  1. A few runs on national TV for both major promotions? Yea but Tenta had that too and I dont see a wide gulf between him and Bigelow except that Tenta doesnt have the awesome Memphis run. Now if we were ranking best tattoos in wrestling or best wrestler cameos in movies I could see Bam Bam doing real well there. Bam Bam did better cartwheels! ... As I kid I was pretty impressed by Bigelow's agility for his size. Later I've seen others do about the same. I like Bam Bam a good bit still, and think he could have been a good draw in wwf if he'd been used right / played his cards right during his 87-88 run. He was getting way over. But a big man used as high flying underdog will only get you so far. And one of the reasons Andre, Brody, Hansen and other "fed-hoppers", as I see them called, did well when moving around territories and not staying long was the larger than life aura and booking that made them unbeatable and feared monsters. With kayfabe eyes (which DOES matter in terms of story, connection with the average fan and ticket sales) Bigelow lost too often and was booked too weak. His flame-tatooed skull looked impressive as hell, but to casual fans that story has to be backed up by dominance in the ring. ... Based solely on his work I do like him though. Outside of my top 100, and possibly not a top 10 big man (depending on what constitutes a big man... 300 pound plus? He's not on. "Only" a big, fat gut? Maybe...)
  2. But when did you see him live? Against Warrior in wwf? In the 70's? In Japan? At Wrestlemania III? I saw Hogan in 93. Big time presence. Lousy work. Won't judge his 82-91 on that. EDIT: Since I'm not that big on Hulk, maybe my point is better by saying that Tito wrestled The Predator and Duggan yelled a lot against somebody on the same card. I'd place them both about #850 if I was to go by that memory :-)
  3. I was hoping someone popped up there who had been bashing him :-)
  4. This X 1000. I have been a Motorhead fan my entire life. When I saw the documentary "Lemmy" I realized that Trips was as big a fan as I. And Trips did a ton for Lemmy and Motorhead. And Lemmy loved Trips. And with apologies to Austin Aries, Lemmy was the Greatest Person Who Ever Lived. So if Triple H loved Motorhead, and Lemmy loved Trips, there is no possible way Trips can be all bad. Lemmy really was one of the most real, authentic people ever. Seeing Lemmy and Trips talk about each other in various interviews, and seeing Trips give his eulogy at Lemmy's funeral made me like Trips a lot more as a human being. Does that mean Trips deserved to be in the Top 100? No. But it was interesting to me. And if you don't like Motorhead and you don't understand Lemmy? Well, I don't mean to be judgmental, but you deserve to get some sort of open sores all over your body which continue to worsen until you eventually expire in agony. And your last words should be "I was wrong about Lemmy. Please play "Killed By Death" at my funeral." There, I said it. Yup. You said it!
  5. It is unavoidable... He is our destiny...
  6. True. ... Gotta say, since I've been a pretty vocal biglav supporter, I'm glad you still have 81 guys left. I could convince myself that's a sign that there's something to that system. It's more a sign I think that the areas I consider to be "niches", and didn't rank, are in fact niches. Trouble is, Steven didn't bother with shootstyle either and I think his 83 guys and my 81 guys have about a 90% overlap. I need a few more of those lucha punks to fall if I'm going to "beat him", lol Like Steven I also have 83 left, and I've heard your lists ;-) I'll be shocked if we don't all have everyone from the top 25. What determines the result of "the race"? Most guys in the top 100? First guy to have every remaining wrestler?
  7. It's a competitive world. Will, you have a sense of humor so dry, it reminds me of the region of Denmark I was born in. I love it! I also love Depeche Mode and this amazing post by Loss!
  8. True. ... Gotta say, since I've been a pretty vocal biglav supporter, I'm glad you still have 81 guys left. I could convince myself that's a sign that there's something to that system.
  9. Bigelow being that high just shows me how many ballots there are outside of the 'PWO bubble' because the idea he is one of the best big men ever has been thoroughly debunked around here. How the fuck do you debunk an opinion? This isn't Mythbusters. Maybe it should be :-) Maybe we should start using "busted", "plausible" and "confirmed" when people talk in absolutes and make definitive statements :-)
  10. Yeah, you looked stacked until the 140 mark. I have a feeling I'll take a big hit over the weekend...
  11. 100 Magnum TA99 Mr. Saito 98 Rick Steiner 97 Ivan Koloff 94 Dean Malenko 93 Tommy Rogers 91 Ken Patera 89 Scott Steiner 88 Jose Lothario 87 Tommy Rich 85 Dennis Condrey 77 Adrian Adonis 74 Bob Orton Jr 72 Antonio Inoki 71 Michael Hayes 69 Johnny Saint 64 Yoshiaki Yatsu 63 Pat Patterson 40 Mocha Cota 19 soldiers down, 81 left The race is on. It's SO on :-) And in this race there's no price for ranking Dustin twice ;-)
  12. How many of your ranked joshi's left? That's so much the next field I'm looking into.
  13. Shit. You and Kris could still have 80 by the top 100... Impressive...
  14. Don't tell anyone, but I've gone El G on my list... I'm ready for the Angle and Jericho bashing though :-) ... But seriously. Aren't we close to where there's only at the very least decent guys left?
  15. Not too bad... Anyone's got more? I'm at 83 left after loosing Patterson :-(
  16. Ok... My last post about Trips: Anyone see him on The Weakest Link? That said it all. Stephanie and a few other wwe guys were also on. Everyone was kissing Steph's ass. And Hunter came of incredibly manipulative and pussywhipped at the same time. Nothing to do with his ring work, but just very descriptive of him. But I have one big compliment for him! He's responsible for Motörhead getting a shitload of new fans!!!! ... Actually he maybe deserved a top 100 spot just for cashflowing Lemmy... Shit. I take all my critique of him back!!!! All hail the King of Kings!!!
  17. Hahaha!!!! That's funny!!!!!
  18. Lol he literally gets listed just as a wrote this. You have awesome timing :-) Thanks for ending this part of the "debate". Who the hell are we gonna focus on being overrated now? :-) And kudos for the reveal, Steven! Kurt Angle probably Oh fuck... Kurt's still there... And Loss said Undertaker... We've still got guys to talk about :-)
  19. Lol he literally gets listed just as a wrote this. You have awesome timing :-) Thanks for ending this part of the "debate". Who the hell are we gonna focus on being overrated now? :-) And kudos for the reveal, Steven!
  20. Nope. It's all about the game!
  21. Sadly true :-( ... Maybe it's that mythical "Hive-Mind" that you didn't know you were a part of, that has raised The Tripster, The Game (what fucking game? The shit he pulls? Or the big game of Africa making him the hunted, not the hunter?), The Self-proclaimed Ring General, Mr and Mrs Stephanie McMahon...
  22. Absolutely valid and I know several guys who really dig him. I prefer at least a little challenged perception from 98% of my top 100, so no room for me for "The yacht rock of wrestling" (nice!). 'Cause I am bored by most his stuff I've seen. Not bad, but my mind wanders to my work, stuff that needs doing on the house, the grocery list, the color of the wall paper and back to the absolutely smooth and fine match.
  23. Damn. Pat Patterson gone :-( I know it's pretty strong names by now, but had hoped against my better judgment that he'd just make the final 100. Oh well, too bad. Not enough footage, and virtuallly none from his prime, so there you go.
  24. True! Dean Malenko couldn't even zzzzzzzzzzzzz... Shit. I dozed off. Guess I was thinking of a Malenko match... (Yeah, yeah. Shoot me for calling him boring, like I did with Inoki).
