Great montage of wrestling moves from Luchadores. Heenan must have been out drinking during this segment.

[1997-11-03-WCW-Nitro] Scott Hall vs Chris Jericho
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in November 1997
Like a nothing win for Jericho as he gets the pin but immediately laid out after. Larry just complains on the mic after. -
What a complainer.

[1997-11-03-WWF-Raw] Shawn Michaels vs Ken Shamrock
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in November 1997
Yeah, no Bret on the go home show for Survivor Series for one of the biggest matches of the year. -
He really brings out the violent rage in me. Kissing Triple H and then Chyna was funny. Cole gets some schoolyard violence. I do enjoy Michaels mocking Hogan. Michaels and Triple got same face protection helmets to avoid Slaugher’s spit. More goofy non selling by them as Michaels must face Shamrock tonight on Raw.

[1997-11-03-WWF-Raw] Bret Hart/Shawn Michaels feud recap
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in November 1997
Great video hype for Survivor Series. I’m so rooting for Bret though. -
I thought they legitimately broke up at this point. Otherwise, it’s good acting by both of them. Dustin wants to be who he wants to be. Artist formally known as Goldust on the way.

Delphin changed back to his old outfit. They look to be in a regular gymnasium but I like those seats up top. Looks to be just two rows. Nice spot to watch the matches instead of sitting on floor. I don't know if I could sit on the floor for so long. Sasuke has himself a Austin knee brace. Funaki always felt like the lowest guy on Kaientai but this is a good performance by him and he gets a big submission win over Sauke.

Smothers is in quick sand trying to get his feet in order. Violin shot might be the best thing Kronus has done. Referee took a big guitar shot to the head. Rich with the Terry Funk leg sell. Big win by the FBI who are all messed up. This all leads to an extended brawl with tag teams including Dudleys and Axl/Mahoney.

No clue what the hell was going on other than thinking this is mayhem. Shit is getting out of control! Swinging chairs at a fan is not the brightest idea when the rest of the crowd out numbers you. Fans overtake the ring.

Slick avoidance by Hogan on the first Diamond Cutter attempt. Hogan matches are better on TV than PPV for this year. They aren’t even trying to disguise the fake Stings at this point. Fans go nuts for the real Sting. I get a kick out of Vincent being the first line of defense against Sting and not being able to properly set himself up for the reverse DDT. Hall and Hennig take one a piece too.

[1997-10-27-WCW-Nitro] Chris Benoit vs Fit Finlay
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in October 1997
What a way to climb to the top rope by Finlay to use Benoit as a stepping stone. Very physical TV match. -
[1997-10-27-WCW-Nitro] Larry Zbyszko and Scott Hall
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in October 1997
When Hall mentioned Easy E I was thinking of the rapper. Hall isn’t too interested in getting involved in the ring with Larry. -
Ross talking about Jarrett’s hit single is funny. Go back to WCW Jeff.
-
You’re so funny Shawn.

We finally get a Bret/Shamrock match which was built up since WrestleMania. Shamrock reverses the sharpshooter into the ankle lock with heel hook! But referee was knocked out. Shamrock beats up Shawn which is nice. Chyna launches Patterson on to his ass.

Sunny is now handing out plaques to the Oklahoma legends. No slight on those guys but she really hasn’t done much of anything in WWF in 97. Great for WWF to acknowledge those guys.
-
Did WCW claim to say Piper/Hogan was the greatest cage match? I agree with Cornette being sick of people complaining to be the icon.
-
Decent impression of that Mad TV guy of Hogan and Savage.

[1997-10-27-WWF-Raw] The Nation, DX and Hart Foundation
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in October 1997
Vince tries to apologize on behalf of the WWF for the locker room vandalism. Faarooq ain’t have it. McMahon doesn’t want to talk about the past and goes to interview The Rock. Nice segway! I don’t care for the racism angle itself but Rock is getting comfortable on the mic. Bret refers to the NOD as brothers. Harts will accept any type of match. The fans boos a country that has no racial prejudice. Wow, Bret is the Grand Wizard and the rest of the Harts are the Klan according to Michaels. So the NOD is the faces. Harts are tweeners for looking so stupid. DX is the clear heels in all this. I hate Shawn. -
[1997-10-26-WCW-Halloween Havoc] Hulk Hogan vs Roddy Piper (Cage)
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in October 1997
Same cage used at Superbrawl in 94 too it looks like. Hogan climbing the cage! Was this escape rules? They are pretty high up. No bumps off this cage though for these guys. So little crowd reaction to match. Referee is outside the cage but comes into cage to count pinfall. So dumb. Savage does an insane elbow off the top of the cage but it is for nothing as he hits neither Hogan or Piper. Roddy wins with the sleeper. He’s the commissioner and booked himself into this match but wasn’t smart enough to put the WCW title on the line. Just all around really bad and I shudder to think about how the whole match was. If that was a fan that climbed the cage they gave him a lot of TV time. Hogan and Savage try to beat him up too. There was more sympathy to this shithead than some of the beatings WCW guys are getting on weekly TV. -
They battle into the crowd and some fan finds this to be the right moment to take his tshrit off. DDP slams Savage on some styrofoam tombstones much to Dusty’s delight. That’s pretty funny when Dusty was talking up waitress with the tray and it came into play later with Miss Elizabeth hitting the referee with one. Horrible cat fight with Kimberly. Elizabeth wasn't very physical except for Saturday Night Main event match with Two Towers when Savage landed on her. Another fake Sting but Tony isn’t sure. DDP can’t make the 10 count after the bat shot. As staged as they where in it, I probably preferred the Bash match more.
