  1. Right on! I did like Haku/Meng, but agree that there's not enough there to crack this list, but the Montreal stuff is cool (the little I've seen). Also like this one against Rick Martel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2xBpHFnXAI Not sure it's from Montreal, but it's a cool, short match :-) ... Happy where I have Martel, and not quite enough to make me rank Haku, but I totally understand those who did rank him :-)
  2. This is the type of response that I find infuriating. Where's the rule that says there are certain workers everyone should have and if they dont, they are lesser fans or something? I didn't rank any non NA wrestlers because even though ive seen a fair share of non US work, it still pales to my exposure of guys like Steiner. And I really dig his style. Hard hitting, throws, clotheslines, all of it. I'd rather watch a Steiner match than almost anything else. So yeah, he's a top 100, for me personally. Guys need to lighten up and stop bashing other people's likes and dislikes. Get over the fact that some of us are the equivalent of "Shawshank Redemption" or "Star Wars" is the best film of all time wrestling fans. Yes! Yes! Yes! I agree with the Beast! (And I have a number of non-US wrestlers on my list, I don't have Rick Steiner near my list and I would take "Star Wars" over "Shawshank" and would also argue its merits from an artistic point of view even though they're both great). Debating and critiquing other's choices, cool. Bashing people's likes and dislikes? As Beast says: Lighten up and get over it
  3. Holy hell... Two days away from the board and there's litterally hundreds of posts in just the thread on honourable mentions. So many that a brand new thread was created. Way to go! To those who believe that this poll should have been kept exclusive and only for a certain few invites, this level of activity totally justifies the open vote to me. Too bad that those select few who have seen the light and know excactly what makes up a great wrestler can't control the vote by deciding that only those who agree gets a say ;-) And don't worry, the "consensus" strong anti-WWF 85-96 bias will still shine through in the eventual top 100, I'm sure. You can sleep safely at night knowing that the rest of us heathens without good taste won't end up staining the shrine too badly As long as it's within reason, I also love the passion when people love or hate other voters choices. The only comments I have found idiotic is when people say that voters have misunderstood the point of this list, or that voting for someone almost invalidates the entire thing. Grimmas & Co. made a very conscious effort to say from the start that what makes a wrestler great is up to each voter to figure out for themselves. I know it's been discussed to death, but I've never officially heard this list described as a best worker ever list (whatever then defines "work"). So fuck off for attacking whatever criteria people have set for themselves. ... That's not the same as saying we can't laugh at, comment on or critique someones choices :-) That debate is part of the fun, and has resulted in one of my personal high points so far: mrzfn making his case for ranking Quack so high ... From the 2-3 matches I've seen with him, I probably wouldn't consider him any higher than about #350, but mrzfn made the case so well and honestly that I completely buy his high ranking of the guy.
  4. The way I see it with 150 ballots, those things get cancelled out. The top 100 is a really really good list, trust me. Excactly! Haven't seen the top 100 obviously, so I might eat my words, but it seems like it cancels itself out like Grimmas says. Brian Kendrick at a final place somewhere between #350 and #400, isn't that fair enough?
  5. I know this might turn into the "Grimmas fan club", but damn you deserve all the standing ovations in the world for your work on this! This project and the reveal is so much fun!!!! Great way to get to take the time to get a good look at the different names popping up, instead of just brushing through them all at once. I take a quick look at the career and bio of the names as you reveal a new one. And whenever there's match reccomedations I mark them up for later watching. Awesome way to get a thorough look at a ton of (for me) new names. 'Cause there's a lot in this list I am only barely familiar with if at all. The comments from everyone in this thread also helps with that. So thanks everyone! None of my 100 have come up yet, and I still think (fear?) that I won't be the single high vote on anyone. So my avatar is gonna stay Thor the God of Thunder for a while (maybe until the 2026 poll when I have to make sure I'll be the high vote on someone...).
  6. Let's not forget that it's all subjective. Oh, I'm so gonna need that reasoning for one or two of my spots later on Still, regarding Nash... I just don't focus on someone ranking him close to #50, but only look at his final placement at #405. I guess I could live with putting him there on my own list...
  7. Think I've seen two matches of hers, so didn't feel qualified to rank her (as with too many joshi sadly). But those two matches were more than enough to know I'd have her higher than Nash...
  8. That's excactly the one I meant! Spitting image that one :-) Ahhh... shit. I skimmed for the joke first and just missed it. Beat me to it... ohhh well, that joke has legs for a bit. I laughed even harder when you posted the picture, than when I first thought of it, so it might actually get better and better :-)
  9. That's excactly the one I meant! Spitting image that one :-)
  10. Also if you're not the biggest Jarrett fan? Pritchard's totally underrated, so I'll definetely take your word for it and check it out :-)
  11. Sweet! It's all cued up :-) Will watch it tonight. Thanks!
  12. Totally agree! Add Dr. Tom to that list... Didn't think he'd show up already, but he surely did better in the tag ratings...
  13. Cool! Thanks. Will find it and watch. Match recommendations is one of my favorite things about pwo :-)
  14. Yeah, I thought people were much higher on Mistico too. This list might be quite influential when pwo members want to check out new stuff. I haven't seen much Mistico, and was considering giving him a closer look, but I'm pretty sure there's gonna be blank spots for me that will be ranked higher now, so they might move ahead of him on my "to watch list"...
  15. Hans Schmidt - He can annoy you El Canek - Good for your wealth I'm digging these old school tag lines :-) ... Could be a round of "Real or made up" for Johnny's Brainbuster show :-)
  16. I take umbrage with your comment, sir. Honky Tonk getting destroyed by Ultimate Warrior is easily one of the top 50 greatest squashes of all time. Most likely top 10, if not top 5. Including that botched spot where he has to move into position to take the big splash, 'cause one of them fucked up their placement... I love that stupid match, but 49 people might have been better at taking that completely uncontrolled and uncoordinated beating :-)
  17. I'm so curious who you do like and rank :-) And I'm not being sarcastic. It feels like we're rating two different types of sport (sorry, Vince, "sports entertainment"). But maybe that's part of the beauty of wrestling. It can be so many different things to different people. That you have neither Flair nor Steamboat listed, even though you know their work and you're not trying to be clever about it is fascinating to me. In a good way!
  18. Agree :-) His hair is just like Eugene's on The Walking Dead... I'm looking at the Kitahara pic and instead of noticing the hair, all I could think was that it must have been cold when they took that pic. Hahahahaha!!!! You made me look again... Now I don't notice the hair so much either...
  19. Had almost forgotten that one :-) Fantasy booking's going into overdrive here now :-)
  20. Agree :-) His hair is just like Eugene's on The Walking Dead...
  21. That's the look of a true "King of Kings"!
  22. I was SO close to ranking him... Really happy he's not come up yet :-)
  23. Ditto. Also on Dory... Except I do have one guy that I know you'll hate me for ranking, and I think he'll show up before Dory :-)
  24. Damn... Ohtani was faster :-)
