  1. OVW Press Conference- September 1st 1995 At a press conference held in downtown Louisville the launch of a new wrestling promotion was announced, former WWF Referee Danny Davis announced the formation of Ohio Valley Wrestling. Davis announced that he had been running a wrestling school for the past couple of years in Louisville and he has been looking for the right time and opportunity to bring world class wrestling to the great people in the state of Kentucky, Davis announced has secured a weekly local TV deal, Davis then introduced Dean Hill as the voice of OVW, Hill joined Davis on stage and said he was proud to be apart of the dawn of a new era for pro wrestling in Louisville. Davis then introduced one of OVW marque signings, former WWF Star Rick Martel, Martel came on stage and talked about how he wanted to be part of something new where he would not have to deal with corporate management instead getting back to the grassroots level of pro wrestling that made him want to be a wrestler in the first place making the fans happy. Davis announced that OVW first TV episode would air tommorrow night and announced as well as Rick Martel appearing on the first episode other nationally known talent such as Marty Jannetty and Johnny B.Badd would be on the OVW roster. Davis said that that a marketing campaign had already begun and he hoped to see familiar and new faces in the crowds at OVW shows Davis ended the press conference by saying that whilst we are starting small but we are aiming big, we are here to stay we are Ohio Valley Wrestling Davis, Hill and Martel then posed for pictures with the gathered media.
  2. I'd prefer to stick to real life for deaths, if we are trying to stay realistic by kicking out a guy over him wanting to run Vamprio vs. Undertaker as his top WWF fued we should have the same level of realism in following the timeline in relation to wrestlers dying. Owen is a difficult one, I'll admit that I don't want to see anyone booking him falling to his death, maybe will have Owen die peacefully in his sleep when the time comes but that's nearly 4 years down the road it's something we can put time and thought into how to handle it. In regards to injuries, I'm planning to write injuries into my shows, we all should be good enough writers to incorporate injuries and the strain of being on the road into our promotion without the need for random elements.
  3. OVW will draft Mark Starr and with that pick OVW has hit the roster limit.
  4. OVW will draft Prince Iaukea
  5. OVW will draft Doug Basham
  6. OVW will draft Scott Putski
  7. OVW will draft Tekno Team 2000 (Travis (Chad Fortune) & Troy (Erik Watts))
  8. OVW will draft the Headbangers
  9. OVW will draft Kama
  10. Brawler was going to be my next pick, always been a fan of him so happy to see more than one of us had interest in using him.
  11. I'm thinking Tuesday is the best day, don't think anybody of the other american promotion will be running on Tuesdays, want to make it as easy as possible for my guys to work other promotions.
  12. Been spending time reworking my schedule plans for OVW, thinking of probably going towards a schedule similar to NXT taping a full month's slate of episodes on 1 night and posting the episodes weekly on air date. This would free my talent up to work other promotions as well, so anybody that wants to use my guys on your shows my pm box is always open. Having a lot of fun putting together storylines, think I have a very dynamic roster which gives my plenty of options now and into the future to creating very entertaining promotion
  13. OVW will draft Konnan
  14. OVW will draft Barry Horowitz
  15. OVW will draft El Texano and Silver King
  16. OVW will draft Bob Holly
  17. My writing style will evolve as I get more comfortable with writing OVW going to start skinny with just a simple run-down of what went down on the show and expand when needed. Probably going to run a bi-weekly Friday show in Louisville , which will turn into weekly tv down the road somewhere.
  18. With the final pick of round 10 OVW will draft Disco Inferno
  19. With the last pick in Round 9 OVW will draft Rick Martell
  20. There were two ways I could've dealt with the situation, and my sentimental side got the best of me. So, when Jericho came off, I should've looked for a replacement but, instead, I just crossed him off my list and went down. Same with Storm, and then with Sullivan. So (this isn't totally accurate, but a good approximation), I had Chris Jericho, then Lance Storm, then Kevin Sullivan, then a woman (I feel safer leaving the women, since there's less risk of them being stolen; with FMW as my only competition) and, then, Chris Kanyon. Instead of coming up for a replacement for the guys higher up, I just freaked out (not wanting anyone else from my list to get taken) and bumped Kanyon up my list. Ok, Ironically i nearly did not draft Sullivan myself that early but bumped him up my list past Tito because I was worried that you or ECW would have him on your lists, and I've got plans that could really use him.
  21. I missed the Vampiro pick , I think WCW does have a strong roster, but just feel that for a tier a promotion this is the stage to be building the mid-card, not drafting jobbers Maybe in hindsight companies should have been giving more saves as the undercard talent for especially WCW and ECW has been decimated by smaller promotions.
  22. I agree, I could've waited on Del but I didn't want to push my luck after two great picks right off the bat. My worst fear would be picking a lot of big names, whilst the lower tier companies chipped away at my mid-card, and having very few people to build one or two years down the line. Chris Kanyon is a paranoia pick, and I moved him up my list after a few of the underneath guys I was looking for got pinched; Chris Jericho, Lance Storm, Chris Candido and so on. If you could see my plan (which, obviously, I'm keeping secret) you might understand. It suffices to say that I'm very happy that I've got Kanyon. My main event scene is, in my opinion, very good and more than enough to carry me through to the summer of '96. I'll give way on Del, the way the draft is set up can force draft picks like that, but I have to question the viability of any plan that sees jobbers being selected in the 8th round. Kanyon was not dropping off the draft board anytime soon he was jobber talent at best even in a tier d promotion like mine, and he's 2 years off being able to portray him as a mid-card talent, hindsight is a wonderful thing but this pick is as unrealistic as the rouge WWF picks earlier in the draft.
  23. Think a couple of WCW picks were made way too early, whilst the patriot is a solid hand think he went way too early being a 3rd round pick and Kanyon feels like a pick made knowing the future he was a jobber in 95 no way he should be picked this early
  24. Jumping ahead because New Japan can't pick this guy, with the final pick of Round 8 OVW will draft Tito Santana
  25. OVW will draft Kevin Sullivan
