  1. Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Portland Sports Arena, Portland , on ESPN / TSN , January 10th The Untouchables vs. Danny Brown & Ace Gordon When we last saw Sheikh Adnan Al-Kaissie, he was managing the Assassins in a losing effort against the Vachon Brothers. The Assassins may be gone, but the Sheikh is not ready to go by a long shot, and has increased his efforts to take over the region with a ruthless new tag team. The Untouchables consist of Steve Strong, an appropriately named powerhouse with a sadistic streak, and The Barbarian, a reckless and muscular monster capable of explosive bursts of terrifying violence . Strong used his impressive strength the bend and stretch poor Brown while the Barbarian knocked him all over the ring with nasty, reckless slams and kicks. Then, after Barbarian sent Gordon off the ringside with a lightning quick kick to the head, Strong hoisted Brown up in a bearhug and Barbarian came off the top rope with a flying clothesline to polish him off. It looks like the Sheikh is aiming to make his mark on Pacific Coast and with the Untouchables by his side, it will be hard to deny him. Kendo Nagasaki vs. Eddie Hogan With Hulk Hogan, Larry Zbyszko and KY Wakamatsu all gone from Pacific Coast, it would seem like the issues between Kendo and Eddie Hogan would be boiled down to a One On One situation. Anyone betting on that would be in for a surprise in this match, as Nagasaki came to the ring accompanied by his new manager, Gary Hart. It seems like the addition of Hart's guidance and the subtraction of Zbyszko's distraction has brought new intensity to Kendo, as he tore into Eddie with a laser like focus. The powerful junior Hogan fought back gamely, but Kendo did not let up for a second, and when the ref tried to get in between them, he was rewarded with Kendo's green mist to the face for his efforts. This led to a loss by DQ, but Kendo didn't seem to care as he and kept after Eddie until the two were separated by security. One can only imagine what Gary Hart's sinister plan is for Pacific Coast now that he is guiding Kendo Nagasaki. Badd Company vs. The Starr "Cousins" Last week, Badd Company made an impressive debut on Pacific Showcase, but this time out, they would be facing more experienced opposition in Ron and Chicky Starr . At first, the Starrs didn't seem particularly impressed with Paul Diamond and Pat Tanaka, and spent most of their time posing and putting the moves on Missy Hyatt, who seemed particularly unimpressed herself with the Starrs. They swiftly learned never to take their eyes off Badd Company, whose rapid fire moves and tags kept the Starrs off balance throughout the match. Chicky Starr wound up making one pass too many at Missy, as he turned around into a crescent kick by Tanaka. Tanaka then combined a brutal legsweep with a lariat from Diamond that folded Chicky up like a pretzel. Tanaka rolled up Chicky for the pinfall to get a major victory for Badd Company. With Missy Hyatt leading the way , Badd Company look to be headed right to the top of the Pacific Coast tag rankings. Eddie Gilbert vs. Joe Dowdle With the influx of new wrestlers to Pacific Coast, one looking to distinguish himself from the crowd is young "Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert. The son of southern veteran Tommy Gilbert, Eddie had a very distinct charisma that quickly won over the crowd with his sparky personality and easy dominance of Dowdle. After finishing off Dowdle with a move he called the Hot Shot (hoisting Dowdle on his shoulder and dropping him throat first on the top rope) , Gilbert took time to shake hands and share a few laughs with the fans at ringside. A solid debut, but time will tell how he will be able to work his way through the crowded Pacific Coast rankings. The Crazy Gang vs. Billy Jack Haynes, Texas Red & Ricky Steamboat At first , it seemed like business as usual for the ongoing feud between the Crazy Gang and Haynes' crew. The match wound up taking a shocking turn as someone made their way to ringside, grabbed Steamboat, and yanked him hard off the ring apron and to the floor. It was The Magnificent One, Don Muraco, who had not been seen in this promotion before! He lifted up the surprised Steamboat with ease and drove him down into the floor with a nasty Belly To Belly Piledriver. At first, the Crazy Gang seemed as surprised as everyone else, but they quickly took advantage, and while Billy Jack tended to his unconscious partner, the Gang triple teamed Texas Red with impunity. Rude hit his patented Rude Awakening neckbreaker followed by a top rope legdrop by Schultz and the tainted victory went to the Crazy Gang. But the big news of the match was the appearance by Muraco and his devastating Pearl Harbour job on Steamboat. Pacific Coast Television Title Match : Terry Taylor © vs. Chris Adams Last week, Chris Adams made his shocking return to Pacific Coast Wrestling to challenge for Terry Taylor's TV Title. Taylor turned tail and fled at the end of that match, and Adams was given an immediate rematch. Taylor was once again accompanied by Jake Roberts, but Adams was clearly determined not to let the Snake draw his attention from his goal of winning the title. Adams was all over Taylor for most of this match, with the champion barely getting a chance to catch his breath against the relentless attack of the Gentleman. Adams managed to nail Taylor with the Superkick, but didn't get a chance to capitalize as Roberts rushed into the ring and take him down with a big kneelift. The ref quickly called for a DQ, but that didn't seem to matter to Taylor and Roberts as they put the boots to Adams. It looked like they were set to put an end to Adams challenge permanently as Roberts set up Adams for a DDT on the title belt, when out of nowhere, all of the lights in the arena went out. After a few seconds of stunned darkness, the lights went back on , and Roberts and Taylor were shocked to see a stranger in the ring. He was a black haired man with white martial arts slacks and white facepaint with black Japanese lettering. The stranger took Roberts down with a spin kick that forced him to let go of Adams, then hit another one that sent Taylor flying out of the ring. As Taylor and Roberts ran back to the locker room, the stranger helped up the puzzled Adams and bowed to him. The lights went out again, and when they came back on , the stranger had gone, leaving Adams and the fans trying to puzzle out what exactly had just happened. The Fabulous Freebirds vs. The Guerrero Brothers With Terry Gordy winning the Pacific Coast Heavyweight Title at San Diego Battleground, the Fabulous Freebirds have looked pretty much unstoppable. They certainly didn't seem to be taking the Guerreros seriously in this match, but that proved to be a severe mistake. The three brothers have been wrestling together their whole lives, and managed to consistently be one step ahead of the Freebirds throughout the match. When the champ, Terry Gordy, was in the ring, he was still able to dominate, but even then the Guerreros lessened the damage by using hit and run tactics and quickly tagging in and out of the ring. The turning point in the match came when Mando hit Gordy with a full force tackle that sent them both bowling out of the ring. Hector quickly charged in to tie up Hayes, and Chavo took down Roberts with a dropkick before coming off the top rope with a flying somersault senton for the pinfall. The Guerreros scored a major upset over the Freebirds, and from the looks of things, all of them are aiming for a shot at Gordy's Heavyweight title.
  2. Dick Murdoch is listed twice on my roster and it is missing Mad Dog Vachon.
  3. There is a reason I made a 4 for 3 trade to get the Freebirds.
  4. AWA Pacific Wrestling show from the Victoria Memorial Arena, Victoria, on Pacific Super Cards, January 4th The Thundercats vs. The Vice Squad Larry Cameron pinned Brian Knobs after a leaping clothesline and got the victory for the Thundercats Badd Company vs. The Starr "Cousins" Pat Tanaka took out Chicky Starr after a wheel kick to the top of the head Ed Wiskowski vs. Mad Dog Vachon Both men were counted out while brawling outside the ring Texas Red vs. Manny Fernandez Texas Red won with a top rope elbow drop "Doctor D" Dave Schultz vs. Mike Rotunda Rotunda won by DQ after Schultz slugged the ref Pacific Coast Tag Team Title Match : Buddy Rose & Doug Somers © vs. The French Revolution Rose and Somers successfully defended their titles after Rose executed the Inside Out Backbreaker on LaFleur Eddie Hogan vs. Kendo Nagasaki Eddie Hogan won with the jumping knee lift Pacific Coast Heavyweight Title Match : Terry Gordy © vs. Mando Guerrero Mando put up a ferocious challenge but in the end it was Gordy who prevailed with a big Freebird Piledriver in his first title defense
  5. Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Pacific Coliseum, Vancouver, on ESPN / TSN , January 3rd The Thundercats vs. Steven Morris, Dave Cruser & Aaron Reisberger The newly rebranded Pacific Coast Wrestling has promised an exciting New Year full of great new talent, and they are certainly kicking off in style with a team who have dubbed themselves the Thundercats. They consist of "Lethal" Larry Cameron, a stern but powerful former linebacker from Harlem; Normal Smiley, a charismatic British technical and submission specialist; and Too Cold Scorpio, a dynamic aerialist hailing from Denver, Colorado. They really got the crowd going as Cameron easily overpowered all of their opponents, Smiley outclassed them on the mat, and Scorpio showed off his dazzling high flying moves. After Cameron clotheslined both Reisberger and Cruser out of the ring, Smiley hoisted Morris up in a vertical suplex while Scorpio came off the top rope with a flying body press in a move they call the Thunderplex, putting an end to the match. This thrilling young trio are kicking off the New Year in fine style. The Royal Family vs. Leo Burke & Bam Bam Bigelow Leo Burke had a lot of trouble with the Royal Family last year, and has gone for a rather unusual solution. He has brought in Bam Bam Bigelow, a rambunctious New Jersey fireball with an unusual look, to both mentor and partner against the tough Antipodeans. Jonathan Boyd and Rip Morgan didn't seem to take Bigelow seriously at first, but learned to their chagrin that he was not somebody to be overlooked. Bigelow got the better of them in a number of power exchanges and even did cartwheels around them to mock them. The Royals battled back hard , even administering some vicious shots when they had him trapped in their corner, but Bigelow kept bouncing back. Things wound up breaking down with both teams brawling outside and Bigelow squashing Boyd with a running splash, and the end result was a double count out. Regardless, these two teams are not done with each other by a long shot. Badd Company vs. Spencer Duhm & Jerry Sims Badd Company is another hot young team newly arrived in the Pacific Coast, with the gifted second generation wrestler Pat Tanaka paired up with the athletic former pro soccer player Paul Diamond. Many of the fans eyes were drawn to their manager, Missy Hyatt, a vivacious and curvaceous blonde woman who cheered on her men with great enthusiasm from ringside. While their opponents may have been distracted by the stunning Ms. Hyatt, Badd Company remained laser focused on the match, dissecting their opposition with blinding speed. Duhm and Sims never really got in the match, as Tanaka's martial arts expertise and Diamond's precision dropkicks knocked them around the ring. Diamond ultimately took out Sims by thrust kicking him into a German suplex by Tanaka. So far, Missy Hyatt's confidence in her young charges seem to be quite well founded. Pacific Coast Light Heavyweight Title Match : Keiichi Yamada © vs. Tracy Smothers Yamada was coming off winning the Light Heavy title at San Diego Battleground and has promised that he would face all comers in defending the belt, but even he seemed by his first challenger. After he had been taken out on a stretcher at the hands of the Marauders, nobody thought they would see Tracy Smothers in Pacific Coast Wrestling, but he is back and clearly determined to prove that he is at 100%. He certainly came out aggressively with hard punches and kicks as well as adding a certain edge to all of his moves. Yamada was both surprised and impressed and fired back with his own tougher shots. What resulted was a very intense match, with Smothers at several points looking like he just might pull of the upset and gain the title. He did at one point have Yamada lined up for the Jawjacker, but Yamada ducked it right at the last second. Yamada swiftly rolled him up in the Natural Bridge, but Smothers was able to get his foot on the ropes just in the nick of time. Both men were going at it when the bell rang, signaling a 15 minute TV time limit draw. Yamada was sufficiently impressed that he helped Smothers to his feet at the end of the match, before bowing and raising his arm as a show of respect. Smothers in turn shook Yamada's hand . Tracy Smothers is back and is looking better than ever. The Vice Squad vs. Mikey Bortone, Joel Anderson & Chet Welch Another new group looking to make an impact on Pacific Coast Wrestling are the Vice Squad, who didn't make a great impression on the fans with their golden robes and overall air of smugness. Their members included a pair of rough and ready East Coast brawlers in Brian Knobs and Jack Victory, as well as a seedy looking Floridian named Jim Backlund who nevertheless displayed impressive moves as well as some ring savvy. The trio bullied their opposition over the ring before polishing off Welch with a combination of a powerslam by Knobs and a flying legdrop by Backlund, which they call the Vice Raid. They might not be interested in winning over the fans, but they certainly have the skills to win matches. Pacific Coast Television Title Match : Terry Taylor © vs. ?? ?? Taylor came to the ring accompanied by his mentor, Jake "The Snake" Roberts and demanded the ringside microphone. He started by saying that Tom Zenk had gotten his one and only shot at his title at San Diego Battleground, and since he had been unable to win the title within the time limit provided, no more title shots would be forth coming. He then said that the Pacific Coast Wrestling matchmakers were a bunch of cowards for putting him in a match with an unnamed opponent, but since he had easily defeated everyone who had challenged for his title so far, he was certainly not afraid of anyone they threw against him tonight. He maintained the same cocky smirk right up until the music kicked in, playing "Let's See Action" by The Who over the PA … and "Gentleman" Chris Adams raced to the ring! Adams had been gone from Pacific Coast for 6 months after losing a Loser Leaves Town Match, but now the terms of that contract had expired and he was free to make his return. Taylor's confidence dissolved into raw panic as Adams tore at him with kicks and punches, tossing him across the mat with judo throws and suplexes. Taylor tried in vain to backpedal and stall for time, but Adams just kept coming right at him. Roberts finally chose to get involved by grabbing the TV title belt with one arm, then reaching into the ring with another and forcibly pulling Taylor out of the ring. The two then fled to the locker room, leading to a countout win for Adams where the title did not change hands. Taylor can run from Adams all he wants, but something tells me that, sooner or later, the Gentleman will catch up with him.
  6. I posted a bunch of roster changes on December 31st that aren't reflected on my roster.
  7. Time to get up to date with my roster, now that I have posted my year end show. All of this is effective January 1st. Butcher Vachon has now retired and is off my roster. Pacific Coast sends Roddy Piper to Mid-Atlantic in exchange for Eddie Gilbert and The Barbarian (Konga). Pacific Coast sends Larry Zbyszko to USWA in exchange for Dick Murdoch. The following wrestlers have been cut from the Pacific Coast roster to make way for draft picks : Assassin #1 (Jody Hamilton), Assassin #2 (Roger Smith), Keith Hart, Bruce Hart, The Spoiler, KY Wakamatsu, "Diamond" Timothy Flowers, Tojo Yamamoto, Gypsy Joe, Hiro Saito, Super Strong Machine.
  8. AWA Pacific San Diego Battleground, San Diego Sports Arena , San Diego , December 31st , 1984 The Royal Family vs. The Hart Brothers The last big show of the year for Pacific Coast Wrestling got off to a rip roaring start as the terrifying Antipodean duo of Jonathan Boyd and Rip Morgan took on Calgary's First Family of Wrestling, Bruce and Keith Hart. The Harts did their best to use their considerable technical expertise to keep a lid on the Royal Family's offense, but in the end, the sheer size and aggression of the Royals proved to be too much to handle, and Boyd whipped Keith into a massive Big Boot from Morgan to get them the win. The Royal Family certainly are poised to make a big impact in the new year. Four Corners Match for the new Pacific Coast Light Heavyweight Title : Keiichi Yamada vs. Hiro Saito vs. Ron Starr vs. Chicky Starr This match had a lot of anticipation going in, as it would not only crown a new champion for the brand new Pacific Coast Light Heavyweight title, but it would pit not only rivals but partners against each other. The Starr "Cousins" seemed to have the opinion that it didn't matter which of them won the title as they decided to go with strength in numbers. They kept on double teaming whichever of the Japanese wrestlers was in the ring , eventually settling on working over the younger Yamada. This would prove to cost them, as Ron was holding Yamada for a dropkick by Chicky, only for Yamada to break free just in time and Chicky to send his "cousin" out of the ring. Yamada swiftly followed up with a Tiger Suplex on Chicky to get the first elimination. Ron came back hard , determined to avenge his "cousin". He administered a pretty vicious beating on young Yamada, getting several near counts before whipping Yamada into the ropes for a lariat. Yamada countered with a Crucifix Cradle and was just barely able to keep Starr's shoulders down for the three count. This left him alone with his partner, Hiro Saito, but if he expected mercy or any kind of break from their friendship, it was certainly not forthcoming. The two Japanese stars battled back and forth, with it seeming at numerous occasions as though either man could take the title. It seemed like the earlier battering would prove to be too much for Yamada as Hiro had him set up for the top rope flying senton. However, Yamada was able to roll out of the way at the last second, and Saito landed hard on the mat. Yamada then caught Saito in a double leg roll up and got the final three count. Yamada was the inaugural Light Heavyweight champ, and he and Saito bowed and embraced as the fans gave them a well deserved standing ovation. Golden State Tag Team Title Match : Hector & Mando Guerrero © vs. Mister Hito & Masanobu Fuchi The Guerreros have kept a very tight grip on the Golden State Tag Titles ever since becoming the first champs back in June. But the Japanese team on Hito and Fuchi have been very hot on their trail of late. Both teams went all out in this matchup, with the Guerrero's high flying and precision team work matching up with the hard hitting strikes and tight submissions of Hito and Fuchi. Mando ultimately got Hito in a waistlock to finish him off with the German Suplex, but Hito blocked it and reversed the waistlock into his own backdrop driver. One … two … THREE! A bit of an upset as Hito and Fuchi finally dethrone the champs. Billy Jack Haynes, Texas Red & Ricky Steamboat vs. The Crazy Gang ( Ragin' & Ravishing and "Dr. D" Dave Schultz) From the moment of their arrival in the Pacific Coast, the Crazy Gang have more than lived up to their name, spreading chaos and mayhem every time they showed up. Their brutal feud with Billy Jack and Texas Red has drawn in the Dragon himself, Ricky Steamboat, and has led to some insane matches. This one was no exception, as it was all the ref could do to keep only two men in the ring at a time. Eventually, all six men were brawling at ringside, until Ricky Steamboat came off the top rope with a flying cross body press that knocked everyone down. Steamboat was the only one able to make it back in the ring on time, getting his team the win by countout. A hard fought win, but this feud is clearly far from over. Pacific Coast Coast Television Title Match : Terry Taylor © vs. Tom Zenk Terry Taylor started his turn to the dark side by abandoning his partner , Tom Zenk, in the middle of a tag match. Zenk has been looking for vengeance ever since, and a chance at the Television Title would make revenge all the sweeter. Taylor clearly is wary of Zenk as he brought out his evil mentor, Jake "The Snake" Roberts , along with the Starr "Cousins" to be in his corner for this match. Zenk, in turn, brought out the other members of the Brigade (Mike Rotunda, Dan Spivey and Al Perez) to watch his back. All of this crowd at ringside could potentially form a distraction to the men in the ring, but Zenk was determined to keep his focus on his former partner. Taylor was backpedaling through much of the match, but always able to dodge any potential trap that Zenk might spring on him. It looked like it was all over for Taylor when Zenk hit a missile dropkick that sent him flying across the ring, but Jake Roberts put Taylor's foot on the ropes to break up the count. Taylor , in turn, thought he had it wrapped up when he took advantage of a distraction from the Starrs to blindside Zenk with a Fivearm, but Zenk got his own foot on the ropes just in time. Soon after , Zenk attempted to put him down with a Superkick , which Taylor ducked and countered with a single leg rollup. Zenk in turn reversed it with his own rollup. One … two … and then the bell rang, signaling a 20 minute time limit draw. A tough break for Zenk, but you just know he is determined to get his hands on championship gold sooner or later. Butcher Vachon's Retirement Match : The Vachon Brothers vs. The Assassins A bittersweet moment for the Vachons and the fans, as this would be the Butcher's final match before his retirement. He was clearly looking to go out with a win , as he and his brother slugged it out furiously with their masked opponents, but the Assassins were no pushovers, and gave as good as they got. Nothing the Assassins did held back the Vachons for long, and Mad Dog eventually got Assassin #2 over his knee in a backbreaker while his brother came off the top rope with a kneedrop. Butcher got the pinfall, and the crowd cheered as the two brothers tearfully embraced in the ring, a fitting farewell for a worthy competitor. Pacific Coast Tag Team Title Match : The French Revolution © vs. Buddy Rose & Doug Somers The champions were coming in at a disadvantage, with Phil Lafleur having been badly hurt in a recent match against the Freebirds. Dino Bravo did his best to cover for his young partner, but eventually it came to the point where he had to tag in Lafleur, and the Army showed no mercy as they went for the kill. Lafleur put up a valiant fight , but the accumulated damage turned out to be too much, and Bravo was unable to save him . Rose and Somers are the new champions and have brought gold back to the Army. No DQ Match : Hulk Hogan vs. Larry Zbyszko This would be the culmination of the Hulkster's lengthy feud with the wily Larry Z, and as a No DQ match there would be no excuses for either side. Larry was backed up by his manager, KY Wakamatsu, and his bodyguard, Kendo Nagasaki, while Hulk was backed up by his brother, Eddie Hogan. Larry did everything he could to avoid directly engaging Hulk, letting his cohorts sneak in their cheap shots and getting his own in when Eddie tried to stop them. He managed to get Hulk staggered against the ropes when he called for Wakamatsu to throw in his megaphone. Wakamatsu was cut off by Eddie Hogan, who locked him in the Sleeper hold. Kendo immediately came over and blasted Eddie in the face with the green mist, but unlike the last time that happened, Eddie kept the Sleeper locked in, although he was clearly in agony. Kendo started savagely pummeling Eddie's face and head with brutal chops, but the younger Hogan continued to refuse to let go of the hold. Larry was getting more and more frustrated at the delay, until he realized to his horror that Hulk had recovered and was staring him in the face. The Hulkster nailed him with a couple of big punches, flattened him with the Axe Bomber, and then polished him off with the big leg drop. After the match, Hulk helped up his battered younger brother and raised his hand, showing appreciation for his resilience. Pacific Coast Heavyweight Title Match : "Rowdy" Roddy Piper © vs. Terry "Bam Bam" Gordy Ever since their explosive debut in the Pacific Coast, the Fabulous Freebirds have let it be known that they aim to take over the promotion, and here they would have their highest profile shot at the Heavyweight title. Terry Gordy has been an absolute wrecking ball, bowling over every opponent who has gotten in his path, and the normally confident Piper seemed at a loss as to what to do with the huge Freebird. The Hot Scot did his best to work a cat and mouse game with Gordy, using hit and run tactics to keep him off balance, but eventually Gordy would come back with a huge power move that would knock Piper for a loop. Gordy even got the champion in the Asiatic Spike for an agonizingly long period before Piper was able to get to the ropes to break the hold. Piper in turn was able to catch Gordy in the sleeper. Gordy tried driving Piper back first into the corner, but Piper held on tight. But Gordy then dropped suddenly back first onto the mat and the full weight of the massive Freebird was too much for Piper, who let go of the hold. Gordy then got Piper up and hit a huge piledriver, but Piper somehow found it in him to kick out before three. Enraged, Gordy hit a second piledriver, but Piper heroically got his shoulder up at the last moment. Gordy screamed at him and hit a third piledriver, and it proved to be too much for Piper's valiant sprit and the ref marked the three count. The crowd was in shock as the remaining Freebirds rushed the ring, waving their confederate flags. Terry Gordy was now the heavyweight champion, and it doesn't look like anyone can stop him now.
  9. I just wish I had known all that before hand, since I changed all of my drafting strategy around when I thought I would be getting original Kabuki.
  10. OK, really need to clear this up. I picked up The Great Kabuki from the World Class roster in the draft, but he is also showing as being on the Mid-Atlantic roster. What is going on?
  11. Pacific Coast takes Jack Victory and withdraws
  12. Pacific Coast brings in "Lethal" Larry Cameron.
  13. So that means I am up? Looks like. Pacific Coast welcomes back the Wild Eyed Southern Boy, young Tracey Smothers.
  14. Pacific Coast Wrestling welcomes back the "Gentleman" Chris Adams.
  15. Pacific Coast takes Gary Hart
  16. It looks like All Star has taken the Midnight Express so Pacific Coast takes Kabuki
  17. Great main events, giving the fans what they want. Can't wait to see the fallout from the Calgary Screw Job.
  18. Pacific Coast selects the Super Black Ninja, Keiji Mutoh.
  19. The Pacific Coast welcomes the Magnificent One, Don Muraco
  20. AWA Pacific Wrestling show from the LA Sports Arena, Los Angeles, December 21st "Diamond" Timothy Flowers vs. Texas Red Red put Flowers away with the Heart Punch The Royal Family vs. Leo Burke & Gypsy Joe A brutal fight where the Royal Family were finally able to put down Joe by dropping him throat first on the top rope Ricky Steamboat vs. Rick Rude Both men were counted out while brawling outside the ring Tom Zenk vs. Masanobu Fuchi A real trial by fire for Zenk as Fuchi really took him to his limits before Zenk was able to pull out the win with a top rope missile dropkick Jake Roberts vs. Chavo Guerrero Jake won with the DDT Hulk Hogan & Eddie Hogan vs. Larry Zbyszko & Kendo Nagasaki Larry and Kendo pulled out every dirty trick in the book but ultimately Hulk was able to hit the Axe Bomber on Kendo and score the pinfall AWA Pacific Television Title Match : Terry Taylor © vs. Dan Spivey Spivey won by DQ when he was attacked by Jake Roberts. Roberts and Taylor beat down Spivey until Tom Zenk ran out to even the sides. Taylor retained the TV Title. Roddy Piper & The French Revolution vs. The Fabulous Freebirds Terry Gordy got the pinfall for his team after a Double Spike Piledriver on Phil LaFleur
  21. Midnight Rider! Can't wait to see how this plays out.
  22. Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Olympic Auditorium , Los Angeles , on ESPN / TSN , December 20th Dino Bravo vs. Doug Somers San Diego Battleground is just around the corner, and both of these men are heading towards a big clash for the AWA Pacific Tag Team titles. Both men came out with their partners, but were informed by the ref that, by Pacific Coast Wrestling orders, due to the high volatility of the upcoming big show, for this show only anyone not cleared to be at ringside would be barred under penalty of suspension. After some brief protest, Phil LaFleur and Buddy Rose returned to the locker room. Despite this attempt by the officials to keep this match under control, there was still plenty of chaos to be seen as Somers used every dirty trick he could fit in to get some damage done before the Tag Titles were on the line. The always resilient Bravo was still able to catch him in the side suplex for the victory, but the toughest battle still lay ahead at San Diego Battleground. Kendo Nagasaki vs. Super Strong Machine Since KY Wakamatsu is Kendo's official manager, he was allowed at ringside for this match and provided plentiful distraction for Super Strong Machine. KY's constant hectoring on his megaphone grated on the nerves of both Machine and the fans, but his face painted charge was laser focused, attacking Machine with precision kicks and chops. Machine fought back gamely, giving as good as he got, but Kendo was able to duck under a big roundhouse kick and take down the masked man with a nasty legsweep. He then caught Machine in a Scorpion Hold and forced him to give up. There will be nothing stopping him from being in the corner of Larry Zbyszko at San Diego Battleground, and the Hogan Brothers had best watch their backs. Billy Jack Haynes vs. Manny Fernandez The Crazy Gang might not have been in Pacific Coast for long, but they certainly wasted no time in starting a feud with Billy Jack, Texas Red and the newly arrived Ricky Steamboat. For tonight's show, it would be the aptly named "Ragin' Bull" Manny Fernandez who would square off with Pacific Coast favorite Billy Jack Haynes. It was everything Billy Jack could do to try to keep Fernandez contained, as the Ragin' Bull came at him with speed and fury. Billy Jack kept executing bigger and bigger moves on him to try and put him down, and Fernandez just kept tearing into him. Billy Jack was just barely able to keep his shoulders down for a three count after catching him off the ropes with a crushing powerslam, but even after that Fernandez wanted to keep going. The matchup at San Diego Battleground is set to be explosive. AWA Pacific Television Title Match : Terry Taylor © vs. Al Perez With neither Jake Roberts nor the Brigade at ringside, Taylor would have to face head on the challenge of his former Brigade compatriot, Al Perez. Perez was clearly looking for payback for Taylor's betrayal of the group and kept his head in this match. Instead, he brought his considerable technical and submission expertise to bear on the champion, who was just barely able squeak out of several compromising situations. Perez looked like he might just be able to take the title when he had Taylor set up for a German Suplex, but Taylor countered with a backwards low kick. Perez had the move scouted , however, and blocked it then followed up with a single leg take down. Taylor then grabbed a hold of the ropes to block the take down and countered with a roll up of his own, assisted by a fistful of trunks and his feet on the robes. He was able to get the tainted victory, but he is likely to need more than that to withstand the challenge of Tom Zenk at San Diego Battleground. AWA Pacific Heavyweight Title Match : Roddy Piper © vs. Buddy Roberts As the last defense before San Diego Battleground, Piper certainly had his hands full with Buddy "Jack" Roberts. He might not have had his Freebird brothers available to run interference for him, but Buddy still had a wealth of experience and a heaping dose of the crazies, and he certainly brought both into his challenge for the big belt. Piper is certainly no stranger to sanity optional wrestling himself, and the result was a very furious and chaotic match where both men took a lot of damage. It seemed like it might go to a draw when the two men were slugging it out on the outside, but Piper managed to hit a piledriver on the floor and just barely make it back into the ring in time to win by countout. Piper had clearly taken a lot of damage and you can imagine Terry Gordy licking his chops at the thought of taking advantage of the champ's weakened stage at San Diego Battleground.
  23. Hall and Michaels is an intriguing duo of the time , lots of potential for them as a team. Can't wait until the Masked Manager is revealed.
  24.
