Smack2k
I dont know, with it being at the Dome, having that rematch that night would have been a great idea....HUGE crowd, getting the ratings win with the match and get your storylines ready to go for the next 4-5 months...I dont know where Goldberg gets the belt back by beating Nash, as WCW PPV's during the spring and summer dont have that "THIS IS THE PPV" type show to put it on (Bash at the Beach maybe to coincide with 3 years of the NWO would work I guess) So the Dome thing I think would have been great with the match and the follow up, and maybe the ratings go from there..... Ahhh, but egos and pride and worrying about one's "spot" and not wanting to "loss" in a predetermined sport stopped that...thanks 1999 WCW!! iamthedoctor
I suppose you could always have Goldberg get the belt back at Starrcade 99 or would that be far too long of a wait to happen? Either that or I could see a major PPV during the Summer period being held at the Georgia Dome where Bill gets his rematch. I didnt have a problem with the Starrcade match but the Spring Stampede one bored the shit out of me. No idea why. It should have been something I looked forward to but for some reason the interest just wasent there.
Cobra Commander
seeing as WCW had a newly-minted face authority figure during Nash/Hogan, they could have had the belt stripped off of Hogan and ran a tournament thru Superbrawl where the NWO runs interference to get Hogan into a title match while keeping Goldberg out of the title match. Like have these 16 in the tournament: Nash. Hogan, Hall, Steiner, Luger from the NWO. Bigelow, Hennig, Jericho as other heels. Goldberg, DDP, Mysterio, Konnan, Benoit, Malenko, Wrath, and Booker for the faces (that were around in February 1999). So.. Benoit over Bigelow (DQ) Nash over Mysterio Hall over Malenko Goldberg over Hennig Hogan over Wrath Luger DDQ Konnan Steiner over Booker DDP over Jericho Nash over Benoit Goldberg over Hall Hogan bye DDP over Steiner at Superbrawl: Nash DCO Goldberg Hogan over DDP to win the title so, same destination, different path, cuts out the ballcutting of Flair regarding Hogan/Nash. Goldberg vs Nash at Uncensored. Goldberg moving towards a April/May title shot. Flair vs Hogan in the mean time since Flair got outmaneuvered to keeping the belt off of Hogan. Goldberg/DDP for the summer. WCW in January thru April killed them a lot for the last 2 years.
