  1. Shawn kissing Hunter in response to the gay chants is great. That's awesome heeling. They bully Michael Cole again & he ends up being tripped by Chyna. HHH makes a Hulk Hogan joke about the Havoc cage match. Shawn says he's going to come out next week naked. He also wants to wrestle Ken Shamrock next week. He asks Sarge to come out & make the match. Sarge obliges, but before he can speak Shawn & Hunter put on riot squad head gear & add mini windshield wipers to them to block his spit. Hilarous. Sarge makes the Shamrock match for tonight though. Shawn doesn't seem all that worried to be honest. The ending of the segment is weird with Shawn trying to say something & a big pop from the crowd makes him stop. Odd. Entertaining segment, but I'm already getting tired of DX.
  2. Outstanding recap of the Bret-Shawn feud. This match really did have a tremendous year & a half long build.
  3. Big time soap opera segment. Terri is talking about how happy she is about being back with Dustin & Dakota. She's in a great mood in general. Then Dustin just snaps & goes off on Terri telling her that he's spent his whole life sucking up to his Dad or her. He's had enough of it & said when Terri was gone with Pillman (which they don't outright say of course) he found someone else. He said Terri doesn't understand him & know who he is, but this person does. He takes off his wedding ring & slams it in Terri's lap & leaves. Terri & Dustin's acting in this is tremendous. I'm actually not sure how I feel about this. I didn't hate it & thought it was compelling, but I don't know if I'd call it great. It was a really well done segment though.
  4. This would have been fine if it wasn't for the over the top shoot promo the week before where Jarrett came off like a whiny asshole. This gets into hilarious territory when Jarrett says the WWF focuses more on in-ring than WCW. I love the WWF, but come on. This is very well produced, but I don't have much else to say. This Jarrett push (which lasts maybe a month anyways) is destined to fail.
  5. Shawn doesn't want to talk to Vince & instead shows his ass. Rude saying "You're cracking me up, Shawn," is funny. Shawn is such a scumbag.
  6. Solid match. Bret works over Shamrock's leg & does the ringpost figure four. I like Shamrock blocking the Russian leg sweep & hitting the belly to belly. There's a ref bump & Shamrock actually makes Bret tap! Bret recovers & gets Shamrock in the sharpshooter. As he locks it in, Shawn Michaels comes down & superkicks him. Shawn starts wailing away at Bret. Shamrock gets up & starts beating the shit out of Shawn after he realizes he didn't win the title. The fans popped huge for Shamrock going nuts. That was awesome. Shamrock leaves & Bret jumps on Shawn. Bret & Shawn have a huge pull apart brawl to great heat as DX, the Hart Foundation, & officials run down to break it up. This is really heated. Chyna shoves Pat Patterson to the mat at the end of this. Good effort match wise with a tremendous post-match.
  7. JR, Bill Watts, the Briscos, & Danny Hodge are honored in the ring in Tulsa. Sunny making Watts blush is hilarious. Cool bit.
  8. Cornette rants about the Hogan-Piper cage match from Halloween Havoc the night before. He says too many wrestlers use the word "icon" to describe themselves. He takes digs at Shawn & Bret which is interesting. I wonder how they felt about that. He praise Taker, Flair, & Austin as well here. Fun segment even if I think it's silly to talk about WCW as much as he does here on WWF TV.
  9. I couldn't find this. It doesn't seem to be on the Network version of this show. I searched Google, but didn't look all that hard for it.
  10. The Nation come out to discuss the hate crime last week. Faarooq cuts an awesome promo again about racism in the WWF. He challenges the Hart Foundation to a match next on behalf of The Nation. The HF come out & accept the challenge. Bret says in Canada there is no racism & defends HF saying it's obvious DX are the ones who vandalized their locker room & are trying to cause dissension between the groups. DX show up on the tron. Shawn & Hunter make KKK jokes & say the Hart Foundation are clan members. This actually happened. They then claim HF used the n word which angers The Nation & they run up the aisle & brawl with HF. Hot segment, but the clan stuff is stupid as hell.
  11. Cornette reads angry message board posts from fans directed at Phil Muschnick. Funny, but I didn't care for them spending two weeks on an unlikable journalist.
  12. Great segment. The pre-match video package is awesome referencing Owen & Shawn's past with the concussion angle. Owen comes out first & asks Shawn to leave his group in the back & he'll leave his so they can settle this feud once & for all with all titles on the line. Good promo from Owen. DX comes out & Rude's mic doesn't work. Commentary hilariously buries them for it. Rude does a great intro of Shawn who comes out obliges with Owen's request. He sticks his tongue out & crotch chops a bunch during his entrance. What an asshole. The match is very good for the time it gets. These two have great chemistry. Shawn pile drives Owen on the floor, but we see it live through the lens of the tiny television in the Hart Foundation locker room as they watch on. Typical Kevin Dunn production gaffe. The match builds nicely & we get some hot near falls. Shawn sets up for Sweet Chin Music, but Owen counters & hits his enziguri. I love that it's sort of Shawn's Achilles heel. Owen looks like he might win, but Austin comes through the crowd again due another insane pop. He confronts Owen in the ring but stuns the referee because it's a title match & he doesn't want to lose his title shot against Owen. That's brilliant. Owen turns around into a Sweet Chin Music & Shawn goes for the cover, but the ref's out. Bret runs down to the ring & starts pounding on Shawn. DX run down & pull Shawn out of the ring. The Hart Foundation follow. This has great heat. I loved Bret getting some measure of revenge on Shawn for being a fucking asshole. They also protected Owen really well here & Austin doing what he did makes total sense.
  13. Jeff Jarrett comes out & shoots on the WCW, Eric Bischoff, the WWF, Vince, Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, & Steve Austin. The highlight is Jarrett saying he'll walk right out the door if Vince disrespects again resuling in the fans cheering because they clearly don't like Jarrett here. This went on & on. Some of Jarretts insults were funny including calling Shawn (?) or Razor (?) a drug addict. I didn't care for this though & thought it went too long & made Jarrett unlikable. Definitely too whiny. A total Russo segment.
  14. DX commit a hate crime in The Nation locker room with racial insults spraypainted all over the wall & the room being destroyed. They frame the Hart Foundation by placing a Canadian flag in the room. We don't see who does it, but it's obvious DX are the culprits. Faarooq is pissed & cuts an awesome promo on Vince & the WWF. Faarooq is a hell of a promo. The Hart Foundation come out one by one are prepared to fight as Bret comes to the ring for the match. DX comes down & Shawn gets on commentary calling Bret a racist & saying the WWF needs a new champion who's not as insensitive such as himself. Bret sees him & goes after him, but The Nation attack Bret resulting in a big brawl on the floor. DX escape unscathed. The match keeps going & it's nothing much. Just Bret working over Faarooq's leg. Bret goes for the ring post figure four & The Nation stop him leading to another huge brawl with the Hart Foundation. The roar of the crowd getting louder & louder as fans notice Austin coming through the crowd is amazing. Austin jumps the rail & comes in the ring to give Faarooq a stunner. This got an absolutely thunderous pop. The building was shaking. Austin goes back into the crowd & Bret comes back into the ring & covers Faarooq for the win. The hate crime stuff is ridiculous, but this is a hot segment that I liked a lot.
  15. Bad match. Animal hurts his shoulder after getting rammed into the steps. He's helped up the aisle by officials. The Godwinns trying to get themselves disqualified by taking out the ref is smart. Animal runs down & saves Hawk & starts cleaning house. Uncle Cletus comes in & accidentally hits Henry with his horseshoe. Phineas gets hit with a flying clothesline from Hawk. A new ref comes in & counts the 1-2-3. New Champs to a big pop. The Godwinns beat up Uncle Cletus & bloody his nose to close the show. Great moment with LOD saving their careers & winning the belt even if I didn't like the match.
  16. Cornette lashes out on Phil Muschnick. Fun stuff here as he completely runs him down.
  17. LOD talk about their best moments in the WWF including winning the tag belts at Summerslam 91 & coming out on motorcycles at Summerslam 92. They also have a piece where they talk about their origin a little bit. All good peices building to the big main event. The Austin segment is great. He & Vince sign the papers for his match against Owen Hart at Survivor Series. I love how smart Austin is here making Vince sign first, threatening to leave without signing, & making Vince shake his hand & telling him he could have given him a stunner if he wanted to. Austin even goes a little more baby face here asking the crowd what they think about Vince having to sign first. I liked that he said he usually doesn't asks for others opinions before doing it. He understands his character better than most wrestlers ever. Lawler was cracking me up making fun of Vince's glasses here too. After the agreement, Vince asks Austin why he attacked Faarooq & Austin says he was in the wrong place at the wrong time because he wants Owen Hart. Faarooq comes out & cuts another awesome promo on Austin. Austin tells The Nation to come down to the ring & get their asses kicked by a guy with a broken neck. Faarooq sends Rocky down who eats a stunner to a huge pop. Austin retreats as The Nation charge the ring. I loved the wide shot of the fans chasing after him as he left the arena. Austin is The Man. Laser tag commercial is fun. The best one of the bunch. Freddie Blassie is revealed as the evil villain & Sable defeats him & his goons. Then Mascarita Sagrada is unfrozen & says something about how they didn't have a funny ending so they gave him a short bit. Short puns. Nice.
  18. Kane comes out before a scheduled Flash-Shawn match is suppose to take place. Flash is already out & looks on nervously as Kane makes his entrace. Kane's early entrance is awesome. Great theme with the red lighting being a great contrast to Taker's blue. Flash goes after Kane but gets chokeslammed & tombstoned for his troubles. Bearer says that Kane will continue to go through everyone in the WWF until Undertaker agrees to fight him. Kane & Bearer leave then DX show up. Shawn covers Flash as HHH counts the three. In a funny moment, Rude reads from a sheet announcing Shawn as the winner. At the end he says "the pecan of the WWF" & Shawn gets mad before he corrects himself & says "the icon of the WWF." Pretty funny. DX crotch chop in amusing fashion at the bottom of the ramp for what seems like forever. I liked this fine, because it's more a group being wrestling heels than a group being shoot heels. Fun segment.
  19. Nothing much with the Survivor Series commercial. The sweepstakes one is great though. LOD put over Paul Ellering in a short Clip. Cool bit. The Godwinns say they're ending LOD's careers tonight. The Godwinns are terribly uninteresting.
  20. Good lord. It never ends. DX come out just as Owen & Kama begins. They take over the announce booth & eat bananas as they mock the Hart Foundation & Vince. Lawler tries to suck up to them, but is kicked off of commentary & whacked in the back of the head by Chyna. Rude joins them on commentary. Shawn & Hunter get on the announce table & crotch chop at Bret & the Anvil at ringside. This brings Bret over to them, but I guess The Nation felt threatened & start brawling with the Hart Foundation as the match is thrown out. DX are annoying as hell here instigating the brawl even more & at one point Shawn even puts on one of The Nation members hats. Why the fuck didn't either The Nation or the Hart Foundation start attacking DX? That made no sense. DX sucks.
  21. Oh my God DX are unbearable. They officially name themselves DX here as they interrupt a scheduled Bret interview on the tron to poke fun at the Hart Foundation. Shawn has said he's beaten everyone in the Hart Foundation & will take the belt from Bret again at Survivor Series. They mock Bret with video of Shawn shoving the Canadian flag up his nose from last week. HHH brags about beating Bret & says he's bigger than him in more ways than one. They mercifully finish their portion of the segment & Bret says DX won't make it to Survivor Series. DX are the worst.
  22. Great video package to open the show. They did a really good job of building the match this whole show.
  23. Ok match. HHH is still very basic with almost no charisma to make things interesting. I'd say he & Rock were on the same level in-ring during this period. Shawn individually tellings fans to "suck it" down the aisle is funny. He then sticks Bret's Canadian flag up his nose. Good lord. In a hilarious booking decision, HHH beats Bret by count-out. Chyna attacks Bret & he stops her from hitting him again. Chyna calls the next spot to Bret pretty clearly & he turns around into a superkick from Shawn. Count-out win for Helmsley. The HF check on Bret as DX celebrates like jackasses to close. I hate DX so much.
  24. Very well done video tribute to Pillman narrated by Ross.
  25. This is awful. I don't like this at all. There is some interesting conversation to be had about painkillers in sports, but this isn't the setting or the time for that conversation. One of the most tasteless things WWE has ever done.
