Smoky Mountain Wrestling

TV

Aired July 2, 1994

Loudon High School, Loudon, TN

  1. Rock & Roll Express (w/ Bambi) vs Joe Cazana & Chris Hamrick - Tammy Fytch & Chris Candido & Brian Lee join them on commentary for this match.  Tammy has just about had enough of the Rock & Roll Express.  First they humiliated her on national TV when they dumped a bucket of manure over her head and she smelled so bad that Brian and Chris were afraid to come near her for a week.  They then bring in this wildebeest to come after her!  She’s not a wrestler and shouldn’t be involved with her and can’t take it anymore.  The Rock & Rolls are pushing her to her limits, she’s on the verge of having a nervous breakdown and doesn’t know what to do.  They have to do something to humiliate them like they humiliated her.  As the Express are getting the win, Brian and Chris run down to the ring, Primetime grabs Bambi and Fytch KO’s her with her purse.  The four of them start fighting and when she gets her chance, Tammy sprays Gibson in the face with hairspray temporarily blinding him.  Lee press slams Morton and then Candido and he hold him while Tammy cuts off some of his mullet until Steve and Scott Armstrong make the save.
  2. Recap of Lance Storm vs Timothy Well from last week
  3. INT: The Thrillseekers - Lance Storm says that it was a raw deal last week, he lost his temper and he lost the match.  Timothy Well spat in his face and no-one does that and gets away with it, so come Summerblast and the ‘Penalty Box’ match they’re going to start breaking some rules.  They don’t have to break the rules, but that doesn’t mean that they’re not going to.
  4. The Thrillseekers music video - Van Halen ‘Top of the World’
  5.  Bruiser Bedlam (w/ Jim Cornette & Killer Kyle) vs Larry Santo
  6. Jim Cornette & Bruiser Bedlam & Killer Kyle vignette - Cornette is outside an abandoned factory complex and has a message for anyone who wants to join the Union of FITE that only the strong need apply because only the strong survive!  Kyle and Bedlam pull up in the Union truck (a rusty looking thing) and they’re going to show how strong and powerful you need to be to be in Jim Cornette’s Union.  Bedlam pulls a cart with five people in that weighs over 1,700lbs, Kyle has a tug of war against four men and they can’t move him and Bedlam, with his back against a wall and legs up against the front of the truck, stops a truck from crushing him when the accelerator is floored.  Again like the previous Bruiser Bedlam training video, just like the old Jos Le Duc feats of strength.
  7. INT:  Jim Cornette & Bruiser Bedlam & Killer Kyle - Cornette says they’re forming the most powerful Union in wrestling and they’re only accepting the best.  The Armstrongs need not apply, especially that creaking old Bullet, and Tracey Smothers need not apply either.  The Union, called FITE, will fight anybody and be on top of Smoky Mountain Wrestling.  He couldn’t take the Commissionership away from Bob Armstrong so he’s going to take the whole thing out from under him and rule it with an iron fist.
  8. SMW Night of Legends update - Les Thatches profiles Dick Slater, Doug Furnas and Nelson Royal
  9. Recap of Jake Roberts and Tony Anthony from last week
  10. INT: Tony Anthony - Bob Caudle thinks for the first time that someone has got Jake ‘the Snake’ Roberts confused.  The Dirty White Boy says that you can see in his eyes that he is confused, the Snake is used to being the cat instead of the mouse, but now it seems Jake is the mouse and he is the cat.  A lot of things have been going on in his life; his eye is now 100%, the Dirty White Girl is getting a lot better and she can almost look him in the eye again, while he’s almost got his self-esteem back that Jake took from him.  In the cage match at Summerblast, he can’t count on his little Jap friend to help him out, he can’t slither out of the ring, there’s no way he can escape him and he’s going to prove that he deserves to be the SMW Heavyweight champion again.  He’s going to treat Jake like he treated him and his wife, he’s going to pull his soul right out of him, he’s going to take his self-respect and stamp all over it.
  11. Tracey Smothers vs James Atkins - just as the match is about to start, Jim Cornette and Killer Kyle come down to ringside.  Cornette gets on the mic and says that Atkins’ work papers aren’t in order, he doesn’t think he’s getting a proper pension plan and he doesn’t have his paid vacation.  As leader of the Union he is telling him to get out of there and go on strike.  Kyle gets in the ring and Cornette again tells Atkins if he knows what’s good for him he’ll get out of there and go on strike.  Atkins exits the ring and Cornette tells Smothers if he wants to face somebody, why doesn’t he take on Killer Kyle as he’s ready to do some damage.
  12.  Tracey Smothers vs Killer Kyle (w/ Jim Cornette) - Smothers gets the win but is immediately jumped by Bruiser Bedlam and Kyle and the Bruiser start double teaming him.  Chris Hamrick, Larry Santo and James Atkins all try to help but Kyle keeps them at bay whilst Bedlam and Cornette continue to attack Tracey.  Steve and Scott Armstrong come out and try to make the save but are quickly followed by Brian Lee, Chris Candido and Tammy Fytch.  The Armstrongs, Lee and Candido all end up on the outside which allows FITE to triple team Smothers until Bob Armstrong is next man out.  He gets the better of the three of them at first until they eventually overpower him.  Cornette with some racket shots to the Bullet’s sternum (yawn!) before borrowing some of the Bruiser’s brass knux to deck him and bust him open.  The Rock & Roll Express make the save and whilst they are battling with Kyle and Bedlam, Bob Armstrong heads to the back.  Les Thatcher and Bob Caudle are not too sure what’s going on as they say they’ve never seen the Bullet walk away from a battle in his life, before he returns with a baseball bat and clears the ring with it.
  13. INT: Bob & Steve & Scott Armstrong & Tracey Smothers & Rock & Roll Express - Bob says that Jim Cornette says he’s got a lust for power, well he’s got power in his right hand with a Tennessee toothpick at the end of it.  All he’s heard from Cornette is this ‘Union’, well tonight they are forming the ‘People’s Union’ and if they want violence they’ve got violence as they’ve had enough.  He’s going to grant Cornette his wish, is stepping down and will not be the Commissioner any longer because he’s going to be right where he belongs in the squared circle.  He tell Cornette he’ll never forget this day, they’ve had it to the hilt and from now on its “eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth” and anything he wants!  Great interview from the Bullet and the first thing in quite some time that has got me back interested in this feud.

Bold matches are PWO recommended
