  1. Stills of Bam Bam/Taz II

Bam Bam Bigelow promo vowing revenge.

Taz promo talking about how Bam Bam won't take responsibility for his loss at the ppv. Then talks about Douglas being a fraud

Highlights from Taz v Sabu at Barely Legal

Clips from another Taz v. Sabu, this time Sabu wins by rolling through on the Tazmission. Post match Taz guarantees he will tap Shane Douglas in three minutes or less. This is all old hat as the show is built around the history of this storyline.

    Taz v. Shane Douglas

Taz wins tv belt in less than 3 minutes

Stills from Storm v. Candido at Heavwave

    Lance Storm promo

Clips of Tanaka v. Awesome feud

Mike Awesome promo. Boy his promos really sucked

Stills from Credible v. Lynn at Heatwave

    Justin Credible promo.

Stills from Tag Title match at Heatwave

    RVD/Sabu/Fonzy promo.

Highlights from pre-ppv brawl involving Jack victory, the Dudz, New Jack, et.

Gertner/Dudz promo saying New Jack will not be at the ppv.

    Stills from Dudz v. Dreamer/Sandman

Douglas cuts a paranoid promo about being surrounded by enemies trying to get a shot at that title and Taz.

Lance Storm in the ring cutting promo on why Sunny is barred from ringside for his match with Candido and then says he's going to fuck Sunny later.

    Lance Storm v. Chris Candido

Heavily clipped. Some decent spots in this. Candido goes to the tights and pulls a chain for a nearfall which made me smile. Storm wins after a nutshot and suplerplex

    Lance Storm promo.

Gertner/Dudz promo. Dudz issue open challenge

Taz v. Sabu v. Bam Bam Bigelow

Heavily clipped. Bam Bam joins in when they are fighting on the stage, so they make this a three way dance. I have seen this in full, and this is edited in a very favorable fashion. Even still it is more "fun" than good.

Jerry Lynn v. Rob Van Dam

This is these guys working out their dance routine. Actually decent for what it was. Edited up.

    Gertner promo.

  2. That Douglas v. Whipwreck match that only got one vote is mine. It was a fancam from 2/95 that Johndust had on his best of 95 FanCam set he circulated for the poll. That falls under the "Dylan will fight for this" category of nominations.

Something like Funk v. Gilbert in the Chain Match - which I think is the best ECW match from 93 - only got 2 votes and finished near the bottom. I don't think it's even a top two hundred ECW match. But it's the ONLY (complete) match from 93 I can even fathom making the "top matches" part of the set. Meanwhile Funks v. PE only got two points but finished at 100 - that's not even a GOOD match. I have no problem with that as Extra, but to me the idea of that knocking a more deserving match off the list is fucking ridiculous. I am certain every year should be represented, but how we spread things around is going to be a factor in the long run so it's worth discussing it now.

Ultimately I don't know if we can use any hard and fast rule. I got no problem reviewing the matches with one vote - I've watched most of them, if not all of them already. But that is only going to address part of the issues with this as there are footage issues that may spring up (I voted for it, but I've never seen that PG-13 v. Spike/Mikey match on the list in full to take one example, same with Funk v. Sabu from Holiday Hell 93), not to mention the huge problem that comes with the fact that had the voters seen the FanCams I have seen this thing would look totally different.

I think perhaps we should only exempt those matches that:

    a) finished in the top twenty-five

    or

    B) got at least four votes

Again I'm not certain that is the best thing either, but we've got to figure out some sort of methodology or way to nail down what we will be carrying over and how many places will be left for remaining matches from the footage we are currently watching.

  3. Joey Styles introduces Shane Douglas

Taz in ring promo. Taz promo recounting the early ECW tapings and how loyal the fanbase has been. Talks about Shane throwing down the NWA title and creating a new World title. Talks about Shane losing the title and jumping ship running to Vince. Says Shane saying his belt is fake is bullshit and that Shane isn't a real Franchise because of that. Compares his FTW belt to Shane raising Eastern title as World title. Says he made the TV belt. Finishes by calling out anyone to face him for the FTW title which brings out Bam Bam for an impromtu match. EXTRA

    Bam Bam Bigelow v. Taz

last about two mintutes, Taz signals for Tazmission which brings out Candido and Storm. Candido and Storm doing a rolling thunder variation which brings out RVD and Sabu to clear the ring. EXTRA

    Tommy Dreamer v. Bubba Dudley

This is heavily clipped, but what is shown is insanely brutal. Tommy takes a crazy chairshot, a nasty nut posting, and a fucking vertical suplex on the floor among other things. There is a great shot of him bleeding profusely as the fans lift him up to beat the ten count from the ref. Dreamer ends up hitting a wipe out plancha on all the seconds after they try and interfere. Finish is Jack Victory running in and eating a DDT before Dreamer gets blindsided by a guitar shot from Bubba.

    Sandman promo.

    D-Von v. Sandman

Heavily clipped. Some cool spots shown. Finish is Sandman stealing a fall with a side russian legsweep.

Finish of Big Dick beating Spike.

Lance Storm and Chris Candido playing trust exercise games and then a promo.

    Chris Candido/Lance Storm v. RVD/Sabu

JIP and heavily clipped. Pretty much all that is shown are big spots and the finish. RVD crowd bump and subsequent dive sequence was the only part of this I really liked. Finish is Storm turning on Candido

Pulp Fiction montage. RVD/Sabu, Dudleys, Tommy Dreamer (teary eyed and totally over the top)

    Finish of Bigelow/Taz I.

Taz promo talking about loss to Bammer. Very good promo.

Recap of Storm/Candido angle from previous week. Douglas who is on commentary "shoots" on Storm afterwords.

    Masato Tanaka/Jerry Lynn v. Mike Awesome/Justin Credible

Pretty good as a preview of two ppv matches. They build relatively slowly here but then the big spots really just come. Awesome is really hit or miss to me, but I thought his big splashes especially looked brutally stiff and impactful. Double plancha spot was pretty cool. This is just a hair short of a nomination, but I can't see it standing up to scrutiny when it is time to make a cut. EXTRA

    Big hype package for ppv.

  4. RVD/Sabu in ring with the tag belts.

RVD promo talking about having two titles.

Shane Douglas mid-ring promo, interrupted by Taz. Triple Threat jumps in the ring to confront him, but Storm jumps in between and says Taz ain't championship material. Taz bitchslaps Storm.

    Lance Storm v. Taz

Taz wins with relatively quick Tazmission. We have this on FanCam.

    Douglas promo.

    Mike Awesome v. Masato Tanka

We have it on FanCam. Not one of their better matches anyhow.

    Spike Dudley v. Ulf Herman

Squash for Spike. Post-match he destroys Lance Wright.

Clips from previous week with Dudz match.

Dudz mid ring promo where they tease that Funk is turning heel on Dreamer and Sandman as a way to get cheap heat. Pretty lame actually.

Wild brawl with Jack, Spike, Dreamer and Dudz. At the same time Taz and Bammer are brawling at the "announce location."

    Clips from previous week.

    Lance Storm/Chris Candido v. Blue Meanie/Super Nova

Pre-match Storm says he is refusing to work. Again we have this whole show on FanCam.

    Rob Van Dam/Sabu/Fonzy promo.

Clips from Onita appearance in ECW Arena.

New Jack promo on Jack Victory from a subway car.

    Highlights of Masato Tanaka matches.

    Tracy Smothers v. Masato Tanaka

This is not the match we have. Unfortunately it is also JIP. Basically what is shown is a hair more than the finish.

Taz promo saying he is going to use EZ Pass to come to Queens and beat his ass.

    Pablo Marquez/Jerry Lynn v. Jason/Justin Credible

Decent match. I actually think this is better edit than the FanCam though not enough to get it moving anywhere.

    Balls/Axl promo.

Lynn/Credible work in ring at same time Taz/Bammer brawl in "announce" area.

  5. Dreamer hits the ring and demands the Dudleys come out fight him. D-Von hits the ring first and Dreamer fends him off before the other Dudz hit. Balls/Axl/New Jack/Spike run out to save Dreamer.

    Clips of FBI v. Meanie/Nova

    Balls/Axl beating Dundee with chairs.

Taz destroying Dino Sendoff and some other dude and Pee Wee Moore. Taz calls out Bigelow and they brawl.

Clips of Sabu v. Ulf Herman

Clips of John Kronus v. Rob Van Dam

Clips of Lance Storm/Chris Candido v. Chris Chetti/Mikey Whipwreck

Chris Candido/Lance Storm interview backstage with Candido going crazy again.

Gertner/Dudz promo backstage. Lights go out and Dudz are attacked by Sandman, Dreamer, New Jack. Sign Guys leg gets smashed in a locker and he is shrieking while Gertner freaks out in a corner. Pretty amusing actually.

    Beulah music video.

Bubba in ring promo calling Beulah a whore, et.

    The Sandman v. Bubba Dudley

Sandman is really great in this, taking an asskicking and then laying one in himself. Bubba appears to get into it with a fan who turns out to be "Beulah's brother" which leads to a huge brawl with the whole locker room clearing out, Atlas Security getting involved, et. This is actually really well done. I'm not sure it really makes sense as an extra, but I enjoyed this.

In ring Triple Threat promo. Douglas shows off his elbow surgery scars and says that is what happens when you are a gladiator and not a sports entertainer. He calls out Taz and Taz comes out and confronts him. Taz cuts promo and then demands everyone clear the ring so he and Bammer can go at it.

    Balls Mahoney v. Masato Tanaka

This was pretty much their typical match. I have already nominated a couple and would not be averse to adding another just to see which is the best of the bunch, but I think this is clearly the worst. Has all of the stuff you would expect, but it really lacks flow and they don't really build to anything which they sort of do in the other matches. There is also some really shameless meandering to get into position stuff.

    Justin Credible promo.

    Fonzy/RVD promo.

Gertner/Dudz eulogize Beulah using blowup doll as prop and then demanding a ten bell salute.

    Dudleyz v. Sandman/Dreamer and a mystery partner

This has to go on the set. After several minutes "Wild Thing" hits and Onita comes out wearing a kimona type thing, with a barbed board. He hits the Dudz once or twice and then turns on Sandman and Dreamer. New Jack hits and tossing a trash can in the ring that hits Bubba right in the face. He goes to hit someone with a guitar but Jack Victory blindsides him. Onita leaves the ring and Spike runs in to try and help and gets tossed through a table. Sandman gets bloodied to shit under the barbed wire board. The ref refuses to count the fall so Jeff Jones knocks him out. Ortiz refuses to announce the winner. This was shockingly good stuff. EXTRA

    Chris Candido/Lance Storm v. RVD/Sabu

This is JIP. This is a title switch to RVD/Sabu. It's got a couple of edits in it. Some really big spots in this, but not a great or even really good match.

  6. I liked this a good bit. This was really different than their other matches in that the pace was a lot slower and the big spots were well built to. You could quibble a bit with this and say that there weren't a ton of submission attempts and the ref didn't have a live mic. But other than that I thought this was a pretty strong match. Credible is usually a guy I find boring offensively, but here he looked solid and in control on offense and his big spots looked great, especially the Razor's Edge and the reverse ddt through the table (which looked like it nearly killed Lynn). Credible's big bumping segment didn't come til late, and was sort of subdued by his standards, but it set up a great plancha from Lynn. Really thought the selling of the big moves was good in this and even the interference of Credible's lackies seemed appropriate and didn't hurt the flow of the match. Finish with Lynn hitting the tombstone and then stretching out Credible for a submission was good.

  7. First thirty minutes of this disc is identical to the tail end of the last disc.

Triple Threat in ring promo. Douglas says the ECW Arena is the house he built, calls out Van Dam, challenges RVD/Sabu to a tag match against him and Candido.

    Clips of Taz/Triple Threat feud.

Clips of RVD interactions with Candido/Storm/et. over previous weeks.

    Shane Douglas/Chris Candido v. RVD/Sabu

This is clipped. Douglas arm gets attacked by RVD and then Taz knocking him out of the match. Bammer ends up running out and brawling with Taz, while RVD/Sabu put Candido through a table for the pin. Last image is Taz getting thrown a car window outside.

Bubba promo mid-ring mocking fans for marking for the stuttering Bubba gimmick.

The Sandman/ v. Bubba Dudley (Street Fight)

Clipped and basically all that is shown is stuff that happens once the run-in train starts. Essentially this becomes a strange WarGames style street fight with people coming out it in odd intervals. Jack Victory is out first and takes multiple table bumps from Dreamer who brings out barbed wire. D-Von is out next. Then Spike with a ladder which he takes a crazy leap off of. Big Dick is in. Then New Jack runs out last. Bubba blocks a guitar shot but ends up eating a bunch of other plunder shots. Several guys get bumped with a shopping cart. New Jack goes for the diving chair shot and gets hit in the gut with a guitar by Victory on the way down. This actually might be a decent Extra in this clipped form it is in. EXTRA

    Fonzy v. Beluah

This was shown as part of the "Beulah is seriously hurt" storyline. This is still as awesome as the first time I saw it.

Justin Credible v. Jerry Lynn (I Quit)

    Clips of Douglas/Taz feud.

  8. Clips of Sabu/RVD feud over the years

    Lance Storm/RVD v. Sabu/Chris Candido

A tiny bit of this was cut, and there is too much shitty looking RVD offense, weak looking Lance Storm shit, and Sabu blowing stuff to nominate this, but this was fun and a lot better than I would have thought. Had a real escalating feel to it, which I always like. Dive train in this was really good looking and the build to the table spot was way better than the average ECW match. Really loved Candido in this one as he was a total bump freak and kept the match moving along every time it looked like it might slide right off the rails. Good looking punches to. Finish with RVD/Sabu slowly working together to beatdown Storm/Candido was pretty good too. We should have this in full, but the edited version is a lot better.

this appears to be the end of one show which is bizarre.

FBI and Meanie/Nova are in the ring about to have a dance off when Taz music hit. Of course Taz destroys everyone including Rich. Bigelow jumps into the ring and they brawl before they cut to opening video.

clips from previous weeks dream tag match.

    RVD v. Lance Storm

JIP. This was passable. Sabu runs out and helps RVD win. We have this on FanCam.

Clips of Jack Victory heel turn on New Jack. Sucker punch on Jack when he's got guitar up was pretty cool. Then Victory beat him to shit with a guitar.

    Gertner's intro of Dudleys

    Dudleys v. Dreamer/Sandman/Spike

We have this on FanCam. Spike is really great in this, bumping huge, selling his ass off, bleeding big, et. This actually comes across better on tv in some ways, but with the New Jack run-in I can't see nominating it and it doesn't feel like something that fits as an Extra. Still fun.

    Jamie Dundee v. John Kronus

Pre-match Dundee calls Kronus a retard. Quick match. Fun for what it was.

Clips of Dudz/Jack Victory destroying the faces the previous week

Clips of Dreamer/Raven/Beaulah angle from 96.

Promo with Dudleys outside ambulance carrying Beulah. D-Von comes out of claiming he got crabs from Beulah. Creepy.

Triple Threat promo backstage followed by in ring Triple Threat promo that is cut off.

  9. This week is the calm before the storm, as aside from Thurs I have a rally loaded work week. Probably be doing about three shows a day until Monday when you can expect me to go batshit crazy. It's possible next week could have some 10 disc days - maybe more, as a lot of this stuff can be flown through due to FanCam rehashed matches/repeat segments/recaps from previous shows/et.

Also Will, how big is that next batch of FanCams looking to be?

  10. Show One

Gertner/Dudleyz standard heel promo opening the show.

    Chris Chetti v. Danny Doring

Taz is on commentary. Taz leaves the booth and demands the sound guy hit his music. Taz runs in and destroys both guys and is taken out of the arena in handcuffs.

    Sabu v. Chris Chetti

This is JIP. Really liked the table spot as Chetti took a natural looking bump into it and got wiped out. Also Chetti's springboard clothesline looked brutal. Chetti got a lot of this and was made to look like a real equal of Sabu. Fun match.

FBI beat the shit out of Nova and Meanie, wipe their makeup off, viciously beat them with chairs, et. This was a really awesome segment, but no need for two of these on this set and Cyberslam 98 is a lock.

Triple Threat interrupt Jamie Dundee v. Lance Storm before it starts. Candido cuts a long rambling promo saying that the Triple Threat has thought about it and they were just testing Lance Storm the first time and want him to join the Triple Threat. Storm turns them down so Douglas grabs the mic and runs down the list of guys who have been in the Triple Threat. Storm agrees to join but then nails Candido with his tag title.

Lance Storm v. Bam Bam Bigelow

This is clipped. Storm gets press slammed onto his face into the crowd. Storm getting buried by Bigelow under wooden chairs looked brutal.

Doug Furnas v. Rob Van Dam

This has some cool shit. Liked the moonsault into reverse ddt spot on the floor a lot as for once it didn't look fake. Fonzy and RVD going through the table together was cool. Just win this is starting to get good Sabu runs in and fucks this shit up.

Promo with Bill Alfonzo backstage saying RVD/Sabu will not feud.

Pulp Fiction montage. Basically dueling promos with Candido/Storm setting up another dream opponent match. Candido is really great in this. He ends up picking Sabu after Storm says he can't pick a Triple Threat partner. Storm picks RVD and there is a bizarre moment as these two are standing shirtless in bathroom. You can't see below their waste at all and RVD is talking about how Storm just rubbed his bottle and out came a genie.....

    Show Two

Taz video package which Taz interrupts with mid-ring promo. Taz unveils the FTW title. Taz calls out Douglas, but Bammer comes out. Bigelow shit talks Taz says the only way he will get to Douglas is through him. Refs run in to break up the fight and Bigelow tosses Pee Wee Moore into the crowd. This is a solid Extra.EXTRA

    Justin Credible v. Jerry Lynn

We have this on FanCam. I nominated. Mostly notable for crazy bumps from Credible. FanCam version is the better of the two.

    Sabu v. Danny Doring

    Okay for what it was.

    Axl/Balls promo.

Shane Douglas promo via "satellite" from Pittsburgh putting over Triple Threat.

    Jc Ice v. Chris Candido

This is JIP. We have it in full. Fun little match.

Rob Van Dam v. Mikey Whipwreck

JIP. Good mach ruined by run-in train.

  11. Show One

    Styles runs down Wrestlepalooza card.

Clip of Douglas throwing down the NWA title. This is an obvious Extra, but there is better, fuller footage of it elsewhere.

    Shane Douglas music video.

    Clips from Balls/Axl v. Storm/Candido Dec. 97.

Clips of Bam Bam ambush job on Taz from months back/Candido turn on Storm. This is followed by the Heyman hotline excerpts regarding Storm/Candido tag team and more clips of Storm/Candido dissension.

    Video package/clips of Dreamer/Credible/Mikey storyline.

Another clip of Gertner intro promo from two weeks before.

Clips of Sandman/Dreamer v. Dudz feud

    Clips of Bam Bam/Taz/RVD/Sabu stuff.

    Clips of Al Snow/Douglas feud/storyline.

    Show Two

Al Snow promo talking about his bad luck run and how everything in his career was building to his title shot against Douglas. Leads into Al Snow music video.

Shane Douglas in ring promo from Wrestlepalooza. Douglas shoots on Michaels, Flair, et. This was actually a fun promo. Taz interrupts him and says he is the uncrowned World champ. He demands Shane hand the title to him. Taz attacks Douglas and leaves through the crowd.

Backstage promo with Douglas. Really good Douglas promo on his match with Al Snow putting over importance of the title.

Stills from Douglas v. Snow and the post-match celebration.

Stephen DeTruth backstage promo with Francine discussing condition of Shane Douglas.

    Sunny promo.

    Promo with Fonzy/Sabu backstage

    Promo with RVD/Fonzy backstage.

Axl/Balls promo from empty Cobb County Civic Center

Sit down interview with Al Snow. He gets up and walks away.

Clips/Finish of Snow v. Douglas shown.

  12. Show One

Gertner introduces the Buschwackers as the a new Dudleyz variation. Real Dudz come up from behind and destroy Sandman/Dreamer before a real match can start. We have this on FanCam. Might be worthwhile as a really marginal Extra choice just for weirdness of it all. EXTRA

Highlights of previous weeks RVD title win over Bigelow and subsequent promo with Sabu/RVD/Fonzy/Heyman.

FanCam footage of Sabu wrestling Fatu when RVD runs in

Video of Sandman being taken into ambulance due to Dudz ambush job.

    Lance Storm/Chris Candido v. Balls Mahoney/Axl Rotten

JIP. We have this on FanCam in full and it wasn't that good there.

    Lance Storm v. Chris Candido

impromptu match started immediately after previous tag bout. Again we have this in full on FanCam and it's not much.

    Hype for ppv

Replay of attack on Sandman/Dreamer and more ambulance footage of Sandman

FanCam footage of Triple Threat in parking lot with Candido going crazy bragging about beating everyone up

Triple Threat hit the ring and destroy John Kronus. Douglas gets on the mic and berates Chris Chetti who is in the ring talking about how Chetti is spoiled and didn't have to go through the shit he went through. Taz comes out and Chetti tries to get him to leave so Taz beats his ass. Shane ends up challenging Taz to break his arm claiming the company will go down the shitter if he has to forfeit the title he holds. Taz teases leaving and then suckers Douglas and snaps his arm. Triple Threat fight off Taz as the show goes off the air.

    Show Two

Gertner lead in promo. Really good stuff as Gertner shits on Sandman/Dreamer while covering the recent history and talking shit on Sandman's family.

    Hype package for Wrestlepalooza ppv.

Taz mid-ring promo with Styles. Heyman tries to cut off Taz mic and Taz goes ballistic. Promo is fun but rambling as hell as he randomly shits on the crowd for wanting Benoit/Malenko back and then threatens Styles and ultimately suckers him. Fun but bizarre.

Pre-match promo from FBI. Tommy Rich is fucking hilarious as he is ranting about Gordon Solie, talking about Saturday Night Fever, calling Meanie fat boy, et. He demands a pre-match dance off. Then he calls Meanie Chubby Checker before he dances. They blindside the babyfaces.

Clip of New Jack beating Droz.

    Justin Credible in ring promo.

Taz destroying Pee Wee Moore. This was cool as he squashed Moore through a table and then choked him out on the floor.

Clips of Bam Bam v. RVD. Bammer wipes out RVD and tosses Fonzy into the crowd.

Clips of Dudz trying to attack Beulah and Sandman clearing the ring. Brief Sandman promo.

    Brief Francine promo.

    Axl Rotten v. Chris Candido

This was a really solid tv match. Both guys sold their ass off and bumped for the others offense. Naturally Candido's selling was more cartoony but that is what you want from him. Huge bump over the top from Chris. Really loved the punch exchange on the floor. The stuff at the finish with Francine was tiresome and I really didn't care for Balls/Axl being destroyed by Bammer/Candido post-match as it made no sense from the perspective of building to the ppv.

    Al Snow v. Sabu

Holy shit the top rope frankenstiner through table spot looks really fucking brutal in this. Sabu really unloads everything on Snow in this but this Snow's time to be put over as World title contender for Douglas so that isn't shocking. Snow Asai really was crazy for a guy his size. Finish was really stupid as RVD causes distraction on attempted Snow plow through table and then RVD throws in the towel. Just a terrible finish.

    Spike Dudley v. Bubba Dudley

This is clipped but looks to be their typical solid match. Spike takes some crazy bumps, hits his flip plancha and bleeds badly. Bubba takes a really sick bulldog on the concrete which was unexpected. At one point Bubba just stands on Spike with all of his weight which looks really sick. Spike hits Acid Drop but D-Von and Big Dick run in. This brings out Kronus and New Jack for a wild brawl.

    Al Snow v. Chris Candido

Clipped. Primary purpose was to establish Snow for Douglas at ppv.

    Justin Credible v. Mikey Whipwreck

JIP. we have this in full as a FanCam. Good match with Mikey showing strong fire and Credible bumping well. Mikey was hometown kid here and they were putting that over hard to the point where Jason actually started a fucking Mikey chant over house mic while heeling mid-match. Mikey's comeback off of top rope rana looked really great. Heel ref Jeff Jones comes out after top rope whippersnapper and then of course the run-in train with Credible's goons.

Rob Van Dam v. Bam Bam Bigelow

This is the famous Van Dam title win and will be represented on the set via SC top 100/common sense.

    Too Cold Scorpio/Sandman v. FBI

This was fun, but needed less Jeff Jones bullshit at the end. Scorp did a bunch of cool shit in this and the jaw jacking segment with Smothers and Scorp was really great, but this falls a bit short of nomination status.

    Justin Credible v. Tommy Dreamer

Bunch of huge early bumps from Credible. This was actually pretty good and then the run-in train starts with Jason, Beulah, Chastity, Mikey, et. Post match heels beatdown Dreamer.

    Jerry Lynn/Chris Chetti v. Chris Candido/Lance Storm v. Bam Bam Bigelow/Shane Douglas

What a ridiculous match. At one point Storm and Candido are both legal and fighting each other. Douglas works for a few minutes with his belt on. This is well clipped and made to look like a fairly decent match though too much is cut.

    Danny Doring/Roadkill v. FBI v. Axl Rotten/Balls Mahoney

Pre-match Doring promo is boring as fuck. Axl and Balls come out and Axl cuts a promo setting up a three way dance which they start off with chairshots. This is pretty heavily clipped but what is shown is a lot of fun, with some nasty chairshots and big bumps. Guido mocking the Balls chant was hilarious. Smothers takes the finally fall with from Balls.

    Triple Threat promo

    Jerry Lynn/Chris Chetti v. Lance Storm/Chris Candido

Another one that is clipped. Lots of back and fourth stuff with Storm/Candido. Good Candido vertical suplex. Candido really makes Chetti's offense look great before botching a spot badly. Post-match Balls/Axl come out and lay out the champs, which leads to Triple Threat coming out and laying out Axl/Balls.

Clips of Taz beating up Marquez in Queens

Taz confronts Bigelow mid-ring at ECW Arena congratulates him on winning belt from him fair and square.

    Sandman v. Bam Bam Bigelow

clipped of course. Sandman ends up bringing out a ladder and takes an insane bump into it. Sandman canes Bigelow in his bloody eye which is sick. Man they beat each other to shit with the ladder. Sandman gets caught on corner splash attempt and hit with Greetings From Asbury Park for finish.

Al Snow v. Rob Van Dam

Clipped up. Fun spotfest from what is shown. Snow's Asai moonsault into the crowd was semi-shocking to me. Sabu ends up costing rVD the match and RVD and Sabu argue while the ring is showered with heads.

  15. This was an awesome car crash match with balls to the wall action. There was a clip in this so it's hard to say how much we missed, but what was shown was really good stuff. Scorp and RVD worked a really slick counter exchange early, but on the whole this was just a wild fight. Sabu and Sandman pairing was just hitting each other with reckless bombs, not all of which looked clean, but all of which looked potentially deadly. RVD and Scorp pairing was interesting primarily due to Scorp's selling and bumping which was great. Seriously he made RVD punches look awesome and took an insane face plant bump on the floor as well. Really cool spot in this with Sandman tossing Sabu onto the other two on the floor and then hitting a huge plancha onto them all. Table spot in this was nuts as Sabu missed it on the initial shot and then hit it the second time and took insane falls both times. Lots of misdirection stuff with teasers before the finish. This was as good a match of this kind as you are going to see.

  16. I really loved this match. FBI essentially work as faces here, though they still engage in some heel antics with Rich suckering Storm on the floor and the like. Candido/Storm were working an early version of "tag partners that don't get along" so there was a lot of teased dissension but nothing that hindered the work. In fact it enhanced the match as you bought the FBI as a threat which normally you might not have. Storm clearly looked the worst out of everyone in this but no one looked bad. Really loved Guido busting out a frankensteiner of all things early, and man were the Smothers/Candido exchanges good. They busted out a lot of the stuff from the SMW playbook, including some great rope running spots, a really cool series with Candido hitting his tope rope rana, but missing his diving headbutt, a great chop exchange in the corner with Smothers lighting him up and spitting in Chris face after getting the same treatment a second earlier, and a cool spot on the floor built around Candido avoiding his staple through the ropes double boot. Build to the finish was really cool as well, with a teased superbomb from Storm, a cool double leapfrog spot from the heels, et. Finish itself was fairly weak, but this was still a very strong match.

    Sabu v. Sandman

This is from the ppv. Pre-match RVD and Sabu ambush Sandman to get the upperhand for Sabu. Sandman takes some big shit in this, including a nasty dive through a table and his typical flip bump into the guardrail. Sandman's selling and hope spots were really great in this. Sabu who hits a triple jump moonsault on the ramp way. Sabu ends up getting whipped into a table, which also knocks down the ref. Van Dam runs out and does some weird shit that knocks Sandman for a loop and breaks a table that Sabu was on. Heels double up on Sandman including a rolling thunder.

This was an awesome car crash match with balls to the wall action. There was a clip in this so it's hard to say how much we missed, but what was shown was really good stuff. Sandman/Tommy Dreamer v. D-von/Bubba Dudley v. New Jack/John Kronus v. RVD/Sabu(clipped)

Opening exchange is pretty fun as Sandman clears the ring with a serious of armdrags and hip tosses. Dudz bail say Sandman hit a plancha onto both of them and then Dreamer follows with one of his own. Dreamer does a Fujiwara armbar and then we get a clip. Back in the ring Big Dick hits a chokeslam and here comes New Jack and John Kronus. And this turns into a three way dance. Another clip and D-Von is going through a table mid-ring. Sabu and RVD come out to fight with Jack and Kronus. Another clip. Eliminations start coming. Credible attacks Mikey in the upper deck and Dreamer abandons Sandman to RVD/Sabu.

Beulah promo/Dreamer video package putting over how tough Dreamer is.

    Sabu/RVD/Brakkus v. Axl/Balls/Tommy Dreamer

Pre-match Jason comes out and tells Dreamer he had nothing to do with Credible's comments and here comes Credible who he chases out of the arena and into the streets. Back in the ring and man these guys are stiffing each other. RVD takes a crazy powerbomb from Axl and then RVD kicks him as hard as he can in the face. Brakkus runs in and the heels quickly demolish the faces.

    Rob Van Dam/Sabu v. Axl Rotten/Balls Mahoney

Sabu's jaw is taped up and Balls keeps tagging it with nasty punches and kicks. Really loved the table spot in this as Van Dam held Balls in place and the bump really looked massive. Sabu and RVD hit a total elimination which brings out Kronus to clear the ring for the non-finish.

    Al Snow v. Doug Furnas

This is shot in that ultra-annoying "Head TV" format with lots of really violent cuts/shaking and blurred out camera that stutters a bit. Furnas hits some cool shit including his frankensteiner and a powerslam. Snow hits a really neat looking neckbreaker on the ropes. Snow takes a brutal looking tombstone. Snow wins with head assistance than beats Lance Wright's ass and post-match the crowd buries Wright in heads.

Sandman and Dreamer are out to wrestle the Dudz but Sandman grabs the mic and talks about Dreamer's grand dad who had just died. They do a ten bell salute and Credible runs out and grabs the mic and says that he wishes Dreamer had died instead of his worthless grandpa. Dudz and Sandman try and hold Tommy back as Jason and Credible argue back to the dressing room.

  20. Don't think this made the SC top 100, but it should have and it is solid nomination for the set. Both guys are just bump freaks in this and RVD as bump freak is pretty much the only good RVD. Early Bigelow dominates with faceplanting bumps and powerbombs and chairshots on RVD. Then Bigelow does this really awesome rana counter off the guardrail and Bigelow takes a flip bump onto the guardrail and then a bump over the guardrail backwards off a kick. Then Van Dam vaults over the guardrail onto him. That whole sequence is great and followed up by a RVD dive that is really awesome as he sort of recklessly leaps with his whole body flailing like a little kid diving into the deep end for the first time. Then RVD hits Bigelow with a diving clothesline for another backward bump over the guardrail by Bigelow that leads to yet another great RVD dive. The Van Dam offensive section in the ring is really sloppy, but it culminates with him taking a huge cross ring bump off of a slingshot. Really loved the spot with RVD fighting off a suplex attempt, so Bammer just drops him on his head with a DDT. Bigelow takes a huge flip senton bump off the top to set up brief comeback, but Bam Bam just takes a chair and tosses it right into RVD's face at maximum velocity. Shitty botched Van Daminator ref bump spot that I forgive only because Van Dam follows up with his staple flying bump into the crowd. Candido runs in and gets Greetings From Asbury Park and then Tammy and Francine run in (Francine's dress actually falls off before she even gets in the ring). Van Dam steals win after Douglas distraction spot. This has a lot of silly shit, but it is one of Bammer's better ECW matches, and has some insane bumping.

  21. Lots of cool shit in this and it was almost all Scorpio. Early mat looks tight due to Scorp tying Taz up like a pretzel. Scorp takes all the big bumps in this including getting tossed into the second row, a couple of head bumps off of Taz suplexes and a Flair Flop on the floor. Scorp takes a huge portion of this match offensively which is a good thing and a bad thing. It's a good thing because Scorp is one of my favorite offensive wrestlers ever. It's a bad thing because Taz selling is not very good. Here he is not terrible, but he does a bunch of awkward looking shit and I don't think his hope spots - if you want to call them that - looked good at all. Anyhow Scorp brings his moonsault, his powerbomb, a big splash, a flip legdrop and a 450 that Taz really buries as a legit finish as he just sort of stumbles back to his feet. Taz ends up winning with a Tazmission off of an attempted corner splash from Scorp. Post-match Doug Furnas and Brakkus run out and Scorp and Taz team up to clear the ring with Taz putting Scorp over on the mic afterward. As the Scorp show I think this was a good match, but I think it is fits better as a possible Extra than as a serious nomination.

  22. First Show

Taz Promo with Joey Styles in the ECW Arena. Lance Wright interrupts and announces he has a new WWF opponent for Taz who has broken his neck before and sure enough here comes "Flash Funk." Styles starts to announce him as "Flash Funk," but Scorp stops him and Styles announces him as "returning to the home team." Wright bitches so Scorp drops him and then almost kills him with a moonsault.

Taz v. Too Cold Scorpio (House Party 98)

Lots of cool shit in this and it was almost all Scorpio. Early mat looks tight due to Scorp tying Taz up like a pretzel. 23. I watched this for the SC poll and remember thinking it was okay but overrated. Sasuke matches tend to be made by the dives and Credible matches by his bumps. Sasuke hits a sweet hilo about ten seconds into this but then they cut to commercial. They come back and Sasuke is working a control segment on Justin. Jason end sup trying to block a space flying tiger drop to the annoyance of Sasuke who just goes and hits it anyhow. Jason block another dive attempt and then Sasuke ends up hitting his leg on the floor on a missed plancha. Credible targets the leg here and it actually really dramatic as he rips Sasuke's pant leg open beats it to death with chairs, lacks on a nasty looking ringpost figure-four, and then put a chair around the leg and smashes it. Sasuke is crawling and clinging to the ref which really adds to this. Credible ends up squashing his leg with a splash on a chair and tries another but Sasuke moves. He hits a one legged dropkick that actually makes a lot of sense and then goes for a Phoenix splash which he splats on nastily. Credible hits him with the tombstone for the finish. This is a really well put together match and I don't think much of it is missing. Given it's popularity, it really should make the final product.
