FLIK Posted May 27, 2012 Report Posted May 27, 2012 It's funny, in the short time i've been training to wrestle the need to emphasise my size is one of the things my trainers have really tried to drill into my head. I'm 6'2 which isn't super big but on the indies that makes me taller then most so I get a lot of reminders not to "cheat my size", crouch too much, stand up straight, look agressive, stronger, etc... I have never heard casual wrestling fans discuss the size of smaller guys in a negative way. I have but more along the lines of build then height, took someone to an indy show once and they were disapointed no one was in WWE lvl shape.
Johnny Sorrow Posted May 27, 2012 Report Posted May 27, 2012 You can have a smart / technical heel or a chicken shit heel vs. basically a Hogan. Don't see why that can't work.It worked with Piper.
Mr Wrestling X Posted May 27, 2012 Report Posted May 27, 2012 What about heel vs. face? I think it's relatively easy to have a small face. Much more difficult to have an undersized heel. It's easier to sell a threatening monster heel. Not true, the larger face vs. smaller heel has been done extremely well (and easily) on numerous occasions including: Roddy Piper vs. Hulk Hogan Rick Rude vs. Ultimate Warrior Ric Flair vs. Sting Razor Ramon vs. Shawn Michaels Mankind vs. The Undertaker Kurt Angle vs. Brock Lesnar CM Punk vs. Samoa Joe Any heel X-Division wrestler vs. Samoa Joe Randy Orton vs. The Undertaker Kurt Angle vs. Samoa Joe CM Punk vs. The Undertaker Daniel Bryan vs. Anybody prior to the "Yes!" phenomenon
