CodySave
3XWrestling 6 Year Anniversary Event - Des Moines, Iowa - July 29, 2011 Results from an awesome night of action! Fans were handed a ballot as they came through the door to vote for Zach Thompson's challenger for the Pure Wrestling title. 1. Jimmy Rockwell, Tyler Cook and Matty Starr beat Gage Octane, Devin Carter and Casanova of Genesis. Rockwell pinned Carter after a Rock On (Swanton) Bomb, preceded by Matty nailing Carter with a second rope moonsault and Cook throwing him with an impressive T-Bone suplex. 2. Malia Hosaka beat Melanie Cruise. Hosaka pinned Cruise with a unique leg-based rollup after Cruise missed an incredible flying legdrop off the top rope. 3. Tony Sly beat Sir Bradley Charles thanks to an assist from Zach Thompson. SBC had Sly up for the Long Kiss Goodnight, only for Zach to jump on the apron and distract the ref and SBC. Sly slipped off SBC, hit him with a lowblow and used his unique double underhook neckbreaker for the pin. 4. Canadian Tuxedo match - Ryan Slade beat A.J. Smooth in a wild brawl. No DQ, allies banned from ringside, one fall in the ring, competitors must wear all denim. Despite Slade's denim bowtie and Smooth's acid-streaked jeans, this was a very intense battle that went all over the arena. Even a hockey stick was used as a weapon. After the ref was knocked down, Tony Sly attempted to interfer on Genesis teammate Smooth's behalf, only for Slade to avoid the attack and Ry-plex Sly. Smooth managed to release Northern Light's Suplex Slade through a table in the corner and Slade still kicked out! Slade finished Smooth off after a Canadian Destroyer. - Slade even had an awesome denim bowtie just for the match. It's unfortunately not picutred, but Smooth had a denim necktie himself. http://www.3xwrestling.com/images/3xw6Spad...rowAG&A.jpg 5. 3XW Tag Team champs American Ground & Air (Ben Sailer & Nate Bash) successfully defended the titles over Scott Spade and Sparrow, pinning Sparrow following a Doomsday Crossbody. Sailer and Bash strangely threatened broadcaster Midnight Guthrie on the mic before the match. 6. Sir Bradley Charles - voted by the fans to be Zach Thompson's opponent tonight - beat Thompson to win the 3XW Pure Wrestling title. A good back-and-forth match, which saw SBC hit the Long Kiss Goodnight for the pin. This is SBC's first title win in 3XW. 7. The Mylan Managament Agency (The Mauler & Ricky Kwong w/Chad Mylan) and The American Bulldogs (Maddog McDowell & Jon West w/Skylar Pierce) battled to a double disqualification after brawling all over the ringside area as the match was just starting. Even Mylan and Pierce went at it during this wild one. 8. Jeremy Wyatt beat Brian Ash for the 3XW Heavyweight title in a very intense brawl after Ash submitted to Wyatt's Crossface. Another match that went all over the arena with vicious strikes by both men throughout the match. At one point, Wyatt chopped Ash so hard that he hit the arena floor and Wyatt himself appeared to have injured his hand. Wyatt won the title for the second time after applying the Crossface, causing Ash to tap out. It's the first time in 6 years of 3XW history that Ash submitted to lose a match. Guest hack myers
I live up in Chattanooga,TN which is a hotbed for Indy wrestling. I've been attending shows from almost a dozen small promotions for the past ten years in the area and I've seen some good to really great stuff. A few names I'll mention are Drew Delight and Ace Rockwell. Both guys came right out of high school and began in UEW (Ultimate Extreme Wrestling). UEW was this little promotion that got shockingly big in the Chattanooga area and was arguably the most popular at the time. It started out as a bit of a hardcore funfest but ended up more as the traditional Southern Indy promotion. Delight started in probably early to mid 2001 and Rockwell I believe began sometime in 2002. As far back as I can remember these two were always trying 100% and working their asses off every night. I would say Delight is better but it's very close. I need to search for some of these guys matches on YouTube. There's a few on there that are pretty fun southern indy wrestling matches and they are actually pretty good, even great at times. There was also a guy who would often come and tape UEW shows that still is around but I haven't seen him as of late. He's great friends with another local wrestler who still attends shows but doesn't wrestle. I'd love to meet up with him and maybe rediscover some old UEW footage. Eventually, I might put some Delight and Rockwell matches up. These guys are worth viewing when their at their best.

CodySave
Apologies for the incredible delay between posts. To make up for it, in the near future, I'm going to make a massive post of links to all sorts of Midwest matches from 2011 available on YouTube. Adam Pearce is coming to Des Moines to defend the NWA World's Heavyweight title. This is the first time in over 25 years - since Ric Flair defended against Dusty Rhodes in 1986 - that the championship has been defended in Des Moines. The NWA was officially founded in Iowa in 1948 and Orville Brown, the first recognized champion after the official formation, was considered to have won the belt in Des Moines. So there's some really cool history to the title in relation to the city. If you live within driving distance, this event will definitely be worth the trip. Lots of great matches on the card. 3XWrestling - Divide & Conquer 2 Friday - January 27th, 2012 Baratta's@Forte Center 615 3rd Street Des Moines, Iowa 50309 Doors open at 6:45 pm for advance ticket holders Doors open at 7 pm for everyone else Bell time is 7:30 pm Featuring: NWA World's Heavyweight championship - First defense of the title in Des Moines in over 25 years! CodySave
Thanks to the huge crowd that attended Divide & Conquer 2 in Des Moines. 3XW will hold two events in February. Reign of Terror III is on Friday, Feb. 24 in Des Moines featuring former ECW, WCW, and WWE star Perry Saturn. 3XW also makes its debut in Grinnell, Iowa on Saturday, Feb. 25. More info about these cards can be found at http://www.3XWrestling.com Divide & Conquer 2 Results - Jan 27, 2012 - Des Moines, Iowa 1. In a 2011 King of Des Moines Tournament Finals rematch, "2011 King of Des Moines" Ryan Slade defeated "The Unbreakable" Zach Thompson by pinfall following the Ryplex. 2. Casanova & Gage Octane (w/ Todd Countryman, representing Genesis) defeated Ray Stryker & Barry Ryte, pinning Stryker after a phenomenal double-team slam while Casanova held the young rookie in his trademark Sleeperhold. 3. In their 3XW debuts, Miss Natural defeated Stacey O'Brien by pinfall following a Swinging Fisherman's Neckbreaker in a hard-hitting match 4. "The Laotian Sensation" Ricky Kwong (w/ Chad Mylan, representing the MMA) defeated Sir Bradley Charles by pinfall after a rollup. Kwong was assisted by a video of 3XW Pure Wrestling champion Arik Cannon yelling at his rival SBC playing on the video screen, causing SBC to be distracted. Prior to the match, Mylan debuted his own personal solid gold microphone, which he claims is the only one in the world. 5. "The Ironman" Mark Sterling successfully defended the 3XW Heavyweight championship over Maddog McDowell (w/Skylar Pierce, representing the American Bulldogs), pinning McDowell following his signature spear. After the bout, Sterling continued to attack McDowell. Skylar Pierce attempted to help his athlete, only for Sterling to blast him with a forearm to the face. McDowell's partner, Jon West, ran to the ring to help, but Sterling had time to setup an attack, crushing West's neck with The Disaster Piece. As Sterling began to lock the Markshooter on West, Ryan Slade ran out with the Canadian flag, causing Sterling to bail from the ring. 6. In non-title action, 3XW Tag Team champions American Ground & Air (Ben Sailer & Nate Bash, representing Genesis) went to a 15-minute draw with "The Rockstar" Jimmy Rockwell & "Rock n' Roll" Mike Sydal in an excellent match. The closing seconds of the bout saw Sailer locked in Rockwell's Boston Crab and possibly on the verge of submission as time expired. 7. Jaysin Strife beat "The American Fury" Jon West (w/ Skylar Pierce, representing the American Bulldogs) by pinfall after hitting West with a devastating leaping DDT off the middle turnbuckle in a bout that featured many spectacular moves. West favored his neck throughout the bout after the attack by Mark Sterling earlier in the evening. 8. "Torturous" Tony Sly beat "Delicious" Devin Carter (w/ Todd Countryman, representing Genesis) by pinfall after nailing him with the Skid Row. Zach Thompson attempted to interfer in another effort to try to rejoin Genesis, but Sly knocked him off the apron. Todd Countryman's attempt to interfer failed as well. 9. The first NWA World's Heavyweight title match in Des Moines since 1986 featured a very controversial ending that saw Adam Pearce retain the championship. After referee Jeromy Robb was inadvertently crushed by both men in the corner, Jeremy Wyatt applied the Crossface on Pearce, forcing him to submit - except no referee was there to see it! Mark Sterling ran out, but inadvertently nailed Pearce with the Spear when aiming for Wyatt! Wyatt cover Pearce and referee Steve Biley ran out to count the pinfall! Wyatt had won the NWA World's Heavyweight championship and the fans went wild as Wyatt celebrated with the championship! Robb, however, conferenced with Steve Biley and notified the ring announcer that he saw Sterling hit Pearce with the Spear and that Wyatt had in fact been disqualified! As a result, Pearce retains the title. As Pearce lay unconscious on the mat, Wyatt through the ropes onto Sterling outside the ring. Sterling and Wyatt brawled all over the arena before returning to the ring, where Pearce clipped Wyatt's knee from behind and both Pearce and Sterling assaulted Wyatt, culminating in a double-team Markshooter/Crossface combo. Pearce forced Wyatt to stare at the NWA title as they held him in the submission hold. vikingsfan73
If you're interested in the Jeremy Wyatt vs. Mark Sterling 3XW feud, I'd recommend picking up the "3XW Greatest Feuds - Wyatt vs. Sterling" DVD. It's a great recap of the August 2010-January 2011 series Wyatt & Sterling had, which culminated in the Iron Man Match that's been discussed here. I own all of the matches on singles DVDs already, and I grabbed this at last month's 3XW show. It was definitely worth it. Looking forward to this weekend's 3XW show. I think Gage Octane will match up well with Perry Saturn. And I'm always excited to see Devin Carter & Casanova back teaming up!
CodySave
Results from Perry Saturn's first match in the Midwest in almost a decade. He looked incredibly impressive for having only wrestled twice since returning to wrestling this past fall after being away for about 8 years. Everything he did was really crisp and the crowd was waaaayyyy into him. Thanks to the packed crowd that attended the event! 3XW Reign of Terror III - February 24 - Des Moines, Iowa 1. Triple Threat match - Jaysin Strife beat "The Laotian Sensation" Ricky Kwong (with Chad Mylan) and Ray Stryker after pinning Stryker following a leaping DDT off the middle turnbuckle. After the match, Kwong attacked Stryker with nunchucks. 2. The Mauler (with Chad Mylan) beat Sir Bradley Charles by pinfall with a schoolboy rollup following a distraction caused by another Arik Cannon video playing on the video screen to capture SBC's attention. 3. Angelus Layne beat Kiandra by pinfall following a Memento Mori DDT. 4. 3XW Tag Team titles - The Electric Centaurs (Jimmy Rockwell & Mike Sydal) beat American Ground & Air (Ben Sailer & Nate Bash) to win the titles by pinfall after a flurry of offensive moves culminated with Rockwell hitting Sailer with a Rock On (swanton) bomb for the pin. 5. "The Rebel" Jeremy Wyatt beat "The Unbreakable" Zach Thompson by pinfall following a Lightning Spiral. Following the bout, Wyatt challenged Mark Sterling to an Ironman match rematch on March 30 in Des Moines. Sterling said no, leading to a massive locker room clearing brawl between the two. Wyatt announced that by the end of the night, he would get Sterling to accept the match. 6. The American Bulldogs (Maddog McDowell & Jon West with Skylar Pierce) defeated Genesis (Devin Carter & Casanova) by pinfall after McDowell hit Carter with the Rabies Shot and West hit Casanova with the Patriot Act. 7. Perry Saturn, making his return to wrestling in the Midwest for the first time in almost a decade, defeated Gage Octane (with Todd Countryman) in a great match by schoolboy rollup after failed interference by Countryman. 8. 3XW Heavyweight champion "The Ironman" Mark Sterling defeated "The Canadian Sex Icon" Ryan Slade by pinfall following a spear. After the bout, Wyatt's music hit and he attack Sterling from behind, coming in from the crowd. Wyatt nailed Sterling in the back with a chair and handcuffed him to the bottom rope. Wyatt continually threatened to harm Sterling until he accepted Wyatt's Ironman match challenge. A variety of 3XW stars came out in individual intervals to try to convince Wyatt to stop his assault, only for Wyatt to viciously assault every man who came to the ring. Finally, as Wyatt was setting up to bash one chair into another chair into Sterling's groin, Sterling finally accepted the bout. Next event is March 30 in Des Moines, featuring Jeremy Wyatt vs. Mark Sterling in a 60 min No DQ Ironman match for the 3XW Heavyweight title!
