One Fall, 30 Minute Time Limit

AWA Souhern Tag Team Title Match

Rock 'n' Roll Express © Vs The Brotherhood Of Poland

These two teams had clashed before, and while the Express had gotten the victory, the Brotherhood were determined not to let it happen again. The brought their own array of double team moves, using their size and strength to try to break down Ricky and Robert. The Express fought back, doing their best to duck and move and wear down the much larger team. It seemed, though, like it was all over when Ivan Putski got Robert in a Full Nelson. Precious came in the ring to spray Robert in the eyes with her aerosol can of air freshener, but he escaped at the last second and she got Putski in the eyes instead. Robert tossed Precious from the ring and he and Ricky hit the Double Dropkick on Putski to get the pin. Both members of the Brotherhood were clearly upset with Precious after the match but she managed to get them calmed down.

One Fall, 15 Minute Limit Match

Tito Santana Vs Manny Fernandez

Col. Buck Robley had brought in the Ragin’ Bull to get revenge on Tito Santana, and he clearly had taken his job seriously, opening up a furious assault on the popular Mexican superstar. The scrappy Santana was not overwhelmed by Fernandez and fought back but the match was always on the verge of going completely out of control. The end came when the two exhausted men both tried to hit their own variations of the flying forearm on each other and instead collided in the middle of the ring. It seemed like they had both knocked each other out, but Santana was just barely able to recover enough to weakly drape his arm over Fernandez chest and get the three count. Once he had managed to make it to his feet and have his hand raised in victory, Santana was attacked from behind by Fernandez and the two of them brawled back to the locker room.

One Fall, 30 Minute Time Limit Match

AWA World Tag Team Championship Match

The Road Warriors © Vs A Mystery Team

The Road Warriors had been having a lot of trouble with mystery opponents of late, and tonight was no exception as their challengers were revealed to be none other than “Crusher” Jerry Blackwell and the One Man Gang. The Warriors had faced some big opponents before, but now they were facing a team that outmassed even them, and seemed at a loss as to what to do. The Sheikh’s men were immune to any attempt to slam them, and for all that they hit them with a multitude of tackles and clotheslines, Blackwell and Gang refused to go won. The Warriors switched tactics and looked to wear down their much bigger opposition with headlocks and arm wringers, accented with massive haymakers to the head. The Sheikh’s men responded by double teaming the Warriors, using the combined bulk of their considerable size to drop down on the muscular champions. The ref tried to restore order and get one of the two big men out of the ring, but they ignored him , and when he tried to stop them from doing a double avalanche on Animal in the corner, they just did it anyways, and the ref was crushed between the two teams. Blackwell and Gang continued to beat down on the Road Warriors, and when the ref finally recovered, he called for the DQ on the Sheikh’s men. The Warriors retained their belts, but at what cost?

One Fall, 30 Minute Time Limit Match

Southeastern Tag Team Championship Match

The Heavenly Bodies © Vs The Fabulous Ones

The Fabulous Ones, Stan Lane and Steve Keirn make their way to the ring to massive fanfare, clearly one of the most popular teams here in the AWA. Southeastern Tag Team Champions The Heavenly Bodies, Bobby Eaton and Tom Pritchard joined as ever by manager Jim Cornette and his personal bodyguard Big Bubba Lynch. The odds are clearly stacked against The Fabulous Ones with all of the Heavenly Bodies extras. Stanley Blackburn makes his way to the ring and orders Big Bubba Lynch to the back, and tells the fans over the house mic that if Big Bubba Lynch is to get involved the Heavenly Bodies will be stripped of the titles. This is the third match in the series between the two teams. The match starts off with a fantastic pace until the Bodies are able to isolate Steve Keirn from his partner. Finally after several minutes of isolation and brutal beat down, the Bodies mistime a double team attack on Keirn and he manages to make the hot tag to his partner Stan Lane, karate kicks, chops and back body drops from Lane all over the place, including one for Cornette when he tries to get involved from the apron. Just when it looks like the Fabulous Ones have the match in the bag, two individuals make their way to the ring and attack the Fabulous Ones causing the referee to throw the match out. The team turn out to be the Hollywood Blondes, Ken Timbs and Eric Embry. The Blondes continue their attack on the Fabs as the Bodies with their tails between their legs carry Cornette to the back with their titles.

One Fall, 30 Minute Time Limit Match

Jerry "The King" Lawler Vs Lord Humongous

Lord Humongous makes his way to the ring followed closely by his manager Lord Humperdink, The House of Humperdink is putting together quite a stable as of late in Memphis, but this is surely Humongous's biggest test in Jerry "The King" Lawler. The match starts of with Lawler trying to figure how strong this 6'8 monster is, it doesnt take long for "The King" to realise this giant of a man isnt going to be easy to take down. Lord Humongous takes control of the match within a few minutes and outs a beating to Lawler with aot of Ax Smashes and big boots, finally the King cant fight no more and Humongous gets the victory after 10 minutes.

One Fall, 60 Minute Time Limit Match

National Heavyweight Championship Match

Robert Fuller © Vs "Wildfire" Tommy Rich

“Wildfire” Tommy Rich makes his way to the ring, but this is a different type of “Wildfire” he looks more focused than he’s ever looked, eyes set on the goal, the goal being the National Heavyweight Title he’s been chasing for nearly a year, we have to bear in mind, the last big match Rich had in this building was back in the spring against Buzz Sawyer where he lost in what people are calling the Last Battle Of Atlanta. National Heavyweight Champion Robert Fuller with his brother and manager Ron Fuller make their way to the ring. Tommy who hasn’t taken his eyes of Fuller since he made his way into the ring. The bell rings and “Wildfire” lives up to his name and charges straight towards Fuller and hits a Thesz Press and covers Fuller for a 2 count, within seconds the match was nearly over. Fuller slides to the outside and grabs his belt and goes to leave the match. Rich storms around the ring trying to get his hands on Fuller, garbs him half way down the aisle. Rich is in total control of the match until Rich is tripped behind the referees back from Ron Fuller, Robert is now in control. The end comes when Ron Fuller distracts the referee and Robert lays a chair on the mat and sets Rich up for a Piledriver, only for Rich to find the energy to back body drop Fuller on the chair, charges Ron Fuller and knock him of the apron. Rich then turns while running the ropes to hit a Thesz Press on Robert Fuller as he gets up from the back body drop to the chair, back onto the chair and covers him for the 3 count and winning the National Heavyweight Title at 35 minutes. The Omni goes mental, and a lot of fans storm the apron to celebrate, one blonde lady manages to get pass the security and hugs Rich in the centre of the ring, until the event staff remove her. Finally Tommy Rich’s quest comes to an end, he’s National Heavyweight Champion.

One Fall, 60 Minute Time Limit Match

AWA World Heavyweight Championship Match

Hulk Hogan © Vs Roddy Piper

Hogan had faced a variety of challengers in his time as World Champion, but “Rowdy” Roddy would provide him with one of his most perplexing challenges yet. Instead of meeting him face on, like most of his recent opponents had, the devious Scotsman opted instead for hit and run tactics, frustrating the Hulkster to no end when he tried to get his hands on him. Every time it seemed like Hogan had Piper dead to rights, Piper would escaped with an eye poke or a low blow or misdirection of the referee. Finally, when Piper had dodged to the outside one too many times, Hogan had had enough and went after him. The two slugged it out in the ringside area and Hogan then managed to just catch Piper a glancing blow with an Axe Bomber that sent him to the ground. Hogan tried to get back in the ring but Piper grabbed a hold of his leg and struggled to keep him outside. Hogan was just barely able to kick him off and make it back in the ring , but Piper was counted out. Piper protested the decision, but the result stood. Clearly, these two have not seen the last of each other.
