KrisZ
Terry Gordy was the superworker, Michael Hayes was the supertalker, but it was Roberts who was the man who made this act complete as he could both work and talk. We don't have a lot of Buddy pre-Freebirds other than Dale Valentine footage from Southwest in 78-79 but when he joined the Birds he was the guy who could get his ass kicked by the faces while pissing them off in tag matches and then in the rare singles matches which is what I enjoyed the most, he was able to show off his unorthodox working style. Roberts was kinda like Ronnie Garvin in that he used his whole body as a weapon and would do things that you would never see in matches which wasn't movewise but strikewise. Roberts doesn't get enough love with the mainstream online wrestling community as he was always overshadowed by his "brothers" but a few of us on here recognize how damn good he was and I hope to shine some light on Buddy Jack. goodhelmet
Terry Gordy was the superworker, Michael Hayes was the supertalker I am disappointed in you Kris. You watched the same fucking Texas set I did and you are still carrying on with this talking point? Hayes could work as well as anyone else in Texas at the time and was in better matches than Roberts it isn't even close. It might not even be a surprise that Roberts best match was against Hayes during their feud.
KrisZ
No I didn't mean that to slight Hayes as I love him as a worker but Gordy was the workhorse of the team. Hayes held his own but he wasn't Gordy.
shoe
One thing that Roberts seemed good at was how many times he was pinned, or made to look like an ass was he was able to keep his heat.
