Superstar Sleeze
So what's up with All Japan doing a tag team championship switch in KC apparently in an AWA ring between Jumbo & Yatsu vs Hansen & Gordy? According to comments this was when Bulldogs wrestled RNRs, which may make sense since Bulldogs were in AJPW. This was February 2, 1989. So who was running KC in the late 1980s? Geigel? AWA? Whats the connection here?
victory
Geigel was still running it. I presume this was just a joint AJPW & Central States show that would be shown in Japan. Verne probably helped him promote it somewhat, which would be the reason for the AWA ring.
Bierschwale
Ironically just talked about this show last night, though it was about the Bulldogs-RNR match.
Superstar Sleeze
I thought Crockett had bought out Central States in 86? Why do a title switch in America at that point?
Tabe
FWIW, that tag switch is one of the worst All Japan main events from the 80s and 90s I've ever seen. It's amazingly bad for the talent involved.

Geigel was still running a promotion. He ran the area as the World Wrestling Alliance and had a decent amount of AJ-affiliated talent floating around. and Mike George was his World champ. Good times as always in KC.
