Deadspin article on quack NFL doctors w/ WWE connection

So there's a pretty big article here with the gist being that the NFL's head doctor in regards to concussions is also the guy who led the charge denying the evidence about CTE.

What kind of flies under the radar is that Joseph Maroon, who besides being the go to WWE doctor is also the Pittsburgh Steelers' doctor, is also another of the main evidence deniers who are getting the side eye from people who doubt the NFL is taking the issue as anything more than PR spin.

So knowing how WWE is so lawsuit leery (and rightfully so), it seems kind of odd they'd be attached to a doctor who was on the wrong side of history in regards to CTE.

Key reader comment from the article here that is almost certainly about Dr. Maroon*:

One of my friends in the Pittsburgh area had a concussion due to a workout accident. They went to ‘the guy that all the pro athletes go to, who has the fantastic success rate for treatment.’

According to the friend, the reason his success rate is so high is that the concussion physician excludes failures under the reasoning that, if the treatment regimen didn’t succeed after a dozen (or so) treatments [the limits of their insurance], then they weren’t following his protocols sufficiently, and kicked them out of the program. Clearly, all concussions should heal after a month, right?

Guy in charge of the WWE concussion protocol, folks.

*on the off chance that this wasn't about Dr. Maroon, most of the local beat writers that cover sports here say pretty much the same thing about him as well.

He's the one who won't clear Danielson because he's passed every test except for the WWE one. Yet he goes on record saying CTE is overblown and kids get hurt more on the playground than in football (which is true only in terms of frequency, but no where near the same severity).

"Concussions should heal in a month" was the same thinking that cost Dolph Ziggler a world title push, isn't it?

What exactly is Maroon's concussion treatment?
