The first live studio episode of the WWA's as yet unnamed TV show on July 2 is shaping up to be one of the most historic nights in WWA history. No matches have been officially announced as of yet, but the rumor mill is flying.

The WWA board of directors has been in meetings as of late to determine the best way to proceed with handling all the new talent coming in. A new commissioner for the WWA will be announced at the start of the telecast, and he better know what he's getting himself into.

We are also hearing that a wrestler who is not currently under a WWA contract will be at the WTTV studios on July 2 and has requested some TV time. Who is this mystery wrestler, and why does he want time on our television program? You'll have to tune in on July 2 to find out!

We just received confirmation that the 8th wonder of the world, ANDRE THE GIANT, will be making sporadic appearances for the WWA. His first appearance will take place on August 20 as part of the WWA's first major show at the International Ampitheatre in Chicago, Illinois.

We have just received word from WTTV in Indianapolis that, to celebrate the return of the WWA to the station, the debut broadcast on July 2 will be a special 90-minute edition. The WWA is excited about this decision, as this will allow us plenty of time to not only provide you with the tremendous wrestling action you've come to expect, but also allow us a proper opportunity to introduce some of the new faces you'll be seeing.

  • 2 weeks later...

As many of you know by now, Bobby Colt upset Dick the Bruiser on June 25 in Indianapolis to win the WWA World Heavyweight Championship. Due to the controversial nature of that match, the WWA Board of Directors has ruled that on the July 9 edition of WWA Superstar Challenge live from the WTTV Studios in Indianapolis, Bruiser will receive one...and ONLY one...chance to regain the championship.

Due to the importance of this match, WTTV has agreed to allow this episode to be extended to 90 minutes as well.

We expect to hear from both champion and challenger this coming Saturday when the WWA returns to WTTV with their newest flagship program.

The WWA is pleased to announce that effective July 1 it will become the newest member of the National Wrestling Alliance and will recognize Harley Race as the World Heavyweight Champion.

What does this mean for Bobby Colt's claim as World Heavyweight Champion? We have been told the match scheduled for July 9 between Colt and Dick the Bruiser will happen, but traditionally NWA promotions are not allowed to sanction their own World Titles. We will have more information as we receive it.

We have also been given word as to the main event for the debut of the WWA's Superstar Challenge TV show on July 2. Two newcomers to WWA will make their debuts as Larry Zbyszko will take on Mike Rotundo.
