I like the revamped WWW. This show brought the energy.

Things get started with a bang as Winnona takes the TV title from Singh. Looks like things are just getting warmed up between those two and their partners.

Ashly Kennedy is looking to make waves. She's off to a good start. LOL, nice touch with the camera getting glimpses of Goldie's water bottle brand. Gotta keep the sponsors happy. 

Medusa beats Luna in another wild match and then chooses a submission match to end this once and for all. This feud has the heat.

I enjoyed the heel vs. heel match. Puts a different and fresh spin on things. I need to book that more often. 

Poor Richter, she really has fallen. We'll see if she can pull herself out of this slump.

Wonder Women of Wrestling – Episode No. LXXII – “April Mega Event” – 13^th of April 1987 – Airing Live! – Las Vegas, Nevada

Lisa Moretti versus Velvet McIntyre

We kick things off this week with a big opening, pyro and lights and a music video promoting the company, its sponsors and its roster.

Our first match is a two out of three falls contest for the television title, with Rhonda Singh looking to reclaim her prize from Winona Little Heart. With the challenger needing to conserve her strength for another match later on and Winona Little Heart feeling the need to pace herself to ensure she gets two falls instead of one, we get a fairly clean contest that starts slow. After last week’s shenanigans, neither woman has any back-up, which adds to the feeling that this will be a more definitive match.

Both women get their time to shine but it’s Winona Little Heart who gets the early advantage with a flying crossbody and a pin that just gets the three-count. We then cut to commercial, during which Rhonda Singh manages to turn the tide. By the time we return, Winona Little Heart is in deep trouble, being brutalised in a corner. A pinfall actually gives her some relief as, though the score is now equalised, the referee makes sure both women are back their respective corners before continuing the match.

Winona Little Heart rolls out of the ring to catch her breath, frustrating Rhonda Singh and giving her a brief run around. By the time they’re once again locking up, they’re on an even playing field. It’s anyone’s match but Winona Little Heart proves her underdog credentials with a well-timed move from the top rope.

A hype package for the main event then plays – based around Lisa Moretti’s reign so far – before we get to the interviews. Rhonda Singh and Reggie Bennett claim they’re ready to take their tag titles back, downplaying the loss and trying to disguise their anger. The Giant Slayers fawn over Winona Little Heart and rejoice in the win, chatting excitedly about what the future might hold.

Another commercial break then takes us to our first Season Match of the night. Heidi Lee Morgan is taking on Candi Devine and with the babyface having a title defence scheduled for later in the night, Candi Devine decides to make hospitalising her a secondary objective. Heidi Lee Morgan is about to go down without a fight, however, and the two women have a fast-paced brawl.

In the end, though she’s a little worse for wear, Heidi Lee Morgan pulls it off and Candi Devine is left sputtering.

We get an ad for the merchandise catalogue before moving on to the interviews. Candi Devine is joined by Penny Mitchell and the two women rant and rave about the state of the promotion, going hard on Velvet McIntyre who they believe doesn’t deserve a slot in the main event. An exhausted Heidi Lee Morgan is joined by Misty Blue Simmes who congratulates her and talks up their ability to defend their tag team titles later tonight in a steel cage.

Another commercial break then takes us through to our second championship bout, with Debbie Combs set to defend her titles from Ashly Kennedy.

We have strange dynamic here as the heel, with her partner Brittany Brown in her corner for moral support, is clearly very nervous, with this being her biggest match to date and Debbie Combs appearing generally contemptuous of the whole affair.

We get a nice back-and-forth to begin with but eventually, despite an endless array of dirty tricks – including interference from her partner – Ashly Kennedy is unable to match the technical prowess of Debbie Combs and ends up on the backfoot. The match then transitions into a showcase for the champ before the inevitable occurs.

Another hype package then plays – this one for the tag team title bout inside a steel cage – and we transition to the interviews.

Ashly Kennedy appears somewhat shell-shocked, so Brittany Brown speaks for her, coming up with all sorts of excuses and promising bloody revenge. Debbie Combs uses her interview time to talk up the sponsors and her experience meeting and greeting the VIP ticketholders earlier in the night.

We then cut to another commercial break before heading to our second Season Match. Here, Jamie West is taking on Wendi Richter.

The commentators talk up Wendi Richter’s fall from grace, especially as she falters in the early goings of the match. With Rockin’ Robin cheering her on and working up the crowd, Jamie West launches a fully-fledge offensive that takes the former world champion completely off-guard. Wendi Richter is only shaken awake by a pinfall attempt that almost costs her the match.

She takes quite a beating but, eventually, Wendi Richter is able to find a new rhythm and, as soon as she does, she becomes a vicious animal, culminating in the return of her signature technique. This time, however, the powerbomb takes Jamie West crashing through the announcer’s table.

A music video then takes us through to the interviews. Jamie West is in a bad way, being doted on by Rockin’ Robin, and she laments her loss. Wendi Richter claims to have found her footing once again and says that her decline – which she blames the company for – will be avenged.

When we return from the next commercial break, the tag team champions are facing Rhonda Singh and Reggie Bennett in the ring. A steel cage has been erected around them, but they all do their best to appear unfazed.

The match proceeds fairly normally, with hard-hitting exchanges but very little use of the cage until around the ten-minute mark. Then, shortly before the commercial break, Misty Blue Simmes is launched into the cage wall and falls to the ground. With her partner neutralised, Heidi Lee Morgan is easy pickings for the former Monsters who torture her throughout the break.

When we return, Misty Blue Simmes has once again found her feet and she relieves her brutalised partner with a torrent of offence that sends first Reggie Bennett then Rhonda Singh crumbling to the matt.

The finish comes when Reggie Bennett is successfully baited into a spear attempt that Heidi Lee Morgan dodges. The result is Reggie Bennett smashing headfirst into the cage and Rhonda Singh being taken up for a big move and then held down by the champions.

A hype package plays for the grudge match between Medusa Miceli and Luna Vachon and then we head to the interviews. Rhonda Singh and Reggie Bennett are in a bad way and go through their usual routine of ranting and raving but in far more subdued tones than usual as they nurse their injuries. Misty Blue Simmes lets Heidi Lee Morgan do the talking and she proclaims herself and her partner the best female tag team in the world.

A commercial break then takes us to the submission match between Medusa Miceli and Luna Vachon.

The hatred burning between the two women is palpable as they launch into each other before the opening bell. Despite the submission-based stipulation, in the early goings both women simply want to beat each other to a bloody pulp. This plays into Medusa Miceli’s hands, as she already has a game plan figured out for the finish, whereas Luna Vachon appears not to have even considered how she’ll secure a win.

Once both competitors are thoroughly bruised and exhausted, Medusa Miceli sets her strategy in motion, brutalising Luna Vachon’s legs, swinging them into the corner posts, stomping on them, twisting them every which way. With her legs in too much pain to stand, Luna Vachon launches a desperation move, trying to choke Medusa Miceli out when both women are on the ground.

Once Medusa Miceli fights out of it, as hurt as she seems, it’s game over. She turns Luna Vachon over, sits on the small of her back and pulls as hard as she can. The heel is in tears, what little remains of her monstrous makeup trickling down onto the canvas, when she finally screams to the referee for relief.

With no time for interviews, we head to our final commercial break.

We return to the opening bell of the main event. The narrative here is simple, Velvet McIntyre has been given yet another chance to put herself back on top. She has the technical skill, but she appears to have lost an intangible psychological factor. Lisa Moretti, on the other hand, seems totally unstoppable.

The result is a thunderous back-and-forth. After every exchange, however, the champ seems closer and closer to victory and the challenger seems closer and closer to losing her grip.

With seemingly no other option, Velvet McIntyre goes high risk and pays for it when she’s caught in mid-air by an indefatigable Lisa Moretti.

Winona and Singh give the fans 3 falls of action as they fight for the TV title. Winona pulls it out.

Morgan is really finding her groove as she gets a big win over Devine.

Combs is ever the pro and stays focused to show Kennedy who she's in the ring with. 

Oh man Richter's slump is snapped and this will mean bad news for the woman's roster. 

The cage match was off the charts. Over 30 minutes of solid tag action. Champs retain in exciting fashion. 

Medusa and Luna go at it hard in their big blow off match. Great visual of Luna's makeup running down her face as she cries out her submission. Satisfying ending.

I agree, Moretti is invincible!

Wendi Richter versus Misty Blue Simmes

We kick off this week’s programme with a music video briefly recapping the first few Season Matches and hyping up a few of those coming up in the next few weeks. After that, we head to the ring for the traditional television title opener.

Winona Little Heart is attempting to defend her title from Heidi Lee Morgan. The two have a very respectful and clean match but the champ is clearly in a different league, so the contest serves primarily as a showcase for her and her move set, culminating in her signature finish.

A brief hype package plays for the WCPW event “Jailbreak”, advertising the fact that two of the ladies from the promotion will be having a match on the show, before we get to the interviews. Heidi Lee Morgan cedes her interview time to her partner, Misty Blue Simmes, who talks up her ability to win the main event and promises to stop Wendi Richter dead in her tracks. The Giant Slayers are all together for Winona Little Heart’s interview and her stablemates gush over her victory.

A commercial break then brings us to our first Season Match of the night, with Debbie Combs taking on Rhonda Singh in a non-title affair. From the off, the showdown is brutal, with Rhonda Singh giving it her all and Debbie Combs pre-empting her extreme violence with a ferocious offence of her own.

This one devolves into a brawl, going in and out of the ring and almost resulting in a double count out several times. Eventually, through the sweat and tears, Debbie Combs powers through and dodges a splash, allowing her to set up her own finish.

An ad-filled promotional video then plays us through to the interviews. Rhonda Singh is exhausted but still capable of belting out an angry rant and promising to put Debbie Combs in the hospital at the next possible opportunity. For her part, Debbie Combs bigs herself up and promotes her appearance at the WCPW show in a couple of days.

Another commercial break then takes us to the next Season Match, with Malia Hosaka taking on Desiree Petersen. With Princess Delta Dawn in her corner, for guidance and the occasional assist, Malia Hosaka pushes Desiree Petersen to her limit.

In the end, however, the leader of the Giant Slayers, holds too great of a technical advantage and brings things to an end with an explosive finish sequence.

A promotional video for the VIP ticketholder’s experience plays before we head to the next set of interviews. Malia Hosaka accuses her opponent of cheating and generally behaves in a petulant manner. Desiree Petersen is joined by her stable and they chat excitedly about what the future might hold.

Another commercial break then takes us to the penultimate contest, a Season Match between Lady Apache and Reggie Bennett. Both wrestlers have a lot to prove and come out swinging. As Lady Apache begins to gain ground, however, Reggie Bennett goes to the well and, with help from Rhonda Singh at ringside, cheats with abandon.

Demoralised and brutalised, Lady Apache refuses to give in, however, and even manages to hit Reggie Bennett with a top rope dropkick. In the end, however, she just doesn’t have enough in the tank to overcome the power advantage her opponent holds, nor deal with her endless rule breaking.

After the match, Reggie Bennett decides she isn’t done, and Rhonda Singh joins her in a brutal beatdown on Lady Apache. Vicky Carranza tries to save her partner but gets the same treatment. The resulting carnage eats through the interview time and requires the intervention of babyfaces and staff members to bring to an end.

After a commercial break, we come to the main event.

Misty Blue Simmes and Wendi Richter both get showy entrances and pace themselves in the opening rounds with-and-forth technical sequences. The early advantage goes to Misty Blue Simmes but the odd bit of heel antics from Wendi Richter here and there, however, keeps her from sealing the deal.

By the time we get to the final commercial break, both women are frazzled and sweaty, desperate for some quick way to wrap things up. We return to see one of these attempts, with Wendi Richter kicking out at two and a half after a diving splash.

The finish comes when Misty Blue Simmes drags her opponent into the corner, assaulting her with body shots before eventually ascending the turnbuckle to crack her over the head with strikes that the crowd can chant along with. Before she can get to the tenth strike, however, Wendi Richter transforms their arrangement into a powerbomb from the bottom rope, practically hurling her opponent across the ring.

This week, we head straight into the action with a television title opener. Desiree Petersen is taking on her stablemate here, the champion Winona Little Heart. There allies are gathered around them, unsure of who to root for, and the resulting contest very clean and respectful but ferocious all the same. Winona Little Heart is fighting to keep her title, but the commentators speculate that Desiree Petersen might also fear losing something here – her place as the leader of the Giant Slayers.

After a hard-fought back-and-forth, the finish sees the loser kick out just a millisecond after the three-count.

A sponsored music video then takes us through to the interviews. The winner and the loser share the spotlight, with the rest of their stable crowded around them, declare “no hard feelings” and look forward to the next time they face each other.

After a commercial break, we get to the tag team title match, with the Nasty Girls challenging Misty Blue Simmes and Heidi Lee Morgan. Within minutes, the match devolves into a hellish brawl, with fighting on the outside and regular interventions from the referee. The faces look genuinely in trouble towards the ten-minute mark but rescue – of a perverse kind – comes in an unlikely form.

Rhonda Singh and Reggie Bennett come thundering down to the ring and set to work demolishing their hated rivals.

After a minute or so of a beatdown which staff seem unable to stop, the Nasty Girls – extremely pissed off by the cheap finish to a match they believe they had won – turn on the assailants and drive them off to unfamiliar roars from the crowd.

With no time for interviews we go from a hype package for the main event straight into a commercial break.

Afterwards, we arrive at a match between the WWW Fighting Spirit Champion Debbie Combs and the newly crowned NWA Texas Women’s Champion Wendi Richter. The commentators cover their match at the WCPW event “Jailbreak” in the early goings of the match here.

Debbie Combs fights like a woman possessed, desperate to become a dual champion once again, but this time around Wendi Richter is supremely confident. The result is a bitter and nasty fight and remains competitive through the first commercial break, after which the defences of Debbie Combs begin to break down.

Wendi Richter pulls of her old trick and sends her opponent crashing into the ringside floor with a powerbomb. The match continues predictably after that as, though she manages a kick out at one stage, Debbie Combs fails to ever go back on the offence and settles merely for delaying the inevitable, which comes after another powerbomb.

One last hype package for the main event plays before we head to the interviews. Debbie Combs is despondent and in pain as she searches for an explanation for her loss, she can eventually only offer to go back to the drawing board and train hard for her next opportunity. Wendi Richter is over the moon and demands a world title match as soon as possible.

Another commercial break brings us to the main event.

The match starts with a handshake and remains clean and technical for the first ten minutes. As soon as Medusa Miceli gives Lisa Moretti a scare with an ambitious pin attempt, however, the tone of the match changes. Lisa Moretti begins to take shortcuts in order to hold onto the advantage and Medusa Miceli responds by pushing the rules to the limit. By the time we get back from the first commercial break, the referee appears bewildered and beleaguered by the two women and their behaviour.

We get signature moves and close calls from both women, but the finish comes when Medusa Miceli decides to keep her arms wrapped around Lisa Moretti after a German suplex, and another, and another.

Little Heart retains the TV Title....& maybe becomes the new leader of the Giant Slayers?

Singh & Bennett aren't finished with the champs, much to the chagrin of the Nasty Girls.

Richter defeats Combs for the second time in a week to re-unify the titles.

Medusa/Moretti starts clean, goes to the gutter before ending with the champ having to spam her finisher.

In a fun change of pace, we get stablemates wrestling for the TV title. Winona proves she's a legit champ by retaining over the group's leader, Peterson. 

Hard hitting fast paced tag title match gets spoiled by Singh and Bennett. However, we get a twist as the Nasty Girls don't like this and do something about it. 

Richter and Combs go at it in a high profile rematch from Jailbreak. Combs puts up a serious fight but Richter ends things in a ruthless way and is now a dual champion. I would say Richter is officially back on track. 

Big time main event that gives the fans over 30 minutes of roller coaster action. Medusa does it and wins the NWA title! WOW! Looking forward to her reign, she deserves it. 

This was one of the best shows in the game this year. Great job!

Fun catching up on the world of women's wrestling in early 1987.  Sorry to have missed so much.  It was interesting to see Richter fall from grace for a short period of time but now she seems to be moving up again.  Big wins over Misty and Debbie Combs in the last two weeks.

I do like the violence and strength of Powers and Singh causing chaos week after week regardless if the get the win or not.  

Like how you keep rotating the stars into power.... Moretti, Richter and Medusa all get some time to shine.

Like the idea of the Season Matches... creative.

Medusa Miceli versus Misty Blue Simmes

This week we get a video recap of last week’s events and a brief rundown of the state of the season match results so far. We then move on to our traditional television title opener, which doubles as a preview of the six women tag match scheduled for later tonight, with Winona Little Heart taking on Leilani Kai.

With both stables hanging around the ringside, we get plenty of brawling and crowd interaction. In the ring, however, we get a fairly competitive match. The finish is a familiar one, with the champ going high risk after her signature fails to secure the win.

Winona Little Heart defeats Leilani Kai in 09:39 by pinfall after a missile dropkick to retain the WWW Television Championship

A promotional music video, showing off the top stars, then plays before we get to the interviews. The Glamour Girls rant and rave and promise to get their revenge later in the night and leave with the trios’ titles. As for the Giant Slayers, they claim they have nothing to fear.

A commercial break then brings us to the first of our three season matches, with another member of the Glamour Girls – Despina Montagas – taking on Peggy Lee Leather.

The Glamour Girls are all in attendance and, with no backup of her own, this means that Peggy Lee Leather takes on the babyface role for the duration of the match – her opponent’s allies see to this by antagonising the audience as much as possible. We get a ferocious match with a lot of rule-breaking as a result.

After both women secure a near-fall, the finish requires outside intervention, specifically a smack over the head of Peggy Lee Leather from Leilani Kai whilst the referee is distracted, setting her up for a brutal finishing manoeuvre.

A hype package for the main event then plays us into the interviews. Peggy Lee Leather complains about the outside interference and asks for a rematch. The Glamour Girls cackle and bounce around excitedly, psyching themselves up for their match against the Giant Slayers.

We get to said match – for the trios’ title – after a second commercial break.

With tags in and out, this match is even rowdier and more chaotic than the opener, with the referee regularly struggling to keep track of the legal participants. Everyone gets a chance to shine and show of their signature moves, with Winona Little Heart even coming close to pinning Leilani Kai with a victory roll. In the end, however, the Glamour Girls are able to take advantage of a confused referee, who stops Desiree Petersen from coming to the aid of Susan Starr, having failed to see the tag because of a distraction from Liz Chase.

An ad for the merchandise catalogue serves as the transition to the interviews. The Giant Slayers angrily protest the result and demand Pat Patterson reverse the decision and hand them back their titles. The Glamour Girls gush over their victory and their interview eventually degenerates into incoherent hooting and hollering.

Another commercial break then brings us to our second season match, with Penny Mitchell set to take on Luna Vachon.

Luna Vachon arrives to the match in her debut attire, having done away with her monstrous costume, and tries to fight a clean and technical match. Unfortunately for her, Penny Mitchell – with Candi Devine in her corner – is in no mood to cooperate and cheats like the devil. The result is an ugly affair that ends with a bruised and beaten Luna Vachon put in her place by Penny Mitchell.

We then get a brief clip of a post-match interview with Medusa Miceli from last week, agreeing that the finish of the world title match was in question and claiming she was up for a rematch. After that, we move on to the interviews. Luna Vachon appears on the verge of tears throughout her interview but vows to improve herself and come back swinging. The two women know each other quite well and try their best to put on an epic performance. They pace themselves well and battle competitively through the first commercial break.

When we return, the tide of the match begins to turn, and the second half of the contest becomes a showcase for the world champ. Misty Blue Simmes manages to kick out of one German suplex but fails to pull off a finishing move of her own and goes down to a second German suplex.

We open this week with promotional video detailing the recent rebounding success of Wendi Richter before transition to the television title match. Winona Little Heart looks supremely confident as she attempts to defend her championship from Penny Mitchell.

Within minutes, it becomes clear that Penny Mitchell is determined to win by hook or by crook as she – along with her partner Candi Devine ringside – finds every opportunity to cheat available to her. Soon enough, Winona Little Heart has her hands full, as do her stablemates at ringside, and she is forced onto the backfoot.

In a familiar beat for the champ, she goes high risk to put an end to the affair but eats canvas for her trouble ending up in prime position for a brutal submission manoeuvre.

A music video then plays, showing off the company’s roster and its last few shows as a way to plug regular and VIP tickets. After that, we head to the interviews. Winona Little Heart is fuming over her loss and demands a rematch, whereas Penny Mitchell is overwhelmed with glee and declares herself to be on the path to success.

A commercial break then takes us to the first season match of the night, with Rockin’ Robin taking on Liz Chase. Despite the constant interference of the Glamour Girls, only partially thwarted by Jamie West, this manage goes very differently to the opener, with Rockin’ Robin holding the advantage throughout and getting to show off her moveset.

A hype package for the main event then plays us into the interviews. The Glamour Girls rant and rave, almost screaming themselves raw, and promise that they’ll make sure Judy Martin wins her season after the break. The Star Girls push over the victory and then chat excitedly about the tag team division and their prospects going forward.

A commercial break then takes us to the next season match, with Judy Martin taking on Mad Maxine. The dynamics of this showdown are odd from the start, as Mad Maxine brutalises Judy Martin, who is only kept alive by her allies at ringside, and even manages to deliver blows to the other Glamour Girls. However, as the match draws on, Mad Maxine pivots to a babyface role as her straightforward tactics begin to falter in the context of the constant interference and rule-breaking of her opposition.

Eventually, Despina Montagas matches to get the referee’s attention long enough for Leilani Kai to take Mad Maxine down with a top rope clothesline.

Before the interviews we get a brief clip of a few of the company’s babyfaces at a sponsored charity event. Mad Maxine cuts her interview short, threatening to attack the staff during a full-blown meltdown. The Glamour Girls, on the other hand, revel in the limelight and congratulate themselves for their crafty tactics.

A commercial break then takes us to our final season match of the night, where Lisa Moretti is taking on Selina Majors. The imbalance between the two opponents is obvious from the beginning. After dominating the match in the early rounds, however, Lisa Moretti eventually becomes overconfident and pays for it when Selina Majors is able to take advantage of her showboating with a dropkick that sends her tumbling out of the ring.

After that embarrassment, Lisa Moretti plays heavily into her heel side and makes her opponent’s life a living hell. Selina Majors gives it her all but eventually she is worn down and put in her place with the former world champion’s signature move.

We don’t have time for interviews, so we go straight from one last hype package for the main event to a commercial break.

When we return, we get elaborate entrances for both challenger and champion but Wendi Richter makes sure to milk hers as she so loves to do, riling Babyface Nellie up and driving the crowd rabid with hate. Once the match starts, Wendi Richter has to contend with an early burst of ferocity from Babyface Nellie but is eventually able to turn things to her advantage and begins stalling and cheating with abandon.

After the first commercial break, however, the match takes on a more competitive character as both women become nervous about their inability to put the other away. Babyface Nellie comes remarkably close to a win after a running knee drop connects but Wendi Richter is able to kick out milliseconds before the three-count. The challenger then gives the match away with a brief show of teary exasperation that allows the champ to throttle her and bring up her for a powerbomb.

We open hot this week, with Velvet McIntyre and Leilani Kai going after each other. The commentators explain that the television title match has been moved to the main event, during the opening rounds as these two ladies lay into each other. Medusa Miceli is in Velvet McIntyre’s corner to act as a counterweight for the Glamour Girls, who do their utmost to interfere and give Leilani Kai the advantage.

With Velvet McIntyre still suffering moments of hesitation, we get a very competitive back-and-forth that goes full pelt into a commercial break. We return to find both women exhausted and looking for a big move to end the fight. Leilani Kai gets a very close near-fall but, in the end, Velvet McIntyre manages to get over herself and pull off her finishing move cleanly. The pinfall comes as Medusa Miceli rushes into the ring and clobbers Judy Martin and Despina Montagas with a double clothesline.

An extended promotional video, showing off the company’s merchandise and its corporate sponsors, plays us into the interviews. The Glamour Girls are outraged and claim that Medusa Miceli illegally interfered in their match. Velvet McIntyre is generally pleased with herself but appears a little spooked when it is revealed that she will face the winner of tonight’s main event next week. Medusa Miceli tries to psyche her partner up before we go the second commercial break.

We return to the action with KC Houston facing off against Vicky Carranza. Both women struggle to gain the advantage, but KC Houston makes sure to cheat wherever she can. This plays into the finish when Lady Apache complains to the referee about her tactics, inadvertently allowing her to wallop Vicky Carranza with some brass knuckles she’d been hiding in her gear.

A hype package for the main event then plays before we get to the interviews. Vicky Carranza is nursing an injured head, so Lady Apache speaks for her, swearing bloody revenge on the woman responsible. KC Houston pretends that she did nothing wrong and calls Lady Apache a “rabid dog” when told of her comments.

Another commercial break then takes us to our penultimate match, with Susan Starr facing Linda Dallas. This match is a lot cleaner than the previous offerings, since Linda Dallas possesses a technical advantage and therefore feels no need to cheat.

Whilst Susan Starr gets a few moments of shine and even manages to frustrate her opponent’s attempts to secure a quick victory, the match primarily functions as a showcase of Linda Dallas and her move set, culminating in a very painful-looking finish, with babyface on the verge of tears.

A promotional package hyping up the rematch between Lisa Moretti and Medusa Miceli, being hosted by WCPW, then serves as the transition to the next round of interviews. The Giant Slayers comfort Susan Starr and talk her up, pledging to train her up for the next time she faces Linda Dallas. The Nasty Girls, likewise, display a lot of camaraderie but theirs comes with an air of disdain for all the other girls on the roster.

A commercial break then brings us to the main event. Both girls get fairly elaborate entrances with lightshows and Penny Mitchell is accompanied by Candi Devine, though she is ushered away by staff prior to the bell ringing. The feeling out process sets the tone and pace of the match to follow, with both competitors taking each other very seriously. The commentators speculate that this is bad news for the newly crowned champ, since she might’ve been expected the challenger to underestimate her.

We get a few safe two-counts prior to the commercial break but it’s only once they both become thoroughly familiar with each other that the action really heats up, with near-falls and big moves shared evenly between the two wrestlers. Towards the end, Lisa Moretti kicks into overdrive, something Penny Mitchell is unable to match, and the result is the champion being batter from pillar to post until the finish.

We kick off our show tonight with a thumping music video and a showy pyro display before heading down to the television title match. Velvet McIntyre has her work cut out for her, being forced to challenge Lisa Moretti – still visibly pissed off from her failure to regain of the world championship.

The challenger is on the backfoot from the word go and we get a dominant display from Lisa Moretti. Velvet McIntyre only begins to catch her breath after the commercial break, eventually managing to take advantage of the fact that her opponent is unwilling to pin her and simply desperate to inflict as much pain on her as possible.

Just as the tide begins to turn, however, Lisa Moretti is spooked by the change in pace and decides to go for the win. Velvet McIntyre manages to kick out of the first few big moves she gets hit with, but her comeback is brought to a violent end when her attempt at a hurricanrana is turned into a powerbomb.

A hype package for the tag team battle royal plays before we get to the interviews. Velvet McIntyre is despondent, but Medusa Miceli tries to cheer her up by pointing out how formidable Lisa Moretti was. The champ, for her part, promises to use her position to prove she deserves another crack at the world title on her terms – specifically a steel cage match.

The second commercial break then takes us through to a season match, between Winona Little Heart and Kat LeRoux. This match is a refreshing change of pace, with a lot of crowd interaction and squabbling at ringside. Both women are given plenty of time on top and get to show off their signature moves. In the end, though it could’ve gone either way, Winona Little Heart secures the victory.

A hype package for Wendi Richter plays, making much of the fact that she has two back-to-back matches to fight tonight. After that, we get to the interviews. The Nasty Girls stomp about a bit and then rant – somewhat amused by their own antics – about the terrible “cheating tactics” of the Giant Slayers. The Giant Slayers themselves simply gush over the win and big up their chances in the battle royal.

A third commercial break brings us to said battle royal and we watch the teams trickle in. The reigning champions, Misty Blue Simmes and Heidi Lee Morgan, are faced with, the former Monsters Rhonda Singh and Reggie Bennett, the Glamour Girls in the form of Leilani Kai and Judy Martin, the Star Girls, the Nasty Girls and the Giant Slayers Desiree Petersen and Selina Majors.

The first fifteen minutes feature pure chaos, with a massive brawl that only sees Judy Martin and Jamie West eliminated. After the commercial break, however, when fatigue is starting to set in for many of the competitors, things become more tactical. Misty Blue Simmes and Heidi Lee Morgan are high-value targets and get eliminated in short order, heightening the drama of the match. Without their partners, Leilani Kai and Rockin’ Robin also struggle to hold their own and eventually wind up on the ringside floor.

The finish sees Rhonda Singh and Reggie Bennett coax the Nasty Girls into teaming up against the Giant Slayers, only to take advantage and dump all four of their opponents out at once.

An ad-filled promotional video then plays us into the interview with the winners. Rhonda Singh and Reggie Bennett wave their titles around and make a pledge to never give them up and then we head to commercial break before we get to the penultimate match.

Within minutes of the opening bell, it is clear that Babyface Nellie has been practicing for this rematch against Wendi Richter. The challenger seems to have a counter for every move in the champ’s repertoire and the result is a fast-paced and highly competitive match that forces Wendi Richter to pull out all the stops. More importantly, once we get past the commercial break, it becomes increasingly obvious that Wendi Richter is being pushed to the point of exhaustion – a point that the commentators hone in on.

Babyface Nellie tries to become the most of having enraged and exhausted her opposition, but she struggles to match the pure ferocity of the champion. The finish, therefore, is somewhat predictably as the champ goes to the well and brings her opponent hurtling to the ringside floor before dragging her in for a lazy pinfall.

One last hype package for the main event then plays us into the interviews. Babyface Nellie claims she was “this close” to dethroning the champion but just couldn’t match her opponent’s savage offence. Wendi Richter irritably rebukes the suggestion that her exhaustion will put her at a disadvantage in the main event, even as she struggles to get her words out between breaths and promises to hospitalise Medusa Miceli.

A commercial break then takes us to the elaborate entrances for the main event. Instead of milking an entrance to infuriate Wendi Richter, Medusa Miceli gets it over with quickly in an effort to take advantage of the challenger’s lack of proper rest and recuperation.

The opening, then, is a sprint, with the champ trying to bring things to an early conclusion and the challenger fighting for dear life. There are two near falls before the commercial break but, ultimately Wendi Richter manages to power through. After the break, Medusa Miceli is faced with a powerbomb out of nowhere that almost costs her the title just as quickly.

The finish comes after a nasty ringside brawl. Wendi Richter drags Medusa Miceli into the corner for a super powerbomb. Coyly, Medusa Miceli allows herself to be taken up for the move before raining down a series of strikes on the challenger’s head. Weakened and groggy, Wendi Richter is then in prime position to be finished off.
