  1. Doug Gilbert posted on Facebook that he visited the WWE Performance Center in Orlando today.....Dougie as a trainer would be awesome
  2. Thing is....Brown would tour Vancouver, Stampede, Winnipeg, Maritimes so he did venture out.
  3. Yeah that Bob Brown was a GCW jobber in 1983-84....bald musclehead guy
  4. Kings of Central States

  6. Fred Ward was a major player in the NWA. He was a VP for years plus check out his position in the various incarnations of GCW in the NWA post Ray Gunkel Georgia Championship Wrestling, Inc. 7. Yeah the TV show in the Southern part of the state would be half Techwood/half Macon or Columbus
  8. Fred Ward was very successful as he ran Macon, Columbus, Albany and the rest of South Georgia. They had solid houses up until the promotion started going up north
  9. Flair always shit on the territory saying that it was an embarrassment to defend the NWA title at a Ford dealership in Kansas in front of 40 fans against Rufus R. Jones.
  10. Yeah that's right forgot about that
  11. I wouldn't call Bob Brown a great draw but he was good enough for the small buildings that CS ran. Sure they ran Kansas City but on the Kansas side other than the rare shows at Kemper Arena which Bob was midcard on those shows. Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Kansas was OLD and not very big.
  12. The marathon that started this morning at 10 AM has been all very early episodes of GWF including the only appearance of Stan Lane & Jim Cornette
  13. Well the Northeast fans adapted to the South's product a whole helluva lot more than the South did the WWF. If you look at the numbers for many years WWF didn't do great business in the South other than the major cities in Florida which are known for their NE refugees. JCP would go to Philly and did strong business.
  14. It goes back to the way you are trained to watch the product....they educate you on what they want you to like...at least back before the internet.
  15. They also started airing repeats from Monday last night as well so we'll see how that progresses
  16. GWF from the Doyle King era is out there but the VQ isn't always the best.
  17. What it looks like they are doing is they started on a certain date and are showing the shows in daily order so you get the Supercards mixed in with Legends as they aired
  18. Ox had his best runs in WWA & ICW (Poffo)
  19. They got pissed at the Fabs and turned on them from what I remember.
  20. Nope
  21. Yeah Don Jardine was definitely high in the list for this era.
  22. GCW & CWF were very close probably the closest knit of all the territories together. JCP & GCW was pretty tight as well and GCW was tight with Mid-South as Watts was booking both at the same time for a while there.
  23. And that was on loan from WWF
  24. See that's where the 3 state system comes in as they ran almost every night and Valentine was in a position to be a main eventer most of the time. Yeah those cards you put up where during the period where Greg slid down the card to advance Piper, Andersons, & Ivan. My 70's results are far from being complete as I don't have the time to really devote myself to filling all the holes but I'm fairly solid on 1980 and Valentine was in 101 main events that year and the semi-main event 37 times.
  25. Flair & Valentine was the classic case of the charismatic guy and the workhorse but different as the charismatic guy was a workhorse also. They tried to make Valentine into Flair after Flair turned face even doing the same angle they did with Steamer & Flair 3 years earlier as Flair would strip Valentine in the ring. Valentine's main weakness was his charisma outside the ring as yeah he was good enough on the stick he wasn't Flair, Mulligan, Piper, or Patera. Regarding his push Valentine was a main eventer in all of his JCP runs.....he was a made man.
