You mean they had planned all along for Benoit to start a feud with Brock only to jump to Raw? Terrible.

They have been better about surveying the land for hot takes and have been more willing to play along with preconceived notions when booking storylines but that doesn't necessarily mean they have this planned out to the extent you believe, or if they do, it would be more likely be because they have other reasons to do it. They had to start building to a life post Cena at some point. It is very likely that they have recognized now is the time to do it. It doesn't mean the theory will ultimately be wrong or anything but I am not entirely convinced yet.

And following that they have Triple H basically disowning him for being too soft to be his champion. That he was a huge waste of an investment. Have his goons take Rollins out. Same time have it be known that the Shield wasn't in the building that night for some reason. You have Triple H turning his ire towards Reigns the WWE champion. Book him in an against all odds type match where Ambrose is barred on threat of termination. When all looks bleak you have Rollins show up out of nowhere to even the playing field and helpjng Reigns retain. Then you have Ambrose join them in celebration over the defeated bodies of Triple H's guys with Triple H fuming on the ramp.

Not the top face? Wasn't Benoit feuding with GM Paul Heyman and his champion Brock Lesnar? The only surprise with him was him switching over to the Raw match after all that buildup for Brock/Benoit. The other top face was Shawn Michaels and since he was already wrestling the pay per view main events it was never going to be him. The top heels were already champions. So how was Benoit a surprise?

It isn't a bad idea but I would kind of prefer if they did it the same way DX got back together...with the teases and the acknowledgment in their matches. Build up the possibility in front of the fans as opposed to the mystery partner deal. I could see a case where if they drag out the mystery partner fails the Shield story they lose that peak level pop when Rollins saves the day because they would have been fatigued by the storyline and just wanted to get it over with.

I don't get it. How was Cena being a douchebag? He was making sure Sting got his match. If you are talking about FUing him on the ramp then tossing him in the ring, it isn't the worst thing we have seen a babyface do and Seth weaselling out forced his hand. Sure no one made him Captain Defender of the WWE but I don't think he was necessarily in the wrong there. And moreso, it was a good middle finger to Seth's "I am the real champion" bullshit gimmick...saying "You are the man! Get in there and defend that belt!" If Cena let Rollins walk away and deprive Sting of the match THAT would be douchey.

No it is definitely more likely than the theory. The WWE has never shown an ability to have such a planning acumen to pull it off. It is definitely more likely a preemptive strike with an eye on the future.

I would be interested in a 3 on 1 handicap match between New Day and Lesnar with the idea they would Freebird their title defenses. Not gonna happen and shouldn't happen but I want to see it.

Actually I thought when I was watching was it looked similar to the injury that killed Perro Aguayo Jr but "milder". Hope he recovers well and I think it is safe to say he should stop now, for his own sake.

I do think Cena is staying in the US title division for at least 6 months longer if not a year so yeah I would imagine he drops and gets it back again one or two more times before he moves away from that belt.

No, it just needs Lesnar pounding Taker into the mat into a bloody puddle so Taker is never heard from again. Taker is already on his way out so just make up for the stupidity that was Summerslam with a strong result for Lesnar so he can inherit Taker's Mania reaper role. And it would cap off the Go to Hell tour in as close to literal sense as possible.

If Benoit was a surprise (he wasn't, due to the storyline, he pretty much had to win it) then Rey Mysterio had to be a bigger surprise too. Of course the Eddie stuff happened but not everyone had faith that Vince would set aside his prejudices about size to make money off the exploitative storyline.

Sting was in a much better shape when he was wrestling AJ so it isn't a fair comparison. I thought the match went pretty well considering Sting may have gotten injured. The only thing for me was that Sting really did look too old to be wrestling. He was kinda wobbly, slow, almost foggy. It is funny you mention the Eddie suplexes, as I actually thought Rollins should have added another suplex in there between the suplerplex and the falcon arrow. The spot is absurd so why not go all the way with it? I did find it weird that in both matches Rollins did a lot of spots that involved deadlifts and/or holding on to his opponents to do more moves. It makes me think Rollins must be a whole lot stronger than he looks. It was a weird contrast to his babyface centric high flying stuff. Maybe if he stuck to the deadlift stuff and turned up the Honky Tonk Man stuff he could finally be a good wrestling heel.

So stupid. Sheamus can't cash in when Kane leaves? It isn't 11 pm yet!
-
No that's too close to NXT colors.
-
Sting is sure acting his age here. He looks terrible.

The logical move would be for all champions to disqualify themselves in every match. Unless it is no DQ but I get your meaning. Logic isnt always good entertainment.
-
No, he has to prove himself to the Greatest WWE Superstar Ever in History so he'll do two 20-30 minute defenses. The greatest superstar ever punted points in an Ironman match to gain an advantage. Surely he would understand this strategy.
-
Wouldn't the logical strategy for Rollins is to immediately get himself disqualified in the US title match to preserve himself for Sting? Surely the WWE title is more important to him right?
-
They should have just had Sting be the third man and run a Lesnar rematch for the world title.
-
Now I think about it, he is probably the fall guy. No one else can afford a loss.
-
I get the veteran presence but Jericho has never been a dominant guy. Why would Reigns and Ambrose ask HIM to counter that big hulking Braun Strowman?
-
At least it isn't Orton...ugh.

They need to stop with the Flair stuff. Let her be her own person and not stuck in his shadow. I mean him celebrating with her is fine but he has made too many appearances for her. It comes across like he can't let go of the spotlight.

Rock/HHH is still happening? I was hoping Rousey's unavailability would zap that.
