  1. Now, we are closing to WON Hall of Fame 2018 season. Like last years, the Mexican group is full of a lot of contenders, like Villano III, Cien Caras, L.A.Park, Ultimo Guerrero, Blue Panther, Mistico, Karloff Legarde, Los Misioneros de la Muerte, Los Brazos. Other groups are not full of no brainer like Mexican section, but there are a lot of interesting candidates like Junkyard Dog, CM Punk, Edge, Big Daddy, Sgt. Slaughter, Goldberg, Akira Taue, Jun Akiyama, Johnny Saint, Yoshiaki Fujiwara....... How do you weight criteria? In the sense, how much important is work, for you? Does deserve more to be in a huge draw for a short time, like Goldberg, or a great worker for a long time, who was not a great draw, like AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan who were inducted last two years? Like in the topic of the historical importance, here, I made some comparisons, where you should choose who is the best candidate for the Hall of Fame. I also mixed candidates of various groups among each other, although is more difficult to compare them. Obiouvsly there are comparisons, in which you think that nobody deserves the WON HOF, like Edge vs Warrior. In that case the best thing would be that you vote for the candidate that you think is closer to the WON HOF, or at least the less far. In invite users that talked a lot about WON HOF in the past, like Dylan Waco, to partecipate in the topic. As you know, The criteria for the Hall of Fame is a combination of drawing power, being a great in-ring performer or excelling in ones field in pro wrestling, as well as having historical significance in a positive manner. A candidate should either have something to offer in all three categories, or be someone so outstanding in one or two of those categories that they deserve inclusion. Longevity should be a prime consideration rather than a hot two or three year run, unless someone is so significant as a trend-setter or a historical figure in the business, or valuable to the industry, that they need to be included. However, just longevity without being either a long-term main eventer, a top draw and/or a top caliber in-ring performer should be seen as relatively meaningless. The comparisons are: Mistico vs Akira Taue Goldberg vs Yoshiaki Fujiwara Edge vs The Ultimate Warrior Junkyard Dog vs Blue Panther Randy Orton vs Johnny Saint Thank you very much
  2. What do you think about Roman Reigns? Is he a good worker? Do you think that he is a good draw? Outside USA, do you think that he is a big star? For example in India, I think that a lot of people know him. According to google trends he appears to be also a bigger star than The Rock, McGregor and Mayweather in India. Thank you very much
  3. Charles, however, in your opinion, what should happen to consider Bryan's historical importance as positive? Should a NXT star become the face of WWE or should the WWE style change, or something other?
  4. In 10/15 years I will ask you this question again.
  5. In that sense, do you think also that Bryan was also more influential than Benoit and Guerrero, after Foley?
  6. Weren't Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero, who proved that a guy who didn't have the typical look could become a top star?
  7. Although, as you said, the career of some wrestlers, like Bryan and Styles, are still in course, and we can not establish their legacy, what would be your choises at the moment?
  8. Good morning. I usually open this kind of poll on wrestlingclassics, and I compare the historical importance of wrestlers. How much important is the criteria "historical importance" in judging the career of a wrestler and his hall of fame status? Is it more important than "drawing power"? First of all I want to ask you what do you think about "fame" and"popularity". For example, probably wrestlers like Batista and Randy Orton are way more popular and more known by people than wrestlers like Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles, because they were on top for longer and they were main eventer in more popular periods for pro wrestling. But does that mean that Orton and Batista are more important? Obiouvsly the comparisons are about who is the most important wrestler, NOT about who is the best wrestler/worker. For example, Johnny Gargano could be a better worker than The Rock, but in no way he is more important. The comparison of my poll are: Stan Hansen vs John Cena Kurt Angle vs Goldberg AJ Styles vs Randy Orton Jeff Hardy vs Daniel Bryan Batista vs Edge
  9. In your opinion, what would be an example of Bryan better than Styles at selling? For example a specific match.
  10. What do you think about their selling? For example I think that Styles' selling in his best matches was better than Bryan's selling in his best matches.
  11. This year I think that is one of the weakest of Styles' career. He has not any MOTY, and for sure received more opportunities than Daniel Bryan. His matches against Nakamura were disappointing. Also his tv show matches were not better than Daniel Bryan's. For example they both wrestled Rusev, but Bryan's match was better.
  12. This is my opinion about the argument. I think that a right comparison can be done after watching Bryan vs Morishima from Manatthan Mayhem and Styles vs Suzuki from 2014 Climax. I think that Styles sold better his injuries during and after the match. Bryan appears to not selling in some moments. I'm not talking specifically about this match, but also about his match against Nigel from Unified, for example. He didn't sold his fatigue after a long match and he got up immediately after the finish, while Styles was down for almost a minute before getting up. However I think that Bryan is slightly a better storytelling and slightly better at in ring psychologhy.
  13. Good afternoon. I opened this topic to compare Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles about in ring ability. We talked about them in the last topics, but now I'd like to talk about specific aspects, like selling, storytelling and in ring psychologhy. First of all what is the real meaning of in ring psychologhy and storytelling? What are the criteria of judgment? Who is better in these specific aspects, trying to be more objective as possible, not only judging as fans but as impartial critics? Why? What do you think about Danielson's selling, in particular I'm talking about his selling during his indy run, because it's obvious that, for example, WWE imposed him to not sell inuries at Wrestlemania XXX, like also Batista said during an interview, so in that case it's not Danielson's fault. Do you think that the selling is one of his few deficiences inside the ring? Thank you very much
  14. It's obvious that a result of a poll doesn't indicate the truth, but it helps me to know how users think.
  15. However, sometimes, I can misunderstood some sentence, considering that English is not my first language.
  16. The match is so much better than their previous match from Backlash. It was 20 minutes long. Bryan is very good, while Cass is bad as always, althought this is probably the best match in Cass' career. Rating: ***1/4
  17. Before you start any more polls, please offer your own take on some of this stuff. It sometimes feels like you're data mining us. In reality, now I'm forming my knowledge and my critical ability. I'd like to give my opinion, when I will have the full knowledge. I consider all of you as superior to me, now. So you are forming an opinion on whether you are a fan of wrestling history or not? Yeah, that makes sense. I think we've been here before don't you? Yes, I'm a fan of history. I'm reading Heroes and Icons of Greg Oliver, and I'm studying the career of numerous historical wrestlers, like Jim Londos, George Hackenschmidt, Frank Gotch. I like so much, to know new things.
  18. This is Bryan vs Cass from the live event in Waco. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NOv2TBvg_F4 There is not a June 2018 section, so I posted it here.

  20. As the title said, did you ever study wrestling history? If the answer is positive, what do you like to study? Pionier era (Gotch, Burns, Jenkins, Hackenshmidt, Lewis, Stecher......), Jim Londos era, Lou Thesz era, Territorial era? Did you ever read history's books? If yes, what books? Thank you
  21. This is Daniel Bryan vs The Miz from Newcastle. How would you judge it?

  23. Hi. I found the list of the best workers of the 80s, published in WON yearbooks. These lists are not the end of the year awards, but 40/50 people watched a lot of tapes from all over the world, and they sent to Meltzer their ranking of the best workers. It's similar to GWE project. This is the list of 1982: 1 Ric Flair 2 Jimmy Snuka 3 Ted DiBiase 4 Harley Race 5 Bob Backlund 6 Bruiser Brody 7 Hulk Hogan 8 Nick Bockwinkel 9 Roddy Piper 10 Stan Hansen 11 Paul Orndorff 12 The Superstar 13 Dory Funk 14 Andre the Giant 15 Dusty Rhodes 16 Jack Brisco 17 Don Muraco 18 Sgt. 24. For example, I am watching all possible AJPW matches, starting from the beginning. Now I'm arrived to 80s, so I can't give a full opinion about AJPW 90s, although I watched some matches.
  25. I'm recovering everything possible. In a couple of years I will have a complete opinion.
