Is there anything behind Fujinami beating Kerry for the WCCW title right before the Superclash PPV? Just something for the Japan audience vs. Trying to mess with Verne or somesuch?

I've always been of the opinion that Luger barely bleeding made the call to end the match from blood all the more properly controversial.

 

I wonder if Luger had been bleeding buckets if the Superclash main event would have been booked differently?
