soup23
3 minute match but continues the HHH vs Benoit feud with Benoit going after HHH’s buddies. Even within the three minutes, Benoit does some unique things like his crisp forward roll and his arm attack that felt personal. Road Dogg gets caught in the crossface and when Benoit refuses to break, out rushes HHH for a brawl to end the segment. *1/
GSR
Michael Cole reminds everyone that Commissioner Mick Foley will be live in WWF New York to reveal a WWF legend, someone who he plans to bring back to Network television. Tazz has changed his mind again, now claiming it will be the legendary Moondog Spot! Road Dogg says that all he’s interested in is proving Chris Benoit wrong and he goes right after the ‘Rabid Wolverine’ the moment he steps into the ring. Benoit with a nice single arm takedown as Dogg throws out a jab, but as he looks to lock in the crossface he’s able to outstretch a foot and reach the ropes. There’s actually some focussed work on the Dogg’s shoulder here as he goes about trying to soften and weaken it. Shoulderbreaker, but ‘the Crippler’ then misses the diving headbutt, Dogg just about rolling out the way. He’s back juking and jiving and a big right drops Benoit. ‘Shake, Rattle & Roll’ knee drop for a two. Dogg has him set for his pumphandle finisher, however Benoit escapes and counters into the crossface. This time it’s in the centre of the ring and the Road Dogg is forced to tap. ‘The Crippler’ continues the attack which leads to Triple H saving his D-X brethren, ‘the Game’ due to meet Benoit at No Mercy in a week’s time. The two fight off into the crowd and go at it right up until the footage finishes.
