Pacific Coast Wrestling Vegas Vengeance from the Showboat Arena, Las Vegas, Night One Brian Christopher vs. Lou Perez Vegas Vengeance kicks off with two promising up and comers. Both men are a few months into their careers, and while they have been paying their dues and taking their lumps, they have pulled out a few impressive wins. Christopher has found a willing mentor in his manager James E. Cornette, while Perez embraced the fellowship of the Brigade. The match was a study in contrasts between the daredevil tactics of Christopher and the more methodical and scientific style of Perez. It seemed like Christopher would take it when he had Perez set up for the Chris Cross (full nelson facebuster), but the Ladies Man blocked it and countered with a legsweep. Perez then followed up by attempting to apply the Indian Deathlock, but Christopher was able to make it to the ropes to break the hold. The two will still going at it when the bell rang, signaling a 15 minute time limit draw. Both men shook hands after the match in a display of sportsmanship that pleased the fans. Dustin Rhodes vs. Maxx Payne Dustin Rhodes is another young rookie who has been working hard to establish himself. He has pulled off some solid wins, but faced his sternest test so far in the bully of the Neighborhood Of Evil. Maxx Payne hit Dustin hard, but the son of the American Dream returned fire with equal determination. Little by little, though, the man from Hell's Kitchen wore Dustin down. Rhodes tried to bring him down with a Bulldog Headlock, but Payne blocked it and countered with a huge Atomic Drop. He then followed up with the Payne Threshold (front layout suplex) and that was that. A tough loss for Dustin, but you can bet your bottom dollar he will bounce back. Owen Hart & Pierre Carl Ouellet vs. Cactus Jack & Cyrus The Virus One of the more unexpected pairings of late in PCW has been that of Owen Hart and Pierre Carl Ouellet. The youngest scion of the Hart Family and the double tough French Canadian have united against their common foes, the equally unusual duo of Cactus Jack and Cyrus The Virus. The Wild Things were a lot for Owen and PCO to handle, with their crazy daredevil offense, but Owen was able to hold off Cactus long enough for Pierre to hit a Cannonball Senton to get the win on Cyrus. If they keep up like this, it won't be long before Owen and PCO are in title contention. Moondog Lonnie Mayne Memorial Tag Team Tournament First Round Match : The Lethal Weapons (Steve Blackman & Al Snow) vs. Bob & Crash Holly For the past few years, the Moondog Lonnie Mayne Memorial Tag Team Tournament has been an annual high point of the PCW schedule, and with the Tag division thriving the way it has been, the third tournament has garnered a lot of attention. Two new teams kicked off the tournament, with the scrappy Holly Cousins giving a real fight to Blackman and Snow. The Lethal Weapons kept their cool and Snow was able to pin Crash with the Snow Bomb, bringing his team to the Semi Finals. Moondog Lonnie Mayne Memorial Tag Team Tournament First Round Match : The Golden Guns (Jerry Lynn & Biff Wellington) vs. Joe & Dean Malenko The next match in the tournament featured a relatively new pairing of Lynn and Wellington taking on a team that has been working together their whole lives, the Malenko Brothers. The Golden Guns were eager to prove themselves, and gave a good accounting against the brothers, using deft double teams and combinations to keep them on their toes. Ultimately, though, the experience of the Malenkos proved to be the difference, with Dean pinning Lynn following a Brainbuster to move on in the tournament. Moondog Lonnie Mayne Memorial Tag Team Tournament First Round Match : The Southern Boys vs. The Suicide Blondes (Chris Candido & Louie Spiccoli) These two teams had different motivations for the tournament, with Armstrong and Smothers looking to work their way up the tag team rankings while Candido and Spiccoli fighting to impress their Knights Templar leader Bob Backlund. Both teams dug in and hit hard, with Spiccoli in particular knocking the Southern Boys for a loop on several occasions. He failed to notice Armstrong tagging out, however, and wound up being caught by surprise when Smothers came off the top with a Jawjacker to pin him. A hard fought win for the Southern Boys, with more fights ahead if they hope to win the tournament. Moondog Lonnie Mayne Memorial Tag Team Tournament First Round Match : The Hollywood Vampires (The Vampire Warrior & Makhan Singh) vs. Muscle Beach (Rod Price & Tommy Cairo) This was a wild one, as could be predicted with two teams associated with groups as sinister as the Neighborhood Of Evil and the Playboy Club. As their name would indicate, Price and Cairo tried to out muscle the Vampires, managing some truly impressive power moves on the Warrior. But Vampire Warrior fought back with ferocity and when he tagged in Singh, the big Monster just ploughed through Muscle Beach. Rod Price got desperate and grabbed a chair and hit Singh across the back, but the Monster just shook it off. The ref called for the DQ and Muscle Beach bailed from the ring , making a beeline for the locker room. Vic Steamboat vs. Curtis Hughes At Aloha Spectacular, the Demon got a countout victory over the Big Cat, but Hughes was hungry for revenge, and this rematch was signed. Ronnie P. Gossett worked himself up into a state of gibbering apoplexy , screaming at Hughes, making James E. Cornette seem calm by comparison, if you can believe it. Cornette kept relatively calm (for him, that is) , giving Steamboat guidance from ringside. Hughes was clearly going all out, and hammered Steamboat pretty hard. The resilient Steamboat could not be kept down for long, and battled back with intense knife edge chops. The two went back and forth until Hughes clotheslined Steamboat out of the ring. It was at this point that Gossett's constant screaming proved a fatal distraction, as when Hughes went over to try to figure out what exactly he was bellowing about, he failed to notice that Steamboat had caught himself on the top rope. By the time he turned around, Steamboat came off the top rope with a Flying Cross Body Press and the ref counted the one two three. Gossett was livid at the loss, going ballistic on Hughes. Hughes endured it stoically, but when Gossett slapped him in the face, that was too far. Hughes grabbed Gossett by the collar and drew back his fist. Gossett started to panic, and soon Bull Pain rushed out to the ring to back up his manager. Gossett and Pain soon discovered that Hughes now had Steamboat backing him up, and the two sides were at a stand off until Hughes let go of Gossett. Gossett retreated to the back with Pain, while Hughes eventually went to the locker room with Cornette and Steamboat. Golden State Tag Team Title Match : British Steel (Steven Regal & Robbie Brookside) © vs. Art Barr & Eddie Guerrero After a tumultuous start to 1987, Regal and Brookside recovered to win the Golden State Tag Team Titles, fending off a host of challengers to hold onto the belts. The Wild Things duo of Barr and Guerrero have been relentless in dogging their heels, and it has taken everything they had for British Steel to fend them off. In this match, the Wild Things were especially vicious, using every dirty tactic they had in a full court press on the champs. They executed a variety of cheap shots, low blows and double teams to wear down the champs. British Steel showed they were worthy of the name as they weathered out the storm and give a fair accounting of themselves, but it wasn't enough to keep Brookside from being blindsided by a clothesline from Barr that set him up for an over the shoulder neckbreaker from Guerrero. Barr then tagged himself in and hit the Frog Splash while Guerrero held off Regal and that was that. A sad end to what was an incredible title run for British Steel. Pacific Television Title Match : Bret Hart © vs. "Diamond" Timothy Flowers While Bret has had to spend much of his energy fending off Buzz Sawyer, he now had to face the leader of the Diamond Exchange in this Television Title match. Flowers has a lot of experience and has been a consistent threat in both of his runs in the territory, so Bret knew he was in for a fight. These two got down and dirty, slugging it out and knocking each other about the ring. Bret , slowly and surely, was getting the better of Flowers and working his way to getting him in the Sharpshooter when, sure enough, Buzz Sawyer showed up at ringside. He jawed with Bret until the ref ordered him away from the ring. However, while the ref was distracted, Rod Price and Tommy Cairo , of all people, snuck into the ring and levelled Bret with a double clothesline. They quickly ducked out of the ring, and Flowers dragged up Bret from the ring to hit a Piledriver. One, two, three , the ref counted the pinfall. At heartbreaking result, but Flowers was now the TV champ. Pacific Light Heavyweight Title 2/3 Falls Match : Brian Pillman © vs. The Cheetah Kid Over the last year or so, the Light Heavyweight Title has come out of the shadows and become one of the high points of any PCW show. Young Brian Pillman has proved to be a very popular champ, having title defenses against a host of challengers that have gotten raves from the fans. His challenger tonight, the Cheetah Kid, has become a fan favorite in his own right, and anticipation was high for this match. The two men had a long feeling out process to start the match, with an extended technical duel that ended when Pillman caught Cheetah in an Oklahoma Roll to score the first pinfall. For the second fall, the two opened up a bit more, hitting harder on their moves and taking more risks. Pillman ended up running into a dropkick, with Cheetah Kid following up with a boot to the midsection and then a Power Bomb to even up the falls. Pillman clearly was knocked for a loop by the power bomb and, in a show of sportsmanship, Cheetah Kid gave him time to recover before restarting the match. For the third fall, both men went all out and took it to the skies, with a brilliant display or aerial moves against each other. Pillman wound up trying to wrap it up with a Victory Roll out of the corner, but Cheetah Kid blocked it and held Pillman's shoulders to the mat for the three count. Another new champ was crowned and Pillman himself put the belt around Cheetah Kid's waist. An incredible finish for the first night, and we would be back for Night Two.

Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Selland Arena, Fresno, April 16th Brian Christopher vs. Jim Neidhart The always game Christopher was without his manager James E. Cornette, but gave the Anvil quite a battle before Fresno native Neidhart forced him to tap out to the Anvilizer Owen Hart & Pierre Carl Ouellet vs. Bob & Crash Holly The Canadians continued their winning ways with Ouellet pinning Crash following a Cannonball Senton Brian Lee vs. The Vampire Warrior The Bulldozer was able to defeat Vampire Warrior with the Prime Time Slam Doug Furnas vs. Bull Pain Furnas was able to come back from his earlier loss by hitting a belly to back suplex on the always tough Bull Pain for the win. Golden State Tag Team Title Match : British Steel (Steven Regal & Robbie Brookside) © vs. Joe & Dean Malenko These two teams engaged in a tightly contested tag team duel that went to a 30 minute time limit draw. Pacific Light Heavyweight Title Match : Brian Pillman © vs. Jerry Lynn The popular Flyin' Brian closed the evening with a terrific match with young hopeful Jerry Lynn that the champ won with a top rope flying Sunset Flip

Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Cow Palace , San Francisco, on Pacific Super Cards on ESPN / TSN, April 15th The Golden Guns (Biff Wellington & Jerry Lynn) vs. The Destruction Crew Continuing their bullying ways, the Destruction Crew took out Wellington with the Wrecking Ball. Lou Perez vs. Louie Spiccoli In a deft display of submission wrestling, Perez forced Spiccoli to tap out to a cross armbreaker. Billy Jack Haynes vs. Maxx Payne This match of two big bruisers went to Billy Jack when he took down Payne with a slingshot clothesline. Tony St. Clair vs. Gary Albright "Tough" Tony put up a fight , but the big Animal was too much for him, crushing him with a belly to belly suplex that left St. Clair visibly hurt as he left the ring. Scott Hall & Coast 2 Coast (John Tatum & Jack Victory) vs. Buddy Rose & Muscle Beach (Rod Price & Tommy Cairo) With the Sin City Superstars participating in the Crockett Cup, Rose brought in Muscle Beach to take on the California and Pacific Tag Champs. The Playboy Club took advantage of the lingering injuries to Hall and Victory, with Price and Cairo particularly focusing on Hall's damaged leg, setting him up for the Inside Out Backbreaker from Rose for the win. Pacific Heavyweight Title Match : Curt Hennig © vs. Curtis Hughes Hennig was clearly still hurting from his arm being put through Bob Backlund's Cross Face Chicken Wing last week. Hughes capitalized and gave the champ a ferocious battle, coming close to pinning him on several occasions, but Hennig was able to come back and hit the Axe Lariat to successfully defend his title.

Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Oakland Alameda County Arena, Oakland, on ESPN / TSN, April 14th The Southern Boys vs. Billy Garcia & JP Calderon With the Moondog Lonnie Mayne Memorial Tag Team Tournament just a week away, the PCW tag teams are fighting hard to go in with as much winning momentum as they can. Smothers and Armstrongs showed an easy confidence as they easily dispatched Garcia and Calderon, with Smothers hitting a Spinebuster on Calderon. A convincing victory, but the Southern Boys certainly have their work cut out for them if they want to carry this all the way to the tournament finals. Vic Steamboat vs. Makhan Singh With his manager James E. Cornette on the East Coast this weekend guiding the Midnight Express in the Crockett Cup, "The Demon" Vic Steamboat came out alone against the always terrifying "Monster" Makhan Singh. Despite being outweighed by a considerable margin, Steamboat showed no fear, lacing into his chest with knife edge chops. The massive Khan was able to knock Steamboat down with his mass, but Steamboat kept bouncing back up and coming back at him. He rallied but got careless with he hit a running cross body press on Khan. Khan caught him and then crushed him with the Monster Mash (front slam) for the win. A brave effort from Steamboat but he just came up short against the Monster. Dustin Rhodes vs. Chris Candido Another man facing a match with a terrifying opponent is young Dustin Rhodes, who is looking at a matchup with the always vicious Maxx Payne at Vegas Vengeance. Tonight, Rhodes squared off with the former Light Heavyweight champ Candido. While Candido gave Rhodes a fair amount of trouble, Dustin was able to put him down with a Running Bulldog Headlock . You can bet that Rhodes won't let it go to his head, and he is taking his upcoming match with Payne with the seriousness that it deserves. The Lethal Weapons (Steve Blackman & Al Snow) vs. Art Barr & Eddie Guerrero These are two teams on different but highly important paths to Vegas Vengeance , with the Lethal Weapons entering the Moondog Lonnie Mayne Memorial Tag Team Tournament and the Wild Things getting their long awaited rematch for the Golden State Tag Team Titles. The Lethal Weapons did their best to remain cool in the face of the frequent dirty tactics of Barr and Guerrero, but Eddie was able to pin Snow following an over the shoulder neckbreaker. The Wild Things are on the hottest run of their young careers, and British Steel are in for the fight of their lives. Doug Furnas vs. Barry Windham Someone else looking at a rematch at Vegas Vengeance is Barry Windham, who will be gunning for Curt Hennig's Pacific Heavyweight Title in a much anticipated cage match. Windham has been on an absolute tear lately, taking no prisoners in a series of dominant matches. The big Oklahoman Furnas was no pushover and gave Windham all he could handle, but ultimately the Widowmaker came roaring out of nowhere with a massive Western Lariat and score the victory. Windham left no doubt as to who the top contender is. Bret Hart, Owen Hart & Pierre Carl Ouellet vs. "Diamond" Timothy Flowers, Buzz Sawyer & Angel Acevedo The Diamond Exchange and the Canadian team went at it like cats and dogs in a crazy match. Neither team held back, and while Owen got the win with reverse flying cross body press on Acevedo, it was Bret and Buzz who grabbed most of the attention, tearing into each other long after the end of the match. It took all of their teammates to separate the two. With his title defense coming up against Flowers, Bret really doesn't need this kind of distraction.

Bret Hart is the Television champ, but he is also a secondary champ that I would need for a main event for house shows. He was featured in the main event at the Canadian shows, but with the Portland home base, I needed to feature the Portland guys (Rose, Billy Jack) along with a big Heavyweight Title main event. Even in my somewhat accelerated timeline, Cactus Jack in 1988 is not yet what he would be, being the leader of a mid card stable that otherwise consists mostly of second generation wrestlers very early in their careers (along with a promising newcomer less than 4 months from his first match). I felt this would be a good match to bring in the University Of Oregon fans without giving away a match that would be a big draw in a bigger market.

Pacific Coast Wrestling show from McArthur Court, Eugene, April 9th Biff Wellington vs. Gary Albright Albright overwhelmed Wellington, crushing him with a takeover suplex. Brian Lee vs. The Vampire Warrior Still keyed up from his battle with the Undertaker in the six man match a couple of days before, the Bulldozer took it out on the Vampire Warrior, hitting the Prime Time Slam for the win. The Force Of July (The Patriot & The Eagle) vs. Bob & Crash Holly The Force Of July prevailed over the always game Holly Cousins, pinning Crash following a double flying shoulder tackle. Pierre Carl Ouellet vs. Makhan Singh The double tough PCO gave Singh quite a fight, but the Monster won out with the Monster Mash (front slam). Pacific Light Heavyweight Title Match : Brian Pillman © vs. Jerry Lynn Another great Light Heavyweight Title Defense, with Pillman scoring the win over "Dynamic" Jerry Lynn with the Air Pillman Pacific Television Title Match : Bret Hart © vs. Cactus Jack Hart has weathered some hellacious title defenses lately, and he must have known he was in for another one when he faced the leader of the Wild Things. Cactus gave Bret everything he had, and tried to hit the Russian Legsweep, only for Hart to block it by grabbing the ropes, then level Cactus with a huge clothesline to just barely pull out the win.

Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Portland Memorial Coliseum , Portland , on Pacific Super Cards on ESPN / TSN, April 8th Dustin Rhodes vs. Angel Acevedo Rhodes beat the Cuban Assassin with a running Bulldog Headlock. Robbie Brookside vs. Eddie Guerrero A fast paced match that saw a lot of showboating by Guerrero before he pinned Brookside with a Grog Splash. The Southern Boys vs. Joe & Dean Malenko With both teams gearing up for the Moondog Lonnie Mayne Memorial Tag Team Tournament, they had an intensely competitive bout to try and establish going in. These two teams went at it for a long time, until Dean was able to put Tracy Smothers away with a Brainbuster. Steven Regal vs. Art Barr Much like his partner earlier in the evening, Art Barr spent a lot of his time in this match showing off and bragging. This would coast him when he dropkicked Regal out of the ring, and took time to gloat to the crowd. He failed to notice that Regal had caught himself on the top rope, and while Barr's back was turned, Regal snuck up behind him and hit the Regal-Plex for the win. Scott Hall & Coast 2 Coast (John Tatum & Jack Victory) vs. Buddy Rose & The Sin City Superstars (Scotty The Body & Mark Starr) Hall was going into this match with an injured leg, while Victory's vision was compromised by earlier actions from the Sin City Superstars. The Playboy Club shamelessly took advantage of all of this, inflicting considerably more damage before the Superstars took down Victory with a Double DDT. 2/3 Falls Pacific Heavyweight Title Match : Curt Hennig © vs. Bob Backlund 1st Fall : Hennig pinned Backlund following the Axe Lariat 2nd Fall : Backlund went crazy and wrenched Hennig's arm ten ways from Sunday before forcing him to tap out to the Cross Face Chicken Wing 3rd Fall : Although he was clearly in agony, Hennig bravely battle back and hit a top rope missile dropkick to score the deciding pinfall Final Result : Hennig successfully defended his title

Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Portland Sports Arena, Portland , on ESPN / TSN, April 7th Doug Furnas vs. Louie Spiccoli A few weeks ago, Doug Furnas gave Bob Backlund quite a fight before being pinned by the Backlund Bridge. With a rematch coming up at Vegas Vengeance, Furnas is looking to prove himself worthy as he takes on Backlund's newest acolyte, Louie Spiccoli. Spiccoli actually tried to overpower Furnas, but the mighty Oklahoman showed his considerable force as he easily dominated Spiccoli in every test of strength. Furnas dominated the Suicide Blonde before hoisting him up and hitting the Volunteer Slam (running Canadian Backbreaker into the corner) for the win. Furnas is determined to show that he has what it takes to be in the same ring as the former World Champion. Lou Perez vs. Buddy Rose Buddy Rose has seemingly gotten even more smug as he gears up for his California Title match with Scott Hall, if that were even possible. He certainly wasn't giving much credit to young Lou Perez, the junior member of the Brigade. Perez has faced an uphill struggle to establish himself, but certainly has had the ladies in the audience on his side. Although Rose was not initially taking this match seriously, Perez was all business as he took on the Playboy. Rose seemed to be taken aback at how aggressive Perez was, who managed several takedowns and got Rose in several painful armlocks and leglocks. It took a lot of effort each time for Rose to get to the ropes and force the break, but Rose eventually worked that to his advantage, grabbing a fistful of trunks and putting his feet on the ropes for leverage to steal the win. He managed to get the victory, but learned a lesson not to take the Ladies Man lightly. The Midnight Express & Vic Steamboat vs. The Destruction Crew & Bull Pain The war between Camp Cornette and Ronnie P. Gossett's crew rages on with this six man tag match. The ref struggled to no avail to maintain some sense of order to the match, with both sides ganging up in the ring at a moment's notice. It eventually broke down to all six men brawling in the ring, with the Destruction Crew clobbering Steamboat from behind with a double clothesline to the back of the head to set him up to be pinned by Bull Pain. This is a feud that shows no sign of stopping any time soon. Submission Title Match : Dan Severn © vs. Dean Malenko Severn is staring down the barrel of facing perhaps his most fearsome challenger yet, "The Animal" Gary Albright. Before he will face Albright, though, he had to overcome the Animal's comrade, Dean Malenko. The Iceman provided a considerable challenge, and it took all of Severn's experience and skill to find his way out of some of the traps Dean used to ensnare him. The champion was finally able to sink in the Body Scissors Sleeper to force Dean to tap out, but Malenko certainly didn't go down without a fight. You can bet the Gary Albright was watching this match backstage with keen interest. Billy Jack Haynes vs. Curtis Hughes Throughout Billy Jack's time in Pacific Coast Wrestling, he has been one of the most popular competitors, as well as a top contender for any title he chooses. As such, he provides a tempting target for anyone looking to prove themselves. Curtis "The Cat" Hughes has been a fearsome combatant in his short time in PCW, but was looking to push himself further up the ranks by taking down one of the big dogs. These two went at it fist and fire, with Haynes unable to get Hughes up in the Shoulder Breaker while being able to fight out of a couple of attempts at the Cat's Claw. He was able to bring the Big Cat down with a flying shoulder tackle, but it clearly took a lot to pull out this victory.

Will be looking to shift Buzz Sawyer, John Tatum and Jack Victory around the end of April.

With just a few weeks to go before PCW's next Mega Show, we are now able to announce the full card. There are a lot of big matches coming, including the annual Moondog Lonnie Mayne Memorial Tag Team Tournament. The team that wins the tournament wins a $500000 prize, so you can bet that the competition this year will be more intense than ever. Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Kelowna Memorial Arena, Kelowna, April 2nd Dustin Rhodes vs. Tommy Cairo Dustin was ultimately able to prevail over one half of Muscle Beach, taking him down with a running Bulldog Headlock for the win. Tony St. Clair & British Steel (Steven Regal & Robbie Brookside) vs. Jim Neidhart & The Suicide Blondes (Chris Candido & Louie Spiccoli) This came down to several nasty exchanges between St. Clair and Neidhart, with British Steel and the Suicide Blondes being unfortunate to get caught between them. Neidhart pinned Brookside following a running powerslam, but you know he wants to get St. Clair in the ring again one on one. Pierre Carl Ouellet vs. Curtis Hughes Ouellet put in a yeomanlike effort but ultimately was caught in the Cat's Claw (modified side slam onto the knee) to give the duke to Hughes. The Force Of July (The Patriot & The Eagle) vs. Art Barr & Eddie Guerrero The FOJ dominated much of the match but lost by DQ when Barr tricked the Eagle into taking a swing at him, only to duck and the masked man hit the ref instead. Pacific Light Heavyweight Title Match : Brian Pillman © vs. Joe Malenko Another long and tough title defense for Pillman, where he was able to block a German Suplex attempt by Malenko, then reverse it into a rollup for the victory.

Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Pacific Coliseum, Vancouver on Pacific Super Cards on ESPN / TSN , April 1st Dan Severn & The Golden Guns (Jerry Lynn & Biff Wellington) vs. Gary Albright, Joe Malenko & Dean Malenko The Army did their best to hold off the Pride, but the Animal Albright hit a crushing takeover suplex on Lynn to get the win. The Lethal Weapons (Steve Blackman & Al Snow) vs. The Suicide Blondes (Chris Candido & Louie Spiccoli) After their Army comrades earlier defeat, the Lethal Weapons were determined to get their group back on the winning side, and despite a determined effort from the Blondes, Blackman caught Candido flat footed with the running Bicycle Kick to pull out the victory. Brian Christopher vs. "Diamond" Timothy Flowers The scrappy young Christopher gave Flowers an incredible fight until Flowers was finally able to put him down with the Piledriver. Brian Lee vs. Angel Acevedo Keyed up from his match the day before, the Bulldozer ran over the Cuban Assassin, pinning Acevedo following the Prime Time Slam. Pacific Tag Team Title Match : Coast 2 Coast (John Tatum & Jack Victory) © vs. The Sin City Superstars (Scotty The Body & Mark Starr) With Jack Victory still suffering from impaired vision after the actions of the Superstars, Scotty and Starr relentlessly double teamed him, ultimately losing by DQ when Scotty knocked down the referee when he tried to get some semblance of order in the match. Pacific Television Title Match : Bret Hart © vs. Bull Pain After the battering he took last week in the Dog Collar Match with Buzz Sawyer, Bret struggled to hold back the attack of Bull Pain, but finally was able to take him down with a running clothesline before forcing him to tap out to the Sharpshooter.

Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Victoria Memorial Arena, Victoria, on ESPN / TSN, March 31st The Cheetah Kid vs. Sekou Bunch The Cheetah Kid has been in PCW for a relatively short period of time, but has made the most of it, winning a spot in the heart of the fans an a shot at the Light Heavyweight Title at Vegas Vengeance. Tonight , he showed why he has been such a hot contender, easily dominating Bunch with his high flying moves before hitting the Power Bomb for the win. A very strong showing, but it remains to be seen if this will be enough to take the title from Brian Pillman. Barry Windham vs. Vic Steamboat Another man heading towards a title shot at Vegas Vengeance is "The Widowmaker" Barry Windham. Ever since joining up with the Neighborhood Of Evil, he has been waging a campaign of terror to try to get a chance to regain the Pacific Heavyweight Title, now held by his former friend Curt Hennig. The Demon was certainly no pushover and was not going to give up to Windham without a fight. But in the end, the man from Sweetwater was too much to overcome, pinning Steamboat following a Superplex. You can bet Curt Hennig has to be watching this match with concern. Brian Lee, Dustin Rhodes & Lou Perez vs. The Undertaker & The Hollywood Vampires (The Vampire Warrior & Makhan Singh) Speaking of the feud between the Brigade and The Neighborhood Of Evil, another of the biggest players in the NOE has been the Undertaker. The former Texas Red has not been pinned since taking on his new name, and despite their best efforts, one by one, the members of the Brigade have gone down in defeat. While Undertaker and the Vampires focused much of their attention on Perez, the junior member of the Brigade, it was Brian Lee who was refusing to knuckle under to the NOE, throwing down with Undertaker and giving back some heavy receipts to the Vampires. While Undertaker wound up getting the win after executing the Tombstone on Perez, Lee still wanted to keep going after him after the match. Looks like the two cousins are headed for a showdown sooner or later. Owen Hart vs. Cyrus The Virus A heady feud has blown up between the Wild Things and the unusual pairing of Owen Hart and Pierre Carl Ouellet. While their partners were banned from ringside, but these two still went at it with a white hot fury. The unconventional stylings of Cyrus seemed to be confuse Owen at first, and The Virus was able to take Owen down on a number of occasions. But Owen drew on his family's training and rallied, eventually catching Cyrus coming off the ropes with a belly to belly suplex for the win. A well earned victory, but you can bet that this has settled nothing. California Title Match : Scott Hall © vs. Rod Price Scott Hall suffered a leg injury caused by the dastardly actions of the Playboy Club , but has bravely continued to defend his California Title. Price's Muscle Beach partner Tommy Cairo was not at ringside, but Buddy Rose, the leader of the Playboy Club, was there giving "encouragement". Price targeted Hall's injured leg, attacking it mercilessly while hitting several nasty low blows and cheap shots. Hall gutted it out and hit a standing clothesline that levelled Price to successfully defend his title, but it was clearly at quite a cost. How much longer can Hall do this before something gives?

We are just a few weeks away from the next PCW Megashow, Vegas Vengeance, but Commissioner Dutch Savage has just announced the main events for both nights. Pacific Coast Wrestling Show from the UCSB Event Center, Santa Barbara, March 26th Owen Hart, Pierre Carl Ouellet & The Golden Guns (Jerry Lynn & Biff Wellington) vs. The Wild Things (Cactus Jack, Cyrus The Virus, Art Barr & Eddie Guerrero) This was a fast paced and exciting match that saw Ouellet come back from his defeat the night before and hit Le Cannonball (senton bomb) on Cyrus to score the victory Lou Perez vs. Jim Neidhart Perez was still feeling the effects of what Backlund did to him a couple of nights before, and the Anvil took advantage of that, forcing him to submit to the Anvilizer (modified Cobra Clutch) Vic Steamboat vs. Bull Pain "The Demon" came back from an earlier ambush by Pain to get the win with a Flying Cross Body Press Doug Furnas vs. Barry Windham Furnas put up quite a fight, but the Widow Maker would not be denied, hitting a Western Lariat to score the pinfall Golden State Tag Team Title Match : British Steel (Steven Regal & Robbie Brookside) © vs. Muscle Beach (Rod Price & Tommy Cairo) The young Englishmen put up a concerted defense against the powerful new team and wound up winning, but only by DQ, when they were attacked by Art Barr and Eddie Guerrero, who hit a double over the shoulder neckbreaker on Brookside before leaving the ring. Pacific Light Heavyweight Title Match : Brian Pillman © vs. Dean Malenko These two put on a Light Heavyweight classic that saw Pillman successfully defend his title by forcing Dean to tap out to a cross armbreaker.

Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the LA Sports Arena, Los Angeles, on Pacific Super Cards on ESPN / TSN, March 25th The Midnight Express vs. The Destruction Crew Another chaotic match between the two that went to a double DQ when the sledgehammers and Cornette's tennis racquet came into play. Pierre Carl Ouellet vs. Maxx Payne These two tough men had a hard hitting bout where , after a long battle, Payne was finally able to put Ouellet down with the Payne Threshold (front layout suplex). The Lethal Weapons (Steve Blackman & Al Snow) vs. The Hollywood Vampires (The Vampire Warrior & Makhan Singh) The Lethal Weapons have mostly had success since teaming up, but found it hard to make a dent in the big "Monster" Makhan Singh, who pinned Blackman with the Monster Mash (front slam) Brian Lee vs. Joe Malenko While Malenko was able to get Lee in a number of predicaments, the Bulldozer was able to get the better of Joe with the Prime Time Slam. Billy Jack Haynes & Coast 2 Coast (John Tatum & Jack Victory) vs. Buddy Rose & The Sin City Superstars (Scotty The Body & Mark Starr) The Playboy Club came out seeming to be taking this match lightly, primping and preening themselves before the match, with Scotty ostentatiously adjusting his hair with a can of hairspray. Haynes and Coast 2 Coast were all business in taking it to the Club. It looked like Victory would finish off Scotty with the Victory Plex when Starr used the can of hairspray to spray something into Victory's eyes. With Victory unable to see, Scotty executed a Russian Legsweep to steal the victory for the Club. The Sin City Superstars have certainly been learning well under the tutelage of the Playboy. Pacific Television Title Dog Collar Match : Bret Hart © vs. Buzz Sawyer Hoo boy. This was a bloody , brutal brawl that left both men busted open and exhausted. Hart was able to wrap the chain around Sawyer's neck and hit a running bulldog headlock to finally get the victory over the Mad Dog.

Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Olympic Auditorium , Los Angeles , on ESPN / TSN, March 24th The Golden Guns (Jerry Lynn & Biff Wellington) vs. Dan Barry & Bobby Mason Last week, the new model Golden Guns made their debut and impressed many but still came out on the short end. This week, they continued to show their determination as they took on Barry and Mason. Wellington showed poise and confidence as he guided the team, and Lynn proved why he is one of the hottest young talents in PCW. Wellington dropkicked Mason out of the ring while Lynn hit a package piledriver on Barry to get a win to help the new Golden Guns established. John Tatum vs. Mark Starr Coast 2 Coast have had a very strong run as Pacific Tag Team Champions, seeing off a host of challengers. But Buddy Rose has been lobbying hard to get his Playboy Club cronies the Sin City Superstars a title shot. John Tatum was facing the newest member of the Superstars in a singles match, and, while Rose was at ringside to cheer Starr on, the ref let it be known that he would be keeping a close eye on the Playboy in case of any shenanigans. While the Superstars up to this point had relied upon a lot of razzle dazzle and misdirection, Starr brought a strong technical edge to this match, and Tatum had to fight back hard to wear him down. It looked like Tatum might pull it out when he went for a Superkick, but Starr dodged it and snuck in a nasty low blow kick just out of sight of the ref. He followed up with a vicious legsweep to take him down and trap him in an ankle lock until Tatum was forced to tap out. Rose was looking like a proud papa as he led Starr from the ring, and Coast 2 Coast are going to have to start taking the Sin City Superstars seriously as contenders. Brian Christopher vs. Bob Holly Ever since the start of his career, Brian Christopher has had faith in himself, but ever since Jim Cornette took him under his wing, his confidence has gone to the next level. This was on display in his match with a similarly brash newcomer, Bob Holly. Christopher and Holly had a furious match where Christopher was able to put Holly away with the Chris Cross (full nelson facebuster). Jim Cornette knows potential when he sees it, and he is going to do everything he can to guide young Christopher to the top. Tony St. Clair vs. Jim Neidhart Seemingly out of nowhere, one of the hottest feuds in PCW has erupted between the Anvil and Tough Tony. This was certainly hard for the ref to control, with neither man holding back to take the other one now. Things went from bad to worse when a wild elbow from Neidhart gave St. Clair a bloody nose. This infuriated St. Clair to the extend that he just started unloading on Neidhart with brutal forearm shots, to which the Anvil responded in kind. The ref tried to interpose himself between the two, only to be shoved hard to the mat for his efforts. He called for the double DQ but that didn't stop the pair from laying into each other, and it took a full complement of PCW security . Just what will it take to settle the feud between these two? The Force Of July (The Patriot & The Eagle) vs. Nick Stanbury & Austin Carty The masked duo of the Patriot and the Eagle have rapidly become big favorites of the fans of Pacific Coast Wrestling. With their colourful gear and high impact style, they have rocketed up the rankings in the highly competitive Tag Team division. Stansbury and Carty proved to be no obstacle to the team, with the Eagle easily pinning Stanbury with a German Suplex. It shouldn't be long now before the Championship Committee take notice of the Force Of July. Curt Hennig, Lou Perez & Dustin Rhodes vs. Bob Backlund & The Suicide Blondes (Chris Candido & Louie Spiccoli) Last week in San Francisco, Mr. Bob Backlund went the distance with Pacific Heavyweight Champion Curt Hennig, and tonight he seemed to be angling for a rematch. We went at it with all of the members of the Brigade, but seemed to be trying to make an example of Lou Perez. He battered and stretched the Ladies Man until he forced him to tap out to the Cross Face Chicken Wing. Looks like he has staked his claim at another shot at the title.

Fair point. I face a couple of challenges with my current roster : 1) I have a fairly young and new roster that I am working to get over so am giving them a lot of spaces on the shows to get experience, 2) the traditional focus of the Pacific territory was "Playboy" Buddy Rose. While Rose is one of my favorite wrestlers, at this point in his career he is physically on the decline towards the Blowaway Diet Buddy Rose, and I have to work around that and find ways to keep him relevant. That said, I do think I have some consistent threads to keep the fizz going in the territory, such as the tag division or Light Heavyweight Title matches.

Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Selland Arena, Fresno, March 19th Robbie Brookside vs. Jim Neidhart Neidhart overpowered young Brookside and pinned him following a running powerslam The Lethal Weapons (Steve Blackman & Al Snow) vs. Joe & Dean Malenko Another heated tag team battle between these two duos where Snow was able to pin Dean with the Snow Bomb Brian Christopher vs. Chris Candido Jim Cornette's young charge managed something of an upset when he was able to defeat the former Light Heavyweight champion Candido with the Chris Cross (full nelson face slam) The Southern Boys vs. Art Barr & Eddie Guerrero A long and intense match that went to the Wild Things that ended when Barr blindsided Armstrong to set him up for a swinging neckbreaker from Guerrero California Title Match : Scott Hall © vs. Maxx Payne Hall came in with his leg still bandaged from last week and Payne did everything he could to target it. Hall was able to gut it out and bring the big man down with a running Bulldog headlock Bret & Owen Hart vs. Timothy Flowers & Buzz Sawyer The hatred ran deep in this match and it was all the ref could do to try to maintain some semblance of order. Buzz took advantage of a ref distraction to clobber Bret in the back of the head, allowing Flowers to hit the Piledriver and score the pinfall.

Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Cow Palace , San Francisco, on Pacific Super Cards on ESPN / TSN, March 18th Steven Regal vs. Angel Acevedo Young Regal pulled out an impressive win over the veteran Acevedo with the Regal Roll Lou Perez vs. Buddy Rose Perez put in a game effort but a wild elbow caught him in the eye to set him up for the Inside Out Backbreaker to give the win to the Playboy Billy Jack Haynes vs. Curtis Hughes Fresh off his grueling battle with Bret Hart, Hughes went to the limit with Billy Jack before going down to a flying shoulder tackle Pierre Carl Ouellet vs. Bull Pain A ferocious battle between two double tough competitors where Bull Pain was ultimately able to hit the Hangman's Drop (two handed chokeslam) for the win Pacific Tag Team Title Match : Coast 2 Coast (John Tatum & Jack Victory) © vs. Bob & Crash Holly The Holly Cousins gave the champions all they could handle in a fast paced tag match but the champions prevailed with Tatum hitting a Superkick on Crash Pacific Heavyweight Title Match : Curt Hennig © vs. Bob Backlund The former World, California and Submission champion gave Hennig one of the toughest battles of his championship reign , going to a 30 minute time limit draw

Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Oakland Alameda County Arena, Oakland, on ESPN / TSN, March 17th The Golden Guns (Jerry Lynn & Biff Wellington) vs. The Sin City Superstars (Scotty The Body & Mark Starr) The PCW tag division is at its most dynamic, and that is reflected in the new looks of two of the up and coming tag teams. The new look Golden Guns featured the return of Biff Wellington, who had not been seen in PCW in 2 years. Meanwhile, the Sin City Superstars brought in young British wrestler Mark Starr to join Scotty The Body. Both teams were clearly looking to up their game and move further up the ranks, with Wellington meshing well with Lynn on several double team moves, while Starr brought additional technical polish to the Superstars' attack. It was Starr who was able to score the pinfall on Lynn with the Starrburst Suplex (slingshot suplex) but both teams had to work hard for it. Tony St. Clair vs. Angel Acevedo While "Tough" Tony St. Clair clearly has his mind on Jim Neidhart, he certainly had enough to keep himself busy with the Cuban Assassin. Acevedo gave as good as he got in every exchange with St. Clair, deftly ducking the spinning forearm smash and very nearly catching him in the DDT. St. Clair dug in and was able to wear down Acevedo enough to hit the Floating Butterfly Suplex. It took a lot out of him, but St. Clair came out on top. The Hollywood Vampires (The Vampire Warrior & Makhan Singh) vs. Jim Lynch & Blake Towsley Another team sporting a new look is Paul Bearer's duo of the Vampire Warriors, now bolstered by "The Monster" Makhan Singh. The big Monster had an immediate impact, bowling over both Lynch and Towsley while Bearer and Vampire Warrior laughed maniacally . He eventually crushed Lynch with the Monster Mash (front slam) for an incredibly dominant win. The Neighborhood of Evil have gotten even scarier, and that has to be bad news for PCW. Owen Hart & Pierre Carl Ouellet vs. The Suicide Blondes (Chris Candido & Louie Spiccoli) The youngest Hart brother and the tough as nails French Canadian have formed an unusual but solid friendship. They proved that they meshed well in spite of their seeming differences, with Hart's scientific prowess being balanced by PCO's rough and tumble brawling. Ouellet put Spiccoli down for the count with a package piledriver as Owen held off Candido. Cactus Jack and Cyrus The Virus may well come to regret being responsible for forging this impressive duo for their opposition. Muscle Beach (Rod Price & Tommy Cairo) vs. Brian Corridan & Brandon Bellinger With all the intense competition in the PCW tag team division, the latest duo to join the ranks were certainly something else. Coming to the ring to the sounds of David Lee Roth's version of "California Girls" , Price and Cairo flexed and posed in the ring with an overwhelming air of smugness. This annoyed most of the fans, but they did get the attention of a fair number of the young female fans. The two muscular stars swiftly overwhelmed Corridan and Bellinger, tossing them about with power moves before finishing them off with the Beach Break (stuff Power Bomb). They then went back to flexing and posing until "California Girls" was cut off and replaced with "Smooth Operator". This, of course, is the cue for the entrance of "Playboy" Buddy Rose, accompanied by Scotty The Body and Mark Starr. Rose : Gentlemen, gentlemen, gentlemen! This is your lucky day! (Scotty and Starr are mouthing the words behind him, then silently snickering behind his back) The Harris Boys , well, they just weren't really Playboy Club material. Lacking in sophistication. But you men are clearly cut from a different bolt of cloth. You know how to take care of yourselves, and more importantly, you know how to take care of business. A place in the Playboy Club is all yours for the taking! Price and Cairo look at each other, shrug, then nod to Rose, joining him and the Sin City Superstars as they leave the ring. Pacific Television Title Match : Bret Hart © vs. Curtis Hughes Bret Hart has been making a name for himself as a fighting champion, ducking no one in his title defenses. He was facing a considerable test of his abilities with the Big Cat. Hughes was clearly out to make the most of his title shots, delivering some heavy blows as he went all out against the champ. Hart fired back in kind, but found it tough to bring down Mr. Hughes. Little by little, he was able to chip away at the Big Cat, eventually bringing him down with a second rope Bulldog and just barely holding his shoulders down for the three count. Hart had pulled out his most impressive title defense yet.
