For many years, it was argued that this wasn't the feud that was meant to be; that it should've been David Von Erich's finest hour and spot. David was always considered to be the best of the Von Erichs but before he ever had the chance to wrestle Flair for the NWA World title, tragedy struck the Von Erichs like it never has struck any other family. As a result, Kerry Von Erich stepped in for a memorable match at the first David Von Erich Memorial Parade of Champions and the rest is history.
