Wonder what obit type it will be: All-out obit in the feature section Extended story in "Here & There" Bare-bones writeup in Here & There, with a "we'll have more on Lucas in a future issue", which often isn't followed up on

Who also posts here. The Kindle version had horrendous formatting issues. Don't know if it still does. I emailed him about the issue. No response. He clearly didn't care. Not exactly a fan of his because of that. This was back before refunds for Kindle books could be initiated at the click of a button within the first seven days. Amazon doesn't sell a kindle version anymore, which is odd. Figured that having a kindle edition of a book available allows it to still be sold even if hard copies are out of print. Never read it, but remember when Alvarez interviewed the author and told him a line like "every bump in the ring hurts" was complete bullshit. And one of them said "except all of Velvet Sky's bumps hurt".

That Cena/Cesaro debate on WOR was something. They got so wrapped up in their opinions that they didn't mention Cesaro did the swing for the first time in awhile. What about someone asking a question about the Impact cancellation being a work (referencing the Eyada shows about Nitro having the plug pulled) and Dave's "FUCK NO." response? I assume the question was asked somewhat kiddingly.

I think they can wait on her. She's a tricky one to put in since her character was always portrayed as bossy and incompetent. In a kayfabe sense, what did she do to merit a place in the HoF? It's kinda like when Dave was surprised that Jesse Ventura wasn't nominated for the best guest host Slammy in 09 (I recall since I asked a question on WOR about it where Dave cut Bryan off with a NO! NO! NO!). Why would a host who turned heel at the end be nominated for a kayfabe award? Even if his performance was strong per "mega" wrestling fans? If you want to place her in a WON-style independent HoF for her performances and tenure, that's one thing. There are plenty of females that were around before 2006 that they can put in, need honor the past some more rather than figures from the 2010s.

Another problem with Elizabeth is finding someone to induct her (that has more than a loose connection to her) and someone to accept (probably end up being a sibling/relative that no one knows).
-
She had a lengthy run, at least. Solid candidate, but to say she is one of the two "best available female potential inductees" is a bit much for me. Ivory is a good idea. She's older, instead of in their mid 30s like some of the other women inductees (and after Sunny, they are going to be careful). Hope they consider her.

I'm just a bit surprised Dave didn't think of some other names like I mentioned earlier. Mickie seems too young, has been out of WWE for 4+ years (as an active performer, visiting NXT doesn't count) and was only there 4 or so years, along with some political issues and bad portrayals while on the roster. Victoria is alright, but there's a few other names to "burn off" before you get to her.
-
Forgot to bring up, this was on the Wednesday Bryan/Dave show, but someone asked a question about who the next female WWE HoF inductee would be. Dave basically said (although he segued it into Jim Ross talk) that there were not any stronger candidates than the rumored Victoria and Mickie James. Really? No Stacy Kiebler? Or Sable? Torrie Wilson, Medusa, Molly Holly or maybe someone else who was around before 2000?

Isn't Larry Nelson a catalyst of sorts for Eric Bischoff's rise in the 'rasslin business?

Just noticed he was on Opie & Anthony today. May have to listen. Did he reveal it there? -

Well, isn't one of Dixie's catch phrases, "It's good publicity"? Or "Publicity over profit"? -
I do recall during the Russo live Youshoot (shown on iPPV 2 years ago but not released on DVD) that Sean Oliver (at least) called out Bryan and Dave for not submitting any questions. Think I've only read bits and pieces of Death of WCW, so I don't know if interviews were done or if they got quotes from old articles for the original version for sources. Bryan's opinion of Russo is well-known, he probably just didn't want to bother talking to him, even if Russo was more than willing to speak. I think Russo is on good terms with RD Reynolds tho, he did his podcast earlier this year. But I'm not sure how much RD was involved with the book's revision.

Cornette hasn't done anything for RF in awhile, has he? Seemed like he was more Kayfabe Commentaries "exclusive" over the last few years.

I think a few of the 2014 house shows have taken place at high schools. Don't know the comparative costs, but some high school gyms can hold a decent crowd. They could pull some lame gimmick like "If Robbie E wins, the principal gets hit with a pie" or such. -
Different configuration. Correct. There's no way they were ever expecting 80K to show up for basketball, especially with so many obstructed seats by the sideline where the red temp bleachers are and such. For some reason, I first assumed the court would be on the center of the field.
-
This may not make much of a difference with WM3 attendance talk, but the Detroit Pistons (basketball) played their home games in the Silverdome most of the 80s. Not sure what the floor setup would be, but there had to have been seating on the field during games. From what I can tell, the most they (Pistons) had was around 60,000.

If Zane Bresloff was still alive, would we get more or less talk about this?
-
I just downloaded the sample of his bio on my kindle, didn't know it was out on e-books. He says toward the start of the book proper he was born on April 23, 1954, and a preceding chronology also confirms this. I guess someone was goofing on his wiki page and no one corrected it. A TMZ article from a few weeks ago where he talks about fighting in Korea also says he's 70. (http://www.tmz.com/2014/05/20/tony-atlas-wwe-north-korea-kim-jong-un-wrestling/)
-
Was Tony Atlas born in 1944 or 1954? I was listening to a show last night and they had a long debate about it, since there is a lot of conflicting info out there. I'm leaning toward 1954, since he apparently won a teen bodybuilding title in the mid 70s. Does his book say anything about it?

The Impact review in this week's issue had one of Dave's infamous "ALL CAPS" criticisms he pulls maybe once every year or so. Was about one of the Wolves. Wish someone would index all the "ALL CAPS" passages. He did one a few years ago about some awful music playing during an AJ Styles vignette.

That reminds me of this (brief, 55:10 mark if link doesn't take you there): http://youtu.be/t74RSR6fqAk?t=55m10s I thought I read something at the time that this lady was a legit stalker and was jailed, anyone remember the aftermath, if any?

Your first point does make sense. That's about the only logical way that you can expand Raw yet cut back on on-screen intros. Maybe all this reminds me of the typical 80s/90s tv shows full of squash matches. Even if in-ring intros are repetitive, it helps pace the show and make matches mean something (or appear that way). There was no reason for Cesaro to get no on-screen intro on Raw this week. He looked like Hardwork Bobby Walker with Teddy Long on a 1997 WCW Pro ep last night. This is a guy on the rise. If they can make time for Ryder to get his full intro, then Cesaro should as well.
-
I wonder this as well. I never thought so, even with far less women in wrestling to compete with at that point in that regard. When she was brought onto WWECW in '06, it was almost like she was "accidentally" hired, since she wasn't used for awhile (maybe some house shows), then brought in for a few TVs, then released shortly thereafter. I'm stunned during the Diva Search era that she was part of a roster. With the influx of sorts in the mid 90s of females in wrestling, most of them were wifes/girlfriends of wrestlers. Don't think Francine fits in that category, but none of the promotions were doing casting calls at that point, and probably hired females who were "convenient" for them. Beggars can't be choosers.
-
For the past year or so, Raw has used the "jobber intro" (where the wrestler is already in the ring before the match starts) way more frequently, despite an extra hour. I can't stand it, especially for wrestlers who are supposed to be relevant and/or pushed. Even IC/US titleholders have been "jobber introed" at times. The logic for who got jobber intros last night was bizarre. Cesaro, who is on the rise, with high profile Heyman, gets a jobber intro, but still wins. Eva Marie, who is well-known to the "universe", gets a jobber intro and also wins. She may not be a contender, but she's not Iron Mike Sharpe either. Zach Ryder got his full intro. Emma and Alicia Fox both got full intros.
