I had Foley in my top ten. To what has already been said I'd add his skill as a wrestler is also evident in how he was used to level up a number of wrestlers as they were getting a big push or entering their career peaks. Guys like Rock, Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Triple H (multiple times), Austin, Sting, Orton, Edge all got boosts to their career, some career defining boosts from their work with Mick. Someone else talked about how he had objectives going into matches and I think that is clear in how much attention to detail he had in ring too. I think how he made multiple characters work also shows his skill. Noted that he wrestled more or less the same as each character but the fact the audience was happy to go along for the ride with them shows how good he was.

It isn't just Shield guys he's outperformed, he will end up higher than all but a very select few modern American wrestlers. From his generation there aren't a whole lot higher, it really is only Omega, Danielson, Cena, AJ, Samoa Joe and Punk and you could argue he comes through a long enough time after most of them that he is in a seperate generation whom he is the pack leader of. I'm a huge Moxley fan, had him at 9 but I didn't expect him to rise this high.

I agree with this. I don't think it is in bad faith at all. For all the hand ringing about 2010 NJPW/AEW Uber athletic work rate style getting 'too high' or 'dominating the list' I think in recent years there has equally been a significant portion of wrestling fans that have re-evaluated the importance of the intangible charisma that some performers possess. Call it an aura bump if you want but Dusty is no doubt one of the beneficiaries of it as someone who was derided in Observer lists and the like but was unquestionably a huge star whose work captured the hearts of so many.

It would be him or Okada and Tanahashi has had a complete career while Okada is still wrestling, that in itself probably makes him more likely to be up there. Tanahashi also seems to be the more universally beloved of the two as well, both have their detractors but Okada's seem to be stronger. I had Tanahashi at 2.

I disagree, Rody is far too high in my opinion. He is a very good worker, strong offence, good selling, hardly ever out of place and capable of matching it beat-for-beat with any top guy but a complete charisma vacuum and not compelling at all in his own right. To me, he is a far worse version of PAC of Claudio in terms of the space he occupies in a roster in that upper mid-card workhorse mould. Very good but not exceptional.

I have Eddie right up there in my list. Very few wrestlers are able to conjur the authentic, heart-on-their-sleeve passion and fire that Eddie is able to generate. His offence is decent especially when he is working as a brawler and his selling is excellent. He is an all time great promo. Just look into that man's eyes. If he makes it to the top 100 it will be because he earned it.

Ten years makes it feel very special and gives time for true shifts in the wrestling landscape which makes the comparison to previous lists more interesting.

My thought on nominations is that it is a good thing to have for the reasons mentioned above however it can take months for applications to join this forum to be approved and be able to make nominations. For me, I found out about this project in March but didn't have my membership approved until a week or so ago, when I somehow found the Discord, mentioned it in there, got a reply, then DM'd someone who ticked a box in the background. That is quite a while for it to sit in lieu and is prohibitive for new voices to enter and make nominations. In summary while nominations are good there needs to be a more consistent and lower barrier to entry into the forum so nominations can be made as there are some deserving wrestlers that didn't get nominated.

I feel like I've been named and shamed but I'll stand on having Triple H at 79 on my ballot. Work with Foley, Batista, Shawn Michaels, Benoit, Jericho, Danielson, Mox, Austin, Angle, Rock and even an older Flair in 2005 that I feel very much stands the test of time. Was he arrogant, egomaniacal, at times very boring on the mic, etc? Sure but this is wrestling so arrogance and politics come with the territory and there are lots of other wrestlers that we all love I could call all those things as well. Still a funny gimmick to name us all.

Seeing Batista made me wish I had put him on my poll as the guy that caught my eye on Wide World of Sports twenty years ago. He never failed in conveying the intensity that wrestling should have.

I think that will make her the highest rated Australian with Rea Ripley, Kyle Fletcher and Buddy Matthews having already dropped and Robbie Eagles getting votes (one at least from me) but not nominated prior. I don't think I'm forgetting anyone unless I missed a covert Nathan Jones push.

I have a few tag teams ahead of FTR but both Cash and Dax made my list. From the current generation the Bucks and Briscoes.

He has had a few too many overly long main events that missed their peak for me to vote for him but I agree that on form he is one of the most exciting counter wrestlers to watch.

I'd say while I respect what Athena has done with the spots she has got, she has never quite reached the level of work that Mercedes/Sasha put in for her Mania match with Bianca Belair, which to me is her finest hour. She worked so hard to make Belair look unstoppable, I'll never forget the crack of Bianca's hair or the welts it brought up. Legacy wise it is a match that made Bianca a stadium level star and a lot of that was Sasha's very self-less work putting her over.

Him continually ending up with Cole, Strong and Fish got old so quick. In AEW he has easily been at his most interesting when he was bumping around with Mark Briscoe and Orange Cassidy letting that freak flag fly a little.

Lots of people started to turn the corner on Adam Cole through the NXT COVID shows where he was stuck in statis character-wise and then the dreadful Brochacho/Devil storyline exposed some very bad creative instincts. He has always been someone who seems to be a 7-8/10 at everything with no truly standout aspects to his skillset. I've always thought he was a bit of a blank slate character wise too so bookers feel like they can push their pet projects onto him knowing the crowd will still go along with the catch phrases. If this poll had taken place in 2019/20 though, he would have been a real threat for much higher.
