AJW •Esther Moreno & Suzuka Minami & Yumiko Hotta vs. Debbie Malenko & Mika Takahashi & Miori Kamiya (06/05/91 - 06/30 TV): Esther stole the show with her moves. Mika had a couple good ones too. AJPW Watched "The Patriot" matches because I like a gimmick and it's almost 4th of July in the States... seemed like a good one..plus I have been meaning to watch more midcard AJPW 90's. Most/all of these are joined in progress. I LIKED them all but maybe you'll see one here that looks more interesting than others. vs Kenta Kobashi (06/03/92): An offensive move display from both. Weekly Wrap Up: AJW, Classic UK, Lucha & NJPW

AAA J.Liger, T. Mask III , HD Santo & Octagón vs La Parka, Psicosis, B. Panther & E. Guerrero (05/15/94): Fun stuff with a lot of stars in the match. 1st & 3rd falls were best. Jushin Liger and Eddie Guerrero were the standouts for their teams. Tiger Kanemoto was in quite a bit but looked just OK. He's already good as himself in '92 but he's not a Tiger Mask except for his kicks. Psicosis also is pretty good here - taking crazy bumps. Highlights of the match are the dives. Makes me

Weekly Wrap Up: AAA, CMLL & NJPW

AAA I found a great source for 2009 lucha libre and have been digging into that for the last week or so. I've been watching AAA since there's less available than CMLL and thus an easier project to devote time to. Also the energy & vibe is much more American style wrestling so it's a super easy thing to watch. It reminds me of ECW in a way with many of the story lines and segments intertwining. AAA 07/05/00 in Tokyo Octagoncito VS Mini Abismo Negro: Two of my favorite AAA minis and they didn't disappoint! A spectacular display of acrobatics and athletics. They had a couple flubs right at the end because they were pushing themselves so hard for the previous 7 minutes. But its no matter because they did their job and kicked off the show with a bang! Weekly Wrap Up: AAA & IWA Japan

AAA Cruiserweight Tournament 2009 Joe Lider vs Nicho (Psicosis): Absolute bonkers move fest where at least 3 of the moves should have ended this. That said, both guys are known for this style so this truly was a battle of two crazies. Super fun! Xtreme Tiger vs Crazy Boy: Fun stuff, Tiger does a Corkscrew super Quebrada to the floor & hits it perfectly! Super Fly vs Laredo Kid: Actually resembled traditional lucha libre 🙂 Plus it told a good story with a post match angle.

AJPW Gladiator (Mike Awesome) & Maunakea Mosman vs Kenta Kobashi & Jun Akiyama 08/21/99, 08/22 TV): 9 of 13 minutes shown. What an AWESOME release German suplex!!! Big moves & believable near falls. Classic UK wrestling Ritchie Brooks vs Ian McGregor (08/27/88): Not familiar with either guy but this was a scrappy contest. A single pin or submission match so the near falls went a long way. I REALLY LIKED this one. Going to keep an eye out for both. FMW W*ing Kanemura vs Masato Tanaka (08/02/97): Electrified Barb wire match. 13 minutes of death match wrestling done right!
