welcome to Twin States Wrestling, what a night of action HELLoween was last Saturday night as we saw "Candy Man" Ray Candy lose to Big Bubba and  he has been forced to leave the territory, thanks to the loaded black glove of Don Carson."

RPG: "Minor details, Platt…..the main thing is Ray Candy will be waddling his way into another promotion now and we won't have to watch his horrible attempt at dancing anymore."

Platt: "Well, I happened to enjoy his dancing and the fun he brought to the program, none the less, We'll see a rematch here on television today as the Dynamite Duo of Norvell Austin and Larry Hamilton will take on Ron Wright's team of Steve Strong and the Angel of Death."

RPG: "Well I was surprised the Dynamite Duo survived the match last Saturday and I'm confident that Steve Strong and the Angel of Death will put them down for good here today."

Platt: "Tensions finally boiled over between Jimmy Golden and Jimmy Garvin, causing Garvin to walk out costing his team the match against Blackjack Mulligan, Jerry Brisco, and Jimmy Valiant."

RPG: "Just so you know before you come out here stirring things up, Johnny V being the incredible manager he is…..he let me know when I arrived here today that he has smoothed everything over with the Dream Team and Jimmy Garvin and to prove it they will be in six man tag team action here today on television."

Platt: "If you say so, but I'm a bit skeptical myself, speaking of things boiling over….how about that cowardly attack by the Violent Gentlemen on Brad Armstrong and Wendell Cooley after that classic tag team championship match they had?"

RPG: "Loved it! I was starting to worry about those two lately but they showed me once again why they are the greatest tag team in pro wrestling today and I'm sure they will have plenty to say about it when they join us here later today."

Platt: "There's more to talk about from HELLoween but right now we've got a Ugandan Headhunter headed to the ring so let's go there now."

=================

MATCH #1:
Handicap Match

Kamala w/Friday & Ron Wright pinned Jed Jackson/Leonard Washington after the stacked them on top of each other and came off the top rope with a splash

Platt: "I'd like to welcome Joe Pedicino to Twin States Wrestling, let's go to Joe right now who is joined by Ron Wright, Friday, and Kamala."

Pedicino: "Ron Wright, Kamala managed to get a win over Bob Armstrong in the Ugandan Death match last week, but 'Bullet' Bob managed to walk out of the arena."

Wright: "Bob Armstrong is done….finished….yesterday's news.  I'm out here right now to tell you that we're moving on."

Pedicino: "I think that may be a little presumptuous to think that one loss is going to do Bob Armstrong in."

Wright: "It's not the one loss….it was the THREE splashes that did him in….but enough about that guy.  I have set Kamala's sights on someone else…..Kamala is going to make us ten thousand dollars richer by taking out Blackjack Mulligan, tonight at the Houston County Farm Center, Kamala faces Mulligan and he's going to take out Blackjack just like he took out Armstrong."

Pedicino: "While I have you here, do you have a comment about the Sawyer's loss to the Nightmares in the steel cage match last week?"

Wright: "I tell ya what Mr. wise guy, how about you call Buzz Sawyer out here and ask HIM….if he has any comments about losing to the Nightmares!" (Wright and company storms off)

MATCH #2:

The Dynamite Duo (Larry Hamilton/Norvell Austin) defeated Angel of Death/"Sadistic" Steve Strong w/Ron Wright when Hamilton pinned AOD with a sunset flip off the top rope

As the Dynamite Duo are celebrating their victory with the studio audience, Brett and Buzz Sawyer come storming out to the desk, Buzz Sawyer grabs the mic away from ring announcer Rick Stewart.

Buzz: "Listen up punks! You two may have gotten lucky and snuck a win over those two……but you know there's no way in hell you could beat me and my brother here…..so we're issuing a challenge to you two to face us tonight right here in Dothan!"

(Joe Pedicino takes a mic over to where Austin/Hamilton are)

Norvell: "Buzzy, we may not be Danny Davis and Kenny Wayne…..but if you step in the ring with us….we will be a NIGHTMARE for you, what do you think, Larry?"

Hamilton: "A match against the Sawyers? Tonight? Well that sounds DYNAMITE!"

(Their Jermaine Jackson 'Dynamite' theme starts playing as the Sawyers are escorted out of the studio by security)

=================

Platt: "So, Ronnie….I'm a bit saddened to announce that today will be our last day here in the studio in Dothan as starting next week we'll be doing the television show in the arenas in each week.

RPG: "What? I've got to go be around even more of these mouth breathers?"

Platt: "Well, that's not a nice way to refer to the Sawyers."

RPG: "I was talking about these ignorant fans, Platt!"

Platt: "That's uncalled for…..but at any rate…..there's some changes coming here at Twin States, all positive I might add and right now let's go to a VTR of Les Thatcher sitting down with new co-owner Jerry Jarrett at his ranch over in Hendersonville, Tennessee."

(VTR- Jerry Jarrett and Les Thatcher are sitting at a conference table, the Gulf Coast Championship belt is sitting in front of them)

Thatcher: "Hello Twin States fans, I'm here in Tennessee meeting with Jerry Jarrett discussing some of the exciting changes that are coming for Twin States Wrestling and rather than me telling you all about it, I believe I'll let Jerry tell you."

Jarrett: "Thanks Les. Fans we're very excited to do everything we can to bring you the very best wrestling action in the world today. Moving forward you'll not only get the chance to see the great stars of Twin States Wrestling but Twin States will also serve as a showcase for stars from throughout the USWA.  Much like in my promotion, I feel we've moved beyond the studio wrestling days so starting next week this television program you're watching right now will be taking place in the arenas across the territory. There will be some very big USWA events coming up in the future and you'll be proud to know that Twin States stars will be featured on these events and you fans will be able to watch the events on closed circuit television at specific locations in your area.  I plan on being on hand in Birmingham this Wednesday at the first television tapings and I look forward to seeing many of you there.  I'm also working very closely with Les Thatcher to try and find out just who exactly has placed this bounty on Blackjack Mulligan, we've had a similar situation here in the USWA involving Carlos Colon….but we know whose behind that, however we don't know who it is that is trying to take out Blackjack Mulligan but we are doing everything we can to get to the bottom of it."

(END VTR)

MATCH #3:

Twin States Tag Champions The Violent Gentlemen (Bill Dundee/George Barnes) defeated Randy Watson/Eddie Wilson when Dundee pinned Wilson after a 'Bombs Away' splash from the top rope

(Post match: Gossett cuts off Pedicino and heads over to speak to the champs)

RPG: "Guys, I just want you to know that Charlie Platt was out here bad mouthing you about what you did to Cooley and Armstrong last week."

Dundee: "What is there to complain about? We don't call ourselves the Perfect Gentlemen…..we shook their hands like gentlemen…..and then….we got VIOLENT….you see, Platt…..VIOLENT GENTLEMEN…as advertised, baby!"

Barnes: "Platt, you stupid yank! You are as dumb as that wannabe Cowboy and that idiot son of Bob Armstrong….did you all think because we teamed with that Brisco bloke that we were suddenly nice guys? Well that's on you….you stupid Americans! You think everybody has to fit in your simple little 'good guy' or 'bad guy' boxes…..well guess what….we don't care what the fans like….we don't care what the promoters like….and we sure as hell don't care what Charlie Platt likes….we do what we want….when we want….and how we want…..to whoever we want….and the only side we're on is OUR SIDE!"

RPG: "Word is that Armstrong and Cooley are demanding a title shot tonight."

Dundee: "Demanding a title shot? Who are they to demand anything from the champs? They had their shot last week, they didn't beat us….they go to the back of the line! No title shots for them!"

(Armstrong and Cooley make their way out to the interview area as security get between the two teams)

Cooley: You know, I'd expect nothing less from a couple of cowards who shake somebody's hand and then attacks them when their backs are turned…..I'll tell you what, at this point those titles are secondary….Brad and I mostly just want a chance to get our hands on you two…..so I'll tell you what…you face us in our kind of match and if we beat you, then we get another title shot…..but if you beat us in our kinda match, we'll never team together again."

Dundee: "So no titles on the line…..and WHEN….not IF but WHEN we beat you, you two can never team up ever again? What kinda match?"

Armstrong: "Southern Street Fight!"

Barnes: (laughing) "You bloody yanks are a special kinda stupid aren't ya? You two want a street fight with us??"

Cooley: "Did he stutter, jerk? Yeah, a Southern Street Fight! Do you accept or are you two the cowards you showed yourselves to be last week when you had to jump us from behind!"

Dundee: "YES…we accept! All I can say is you better have someone film this match and take a lot of pictures so you can remember the LAST time you ever teamed together!"

=======================

MATCH #4:

USWA Southern Jr. Champion Scott Armstrong pinned "Little" Ned Navarro following a superkick

(As Armstrong leaves the studio, Don Carson makes his way out to the interview area with TNT, Big Bubba, and The Mongolian Stomper…….Carson tells everyone that Mulligan won't make it to the match with Kamala tonight because Big Bubba is going to take him in today's main event on tv.  He also says that TNT will be taking that Jr title from Scott Armstrong tonight as well.  Carson goes on to say that since the Mongolian Stomper has beaten Mulligan and ran Ron Fuller out of Twin States, there's no one here who presents a serious challenge to him….so tonight to make things interesting, the Stomper is going to go to the ring and issue an open challenge to any wrestler that wants to step through those ropes and challenge him!)

RPG: "Charlie Platt, that's a pretty good card I must admit, but did you hear what happened recently?"

Platt: "I guess not please enlighten me."

RPG: "My good, close personal friend and not to mention one of the most talented and athletic wrestlers to ever grace a wrestling ring, Mr. Carl Fergie….won the lottery!!"

Platt: "What?? Fergie won the lottery??"

RPG: "YES! 4.6 million dollars!"

Platt: "You've got to be kidding me!"

RPG: "Nope, I don't kid about that much money, and I certainly don't kid about the greatest professional wrestler of this generation or any other, 'Mr. Money' Carl Fergie."

('For the love of money' by O'Jays plays in the studio as Fergie who is wearing a three piece suit and his entourage enter the studio)

RPG: "Accompanied by his butler, Frank Morrell and his bodyguard/head of security 'Mr. Moffat', I'm proud to introduce a legend in our time, 'Mr. Money' Carl Fergie." (Frank Morrell is wearing a tuxedo with tails and has a white towel folded over his arm, while 'Mr. Moffat' is wearing sunglasses and an all black suit and seems to be clearing a perimeter around Mr. Fergie who reaches into his pocket and seemingly slips some cash to Gossett)

Fergie: "There you go, Ronald….a little something for your troubles, thank you for that spectacular introduction that Rick Stewart or Joe Pedicino would have surely fouled up if given the chance.  First of all, I just want all my fans to know that this money won't change me, I will remain the same humble competitor that I've always been in the ring.  Now obviously with the amount of wealth I've recently acquired, I could just buy Twin States Wrestling and make myself the top star and the champion.  However, I'm better than that….I will continue to compete to the best of my ability and I will do my best to make not only Twin States Wrestling but everyone involved with the USWA better….just by having me associated with the brand.  Now Ronald, if you'll excuse me I have an early tee time tomorrow so I must bid you adue, ta ta." (Morrell places a cigar in Fergie's mouth and lights it for him as 'Mr. Moffat' begins to clear a path back out of the studio, Fergie then somewhat discreetly slips Gossett some more cash as they exit the studio to an awaiting limosine outside)

RPG: "Mr. Carl Fergie is a legend and I can't wait to see his re-debut here in Twin States very soon!"

Platt: "What the heck just happened here??"

=======================

(Before the next match, Luscious Johnny V joins Joe Pedicino at ringside)

Pedicino: "Mr. Valiant, Ronnie Gossett says you've assured him that all the dissension that has plagued your stable as of late has been resolved but I have to ask if that's the case why are they not out here with you for this interview?"

JV: "First of all, I'm the manager….it's my job to do the talking….they aren't out here right now because they are preparing for their match and they know I'm more than capable of answering your questions.  Now let's talk about something else right now! Jerry Jarrett has never liked me so it can't be a coincidence that the first show after he weasels his way into power here that I'm suddenly forced to actually wrestle in a match tonight….this is an outrage and that's all I have to say about any of it. Good day to you Joe Pedicino!"

---------------------------------------

MATCH #5:

Robert Fuller/Jimmy Golden/Jimmy Garvin w/Luscious Johnny V  defeated Chris & Mark Youngblood/Shane Douglas when Garvin pinned Douglas after a 'Brainbuster'…..besides the tags between Garvin on Golden being kinda "stiff", the team seemed to be on the same page

Twin States Wrestling

Houston County Farm Center

Dothan, Alabama

Saturday November 7, 1985

Bell Time: 7:30pm

Bill Ash vs. Shane Douglas

Before the bell can ring to start the match, 'For the love of money' by the O'Jays plays as Carl Fergie and company make their way down the aisle, Fergie is wearing a black robe with gold sequins that would make Ric Flair blush that says 'FERGIE' in gold on the back. Frank Morrell goes over to the ring announcer and hands him an envelope and gives him some instructions, as Fergie is seen slipping some cash to Bill Ash who counts it and then smiles big and slips it into his trunks and exits the ring, Mr. Moffat backs the referee into a corner as seems to be telling him something very sternly as the ring announcer says, "There's a substitution tonight as 'Mr. Money' Carl Fergie will be taking the place of Bill Ash in our opening bout." Fergie removes the robe to reveal green trunks that say 'Mr. Money' across the back in white.

"Mr. Money" Carl Fergie w/Frank Morrell & Mr. Moffat pinned Shane Douglas after a running knee lift that he calls, 'the payoff'!

Angel of Death/"Sadistic" Steve Strong w/Ron Wright defeated Chris/Mark Youngblood when Strong pinned Chris Youngblood after a running powerslam

USWA Southern Jr. Heavyweight Championship

Scott Armstrong pinned TNT w/Don Carson following a superkick

SPECIAL CHALLENGE MATCH

The Dynamite Duo (Larry Hamilton/Norvell Austin) defeated Brett/Buzz Sawyer w/Ron Wright when Austin pinned Brett with a school boy roll up!  The fans erupted! So did Buzz Sawyer as he blasted Norvell from behind with the chain as the referee was raising his hand, he then clotheslined Larry Hamilton with it as he attempted to run in the ring…..the Sawyers beat down the Dynamite Duo and left them laying in the ring

EIGHT MAN TAG TEAM MATCH

Jerry Brisco/Jimmy Valiant/The Nightmares defeated Robert Fuller/Jimmy Golden/Jimmy Garvin/Luscious Johnny V when Brisco made Johnny Valiant submit to the figure four leglock after Fuller and Golden walked in the middle of the match after a shouting match with Garvin, who then later walked out while Johnny V was submitting to the figure four

$10,000 Bounty Match

Blackjack Mulligan

vs.

Kamala w/Friday & Ron Wright

Before the match, Ron Wright came down to the ring and said that he's having trouble getting Kamala down to the ring for the match because Friday as gone missing and no one can find him…..Wright heads back up the aisle…..Mulligan makes his way to the ring and after a few minutes Wright finally re-emerges with Kamala reluctantly in tow……after a couple of more minutes of Wright pleading with Kamala to get in the ring and Kamala looking confused, Mulligan jumps out to the floor and attacks Kamala and throws him into the ring….the bell rings and the match has begun! This is just a hard hitting brawl that goes on for several minutes back and forth until Mulligan backs up to hit the ropes but is tripped by Wright, allowing Kamala to hit a big splash on BJM…..however without Friday there to direct him, Kamala does not cover him for the pin, instead he starts to climb up to the top rope for the really big splash when suddenly Friday finally appears at ringside…..he starts frantically waving his arms in a "NO NO NO" fashion…causing Kamala to stop right as he was getting ready to jump off on Mulligan….Friday gets up on the apron pointing for Kamala to get down off the ropes….Kamala seemingly confused by this is just kind of frozen there as Friday implores him to get down off the ropes…….while this is happening Mulligan has gotten back to his feet, he rushes the corner and manages to SLAM KAMALA off the top turnbuckle…everyone in the arena get on their feet as Mulligan covers…..1….2…3!!   Mulligan has pinned Kamala and the fans are thrilled as Mulligan exits the ring, Friday gets in the ring and is met by Ron Wright who shoves him hard, causing Friday to hit Wright with a big right hand knocking him on his ass……Kamala looks shocked as he approaches Friday who then kicks him in the groin and comes around behind him and locks him in a SLEEPERHOLD!! After about a minute Kamala is out! Wright comes at Friday again and he blasts him again laying him out…..Friday then removes his jacket revealing a 'Golds Gym' t-shirt, then removes the mask to reveal….."BULLET" BOB ARMSTRONG!! The crowd goes wild!!

SEMI-MAIN EVENT

TAG TEAM SOUTHERN STREET FIGHT

Brad Armstrong/"Wildcat" Wendell Cooley defeated The Violent Gentlemen (Bill Dundee/George Barnes) in wild bloody streetfight when Cooley pinned Barnes after bulldogging him on a steel chair that Dundee had brought into the ring, after the match Cooley grabbed the mic and said that, "NOW we want another shot at those titles!"  Barnes and Dundee left ringside with the belts shaking their heads 'no' as the crowd boo'd them all the way down the aisle.

MAIN EVENT
Twin States Heavyweight Championship

Don Carson/The Mongolian Stomper's

OPEN CHALLENGE

Don Carson and the Mongolian Stomper come down to the ring and Carson starts a long winded promo how the Stomper has beaten Mulligan, Ron Fuller, and everyone else who has crossed his path and that no one who was on this show tonight can beat the Stomper but if there's any wrestler in this building tonight that wants a try…..here's your chance for title match….right here…..right now!   The crowd is stirring when suddenly a shiny head can be seen coming down the aisle as they get closer to the ring the fans can see it's an old favorite that hasn't been seen in this area in over a year…..MR. OLYMPIA!!  Olympia steps into the ring and before he can get his ring jacket off the Stomper charges him!  The bell rings and this title match is off and running, Stomper hits him with some clubbing forearms and then backs Olympia into the ropes and shoots him off….Stomper ducks down to give him a backdrop when out of nowhere, Olympia hits him with a DDT!!  Olympia quickly hooks both legs for a 1-2-3!!!

Mr. Olympia has won the Twin States Championship in his debut without even getting his ring jacket off!! He rolls out of the ring as the ring announcer hands him the belt and he goes out into the crowd to celebrate as Don Carson is losing his mind in the ring and the Stomper is holding his head struggling to get back to his feet.

Another exciting week in Twin States!

Kamala continues to destroy everything in his path.

Sawyers are still pretty pissed about losing to the Nightmares and have now targeted the Dynamite Duo.

Twin States is really helping the USWA get to the national scale. I like the idea of doing TVs in different arenas each week. It's such a great idea, Jarrett might have to do the same for USWA TVs LOL. I also like that Jarrett is really making his presence known here. It shows he really believes in this.

The Violent Gentlemen accept Cooley and Brad's challenge. They may think this sounds great but Cooley and Brad are pretty damn furious, so they're going to be hard to beat.

Scott Armstrong is representing the USWA well. I need to bring him in for some title defenses asap.

HAHAHAHAHA! Fergie wins the lottery! Oh man this was one of the best things I've read. Fergie has a new theme song, a new look, a bodyguard and butler. This is pure gold! I always liked writing for Fergie. There's just something about the guy that can pull off a gimmick like this. Genius idea Gene!

I'm still sensing a lot of tension between Golden and Jimmy Jam.

Looks like it's going to take a lot more bounty money to get the job done on Blackjack. Nothing like a good bounty angle.

To the Farm Center,

Once again, HAHAHA! Fergie opens up the show with some great stuff and gets the win with "The payoff", the prefect name for his new finisher. You just made Carl Fergie a can't miss segment.

Youngblood's just can't seem to find their footing here.

Scott with another solid title defense.

Dynamite Duo get a huge win over the Sawyers but of course there was no way the Sawyers were going to just walk away.

LOL, poor Johnny V suffers the consequences of Golden and Jimmy's issues.

What a moment! I know the fans in the Farm Center blew the roof off the place when Bullet Bob took the mask off. The Bullet is back and he's bad to the bone!

I figured Cooley and Armstrong would use their anger to their advantage and they did. They got to beat up the Violent Gentlemen and now get a title shot.

The action and surprises continue as MR. OLYMPIA returns and takes down Stomper! Talk about sending the fans home happy...Huge moment! Olympia fits in so well here and deserves a run with the title.

Awesome stuff Gene!

Ohh Damn, Ron Wright aiming Kamala at Mulligan. That'll be a fight!!

Nice win for my boys the Dynamite Duo, and if they can pick up a win against the Sawyers in Dothan, they will take a big climb in the rankings!

Jarrett and Thatcher taking Twin States on the road. It will be a change, but I think it will help the promotion and I think it will make your life easier Mr. Jackson!

Loving the Violent Gentleman promo! Also getting the feeling that they might just be a LITTLE too cocky going into this Southern Street Fight. Brad and Wendell are too good a team to take lightly.

Well, Fuck It, I wanna be the first to say it..... Mr. Money is Money!! Love It! This is going to be a ton of fun for you to write, and for us to read. A heat magnet for sure.

Garvin/Fuller/Golden working together.....Hmmmm.....We'll see....

Mulligan puts down Bubba to escape another bounty hunter. I don't think Kamala will be so easy..

TO DOTHAN!!

Oh Heck Yeah, the debut of Mr. Money in the opener! A nice win and a great start!!

AOD and Strong send the Youngbloods to Texas

Another fine title defense for young Scott Armstrong. When challengers start coming out of the USWA woodwork, he'd better be ready.

HUGE win for the Dynamite Duo!! They paid for it afterwards, but man that has to propel them up the rankings!!

HA HA! Johnny V just had a real bad night. This should get interesting fast!

GREAT finish to Blackjack/Kamala!! Gets Mulligan out of a bad situation, keeps Kamala strong in a gimmicky way, and makes Armstrong look like a genius. The Kamala/Bullet matches are going to be awesome after this!!

I had a feeling that Wendell and Brad would show the Brits what they could do. Some wild matches for the belts coming up real soon!!

Oh Shit!! Olympia returns home and takes the belt in no time at all!! Damn!! That is how you close a show!!

Good Stuff!!

Not sure what else to say, but your TV show is one of the highlights of my week.

RPG and Platt are priceless together.

Kamala really making a name for himself here... first Armstrong and now he wants Mulligan and the $$$

Sawyers are fun together but they seem to have a lot of challengers.  The Nightmares should have gotten more attention IRL.

So glad you brought the Violent Gentlemen togehter.  Looking forward to the Southern Street Fight.

Nice idea getting out of the studio.  It makes financial sense during this time period but I must admit, I thought the studio shows looked better.  Especially World Class in the Sportatorium.

Carsen might have over-evaluated Bubba if he thought he was taking out Mulligan.

Johnny V: says he cleared things up but ut doesn't always happen so easily.  We will have to watch this one.

Well now I got two $$$ heels in USWA.  LOVE IT.  Fergie and Morrow need to meet.

AS for Dothan... The fans leave after a great show once again.

Loving Fergie, awesome southern street fight, the Bullet as Friday-awesome, so glad Olympia is now where he belongs!  I enjoy reading your stuff more then I like writing my own and to see what you do with Olympia is great.

Kamala

As Ron Wright and Friday start to escort Kamala from ringside, 'For the love of money' plays and "Mr. Money" Carl Fergie, Mr. Moffat, and Frank Morrell meet them in the aisle. Fergie is talking to Wright when Morrell opens a brief case full of money and shows Ron Wright who smiles wide and shakes Fergie's hand and quickly takes the case and tucks it under his arm, Wright goes over to ring announcer Rick Stewart and takes the mic and states Kamala would like to let it be known that he has surrendered his Gulf Coast Championship match tonight against Bob Armstrong to our new good friend and business associate, Carl Fergie.

=======================

COMMERCIAL BREAK

=======================

Platt: "I can't believe what we just witnessed before the break, Kamala won the battle royal to get a Gulf Coast title shot tonight against his rival 'Bullet' Bob Armstrong and now Ron Wright has essentially sold it to 'Mr. Money' Carl Fergie and I don't know if this is even allowed or if Kamala understands what just happened."

RPG: "Of course it's allowed Charlie Platt and that was a business transaction and it's nobodies business but Kamala and Carl Ferigie's.  Ron Wright watches out for Kamala's best interests…..the reason you want to be a champion is to make money, if your able to cut out the middle man and go straight to the money, why wouldn't Kamala be ok with that?  Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to go talk to my friend Johnny V who has a huge announcement to make!"

("Luscious" Johnny V joins Ronnie P. Gossett at the interview location)

RPG: "Right now I want to welcome out a great friend of mine and one of the greatest managers in the wrestling business today, 'Luscious' Johnny Valiant."

JV: "Thank you Ronnie, you know things haven't exactly been going my way lately…last week Fuller and Golden walked out on me….then Jimmy Garvin walked out on me and left me to nearly have my legs broken by that crazy Indian, Jerry Brisco and my idiot brother, Jimmy Valiant.  Well all three of those guys that walked out on me can keep walking….in fact they can all three walk off a cliff as far as I'm concerned! When things like that happen Ronnie, a guy has two choices….sit around and cry and complain about it……or move forward and find somebody better…..well, it just so happens last week I got a phone call from a friend of mine named Jack Victory, he said "Hey Luscious Donnie", he's terrible with names but a great wrestler and a great judge of talent…..he tells me that his two best friends just got railroaded by that mongoloid goof Frank Dusek down in Texas and now they need a new opportunity so I've signed them to a contract and they are getting ready to make their debut here tonight!"

RPG: "But I hear that's not all, Johnny."

JV: "Nope….I got another phone call from another great wrestler who said he wants to come here to Twin States and take that USWA Southern Junior Heavyweight championship from Scott Armstrong…and that man's name is 'Flamboyant' Eric Embry!  Let's bring those guys out right now, Ronnie!"

("Do ya think I'm Sexy" by Rod Stewart plays as The Fabulous Blondes- Chick Donavan and Steve Regal strut their way out to the set followed by Eric Embry)

RPG: "Guys, welcome to Twin States Wrestling."

Donovan: "You are looking at the greatest tag team in the world along with the greatest junior heavyweight wrestler in the world, we're changing the game here in Twin States!"

Regal: "That’s right Frank Dusek is an idiot and he will regret the day he fired us when he sees us wearing all the tag team gold here in the USWA….we're putting everyone on notice right now….if you wearing a gold belt around your waist….it belongs to the Fabulous Blondes!"

Embry: "You've seen the rest….now you're seeing the best, and there's still more to come…this isn't all of us."

RPG: "So, there are more members coming soon?"

Embry: "You'll find out soon enough, Mr. Gossett…..by the way, I have a question for you, what's better than gold?"

RPG: "Platinum?"

Embry: "That's right….and that's why you can call this group, the Platinum Club!"

RPG: "Platinum Club? I like it!"

JV: "Enough talk boys…..let's show them what you're all about! Eric, you'll get a chance a little later to show Scott Armstrong why he better shine that belt up and get ready to kiss it goodbye!"

-------------------------------------

MATCH #2:

The Fabulous Blondes (Chic Donovan/Steve Regal) w/Luscious Johnny V & Eric Embry defeated Eddie Wilson/Rick Havoc when Regal pinned Wilson after hitting a double 'hot shot' across the top rope

==========================

A promo airs promoting 'Thanksgiving Thunder' on Thanksgiving night in Birmingham featuring Brett/Buzz Sawyer challenging The Dynamite Duo to a 'Double Dog Collar, Losers Leave Town' match for the show which is accepted by Austin/Hamilton!

==========================

MATCH #3:

The Nightmares (Danny Davis/Ken Wayne) defeated George South/Dr. X when Davis pinned South after a legdrop off the top rope

Post match: The Nightmares say they were the first Twin States tag team champions and they never got a fair rematch for the titles after the Violent Gentlemen took the titles from them and they want a rematch…..and they want it soon!

==========================

COMMERCIAL BREAK

==========================

(Joe Pedicino welcomes the new Twin States Champion Mr. Olympia out to the interview area)

Pedicino: "Mr. Olympia, let me be the first to say welcome to Twin States Wrestling and congratulations on your huge title win over the Mongolian Stomper last week!"

Olympia: "Thank you Joe, I know Stomper and Don Carson are raising hell about me coming out of nowhere to win the championship, but that's the risk you take when you think you're big and bad and you issue an open challenge the way they did.  But hey, he's the former champion and he gets a rematch…and he deserves a rematch and Les Thatcher has signed that rematch for Thanksgiving Thunder. So, that's where the Stomper will get his rematch.  However, I'm looking forward to making my television debut right here next week and from what I understand I'll be facing the man who nearly won that battle royal earlier tonight, Lord Humongous."

Pedicino: "We certainly look forward to seeing that match next week and we wish you the best of luck in that rematch with the Mongolian Stomper."

Olympia: "I appreciate it, Joe and I look forward to holding this title for a real long time and making the fans of Twin States Wrestling proud to have me as their champion!"

==========================

MATCH #4:

"Flamboyant" Eric Embry w/Luscious Johnny V pinned Roy Lee Welch after a piledriver

=========================

(As Embry is leaving the ring, Ronnie Gossett is asking Charlie Platt on commentary if he's heard the news that the bounty has been doubled on Blackjack Mulligan and it's now $20,000 to anyone that can injure the big man to the point of ending his wrestling career/Mulligan comes storming out to the set)

BJM: "You know something tubby, how is it that YOU always seem to have all the inside information on this bounty…..makes me wonder if you aren't the one behind it!"

RPG: "Like I would waste twenty thousand dollars or even ten thousand dollars on you, Mulligan….the reason I have the inside scoop is because people who matter know I'm the only person on this show that has a clue and that can make sure this information is out there….for those who want to collect."

BJM: "Well that's just fine fat boy, I'm going to step into that ring down there and whoever wants to could try and collect that money can come and try it!"

=========================

MATCH #5:

Blackjack Mulligan defeated "Sadistic" Steve Strong by DQ when Robert Fuller/Jimmy Golden hit the ring trying to collect the bounty but Mulligan was saved by JIMMY GARVIN!

After the match, Garvin says he's looking for some revenge on Fuller and Golden and now it looks like Blackjack is too……Garvin says, "How about next week we team up to take those two on….right here on television?"  Mulligan thought it over for a second….and replied, "Hell, why not…..but if you double cross me Garvin….you'll be sorry!"  Garvin nodded in agreement and headed by up the aisle

MATCH #6

MAIN EVENT

Gulf Coast Heavyweight Championship

"Bullet" Bob Armstrong

vs.

"Mr. Money" Carl Fergie w/Mr. Moffat & Frank Morrell

After Fergie made his grand entrance, 'Bad to the Bone' played as the "Bullet Bob" made his way down the aisle…..before Armstrong made it into the ring, he was jumped from behind by Friday…..Armstrong quickly turned the tide and made a comeback on Friday but was soon attacked from behind by Kamala!  Kamala worked over Armstrong before ramming him head first into the ringpost and Friday then grabbed Armstrong and rolled him into the ring…..bleeding from the forehead.  As Armstrong grabs the ropes and struggles to get to his feet, the referee asked him if he would like to forfeit, Armstrong motioned no and said to "ring the bell"…..the referee reluctantly complied and the match was underway.  Fergie charged across the ring and quickly went on the attack….he worked Armstrong over for a few minutes but as the crowd started to rumble…..'Bullet' Bob started to make a comeback……he fired up with rights and lefts and started to have Fergie in trouble and finally locked Fergie in a sleeperhold…..before he could get cinched in tight, Mr. Moffat jumped on the apron causing not only the referee but Armstrong to come over to get him off the apron……as they were both distracted, Morrell slid something across the mat to Fergie who slid it into his right knee sleeve……as Moffat finally got down off the apron, Armstrong turned around into a kick in the gut from Fergie followed by a running knee lift aka 'the payoff' with the loaded knee sleeve, Fergie covers and hooked the leg for the 1-2-3!!

"Mr. Money" Carl Fergie is the new Gulf Coast Heavyweight Champion!!

Platt: "Unbelievable! Carl Fergie has stolen the Gulf Coast championship right here on television!"

RPG: "Stole it?? What match were you watching?? He just pinned Bob Armstrong clean after the 'pay off'!"

Platt: "Oh it was a 'pay off' alright….from paying off Ron Wright to buy Kamala's title match to having Kamala attack him before the match….to having his two stooges interfere…that was absolutely disgraceful!"

RPG: "You have no proof he paid Kamala to attack on Armstrong, I'm sure that was a freebie just because Kamala owed Armstrong for that stunt he pulled kidnapping Friday and stealing his clothes last week!"

Platt: "That's all the time we have this week, tune in next week as Blackjack Mulligan teams with Jimmy Garvin to take on Robert Fuller and Jimmy Golden, and we'll also see the Twin States Champion Mr. Olympia in action, and we'll hear from the USWA World Heavyweight Champion Jerry 'the King' Lawler!"

Really entertaining week of Twin States!

Platt and RPG continue to be the best duo in the game.

Was so excited to see Armstrong and Kamala but that your $$$$ angle with Fergie was perfectly done.

Mulligan's back and forth with RPG was priceless.  Wonder what a Mulligan-Jimmy Jam alliance would look like.

WOW.... Who says money donesn't make the man. Ferige from midcard to champion becasue of a little lottery win.

I hope RPG gets to check his car at intermission and we get an update....

Jarrett laying down the law and making Bullet defend the Gulf Coast title. A 25 man battle royal is a hell of a way to start off the new format show!!

Good Lord...Kamala, Big Bubba, and The Humongous dominated the ending of that thing! Kamala gets the huge win, and if Armstrong is smart, he'll just go ahead and forfeit the title now!

Wait, what have we here.... Mr. Money has purchased the rights to the title shot!! I love it! You are going to have so much fun with this gimmick!

"I got a phone call from a friend of mine named Jack Victory, he said "Hey Luscious Donnie", he's terrible with names but a great wrestler and a great judge of talent"..... I'm fucking dying over here. Tremendous!! Then calling Dusek a mongoloid goof was the icing on the cake.

The Platinum Club has arrived! This stable is already amazing, and I can't wait to see who else they have coming!!

Dynamite Duo vs The Sawyers in a Double Dog Collar, Loser Leaves Town match on Thanksgiving!! Holy Crap, that's gonna be a war!!

Really glad to see Mr. Olympia back in his natural stomping grounds. Seems like he has two tough matches coming up though. First the Humongous, then a rematch with the Stomper. Yikes! Rough road for the new champ.

Jimmy Garvin and Blackjack Mulligan may be the unlikeliest pairing I have ever heard of, but it should make for one hell of a tag team match against Fuller and Golden!!

YES!! Kamala takes out Armstrong before the match..... Mr. Money Wins!! New Champ!! Love It!!

Liking the new arena format Gene. Glad to see some Texas folks show up in Twin States. Great stuff as always!!

Oh man Gene, you're on a roll!

You know it's going to be a great show when it kicks off with a battle royal for a shot at the Gulf Coast Title. The Texas Ranger really stood out. In the end, Kamala gets the shot.

Things take a crazy turn as Mr. Money buys the title shot! This is some great TV!

YES!!! The Fabulous Blondes have arrived! Johnny V, the Blondes and Eric Embry...The Platinum Club! This is going to be hilarious stuff.

Sawyers vs. Dynamite Duo is a loser leaves town dog collar match! Yea I'm buying a ticket for Thanksgiving Thunder.

Nightmares make it known they're still around and want a title shot.

Olympia vows to be a fighting champ. He's got some upcoming fights with some bad monsters.

Common enemies make for some strange alliances. Does it get stranger than Jimmy Jam and Mulligan? LOL. Big TV match next week with Fuller and Golden.

HAHAHAHAHA! I love Bullet Bob, but I have to say, Fergie with this gimmick and now the Gulf Coast  title is freakn priceless! Fergie's segments are going to be so awesome. All that and this adds even more heat to the Kamala/Bullet feud. You struck gold with Mr. Money. Fergie might get a bottle of champagne sent to him LOL.

I can't wait until the USWA champ comes to town. So many top contenders in Twin States.

Bob: "Hey big fella….let me tell you somethin' right now…and I don't speak your language so hopefully one of those stooges with you can translate! On Thanksgiving night, you are going to be in my kinda match a Southern Street Fight! I already had enough reason to want to get my hands on you and then last week you decided to cost me my Gulf Coast title…..well, Carl Fergie…I know you're watching this and you better know that once I deal with Mr. Kamala, I'll be looking for you and my rematch for the Gulf Coast title….but right now, I'm focused on this Ugandan Headhunter and folks, come out there on Thanksgivng night and I'll show you for a fact that the old saying is true…..the bigger they are…the harder they fall!"

(From the ring, Ron Wright has a microphone)

ronWrighthat1.jpg

Wright: "Bob Armstrong, you listen here…..you should have had the good sense to retire from rasslin' the first time this man got his hands on you…..but you didn't! You kidnapped Friday and stole his mask and cost Kamala a lot of money when you caused him to lose to Blackjack Mulligan!  So, to even the score, took the money from Mr. Fergie and then cost you your precious Gulf Coast belt….but that wasn't good enough….you were dumb enough to ask for a Southern Street Fight with the Ugandan Headhunter so now, you're gonna get a Ugandan dog whoopin' down there on Thanksgiving night and you'll be outta here once and for all!"

Bob: "Ron Wright, talk is cheap….just like that suit you have on….and you best believe that I'm not just looking to get my hands on Kamala on Thursday night, I plan on jacking your jaw too…so keep talkin' and we'll see whose getting the dog whipping at Thanksgiving Thunder!"

JoePedicino.jpg

Pedicino: "Well Mr. Fergie, this is quite a celebration you've got going on here in your penthouse suite…not sure why you invited me and insisted I bring a camera crew…"

CarlFergieMrMoney.jpg

Fergie: "Think about it Pedicino, it's certainly not because you’re the life of the party……it's not because your friends with anyone here…..it's because I wanted you to see how 'Mr. Money' lives….I wanted you to see that I'm rich, not only in wealth but rich in friendship with wonderful people such as the ones you see here with us today."

(Gossett steps in with a bottle of champagne on ice)

RPG: "Carl, I was asked to make sure you got this…let me read the card. 'Congratulations Champ! You're an inspiration and a hero, and not to mention a great friend and collegue! Keep living the high life! Sincerely, 'Champagne' Gerry Morrow"

Fergie: "Aww, Gerald Morrow is a great friend and a great wrestler who should be the USWA World Champion right now and you can quote me on that, Pedicino."

Pedicino: "Duely noted, so Mr. Fergie….who will you be defending your championship against at Thankgiving Thunder?"

(Johnny V busts out laughing and says, "Are you being serious?")

Fergie: "Johnny, where did they find this guy?  I'm not defending this title against anyone at Thanksgiving Thunder because I won't be competing at Thanksgiving Thunder.  I'm wealthy beyond your comprehension, I now own a mansion in Beverly Hills, California…..I have a head chef and an entire cooking staff that will prepare me the greatest Thanksgiving feast a fat guy like you could ever imagine, Pedicino…..why would I lower myself to be in Birmingham, Alabama around a bunch of rasslin' fans on Thanksgiving?"

Johnny V: "Embry! Get out of the jacuzzi!"

So much great stuff this week!

Damn! The Sawyers really did a number on the Dynamite Duo! Great preview to what's in store for Thanksgiving.

Bullet Bob is fired up and he can't wait to get his hands on Kamala. This feud has been built up so well and man I would do anything I could to be there on Thanksgiving. Wright better stay out of Bullet's way.

Grunt The Wrestling movie! Wow that's a blast from the past.

HAHAHAHA! The Fergie Penthouse segment was hilarious. The bottle of champagne sent in by Morrow was priceless! We have to get these guys together! They could rule the USWA.

Lance Von Erich ventures out of Texas and picks up a nice TV win.

Looks like Embry got himself a Jr. title shot by giving the Platinum Club a big win. So many great heel stables in Twin States.

A lot of tag teams will be gunning for Karachi Vice. Just look at that list of teams in the upcoming battle royal.

Champ Mr. Olympia is off to a great start by retaining over Humungous. I hope Olympia has a long reign. He will draw a lot of money with the variety of challengers here.

I was wondering about the odd Garvin-Mulligan pairing but I honestly didn't see that swerve coming. Jimmy Jam wants the bounty money but Mulligan is going to be one pissed off dude. I think Jimmy might of made a big mistake.

Awesome stuff Gene! Thanksgiving is going to be insane!

Dynamite Duo pick up a nice win to start the show, but the Sawyers get a nice head start heading into the Dog Collar match on Thanksgiving. That should be a wild bloodbath!

The Southern Street Fight should be another nasty brawl! I hope Bob Armstrong has a better game plan this time, because his last few encounters with the Ugandan haven't went so well!

The celebration of Mr. Money's big victory was perfect! I can just picture all of the heels whooping it up in the hotel room in the most insincere way possible. The bottle of champagne was a wonderful touch!

Lance picks up a nice win here in Twin States.

Platinum Club cheats their way to a big victory over Cooley and The Armstrongs! Didn't expect this result at all!

That result leads to Embry vs Steve Armstrong for the Junior Title at Thanksgiving Thunder, and that should be a fun match.

Mr. Olympia picks up a nice win over the Humongous, and the masked man has been nothing short of impressive since his return to Twin States.

Say what you will about Garvin, but he held up his end of the deal in that tag team match and they picked up the win. He waited until after the match to stake his claim on the bounty, so fair play to Jimmy!

The Thanksgiving Thunder card is looking awesome! Excited to see a couple of All Star teams in the battle royal! Blondes vs Brisco/Valiant should be an interesting clash of styles. The Olympia/Stomper rematch is interesting, cause last time Stomper didn't know who he was getting. Will time to prepare give us a different result?

Great stuff as always dude! Looking forward to Thursday!

Fantastic.  Exciting from the opening montage to the final credits.

The pictures were fun and added to the show.

The Sawyers opened it up with the chain attack.  This got the fans involved right away.

Not sure their could be a better manager for Twin States then Ron Wright.  The Bullet vs Kamala is going to be great.

Nice work joining all the USWA promotions together as we get money man Fergie hyping up money man Morrow.  The party scene was a nice addition.

The last two matches were huge for TV.... For Olympia to get a clean win over Humongous on TV, it shows how deep your roster is.

Jimmy Jam can't make up his mind!

Thunder is going to be great.  Looking forward to all the Thanksgiving cards around Dawn of War.

**WINNERS**

The Nightmares

USWA Southern Jr. Heavyweight Championship

"Flamboyant" Eric Embry w/Luscious Johnny V pinned Scott Armstrong to win the title after Johnny V distracted the referee allowing a masked man in a track suit to run in and hit Armstrong with a pair of brass knux and then run back out

SPECIAL CHALLENGE MATCH

Jerry Brisco/"Handsome" Jimmy Valiant defeated The Fabulous Blondes (Steve Regal/Chic Donovan) w/Luscious Johnny V by DQ when Jerry Brisco was about to make the "hot tag" to Valiant who was yanked off the ring apron by the same masked man in the track suit who helped Embry…..Valiant starts firing away at the masked man with punches until he's jumped from behind by his brother Johnny! In the ring Donovan shoves the referee down as he and Regal double team Brisco…..meanwhile on the floor, The masked man and Johnny V give 'Handsome' Jimmy a spike piledriver on the concrete floor! Suddenly, Brad Armstrong, Wendell Cooley, and the Nightmares run down to make the save as the Blondes, Johnny V, and the masked man depart quickly!

$20,000 Bounty Match

Blackjack Mulligan pinned a bloodied "Gorgeous" Jimmy Garvin with a claw hold

After the match, Sir Oliver Humperdink made his way down to the ring…he took the microphone and said, "I could really use twenty grand, so I think I'm just going to kick your ass right now and take that money!"  Mulligan is bent over in the ring laughing as Humperdink takes off his jacket and starts to tape up his fists.  Mulligan requests the mic now…"Humperdink, you fat troll, I've been waiting quite a while to get my hands on you, waddle your fat butt in here and give it your best shot!"  Mulligan hands the mic back to Rick Stewart and motions for Humperdink to get in the ring…..Humperdink cautiously steps through the ropes and he immediately is locked into a claw hold from Mulligan…but in an instant…a large man enters the ring and spews green mist into the eyes of Mulligan!! It's KILLER KHAN!!  Mulligan rolls around on the mat blinded by the mist…..Humperdink holds Mulligan's leg's down while Khan ascends the ropes and crashes down with a knee right into the throat of Mulligan….Mulligan thrashes around on the mat holding his throat and coughing up blood! Once again a crew of babyfaces hit the ring for the save as Khan and Humperdink quickly powder out.

Double Dog Collar/Losers Leave Town

The Dynamite Duo (Larry Hamilton/Norvell Austin) defeated Brett/Buzz Sawyer w/Ron Wright in a brutal bloody brawl….when Austin pinned Brett Sawyer after giving him a neckbreaker with the chain around his throat

After the match after the Dynamite Duo exits the ring, Ron Wright starts berating Brett Sawyer for losing the match…calling him a "loser" and a "embarassment"…..Buzz Sawyer shoves Ron Wright and Wright responds by slapping Buzz in the face! Buzz nods for a moment like he had it coming…then explodes with a big clothesline on Wright…he then picks him up and bodyslams him….Buzz goes to the top rope and comes off with a huge splash!  The crowd erupts! However both Sawyers respond to the crowd by flipping them off and storming out of the arena.  The fans now see the THIRD person stretchered out tonight as just like Jimmy Valiant and Blackjack Mulligan, Ron Wright is being carried out as well..the fans however are cheering as they tote him up the aisle.

SEMI-MAIN EVENT

Southern Street Fight

"Bullet" Bob Armstrong

vs.

Kamala w/Friday

Bullet Bob came out wearing blue jeans, cowboy boots, a weightlifting belt, and a Twin States t-shirt….Kamala seemed a bit off his game since Ron Wright wasn't there after being attacked at the end of the previous match by Buzz Sawyer…..Armstrong was removing the weightlifting belt as he stepped through the ropes and immediately started wailing on Kamala with it who began to run from Armstrong as he chased him and whipped him with him with the belt……Kamala finally managed to catch him with a side kick and cut him off….Kamala grabbed the belt and started choking Armstrong with it.  He threw Armstrong out to the floor and followed him out….he picked up Bob and bodyslammed him on the concrete! As Armstrong got back to his feet Kamala went to ram him into the ringpost but Bob managed to raise his boot and block it and instead ram Kamala's head into the ring post….busting him wide open! Armstrong went over and grabbed the weightlifting belt and used the buckle to bust Kamala open even more….Friday tried to blindside Armstrong who blocked him and then snatched the mask off his head….he tried to cover his face and quickly ran back to the dressing room but a few fans recognized him as referee Danny Davis (not to be confused with Nightmare Danny Davis) However the brief distraction allowed Kamala to rake the eyes of Armstrong and then bite his forehead before throwing him back into the ring.  Kamala followed him in and gave him another bodyslam before climbing to the top rope…..Kamala looked around and realized there was no Friday or Ron Wright to advise him…..after a few seconds he went ahead and made the leap but the delay allowed Armstrong to roll out of the way and Kamala crashed to the canvas in a heap……..Armstrong pulled himself up with the ropes as Kamala struggled to get back to his feet as well….Armstrong limped over to the corner, Kamala charged him for an avalanche but Armstrong dodged him, Kamala crashed into the turnbuckles and fell right back into a sleeper from 'Bullet' Bob…..Kamala slowly dwindled down to the mat….the referee checked his arm….it fell once…..twice……and a third time signifying the Ugandan is out!  "Bullet" Bob Armstrong wins the Southern Street Fight!!

MAIN EVENT

Twin States Championship- REMATCH

Mr. Olympia pinned The Mongolian Stomper w/Don Carson with a crucifix to retain the championship!  Afterwards, the Stomper stormed out followed by Don Carson…..as Mr. Olympia held the championship belt high over his head the crowd cheered loudly until……..the masked man in the track suit made his third appearance of the night blasting Mr. Olympia in the back of the head with a stiff forearm shot!!  He grabbed up the Twin States title and started to strut around the ring with it as Mr. Olympia struggled to get back to his feet……just as Olympia managed to get upright, the masked man charged across the ring and WHAM!! nailed him with the belt right in the face…..Olympia was out cold on the mat….the masked man dropped the belt down across Mr. Olympia, then removed his jacket, placed his foot right in the middle of his chest…..and removed his mask to reveal…..

"NATURE BOY" BUDDY LANDEL!!!

20201126_072117.jpg

Buddy grabs the mic and says, "Guess what, kids…..Daddy's home!!"  with that he drops the mic on top of Olympia and leaves to a deafening chorus of boos!!

Awesome event.

The hospital in Birmingham was busy tonight.

Such a great Southern feel to this. It was wild, crazy action filled from beginning to end.

Johnny V was all over the early part of the card and I wonder since he distracted the ref to allow the man in the track suit to rush in if that means Buddy will be with Johnny V.

Can't wait to hear Eric Embry on the mic now that he is a champion.

I guess there will be no family Thanksgiving for the Valiant brothers after this event.

I was wondering what Humperdink was thinking when he challanged Mulligan. Great way to introduce Killer Khan to the crowd.  He will be a monster on Twin States.

Big win for the Bullet.  I wonder what is next for him.

Landel vs Olympia down the road.... Can't wait.

Nice to see Texas representing in the battle royal! The Highwaymen nearly get the job done, but The Nightmares bring it home and pick up a shot at Karachi Vice. That should be one hell of a fight!

Wham! Right off the bat we get a title change as Embry brings home the Junior Title after a mystery assailant takes out Scott Armstrong. Is this an associate of Johnny V? or just someone else who hates the Armstrongs!

Well, I guess that answers my stream of consciousness question! The masked man and Johnny V take out Jimmy while the Blondes rough up Brisco (and the referee) The babyfaces make the save, but the damage is done, and now I want to know who the hell this is!

A bad night for Jimmy Garvin becomes an even worse night for Blackjack Mulligan, as Oliver Humperdink arrives with Killer Khan! I don't know if they did enough to collect the bounty, but they certainly tried!!

HUGE win for The Dynamite Duo as they send The Sawyers packing out of Twin States. Buzz and Bret don't go quietly though as they make sure Ron Wright pays for his sins!

Loved the booking on the Southern Street Fight. Removing the things that make Kamala work so Armstrong can get the better of him is a great way to keep Kamala strong in the loss, and at the same time make Armstrong look like a million bucks. Bob is the face of Twin States and he proves it here with a huge victory. Loved It!

Olympia puts the Stomper away again, and you have to think there won't be anymore shots for The Stomper for a while. Then our masked friend arrives back on the scene and....

Fuck Yeah. Daddy's Home.

Buddy Landel is back with the man who made him one of the top characters in this game. This is going to be good!

Great Show! Twin States is headed in an awesome direction, and I am beyond stoked for the return of Landel!

Gene, you know how to give us one heck of a show!

Nightmares kick off the night by winning the battle royal. They defiantly earned their shot at USWA gold.

WOW! Thanks to this mysterious masked man, Embry has won the Jr. Title! I know Jerry Jarrett is putting together something special for a shot at that title.

The masked man strikes again as poor Jimmy V does the stretcher job! Who is this masked man???

I knew Jimmy Jam was in serious trouble and man did Mulligan give him a beating. Damn! What a debut for Humperdink and Khan! I'm so glad you got Khan. Khan destroys Mulligan and we get another man out on the stretcher! That mist is some bad stuff. Khan vs. Mulligan is going to be brutal.

Good grief! A neckbreaker with the chain! Brett Sawyer wasn't getting up from that. The Dynamite Duo proved that they can get mean. Wright should of known better than to piss off Buzz. He pays big time. The Sawyers flipping off the fans was a fitting way to leave LOL. Wright being stretchered out was another LOL moment.

The Bullet/Kamala match went beyond expectations. Awesome brawl and Friday even gets unmasked. Poor Kamala was lost without his entourage and gets put to sleep. Bullet Bob gets the feel good moment of the night. Just feels right.

Olympia solidifies himself as champ by beating Stomper in the rematch.

But wait...The masked man is back! He puts Olympia down and reveals himself as BUDDY LANDEL!!!!!!!  This was freakn GREAT! The "Daddy's home" line was icing on the cake. I know the fans were heated but man this was one epic moment in Twin States!

Amazing job!

Taped on: Thursday November 26, 1985 (following the Thanksgiving show)

at Boutwell Auditorium in Birmingham, Alabama

airing on stations throughout Alabama and Mississippi

Host/Play by Play: Charlie Platt

Co-Host/Color Commentator: Ronnie P. Gossett

Interviewer: Joe Pedicino

Ring Announcer: Rick Stewart

(Show opens with a montage of Twin States Wrestling footage with a voiceover saying "Welcome to Twin States Wrestling bringing you the best professional wrestling action from across Alabama and Mississippi sanctioned by the USWA", we then go to the set to our hosts Charlie Platt and Ronnie P. Gossett)

Highlights from Thanksgiving Thunder air before we hear from the announcers including: The Nightmares winning the battle royal for a shot at the USWA Tag Team titles, Johnny V and the masked man injuring Jimmy Valiant and having him carried out on a stretcher, Eric Embry defeating Scott Armstrong for the Jr heavyweight title, Blackjack Mulligan being attacked by Killer Khan and stretchered out, the Dynamite Duo defeating the Sawyers in a double dog collar match, Bob Armstrong defeating Kamala, and finally Mr Olympia pinning the Mongolian Stomper to retain the title only to be attacked by the masked man who revealed himself to be 'Nature Boy' Buddy Landel!"

plattclose.jpg

Platt: "Welcome everyone once again to Twin States Wrestling,  I'm Charlie Platt along with what appears to be an absolutely estastic Ronnie P. Gossett."

RPG.jpg

RPG: "I'm beyond estatic….and before you can say another word to potentially ruin it…..please join me in welcoming the greatest wrestler in the sport today, the one….the only….the 'Nature Boy' Buddy Landel!" (Back in the Saddle by Aerosmith plays as Buddy Landel comes out in a suit and hugs Ronnie P. Gossett who greets him in front of the desk)

buddysuit.jpg
Platt: "Wow, we're doing this already? Well Buddy, I see the hair is coming back quicker than expected."

Landel: "First of all, only my friends call me Buddy, so you can call me Mr. Landel! Second of all, the hair is coming back because I happen to be best friends with Mr. Sy Sperling."

Platt: "The president of the Hair Club for Men?"

Landel: "Platt, he's not only the hair club President, he's also a damn client! But enough about how beautiful my hair looks, I know the real question on everyone's mind…..how on earth did the promoters of Twin States Wrestling get a colossal superstar such as myself to come to Twin States Wrestling….especially when they've got a nothing happening nerd like Charlie Platt hosting the show."

Platt: "Oh please do tell us how we got so lucky?"

Landel: "Listen here Charlie Platt, since I've been gone, Ronnie P. Gossett has managed to up his prestige even more by being the best color commentator in the game, you hear me Charlie Platt? He upped his prestige….now UP YOURS!" (Gossett laughs hysterically)

Platt: "So this is what brought you back, to tell jokes from 20 year old Dean Martin roasts?"

Landel: "That's real cute Charlie Platt, don't think I won't pull you out from behind that desk and lock you in a figure leglock right here on this stage!  No, what convinced me to come back here is the USWA promised me a World Championship match here next week on television against that chump, Jerry 'the King' Lawler. First of all it's been my dream since I was a young child to be a World Champion and second of all, there's nothing I enjoy more than beating up Jerry 'the Queen' Lawler.  I wanna apologize right now to my good buddy Terry Funk, I know you were looking forward to getting your hands on Lawler in that steel cage at Wrestlestorm 2, but unfortunately for Mr. Funk, Lawler will be in no shape to compete when I get through with him next week in Jackson, Mississippi!"

(Les Thatcher comes out)

Thatcher: "Buddy, what you just said is true….Jerry Jarrett did offer you a USWA World Championship match as an incentive to get you to sign with Twin States Wrestling, however after that stunt you pulled at Thanksgiving Thunder showing up under a mask and costing Scott Armstrong his title, then helping Johnny V injure his brother Jimmy Valiant and essentially running him out of the area, and then to top it all off you attack our champion Mr. Olympia following a title defense…..Mr. Jarrett says I'm more than welcome to take away your championship match to show you right out of the gate that your actions will have consequences here!"

Landel: "WHAT?? Have you lost your mind?? Now, I'll admit that was me at the end of the night that attacked Mr. Olympia, to get revenge for all the horrible things that masked goof did to me in the NWA, now all that other stuff you mentioned, I have no idea who that guy was….but it certainly wasn't me!"

(Jerry Brisco comes storming out)

images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTa7waiM7eI85ujm7XjTpV

Brisco: "Les Thatcher….did I just hear you say you want to teach this young punk that actions have conseuquences?"

Thatcher: "Yes sir, you sure did!'

Brisco: "Well lie all you want Landel, but I know it was you that injured my friend Jimmy Valiant….and I'll be more than happy to teach you the consequences of your actions in that ring down there tonight!!" (Crowd cheers)

Landel: "Now hold on a minute…..Nobody is taking my title match away…and I'm not here to wrestle tonight and I sure as hell ain't wrestling this crazy Indian…forget it!"

Thatcher: "I'll tell you what I'm going to do here, Landel. I'm going to give you a chance to get your title shot back, and I'm going to give Mr. Brisco a chance to teach you a lesson…..tonight in our main event…you'll face Jerry Brisco and if you win, you'll get your USWA title match against Jerry Lawler…..BUT…if you lose, then Jerry Brisco gets the World title shot against the King next week."

RPG: "Thatcher, you can't do this to him!"

Thatcher: "Gossett, I've already told you once, Jerry Jarrett wants you fired so you best sit over there and shut your mouth if you know what's good for you!"

Landel: "Don't you dare talk to my friend like that! You know what, FINE! If I've got to beat this old man to keep the title shot I was already given, then so be it! I'm going to show this old man how you really apply a figure four leglock then after next week, not only will I be the USWA World Champion, I'll be the new King as well!"

===================

MATCH #1:

Killer Khan w/Sir Oliver Humperdink pinned Jack Busby after a knee drop from the top rope

khan.jpg
(Post match: Joe Pedicino approaches Sir Oliver Humperdink at ringside)

Joe: "Sir Oliver Humperdink, you just appeared out of nowhere at Thanksgiving Thunder along with this monster Killer Khan and attacked Blackjack Mulligan…please explain yourself!"

b-photo_humperdink.jpg

Hump: "Listen to me fat man, I don't have to explain myself to anyone, especially you…but in this case I'll make an exception! Mulligan has a twenty thousand dollar bounty on him and I like money….this man Killer Khan likes to hurt people…..he would maim Mulligan for free but fortunately for me…there's money to be made….obviously, after seeing him getting carried out on a stretcher on Thankgiving, we got the job done….he's out of Twin States for good….so Pedicino, get the person out here who put up the bounty and get us our money!"

Joe: "That's just it Humperdink, no one knows who put up the bounty so you're on your own as far as getting paid goes…..not to mention, I doubt you've seen the last of Blackjack Mulligan."

Hump: "Well whoever is behind the bounty better reveal themselves soon and pay us our money….or maybe they'll be the next one to ride the stretcher!"

===================

COMMERCIAL BREAK

===================

MATCH #4:

Twin States Tag Team Champions The Violent Gentlemen (Bill Dundee/George Barnes) defeated The Batten Twins (Bart/Brad) when Barnes pinned Brad Batten after a shoulder breaker

After the match- Joe Pedicino approaches Barnes/Dundee to get a word with them. Barnes seems angrier than usual as he promises that the only thing people will be talking about after Wrestlestorm is the beating they're going to put on those "damn bloody yanks Armstrong & Cooley". Dundee laughs and says that Barnes has been extra salty lately….to which Barnes replies, "well somebody has to carry this team…..being in the states so long has made you soft, Billy!"  Dundee seems to take exception to this and they walk away in a bit of a disagreement.

GeorgeBarnes.jpg

===================

(VTR- "Mr. Money" Carl Fergie is inside his limo with Mr. Moffat and Frank Morrell who is shining his Gulf Coast Championship belt)

Fergie: "Shine it up good Frank, make sure you get all of Armstrong's grubby fingerprints off of it!"

CarlFergieMrMoney.jpg

Morrell: "Yes sir, Mr. Fergie….I'll have it good as new."

Fergie: "So Bob Armstrong thinks he's going to win this championship belt back, huh?  Says there's things my money can't buy….well Mr. Armstrong, I guess we'll just have to see about that won't we? I'm a mult-millionare and I'm the Gulf Coast Champion, I found a way to beat you once….so what makes you think I won't find a way to beat you again? How about this 'Bullet Bob'?  How about next week on this television program, you face my bodyguard, Karl Moffat…and if you can beat him….then we'll discuss giving you a rematch….if not, you don't derserve to share a ring with 'Mr. Money', much less get a title shot…..we'll see you next week, Armstrong."

===================

MATCH #5:

Twin States Champion Mr. Olympia pinned 'Big' Bubba Monroe following a 'DDT'

Post match: Mr. Olympia grabs the mic and promises the fans that sooner rather than later he will get his hands on Buddy Landel and he will have hell to pay for what he did at Thanksgiving Thunder, as he's saying this referees come out and inform him that he has to leave the building to insure he doesn't attack Landel during or after the main event.

YES!!!! Right off the bat we get Landel. Landel is on a roll until Brisco comes out. A lot at stake in tonight's main event. I'm sure Lawler wont be happy about being called "The Queen" LOL, Landel's to funny.

Humperdink and Khan want their money. Well, Humperdink does. Like he said, Khan just likes hurting people. I wonder who's behind the bounty? If I was Humperdink, I would be more worried about Mulligan returning than the money.

Nightmares are ready for Karachi Vice. The challengers are lining up for a shot.

Gotta love Embry.

Fergie has all the money but he's in serious trouble with a fired up Bullet Bob coming after him. After that big win over Kamala, I don't think anything can stop him.

Trouble's brewing between Barnes and Dundee. This is bad timing with their title defense against Brad and Cooley coming up.

Well, it seems Fergie might have something up his sleeve for Bullet. Morrell shining up the belt was hilarious.

Olympia is back on track and wants a piece of Buddy. He's so pissed, officials see to it that he's not around for the main event.

Landel gets his shot back! We then find out he's the leader of the Platinum Club! Oh man Twin States will never be the same. How freakn fun is this going to be.

Great job Gene!

Budrow is back!!

and we get a Sy Sperling and the Hairclub for Men reference right off the bat. That's about as 80's as we can get in this motherfucker.

Great opening segment! Set up a main event for tonight, next week, and potentially set up a 2nd masked man!!

I like the pairing of Khan and Humperdink. Be interesting to see if Dink gets anybody else in his stable. Also be interesting to see if whoever put the bounty out shows up.

Nightmares pick up another win, and man they are on a roll! Karachi Vice better be on the look out!

Embry using "You're the Best Around" is awesome!

Bullet Bob has dispatched The Ugandan Giant and now he wants his belt back. Fergie better buy himself some back up!!

Well, I don't like The Violent Gentleman showing dissension. They are one of my favorite teams in the game. Interesting to see where this goes.

Fergie apparently sees things my way. Puts his bodyguard in front of Armstrong before giving him a title shot. I still don't figure things will be that easy!!

Nice win for Olympia, and then he gets tossed out of the building! That won't sit well! Just make him want a shot at Buddy even more.

Landel picks up the win over Brisco after Embry and Johnny V get involved! Add in The Fabulous Blondes, and The Platinum Club is complete!! What a Stable!!

Business is definitely picking up here in Twin States. Liking the direction things are heading.

I feel awful that I ever convinced you to trade Landel to me in the first place.  He is right back where he belongs and I loved every minute of it!

Humperdink and Khan looking for the man with the money is a cool angle.  Also, looking forward to Mulligan and Khan down the road.

Embry is another one that is back where he needs to be to flourish and I like that he has some gold around his waist to build him up even more.

Wonder what we will get down the road from Barnes and Dundee.. Interesting

How else could the show end other then Landel with a win and earning a title shot.

Still the MVP of Twin States is RPG

It's always a wild night in Tupelo!

Ronnie Garvin shows up in Twin States, and that feels right! He'll make a fine top babyface here!

Fuller and Golden leaving? That doesn't feel right!!

The Platinum Club is such a wonderful group of dastardly pricks!

Things just aren't going Kamala's way these days.

With the new talent coming in, and some new characters being built, I really like where Twin States is going!
